Princip hry v románech Tres tristes tigres a Rayuela / The principle of play in the novel Tres tristes tigres and Rayuela

Štefanová, Veronika January 2013 (has links)
This thesis investigates the principle of play in the diverse constituents of the modern novel, represented by the works of Rayuela by Julio Cortázar and Tres tristes tigres by Guillermo Cabrera Infante. In the chapter 1, it inquires into the conception of play in the point of view of the philosophy (mainly of Eugen Fink), sociology (of Roger Caillois) and psycology (of Carl Gustav Jung). In the chapter 2, it focuses from the point of view of the literary science on the play in the modern novel and it gives some examples from the world-literature. The chapter 3, which is the center of the thesis, applies the outcomes of the previous chapters in the analysis and comparison of the principle of play on the thematic, language, compositive and narrative level directly in the novels Rayuela and Tres tristes tigres, and on the finish it tries to formulate the sight of the world and the man in both works.

Continuidade de atratores para sistemas dinâmicos: decomposição de Morse, equi-atração e domínios ilimitados / Continuity of attractors for dynamical systems: Morse decompositions, equiattraction and unbounded domains

Costa, Henrique Barbosa da 28 July 2016 (has links)
In this work we study assimptotic properties of parabolic problems under some different view of points, particularlly interested in the stability properties of the systems. We study equi-attraction in the non autonomous case using skew-product semiflows, which transform the non autonomous dynamical system into a autonomous one in a convenient phase space. For multivalued semiflows, in which the semiflow is a set valued function, we develop the Morse decomposition and show its equivalence with admiting a Lyapunov funcional, wich is a important result on the semigroup theory. We also study the continuity of the asymptotic dynamic for a parabolic problem in an unbouded domain when we approach it by bounded ones.

"Así me gustas gordita": Representaciones de la gordura en la música popular y la literatura del Caribe hispano

Braden, Emily 17 December 2007 (has links)
This thesis examines contemporary musical and literary representations of female fatness in the Hispanic Caribbean. Chapter I explores the stereotype of a greater acceptance and valorization of fatness within the African Diaspora using contemporary feminist scholarship on cultural aesthetics and the body. Fatness is discussed as being both sexually transgressive and traditionally feminine. Chapter II juxtaposes male representations of “la gorda” in the lyrics of popular music of from Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico with the feminist politics of underground hip hop. Chapter III analyzes Guillermo Cabrera Infante’s hyperbolic representation of La Estrella, his fictionalization of Cuban bolero singer Fredy Rodriguez, in Ella cantaba boleros y “Metafinal” (1996). The aquatic subtexts and grotesque characterization of La Estrella’s body construct her as an icon of musical authenticity and exceptionality as well as a symbol of strength and resistance.

Taking Care of the Caregivers: The Moderating Role of Reflective Supervision in the Relationship Between COVID-19 Stress and the Mental and Professional Well-Being of the IECMH Workforce

Morelen, Diana, Najm, Julia, Wolff, Megan, Daniel, Kelly 01 January 2022 (has links)
The present study examined the relationships between COVID-related stress, mental health and professional burnout in the infant and early child mental health (IECMH) workforce and examined reflective supervision and consultation (RSC) as a potential protective factor in the context of COVID-related stress. Participants included 123 adults (n = 121 female, modal age range 30-39 years) in the TN IECMH workforce (mean years of experience = 13.6 years) surveyed in June/July 2020. Sector representation was quite varied (home visiting, childcare, child welfare, early intervention). Results indicated the majority (63%) of the sample was caring for someone else (e.g., child or elderly person) while working at home, 46% of the sample had depression symptoms (18% in the moderate-severe range), and 75% of the sample had anxiety symptoms (33% in the moderate-severe range). Higher COVID stress was associated with higher internalizing symptoms and burnout levels and this relationship was mediated by self-care behaviors such that the more COVID stress one reported, the fewer self-care behaviors they engaged in, and the higher the risk for internalizing and burnout. Finally, the pathway from COVID stress to self-care behaviors was moderated by RSC. IECMH professionals who received less than 1 year (or no experience) of RSC showed a significant decrease in self-care behaviors during times of low, average and high levels of COVID stress compared to those who received 1 year or more of RSC. Implications for both policy and practice will be discussed.
