Tal resultado ocorre devido a adoção de práticas que levam especialmente em consideração a gestão estratégica da informação interna e externa, visto que o estabelecimento da boa comunicação, rápida e clara, a fim de estabelecer um clima de confiança na relação da empresa com a sociedade, os credores, os colaboradores e, especialmente, com os investidores. No Brasil, o modelo criado pela Bolsa de Valores de São Paulo chamado de ‘Novo Mercado’, traz em seu escopo regras de conduta adicionais às exigidas pela legislação brasileira e possui como base a equidade no tratamento entre partes, a transparência na divulgação de informações e responsabilidade na prestação de contas. Esta pesquisa apresenta uma investigação acerca dos modelos praticados relacionados à gestão da informação e prestação de contas baseados em critérios legais, além dos padrões adicionais de divulgação de informações. A pesquisa avaliou os mecanismos de governança, bem como de que maneira a gestão estratégica da informação é capaz de exercer influência sobre o relacionamento entre o poder de controle e os acionistas minoritários. O instrumento, elaborado com base em três modelos voltados a órgãos governamentais, foi testado e possibilitou identificar o nível de amadurecimento da Gestão da Informação. Para a realização deste trabalho foi realizada uma pesquisa com os gestores e os especialistas da Instituição. O estudo foi realizado em uma unidade técnico-administrativa e em quatro unidades técnico-científicas. De acordo com o estudo realizado a Gestão da Informação encontra-se no nível forte. Porém, identificou-se que algumas atividades estão implementadas, mas não estão muito desenvolvidas ou se encontram ainda pouco disseminadas na instituição. Propõe-se para a Fiocruz a ampliação do instrumento apresentado e sua aplicação em todas as unidades da instituição. / This paper aims to develop an analytical model of Information Management at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation – Fiocruz, which is a government institution, producer of a large volume of information in circulation. The instrument was developed based on three models targeted at government agencies, has been tested and enabled us to identify the level of maturity of Information Management. For the preparation of this work was carried out a survey with the managers and specialists of the institution. The study was performed in a technical-administrative unit and in four technical-scientific units. According to the performed study the Information Management is at the strong level. However, it was found that some activities are implemented, but not are very developed or are poorly disseminated within the institution. It is proposed for Fiocruz expanding the instrument presented and its application in all the units of the institution.

Die Verwaltung persönlicher, multimedialer Dokumente kann mit Hilfe semantischer Technologien und Ontologien intelligent und effektiv unterstützt werden. Dies setzt jedoch Verfahren voraus, die den grundlegenden Annotations- und Bearbeitungsaufwand für den Anwender minimieren und dabei eine ausreichende Datenqualität und -konsistenz sicherstellen. Im Rahmen der Dissertation wurden notwendige Mechanismen zur semi-automatischen Modellierung und Wartung semantischer Dokumentenbeschreibungen spezifiziert. Diese bildeten die Grundlage für den Entwurf einer komponentenbasierten, anwendungsunabhängigen Architektur als Basis für die Entwicklung innovativer, semantikbasierter Lösungen zur persönlichen Dokumenten- und Wissensverwaltung. / Personal multimedia document management benefits from Semantic Web technologies and the application of ontologies. However, an ontology-based document management system has to meet a number of challenges regarding flexibility, soundness, and controllability of the semantic data model. The first part of the dissertation proposes necessary mechanisms for the semi-automatic modeling and maintenance of semantic document descriptions. The second part introduces a component-based, application-independent architecture which forms the basis for the development of innovative, semantic-driven solutions for personal document and information management.

