In this sense, the Christian experience is analyzed in its originating, whence the conception of original Christianity. Christianity itself, as a phenomenon, is an unique element in understanding the proper unfolding of the phenomenological path of Heidegger, especially in texts and lectures of the 1920s. Therefore, two concepts appear as fundamental to this research: "worldview" and "theology." The German philosopher characterizes both terms in the highlighted period. However, this characterization is within a phenomenological-hermeneutic movement, that is, try to understand both what is "world view" as it is "theology" in its essentiality, breaking with the metaphysical tradition. This makes it is stated: "worldview" and "theology" are based on experiential dimension of existence of being-there and both can be understood as a reflection of original Christianity, that is, as a possibility to understand the very believer existence of be there. It cans this be achieved with the aid of a phenomenological-hermeneutical method, able to understand the conceptual constructs developed by Heidegger and bring them together. So try to understand what the original Christianity is in its experiential dimension to be able to show that "worldview" and "theology" are possible consequences of such an experience. / Esta pesquisa toma o pensamento de Martin Heidegger (1889-1976) como principal fonte te?rica com a pretens?o de mostrar o seguinte: o fen?meno religioso crist?o ? uma possibilidade vi?vel para compreender a caracteriza??o dada pelo fil?sofo alem?o ? no??o de experi?ncia f?tica da vida. Nesse sentido, a experi?ncia crist? ? analisada em sua originariedade, donde a concep??o de cristianismo origin?rio. O pr?prio cristianismo, enquanto fen?meno, ? um elemento singular para compreender o pr?prio desdobramento do percurso fenomenol?gico de Heidegger, sobretudo nos textos e prele??es da d?cada de 1920. Por isso, outros dois conceitos aparecem como fundamentais a esta pesquisa: ?vis?o de mundo? e ?teologia?. Ambos os termos s?o caracterizados pelo fil?sofo alem?o no per?odo destacado. The thesis aims to interpret the philosophy of negative Platonism, which Jan Patočka developed during the 1950s. In the first part, negative Platonism, whose preliminary notion is derived from the interpretation of the eponymous programme essay, is studied in the context of contemporary philosophical discussion and Patočka's subjectivist humanistic conception he developed in the latter half of the 1940s as well as his lectures on classical philosophy. The second part contains author's own systematic interpretation of negative Platonism, including the reconstruction of the textual corpus of Patočka's programme. Finally, the third part, which considers first the inspirational sources of the observed project, reviews negative Platonism and outlines a concept, with which Patočka replaced negative Platonism in the late 1950s. The thesis aims to outline the philosophy of negative Platonism as an important stage in Patočka's philosophical development as well as a significant part of the modern history of European thinking.

Kyrkoherdens lön i Björklinge församling 1910-1932 : En undersökning av dess vardagliga funktion med grund i Martin Heideggers Vara och tid

Den här magisteruppsatsen förenar de tre områdena Svenska kyrkans ekonomiska historia, svensk lönebildningshistoria och Martin Heidegger. Jag hävdar inledningsvis att prästerskapets löner är den bästa utgångspunkten för en ekonomisk-historiker som vill ta sig an Svenska kyrkan, och konstaterar mot bakgrund av tidigare forskning om lönebildning på den svenska arbetsmarknaden att lönebegreppet i bristande utsträckning har bearbetats på den mikrohistoriska nivå jag väljer att kalla ”den mänskliga tillvarons nivå”. För att angripa denna nivå definierar jag lönebegreppet utifrån Martin Heideggers teori om människan och hennes möjligheter i den vardagliga världen. Med grund i Heideggers Vara och tid analyserar jag löneutbetalningarna i kontanter till kyrkoherden i Björklinge församling 1910-1932, samt prästgården som var knuten till tjänsten. Resultaten visar att Heideggers ontologi kan vara fruktbar att använda, men att tillämpbarheten vid empiriska studier ännu är begränsad, och att fortsatt teoretiskt arbete är nödvändigt. / This Master's thesis combines three fields of study, namely the economic history of the Church of Sweden, the Swedish history of wage development, and Martin Heidegger. Initially, I suggest that the wages of the clergy is the best starting point for an economic historian wishing to approach the study of the Church of Sweden. I conclude with regards to previous research on the subject of wage development on the Swedish labor market, that the term ”wage” has been dealt with to an unsatisfying degree on the microhistorical level I have opted to call ”the level of the human condition”. To approach this level I define the term ”wage” based on Martin Heidegger's theory about the human being and her possibilities in the everyday world. Starting out with Heidegger's Being and Time, I analyze the payment of cash wages to the vicar of Björklinge parish 1910-1932, as well as the parsonage tied to that position. The results show that the use of Heidegger's ontology can prove fruitful, though its applicability in matters of empirical studies is yet limited, and that continued theoretical work is needed.

