"de va ju jag som va syndaren va?" : En analys av ju i vardagliga samtal

Adolfsson, Rebecca January 2008 (has links)

An artistic director as an auteur in contexts: the case study of Dr. Joanna Chan of Hong Kong repertory theatre (1986-1990)

Tao, Siu Tip 29 December 2014 (has links)
The main objectives of this dissertation are: to research the theatrical term “artistic director”; and to investigate how an artistic director of a theatre troupe performs as an “auteur in contexts”. Through the case study of Dr. Joanna Chan (Chan), the second-ever artistic director of the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre (“the Rep / HKRep” / the Theatre), this dissertation examines the execution of her artistic directorship while she worked for a theatre company established and operated by the British colonial government. Auteur theories, Andrew Sarris’ in particular, are applied to investigate Chan’s creative works. “Artistic director” is a relatively new term in drama history. No serious or special studies have been conducted on the position, despite the fact that the job-holder is the creative force of a theatre company – by no means a meagre role. This dissertation closely studies the artistic directorship of Chan as an “auteur in contexts” when she took up the position at HKRep during Hong Kong’s final decade under British rule, particularly after the Sino-British Joint Declaration had been signed. Taking advantage of special political and social contexts, and as a Catholic nun with a broadly exposed, overseas educational background and an established career in theatre, Chan created local discourses in Hong Kong as an “auteur in contexts” by writing original plays and setting up the Rep’s first-ever theme for its drama season – Facing Deadlines. The bold and unique offerings of the drama season she designed, along with her other artistic works, all explored individuals’ dilemmas, social anxieties, and the Hong Kong people’s conflicting identity, induced by “the 1997 deadline”. Her emphasis on writing and promoting original plays had greatly contributed to the shift in the Rep’s programming from purely artistic offerings to productions tinted with social agendas. Through first-hand information obtained by interviewing Chan, other industry insiders and drama critics; through close study of Chan’s plays for textual analyses; and through research carried out particularly in the Rep’s news clippings library, this case study investigates how Chan as an artistic director managed to carve out a space for herself, to display her own style as an “auteur in contexts” of the text of HKRep, and to influence the local drama scene while working under a system replete with governmental constraints as well as facing larger political, social and cultural changes in society

»Das größte Geheimnis der deutschen Technik«: Die Entwicklung des Stratosphärenflugzeugs Ju 49 im Spannungsfeld von Wissenschaft, Industrie und Militär (1926–1936)

Flachowsky, Sören 04 February 2013 (has links)
Kayako Saeki och hämnden : Hur historiska traditioner formade det kvinnliga japanska spöket / Kayako Saeki and The Grudge : How Historical Traditions Shaped The Female Japanese Ghost

Lagesson, Linnea January 2022 (has links)
Kayako and The Grudge: How Historical Traditions Shaped The Female Japanese Ghost is an attempt at examining the Japanese historical past, and to unearth the tropes, traditions and legends that laid the foundation for one of the most beloved horror icons of the past thirty years. From the rise of the J-horror genre, where Japanese horror films were first introduced to Western cinema during the late 1990s to the early 2000s, few characters have become as well known or as beloved as Ju-On:s Kayako Saeki. She may not have been the first to cross the sea, that title goes to Ringu:s Sadako Yamamura. Kayako is a tragic figure, living an unfulfilling life and meeting a brutal end – something that is surprisingly common in Japanese ghost stories as a whole. These stories often focus on distressed women, who are bereft of either the things they love, their lives, or both – and after their deaths, these women find themselves using their newfound powers to wreak havoc upon the living through a sudden lust for vengeance. Yet, as the epitome poster girl for a woman scorned, Kayako has given the long lived trope a face – she is the definitive iteration of the Japanese vengeful ghost, but she was not born in a vacuum. Kayako is the final step on a long journey throughout history, one that has been shaped and defined largely by the male perception of the female person. So how do we, as women, reclaim, embrace and see ourselves in such a complex figure? And what exactly, historically, is it that has given birth to this compelling and sympathetic villain who seeks only to satiate her grudge?

The Arts of Linking: A Comparative Study on Lian Ju by Han Yu's circle and Haikai by Basho's School

Xie, Kai 01 January 2010 (has links) (PDF)
Linked verse is a communicative and dynamic poetic form in which a series of verses are usually composed by several poets. It existed in both China and Japan and was fully explored by Han Yu’s circle and Bashō’s school, respectively. This thesis is a comparative study of the lian ju (Chinese linked verse) by Han Yu’s circle and the haikai (Japanese popular linked verse) by Bashō’s school, with focus on the arts of linking, the most important and interesting aspect of this unique poetic form. This study begins with a broad introduction and comparison of the two literary groups and their linked verse compositions. Representing the highest level of linked verse compositions in China and Japan, Han’s lian ju and Bashō’s haikai share some similarities. Yet whereas the former never outshone individual poetry in terms of influence and popularity, the latter dominated the entire poetic field, at least in Bashō’s day. In the second chapter, I investigate how the verses are linked. In terms of linking techniques, Han Yu’s circle basically used “close link,” including “word link” and “content link,” which does not exceed the range of the Chinese poetic tradition. In contrast, Bashō’s school valued the “distant link,” which is usually beyond expectation and needs analysis and imagination. In both cases, the linking is usually a combination of “complementary linking” and “competitive linking.” However, the competitive atmosphere prevails in the former while the complementary characteristic is represented more often in the latter. The third chapter continues the topic of linking, but it focuses on how the verses in a sequence are integrated as a whole. The verses in a lian ju sequence share a topic and are organized as in traditional individual poetry. In a haikai sequence, however, verses with different topics and images are disciplined by detailed rules. Finally, I compare the styles of the two schools. Both of them created a “new” poetic style by searching for the “old.” Nevertheless, the content of their poetry and their ways of composing poetry are very different.

