The purpose of the study has been to investigate the collaboration between the leisure center and the school library and what obstacles and opportunities there are. In my dissertation, I have interviewed a school librarian and a leisure educator to find out how they work with literature in school and what obstacles and opportunities they believe there are to increase collaboration between school and school library. I have also used previous research that shows the effects of reading for children at an early age and current studies that show the negative effects that come from the use of school libraries to an increasing extent in Sweden. The results of the study have shown that reading from an early age has a great impact on children's schooling and their opportunities to acquire information and knowledge throughout their lives. The school can make a big difference for the students by offering a large selection of literature and adapting the reading so that all students have the opportunity to read on their own terms. By having a school library with trained staff, students get the best conditions for qualitative and rewarding reading.

Syftet med vår undersökning är att visa på hur lärare i fritidshem kan inkludera alla elever under den fysiska aktiviteten på fritidshemmet. Bakgrunden till denna undersökning är att det blir allt vanligare att eleverna väljer aktiviteter som inte innehåller fysisk aktivitet, och vi vill därför lyfta vikten av att vara en förebild och inspirera eleverna till att välja aktiviteter som gynnar kunskap och intresse för rörelseglädje. Våra frågeställningar är ”Hur kan lärare i fritidshemmet motivera alla elever till att vara delaktiga i den fysiska aktiviteten under deras fritid?” och ”Hur anpassas aktiviteterna för en enskild elev?”. Undersökningen är grundad i en teori vid namn Normativ teori som lyfter ämnen som jämlikhet, och social rättvisa. Metoden vi har valt att använda oss av är kvalitativ enkätundersökning där vi fick in 13 svar. Resultaten visade sig vara enhetliga då samtliga arbetar för inkludering genom att lärare i fritidshem själva deltar i aktiviteter, samt utformar aktiviteterna efter elevernas intressen. Den tidigare forskningen i jämförelse med våra enkätsvar visar på att detta är en betydelsefull förutsättning för att eleverna ska få mera engagemang och intresse för att vilja delta i varierande aktiviteter.

The purpose of our study was to investigate how leisure educators at two different leisure homes work with inclusion and exclusion in the indoor environment. In order to answer the purpose, the study was based on the following questions: How do leisure educators work with inclusion and exclusion? What opportunities and obstacles do leisure educators see in their work on inclusion and exclusion? How do children include and exclude each other in the leisure home? What significance does the environment have for inclusion and exclusion in the leisure home? The empirical study is conducted at two different leisure centers where interviews and observations have been used as a method. Two educated leisure educators were interviewed to find out how they view inclusion and exclusion and how they work on this. The analysis has been done from a socio-cultural perspective. The study found that inclusion is about belonging, security and community in which all students are involved. The educators explained how important it is to see all students and create a good climate in the group where everyone can be heard and seen. The study found various reasons that lead to exclusion that it may depend on hierarchy in the children's group. Exclusion can also occur in the game where some students do not belong to a community or are involved. Obstacles that have been highlighted by leisure educators to achieve an inclusive way of working are staff shortages, time, local design, large groups of children and that they need access to more tools. The result shows that the educators work inclusively by, among other things, taking advantage of the students' interest and needs in planning to make the students want to participate in the activities. The results also show that there are educators who believe that exclusion is complex. There are varying views on the concept of exclusion.

The aim of my study has been to investigate, based on the children’s perceptions, what obstacles and opportunities they encounter in the outdoor play at the leisure home, which affects their playing habits. I interviewed eighteen children during four interview sessions at a school in Stockholm, Sweden about their outdoor play habits at the leisure home. To investigate this, I have used affordance theory, which is linked to the physical environment and the social environment. Affordance is about what meaningful offers an individual perceives in an environment and its material. The results showed that the children seem to be in a dangerous world according to the staff who set restrictive rules to protect them. The schoolyard, which should be a safe place in the other hand can contain several dangers that I have identified. The danger here are about the various factors that affected the children’s opportunities for physical activity. Previous research shows this fear of exposing children to risks is common in today’s society, it also shows how children’s opportunities for physical activity are diminishing.
