Thebes, the Boeotian League, and central Greece : political and military development and interaction in the fourth century B.C

Furman, Michael Stephen January 2017 (has links)
The history of central Greece in the fourth century BC has long been viewed through the lens of Athenian and Spartan interests which distorts the historical narrative and often misleads the reader regarding the causes and effects of events in this region. The following examination rejects this view and instead uses a regional approach to achieve new and unique understandings of major events in central Greece during the first half of the fourth century BC. The main focus of the examination is the internal developments of the Boeotian League and its interaction with the other states of central Greece. This refers to the relationship between Thebes and the other cities of Boeotia within the federal state as well as between the Boeotian League and Locris, Phocis, and Thessaly. These relationships, when assessed from a regional perspective using both literary and archaeological evidence, craft a new narrative for the political and military history of central Greece, a narrative which can be defined as ‘Boeotian.' In doing so, many long-standing ideas regarding this period will be challenged including ideological shifts within the government of Boeotia, motivations for the beginning of the Corinthian War, the historical importance of Pelopidas and Epaminondas, and the mechanisms of Boeotian supremacy in central Greece.

Interpretace agentního systému řízeného záměrem v jazyce PROLOG / Intention Driven Agent in PROLOG

Němec, Ladislav January 2019 (has links)
This lever deals with the realization of the iterpreter of an Driven Agent by the PROLOG implementation. The model was used by Jason implemented in Java that interprets the language of AgentSpeak(L). For the purposes of this project, the program in AgentSpeak(L) is first converted to an internal language form. For the demonstration, one of the examples included in the Jason program, specifically "cleaning robors", was used. The interpreter can interpret the system as a FRAg and can react in the enviroment.

This lever deals with the realization of the iterpreter of an Driven Agent by the PROLOG implementation. The model was used by Jason implemented in Java that interprets the language of AgentSpeak(L). An interpreter and a program for processing agent systems in the language AgentSpeak (L) were created. This interpreter can work with multiple agents, can implement a system with an environment and use the FRAg system for interpretation. Examples of agent systems in AgentSpeak (L) were proposed to describe the functionality of the interpreter, and subsequently the advantages and disadvantages of the FRAg system were described.

Virtuellt klassrum i virtuell verklighet / Virtual Classroom in Virtual Reality

Hallengren, Viktor, Granath, Måns January 2016 (has links)
This project was created from the desire to provide a virtual training environment for teachers-intraining to practice and improve their non-verbal communication with students. The project worked by capturing the user’s movements and rendering the virtual agent’s to a screen in front of the user. Standing in front of a static screen to hold a lecture might however not feel entirely realistic. This report covers the implementation of a head-mounted display, specifically the Oculus Rift, to create a virtual reality as well as the extension of the virtual agent’s behavior and new ways to interact with the virtual agent’s. It also covers the results of an experiment where the new functionality was evaluated. The experiment was done by allowing 18 persons to test the system in both the old and new configurations and fill in questionnaires afterwards.

Andrew Tate som social rörelse. : En undersökning om Andrew Tate med kopplingar till högerextrema rörelser, maskuliniteter och en digitaliserad globalisering. / Andrew Tate as a social movement. : A study of Andrew Tate with connections to far-right movements, masculinities, and a digitalized globalization.

Larsson, Elin January 2023 (has links)
Abstract.  The purpose of this study is to investigate connections between Andrew Tate and right-wing extreme ideologies through fascist and feminist theories and how they spread in a digitalized globalization. The material is gathered from interviews and podcasts on YouTube where Andrew Tate shares his opinions. I have used theories and concepts that discuss sex, gender and heteronormativity as a social construction, as well as a theoretical framework that identifies tactics used by fascist movements to spread their ideas and increase their influence. The result of my study shows that there are distinct connections between Andrew Tate opinions and right-wing extreme ideologies. Tate uses the same tactical method as fascism to spread his message and gain followers. They also share the traditional conservative view on gender and gender roles where everything is based on masculinity and femininity in relation to one's biology. Both ideologies are based on a heteronormativity that lacks intersectional analysis and stigmatizes those who break the norm.

Rodrigues Junior, Fernando 17 December 2010 (has links)
This work intends to discuss the notion of heroism present in Apollonius Rhodius\' Argonautica in opposition to the concept of hero in Homeric poems.