Effektivare informationsflöden med Lean information management

Information management is important for organizations since it constitutes the foundation for leading and organizing companies. Sharing information has for a long time been considered as a critical activity in supply chains. This study is based on the Lean information management framework which are founded by the principles of Lean and continuous improvements in the information management context. Previous studies have examined whether the principles of Lean can be applied in the area of information management. The framework has been developed from these studies. Only a few studies have applied the framework of lean information management.   The purpose of this study is to apply the framework of Lean information management and examine critical factors in information management which affects the efficiency in a company’s internal processes. A case study were conducted at SCA Östrand where the process of purchasing certified wood are studied. Value stream mapping are chosen as a tool to visualize the current state of the process. Failure mode and effect analysis, FMEA, are applied to prioritize failure modes in the process. When developing the future state map the failure modes are taken into account.    The result shows that waiting, transport and motion are main categories of waste that appear in the purchase process of the case company. Increasing the availability of documents and reducing lead time caused by exchange of information via mail are factors to premium the efficiency of the process. This result shows contradictions where other types of waste, such as defects, instead can occur when documents are available for more people.  For future research it’s interesting to examine the information flow in different organizations to see how different changes premium the efficiency. Studying other processes in addition to purchase can give rich insights to this area of knowledge. From a business point of view it can be interesting to examine how changes in information flow affects monetary values. This is another aspect that can develop the research area. Previous research has not mentioned contradictions in Lean information management. To further expand the area of research, contradictions in Lean information management would be interesting to examine. / Informationshantering är en viktig del inom en organisation, då det utgör grunden för att leda och organisera verksamheten. Informationsdelning har länge ansetts som en kritisk aktivitet inom värdekedjor för att skapa en samordnad helhet. Denna studie baseras på ramverket Lean information management som bygger på Leans principer för att arbeta med ständiga förbättringar inom informationshantering. Tidigare studier inom Lean information management har fokuserat på huruvida Leans principer kan appliceras inom informationshantering. Utifrån dessa studier har ramverk utvecklats. Endast ett fåtal studier har tillämpat ramverk för Lean information management.  Syftet med denna studie är därför att tillämpa ramverket för Lean information management och undersöka kritiska faktorer inom informationshantering som påverkar effektiviteten inom ett företags interna processer. Detta görs genom en fallstudie på SCA Östrand där informationsflödet i en inköpsprocess studeras. En värdeflödes analys illustrerar nuläget över processen. Feleffektsanalys, FMEA används för att prioritera potentiella fellägen i processen. På så sätt kan dessa tas i beaktande när olika förslag på förbättrade scenarier utvecklas.  Resultatet visar att väntan, transport och rörelse är de slöserier som främst uppstår i och med inköpsprocessen på fallföretaget. Genom att öka tillgängligheten på dokument samt reducera ledtider som uppstår i och med utbyte av information via mail, premieras effektiviteten för processen. Dock visar detta resultat på en motsägelse där andra typer av slöserier, så som exempelvis defekter istället kan uppstå när dokument tillgängliggörs.  För framtida studier är det av intresse att undersöka informationsflödet i flera olika organisationer för att se hur effektiviteten kan premieras genom att göra olika typer av förändringar. En annan aspekt som kan utöka kunskapen inom ämnesområdet är att studera hur förändringarna i informationsflödet påverkar monetära värden, vilket kan vara värdefull information ur ett affärsperspektiv. Tidigare forskning har inte berört uppkomst av motsägelser inom Lean information management. Även detta skulle vara intressant att studera vidare för att utöka förståelsen inom ämnesområdet.

Efficient information and knowledge distribution in high-tech production units utilizing graphical user interfaces / Effektiv informations- och kunskapsspridning inom högteknologiska produktionsenheter genom grafiska användargränssnitt

This study aims to examine potential efficiency gains within a manufacturing unit by implementing processes for knowledge and information distribution. A specialized software tool, implementing processes for knowledge and information distribution, was developed and then examined to see if any efficiency gains could be accomplished. The scientific questions to be addressed were: Will well-defined strategies and processes for information and knowledge management lead to higher efficiency within a manufacturing unit? Is a specialized software a useful tool and how should it be designed to facilitate efficient information and knowledge management? With the help of information management theories, interviews and a field study five main problem areas were found. To counter the problem areas and approach the technical aspect of this study human-computer interactions theories were used to develop three prototypes in an iterative process. The third and final prototype was evaluated by using user testing and interview questions. We found that well-defined strategies and processes for information and knowledge management lead to higher efficiency within a manufacturing unit. By using the specialized software tool it will be easier to facilitate efficient information and knowledge management and that general rules on how to create such a software exists. Due to the result and reactions from the employees our recommendations is for FLIR Systems AB to conduct an implementation study using our software as the frontend. / Denna studies mål är att undersöka eventuella effektivitetsvinster inom en tillverkningsenhet genom att implementera processer för kunskaps- och informationsspridning. Ett specialiserat verktyg, som implementera de processer för kunskap och informationsspridning, har utvecklats och sedan granskas för att se om några effektivitetsvinster kan åstadkommas. De vetenskapliga frågor som skall besvaras är: Kommer väldefinierade strategier och processer för informations- och kunskapsspridning att leda till ökad effektivitet inom en tillverkningsenhet? Är en specialiserad mjukvara ett användbart verktyg och hur ska den designas för att uppmuntra effektiv informations- och kunskapshantering? Fem problemområden identifierade med hjälp av teorier om informationshantering, intervjuer och en fältstudie. För att förbättra de problemområden och närma den tekniska aspekten av denna studie användes människa-datorinteraktionsteorier för att utveckla tre prototyper i en iterativ process. Den tredje och sista prototypen utvärderades med hjälp av användartester och intervjufrågor. Vi fann att väldefinierade strategier och processer för information och kunskapshantering leder till högre effektivitet inom en tillverkningsenhet. Genom att använda ett specialiserat verktyg underlättar det för en effektiv informations- och kunskapshantering. Vi fann även att allmänna regler för hur man designar en sådan mjukvara existerar. Utifrån resultatet och reaktionerna från de anställda är våra rekommendationer för FLIR Systems AB att genomföra en implementationsstudie med hjälp av vår programvara som interface.

