Leitura e escrita da letra na obra de Jacques Lacan / not informed by the author

Guilherme Celio Oliveira Silva 16 May 2018 (has links)
This research analyzes the statute of the letter in the first nine seminars of Jacques Lacan. It begins with a question about the genesis of the concept in the work, when analyzing the text L\'instance de la lettre dans l\'inconscient or la raison depuis Freud and apparitions of ideas regarding reading and writing of the unconscious in the first four seminars. The notion of transliteration is taken here as a symbolic operation of the letter. Secondly, the analysis will turn to the problematic of the unary trait in seminary IX and a possible separation of reading and writing, when the psychoanalyst speaks of a genesis of the writing from the reading of the trace and the writing of the signifier when talking about the trait unary

The desire in the psychoses : Issues and implications of the cure based in the teaching of Jacques Lacan

De Battista, Julieta 08 June 2012 (has links)
Thirty years after Lacan’s death, the consequences around the cure derived from his teaching on psychosis deserve a review for the period 1981-2011. Today, many Lacanian analysts treat psychotic patients and try to account the effects. Why psychoanalysis appeared to be operative addressing psychotics? Although the effects of the analytical approach are recognized by analysts, their theory leads to paradoxes such as the one which states that there is no desire in the psychoses. Insofar as Lacan has developed an analytical ethic based on the function of the desire of the analyst as the essence of transference, the exclusion of the psychotic desire from the theory is contradicts to the idea of a possible cure. This could turn into a therapeutic treatment. This investigation suggests that the concept of desire should be integrated in the theories concerning the analytic treatment of psychoses. First of all, this hypothesis seems to be necessary to account for changes in the subjective position identified in cases of melancholic patients whose initial mortification had a reversion to persecution. The passage of an abolished desire to a restitution of desire in the Other implies the statement that psychosis is also a matter of desire. The point is not the absence of desire, but the ways that every psychotic subject can implement for support of the desire. The analytical approach demonstrates its effectiveness at this level, but this effectiveness is never guaranteed because it depends always on a meeting of the psychotic with the analyst’sdesire.

The Transsexual Phallus

Stanley, Sappho 06 April 2022 (has links)
Of poetry, Lacan remarked in the preface to Seminar XI, “I am not a poet, but a poem. A poem that is being written, even if it looks like a subject.” In understanding the subject as a poem, one begins to appreciate the literary mode of poetry. Traditions set by Judith Butler have inundated the use of a Lacanian analysis in the theoretical lives of transgender subjects. In the use of theoretical arguments that Butler uses the transsexual subject for, such as her essay “Doing Justice to Someone: Sex Reassignment and Allegories of Transsexuality,” there has been an injustice to transgender poets, in renown and the answers transsexuals have to the problems of materialism within Butler and Lacan. In other words, the real lives of transsexuals’ bodies are proof of the relevance of sex and gender. Jos Charles’ poem “Origin as Wetdream” loudly answers Butler’s apathetic attitude to the relevance of sex in the transsexual’s life. Furthering, this essay aims to examine the attitudes of sex and gender held within gender studies. This essay frames itself within the concept of “egg theory,” an argument held by Grave Lavery in her essay “Egg Theory’s Early Style.” In understanding Charles’ poem, one understands the transsexual subject. Through this understanding, the material of transition can be appreciated.

Thibault, Marie-Andrée 29 October 2021 (has links)

Essai on Lacan and the `Becoming-ness' of Organizations/Selves.

Harding, Nancy H. January 2007 (has links)
No / Poststructuralist accounts of organizations understand them as flows, as verbs in process of always-becoming. Subjects who work `in' organizations are similarly always in a process of becoming. Organization and members are mutually constitutive, each enfolded within the other. The process by which each is enfolded within and constituted by the other is what is explored in this essai. Its aim is to analyse something of the becoming-ness of organizations/selves, in which the researcher-self is imbricated in this becoming-ness and must therefore be part of that which is studied. To achieve this aim I draw on Lacan's concepts: of the mirror stage, or how I am in an agonistic relationship with the other; Nachträglichkeit or the reliving of the past in the present (deferred action); and identification. I apply these concepts to an interview I, an academic, carried out with a manager, emphasizing the importance of these organizational identities in our encounter with each other. The conclusion I reach is that the organization I am `in' is at the same time `in' me: there is no inside and no outside.

Horses for courses: exploring the limits of leadership development through equine-assisted learning

Kelly, Simon 2013 May 1920 (has links)
Yes / This essay draws on insights taken from Lacanian psychoanalysis to rethink and resituate notions of the self and subjectivity within the theory and practice of experiential leadership development. Adopting an auto-ethnographic approach, it describes the author’s own experience as a participant in a programme of equine assisted learning or ‘horse whispering’ and considers the consequences of human-animal interactions as a tool for self-development and improvement. Through an analysis of this human/animal interaction, the essay presents and applies three Lacanian concepts of subjectivity, desire and fantasy and considers their form and function in determining the often fractured relationship between self and other that characterises leader-follower relations.