Subjektivní vliv sociální reklamy na studenty Jihočeské univerzity v Českých Budějovicích. / Subjective Influence of Social Advertising to Students of University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice.

ZAJACOVÁ, Veronika January 2018 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the less known type of advertising - the social advertising. The social advertising uses mostly emotional appeals to raise awareness about societal problems, bad habits of people and strives for the behavioural change aiming to make the contemporary world better. The diploma thesis consists of a theoretical and a practical part, whilst the theoretical part offers a comprehensive view not only on the social advertising but partly on the advertising in general as well. It explains the term of social advertising, compares it to the commercial advertising, describes its historical development and defines the subjects of the social advertising. The theoretical part further explains how the social advertising influences the society, which is mostly done by the emotional expression of the given problem and by advertising appeals. Approached are also the specific advertising campaigns - by the most common typologisation of social advertising themes. The research was conducted using surveys aiming to find out whether there are any differences in the awareness of social advertising by students of the HSS SBU and the FE SBU all together with finding out whether it is possible to talk about a higher social advertising influence on students of the HSS SBU. The results were in accordance with these hypothesises which can prove the existence of knowledge differences of students about the social advertising based on their field of study and the fact that the social advertising has bigger influence on students of the health and social fields of study. Answers of respondents from both faculties were often different. On the other hand, students from both HSS SBU and FE SBU have shown the same answers regarding the attitude towards the social advertising. It is possible to make a statement that the social advertising seems beneficial to both HSS SBU and FE SBU students as well and they would like to be in contact with it more often. The students of HSS SBU have chosen to perform the helping professions for their carrier which demands also personal traits that can be e.g. the social feeling and the desire to help. The research brought the finding, that the students care about the social problems and that the social advertising fulfils its purpose which is raising awareness about the societal problems that should get known by people this way.

A comparative study of the verb structure in northern, central and southern Khoesan: the case of Ju/’hoansi, Naro and !Xóõ

Motse-Mogara, Budzani Gabana 02 1900 (has links)
Text in English / This dissertation, deals with the verb structure found in Ju/̕hoansi, Naro and !Xóõ, which form part of the Northern, Central and Southern Khoesan respectively. Although previous studies have been conducted on these languages, no study has been done to date involving a detailed comparison of the structures in these languages. Thus, not much has been done in the area of syntax; particularly syntactical comparison. Previous studies ignored comparisons of grammatical categories and structures such as noun class markers, plural formation markers, tense and aspect markers and verbal extensions. This dissertation consists of six chapters. Chapter 1 covers the language situation in Botswana. Chapter 2 is devoted to the literature review. Chapter 3 deals with the linguistic features found in the three languages. Chapter 4 covers the methodology and the theoretical framework adopted in the dissertation. The theoretical framework is eclectic in nature, in other words, the study is largely descriptive. However, on occasion, some aspects of lexical functional grammar (LFG) are used. This theoretical framework is appealing as it best handles important aspects of the languages under consideration, particularly the verb extensions. Chapter 5 describes the noun class system, highlighting the markers found in different noun classes. It also covers tense and aspect markers as well as the verbal extensions found in the three languages. Specifically, it is argued in this chapter that plural formation occurs in three ways; regular plurals, irregular plurals and neutral plurals. The study reveals a close relationship between tense and aspect and the motion of the events, points of reference and moment of speech encoded in the verbs involved. Adverbials can co-occur with the relevant tenses. Lastly, it is shown that verbal extensions do not just combine freely; they are subject to different kinds of sequential constraints. Chapter 6 summarizes the main findings, highlighting the similarities and differences in the three languages. Naro is SOV while Ju/'hoansi and !Xóõ are SVO. Chapter 6 also indicates areas in these Khoesan Languages requiring further research. / African Languages / D. Litt. et Phil. (African Languages)

No. of bitstreams: 1 JULIANA B OLIVEIRA.pdf: 397845 bytes, checksum: 1fe218cc24459ea6207d54fdd25797e5 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2007-12-14 / In an effort to identify responses pointing towards resilience in the behavioral system of individuals who are successful in confronting adversities and also to understand how such behaviors unfold 220 people were interviewed for the event 148 women and 72 men. The following instruments were used: Identification Data Form Inventory of Stress Symptoms (I.S.S.) Database of Stress Source and Database of Behaviors Pointing to Resilience. It is observed that 72% of individuals are stressed. There is notably a frequent occurrence of psychological symptoms and 76% of the individuals agree to be daily susceptible to innumerous stressful situations. The main stressor refers to the administration of personal tasks especially if the individual is a female and it also refers to the work itself. It is noted that men show a more frequent behavior of resilience than women do. Moreover men manifest a greater ability to control emotions and to face new challenges. However it is noticed both in men and women that those individuals with more distinguished sense of self-control and ability to understand the basis of adversities and those who are optimistic and sympathetic are less likely to develop symptoms of chronic stress. A balanced emotional attitude is considered the main protection factor. Most of those individuals who are not stressed consider that effective skills to confront the adversities are learned throughout the course of their lives.