Hantering av information och kunskap inom tjänsteproducerande företag : Applicering av Lean Information Management mot förbättrad kundförståelse

Denna studie syftar till att undersöka hur tjänsteproducerande företag kan utveckla processer för informationshantering mot interna kunder baserat på lean principer. Studien avser att fylla i det gapet som finns gällande forskningen om användandet av lean principer i hanteringen av information för tjänsteproducerande organisationer. Genom att tillämpa lean principer för informationshanteringsprocesser kan organisationer finna vilka slöserier som finns samt minimera dess uppkomst. I analysen av relevant teori samt den empiriska insamlingen framkommer det förbättringsmöjligheter för fallföretaget. Avgörande för SJ Stockholmståg är att följa konsekventa riktlinjer på alla avdelningar och att få en bättre förståelse för interna kunder för att på ett effektivt sätt möta deras olika behov. Utifrån den tematiska analysen kunde författarna utröna fyra fokusområden för vilket lean principer kan appliceras med syfte att förbättra informationshanteringen samt öka kvaliteten för mottagaren. Utformning av tydliga informationsprocesser där de interna kundernas behov är centrala, tankesättet om kunden i centrum är en av grundpelarna i lean principer. I linje med lean behöver organisationen öka sin förståelse för dess interna kunder, genomgående under intervjuerna framgick det en utvecklingspotential i detta område. Avdelningsöverskridande arbete kan hjälpa i detta och medföra en större känsla av sammanhang till SJ Stockholmståg för dess medarbetare. Sammanfattningsvis skulle en tillämpning av lean principer och främjande av en kultur uppbyggd på ständiga förbättringar. Genom att effektivisera informationshanteringen, eliminera slöserier och i slutändan förbättra konkurrenskraften och kundnöjdheten inom sin tjänsteproduktion. Rapportens förhoppning är att bidra till tjänsteproducerande organisationer där informationsdelning mellan avdelningar är en väsentlig del av verksamheten. / This study aims to investigate how service producing companies can develop processes for information management towards internal customers based on lean practices. The study also intends to fill the gap that exists regarding the research on the use of lean practices in the management of information for service producing organizations. By applying lean practices to information management processes, organizations can find what waste exists and minimize its occurrence. In the analysis of relevant theory and the empirical collection, improvement opportunities for the case company emerge. It is crucial for SJ Stockholmståg to follow consistent guidelines in all departments and to gain a better understanding of internal customers in order to effectively meet their various needs. Based on the thematic analysis, the authors were able to ascertain four focus areas for which lean practices can be applied with the aim of improving information management and increasing quality for the recipient. Designing clear information processes where the needs of the internal customers are central, the mindset of the customer at the center is one of the pillars of lean practice. In line with lean, the organization needs to increase its understanding of its internal customers, consistently during the interviews there was a development potential in this area. Cross-departmental work can help in this and bring a greater sense of context to SJ Stockholmståg for its employees. In conclusion, an application of lean practices and the promotion of a culture built on continuous improvement. By streamlining information management, minimizing waste and ultimately improving competitiveness and customer satisfaction within their service production. The report's aim is to contribute to service-producing organizations where information sharing between departments is an essential part of the business.

Komparativ analys av HTTP och AMQP i System Wide Information Management / Comparative analysis of HTTP and AMQP in System Wide Information Management