This subject was worked in the light of religion philosophy horizon and is called “the leap between the beginnings of thought”. From this subject, we could glimpse the possibility to inscribe the being’s thought in another measurement, which related to the leap. The measurement of the leap is that allows us to do a speech about being, not only from metaphysical philosophy but also shading in other possibility to say the Being truth, His essential event. On horizon of the measurement that oscillates between the same and the other, gathered of the leap between the beginnings of thought speech, the religious dimension is glimpsed through own experience to do a speech about being, that is, about the start from the beginning of thought.

Startpunkt tas i en egenupplevd erfarenhet från ett mötesrum på en förlossningsavdelning och skildras utifrån mitt förstapersonsperspektiv som utomstående konsult. Situationen berättar om relationella konflikter och organisatoriska problem på sjukhuset, en olustig atmosfär i mötesrummet, samt min upplevelse av att vara förställd och malplacerad såväl som mitt agerande. Essän prövar att belysa denna situation med hjälp av Martin Heideggers tankevärld och då specifikt områdena tal och stämning. Ett fenomenologiskt förhållningssätt till situationen intas, där essän genom Heideggers begrepp söker fånga den praktiska kunskap som låg till grund för att den blev som den blev. / This scientific essay aims at investigating the phenomenon of employee surveys. The starting point is a personally experienced event from a meeting room in a maternity ward, depicted from my first˗person perspective as an external consultant. The event tells about relational conflicts and organizational problems at the hospital, an uneasy mood in the meeting room, and my feelings of falsity and being inept as well as my actions. The essay tries to illuminate this event with help from the ideas and reasoning of Martin Heidegger, and specifically his discussions in the areas of talk and mood. A phenomenological approach to the event is taken, where the essay through Heidegger's concepts seeks to capture the practical knowledge that formed the basis for the event turning out as it did.

The City as Socio-Ontology : Community, Locality and Social Space within a Minor City in Southern Sweden

In sociology in general, community is often seen as an expression for something seriously threatened or even destroyed by modernity. In urban sociology, this question has traditionally manifested itself in a ‘search exhibition’ of communal bonds within the city landscape. This analytical approach tends to split up ‘community’ and ‘city’ into two different forms of social experience. By adopting a socio-ontological approach, this study argues that experiences of community cannot be ontologically separated from experiences of the city. The aim of this study is to examine how the interviewees, living in the same neighborhood within a minor city in southern Sweden, create a perception of the city as a whole in relation to their own positioning therein. From this aim, two research questions have been formulated as follows: How is Milltown socio-ontologically constituted as a social space of relations? And: How do the interviewees construct a purified community? In order to examine this, nine in-depth interviews were conducted with residents in a middle class neighborhood (Greenwood), located in a minor city in southern Sweden (Milltown). The material was analyzed using a socio-ontological approach combined with Pierre Bourdieu’s concepts of social space and habitus, and Richard Sennett’s concepts of purified community and collective personality.   The results of this study show how the perceived social complexity of Milltown as a whole is purified into an authentic experience of community. Greenwood is being constituted as a private sphere, which is isolated from the rest of the city. Greenwood represents a simplification of the social environment within the city landscape, where personal feelings and values are projected. It is also shown how interaction between neighbors in Greenwood is almost completely absent, and how the interviewees compensate this absence by constructing a collective personality. This collective personality envisages how they are the same, rather than what they actually do in their relations to each other. The feelings of belonging stem from shared expectations that neighbors have on each other, rather than from interactions. Finally, the results show how this purified community identity is constructed against other neighborhoods in Milltown, which are seen to represent different ways-of-life.   This study contributes to a more complex understanding of how feelings of belonging are constituted in relation to a specific locality, but also how this understanding enables a perception of the city as a whole. Accordingly, insights have been achieved on how recent attempts to ‘redefine’ the community concept in sociology can be used empirically, and to be further built upon theoretically. Further, urban sociology has traditionally been concerned with big cities. This study argues that the urban sociological tradition has exaggerated the differences between minor and larger cities. The argument is that minor cities should be approached as socially complex milieus as well, where people are aware of each other but do not know each other. Gesellschaft relations should therefore not be understood as something exclusive to the metropolis, but rather as a condition of life in modernity in general. Finally, this study also gives an insight about the mechanisms behind voluntary segregation. This is a matter that is often neglected in urban sociological research, which traditionally has worked in paradigm of poverty, thus focusing on stigmatized neighborhoods.