Med en ökande tillväxt inom flygtrafikbranschen behöver de bakomliggande flygtrafikledningssystemen uppgraderas för att möta den växande komplexiteten i syfte att säkerställa en ordnad flygtrafik. Här anses det arkitekturella konceptet System Wide Information Management (SWIM) för distribuerade flygledningssystem vara lösningen för att bygga system som är lättare att underhålla och enklare kan kan samverka med varandra. År 2021 fastslog Europeiska unionen att samtliga operativa intressenter inom det aeronautiska informationsutbytet i EU skall tillhandahålla och kunna konsumera SWIM-tjänster och erbjöd då en uppsättning tjänstegränssnittsbindningar för intressenter att hävda foglighet med för att efterfölja de nya regleringarna. Bland dessa finner vi AMQP Messaging och WS Light som utiliserar AMQP respektive HTTP som meddelandeprotokoll. Tidigare forskning har visat att AMQP presterar bättre än HTTP inom de flesta områden, men denna studie undersöker om någon av de två lämpar sig bättre som meddelandeprotokoll för en europabaserad SWIM-implementation genom att analysera resultatet i en SWIM-kontext. Med hjälp av en komparativ analys och kvantitativ dataanalys jämförs de två meddelandeprotokollen i denna studie för att identifiera liknande och åtskiljande karaktärsdrag samt för att svara på om någon av de två lämpar sig bättre för ändamålet. De punkter protokollen jämförs på är struktur, overhead och effektivitet, interoperabilitet och kompabilitet, tillförlitlighet och feltolerans samt förekomster i Eurocontrols SWIM Registry. Studiens resultat visar att AMQP är den lämpligaste kandidaten av de två sett till implementationstrender och prestanda, men att det är bör göras en avvägning innan en intressent väljer vilket gränssnitt denne skall implementera. / With an increasing growth within the aviation industry, the underlying air traffic control systems needs to be upgraded to meet the growing complexity for ensuring an organized air traffic. This is where the architectural concept System Wide Information Management (SWIM) for distributed air traffic control systems is believed to be the solution for building systems that are easier to maintain and can cooperate with ease. In the year 2021, the European Union decided that all operative stakeholders within the aeronautical information exchange in EU shall provide and be able to consume SWIM services, and provided a set of service interface bindings for stakeholders to claim conformance to in order to follow the new regulations. Among these we find AMQP Messaging and WS Light that utilizes AMQP and HTTP, respectively, as messaging protocols. Previous research has shown that AMQP performs better than HTTP in most areas, but this study analyses the result in a SWIM context to see if any of the two is a more suitable messaging protocol in a Europe based SWIM implementation. Through a comparative analysis and a quantitative data analysis the two messaging protocols are compared in this study to identify similar and distinctive characteristics to answer whether one of the two is a better candidate for the purpose. The protocols are compared on their structure, overhead and efficiency, interoperability and fault tolerance, and their occurances in Eurocontrol's SWIM Registry. The result of the study shows that AMQP is the more suitable candidate of the two, in regards to trends in current implementations as well as performance metrics, but a stakeholder should make a trade-off before choosing what service interface binding to implement.

While the abilities currently exist to collect and manage calibration and telemetry information in an automated fashion, new requirements have emerged to link this data with other systems and to expand the functions and devices supported. Coordinating and directing the overall flow of information required for a successful flight test is a very big task. It calls for a view into flight test planning and scheduling activities, test objectives and methods, and the requirements for viewing and processing the test data in real-time and postflight. To meet this challenge, the Automated Test Data Management System (ATDMS) is being developed at the Air Force Flight Test Center (AFFTC), Edwards AFB, California. This paper describes the critical information and interfaces that the ATDMS will manage to bring cohesion to the management of flight test support data.

The thesis aims to contribute to the research on the management and use of information in organisations by providing a holistic understanding of the various information practices and needs as well as attitudes towards information at different levels in the broader socio-historical context of a specific organisation. To this end, findings and approaches from research traditions in library and information science, management studies and organisational theory are combined in an activity-theoretical approach with some neo-institutional aspects. An empirical study using this theoretical framework investigates information activities in a Swedish youth organisation with the aim of contributing to peace and democracy. This study aims to answer research questions concerning how the individual and collective information practices of its Board members and the development of organisational strategies and routines for information activities are related to each other and to the socio-historical context of such organisations. The empirical data was gathered, firstly, through a qualitative case study of one youth/peace organisation, in which 14 members from two Boards were interviewed, 6 meetings were observed and e-mail communication and organisational documents were studied. The results were used in two questionnaires to Board members in a total sample of 9 similar youth/peace organisations to explore the assumption that a common socio-historical context would result in similar activities and constraints. Environmental scanning, seeking information, storing and retrieving information, creating information products, disseminating information to the environment and sharing information within the organisation are identified as distinct information activity systems in the case organisation that could be combined in a broader information management activity system. The outcome of Board members' individual, collective and organisational actions within these activities is mediated by a combination of how they perceive the objects, the available tools and resources, the chosen or emerging division of labour, organisational and collective aims and individual goals, and the explicit rules and implicit values that could be applied to the action in an organisational context. Most strategies are emergent in nature and start in a bottom-up process. A basic contradiction stemming from the socio-historical context of youth/peace organisations underlies the tensions in information activities. Board members have to make sense of contrasting identities in which empowerment is contrasted with professionalism as a basis for the organisations' legitimacy. The theoretical contribution of this study is the creation of two activity theoretical models for the analysis of information activities in organisations. The models provide a way to discuss the links between individual and collective information behaviour and organisational information management in a holistic perspective. They raise questions about the nature of these relationships and encompass the contextual aspects of information practices thus leading to a greater understanding of the ways in which information management develops in specific organisational contexts.