Seduction is Not Yet Betrayal: Trust and the Essence of Truth for Heidegger and Freud

Thesis advisor: Jeffrey Bloechl / This project takes up the old question of the nature of truth by seeking to say, at one stroke, both what enables truth and falsity and what lets them matter to us so centrally. Somehow, we as human beings are fundamentally connected to a world in which the truth of statements and the genuineness of things can matter to us deeply and coherently. And yet, I try to show, this coherent unity between being and thinking can also be radically (if not always permanently) broken in the experience of psychosis. I argue that the source of that vulnerable unity must be a contingent event in which I find myself disposed trustingly toward the world, and therein find the world disclosed as trustworthy. Such primitive trust is phenomenally related to trusting a person, and Freudian psychoanalysis shows us that it develops psychologically through relation to a person. As what fundamentally structures self and world, however, this kind of attunement transcends psychology. Our very access to the being of things, i.e., to their compelling importance and organized significance, depends upon it. Thus, I support Martin Heidegger's account of the essence of truth as what first makes accessible the comparisons (between word and thing, for example) on which more traditional theories of truth are based. Yet I also confront Heidegger's phenomenological version of trust by highlighting what is at stake ontologically in our interpersonal psychic development, which psychoanalysis reveals to take place by way of seduction. Heidegger assumes that being must show itself, even if in a concealed way, and thus always takes absence as withdrawal or absencing, rather than as a radical break. By attending to the meaningful phenomena of psychosis, I defend the thesis that our relation to the world is instead opened up and sustained by a fundamental affective attunement (trust) that can dramatically fail. In other words, I try to show that we are exposed to a more radical kind of concealment than Heidegger's thinking of truth seems able to do justice to, a failure of being that can thoroughly overwhelm us. / Thesis (PhD) — Boston College, 2014. / Submitted to: Boston College. Although there is a significant difference in the way each of the philosophers present their thought, we maintain that there is a very important bond with respect to presuppositions and questions involving each conception. To endorse that thesis, the first step was to develop the perspective from which it would be possible to prove the existence of such a bond. In order to do so, it was important to explain how philosophical conceptions relate to each other by way of concepts, themes and theoretical convictions. For the purpose of accomplishing this task, it was necessary to develop an approach, which was thought in three distinct stages: interpretation, comparison and evaluation. In the part devoted to interpretation, we sought to make clear the set of beliefs that constitute the philosophical position of Heidegger. In addition, the main themes where these convictions are articulated were presented. This stage served as a basis for the Hermeneutic Phenomenology to be compared with the systematic structural conception. In comparing such conceptions, we list those themes and assumptions that we consider the fundamental links of the philosophical bond between both understandings. From this it was possible, finally, to evaluate the positive and negative aspects, as well as the amplitude and the limitation of each approach. / Este estudo trata de alguns aspectos referentes ? rela??o entre a Fenomenologia Hermen?utica de Martin Heidegger e a Filosofia Estrutural Sistem?tica de Lorenz Puntel. Embora exista uma diferen?a significativa no modo por meio do qual cada um dos fil?sofos apresenta o seu pensamento, sustentamos que h? um v?nculo muito importante no que diz respeito aos pressupostos e quest?es envolvendo cada uma das concep??es. Para comprovar essa tese, o primeiro passo consistiu em desenvolver a perspectiva a partir da qual seria poss?vel confirmar a exist?ncia desse v?nculo. However, the current situation is quite peculiar: the recent prohibitionist policy on War on Drugs, the synthesis of psychoactive principles and unrestrained production of new drugs are just some of the facts that converge with a staggering abuse, compulsion and dependence, setting up a significant increase in drug use over the past decades. To understand the use of drugs in Modernity, the traditional scientific approach is not sufficient, because it proceeds from the sectioning of this phenomenon, dismantling it from the broader historical event in which it is originally immersed. Through Martin Heidegger's hermeneutic phenomenology, the aim is to understand the current relationship between man and drugs, directly marked by the event of Modernity: technique / O uso de drogas permeia a história da humanidade desde seus primórdios. No entanto, a situação atual é deveras peculiar: a recente política proibicionista de guerra às drogas, a síntese de princípios psicoativos e produção desenfreada de novas drogas são apenas alguns dos fatos que convergem com um aumento vertiginoso do abuso, compulsão e dependência, configurando um significativo acréscimo do uso ao longo das últimas décadas. Para compreender o uso de drogas na Modernidade, a postura científica tradicional faz-se insuficiente, uma vez que parte de um seccionamento do referido fenômeno, desarticulando-o com o acontecimento histórico mais amplo no qual ele se encontra originariamente imerso.
