Obtivemos condições necessárias e suficientes para a existência de ideais maximais e demos uma caracterização completa do radical de Brown McCoy em R[x; σ.]. Para o caso R[x; d] fizemos o mesmo estudo e obtemos resultados completos para o caso em que R é um anel comutativo, ou R é uma Q-álgebra. Estudamos condições necessárias e condições suficientes para que um ideal seja principal em R[x; σ ; d]. Finalmente, demos uma completa caracterização do centróide estendido de imagens holomórficas de skew anel de polinômios. / Let R be a ring, ›σ an automorphism of R and d a ›σ derivation of R. In this thesis, we studied different questions in skew polynomial rings. Mekanisk nötning och UV-ljus påverkan på skaltygers funktionalitet

Skaljackor är ett praktiskt plagg för att reglera komforten för användaren. Detta gör de genom att skaltyger kan hålla vind och väta ute samtidigt som de är genomsläppliga för vattenånga. Det är känt att funktionaliteten i skaltyger försämras med tiden men det finns fortfarande en osäkerhet om hur olika åldringsfaktorer påverkar den. Det arbete som denna rapport redovisar har utsatt fem olika tyger för mekanisk nötning och UV-exponering för att ta reda på dess påverkan på skaltygets funktionalitet. Arbetet har gjorts i syfte att öka kompetensen om hur skaltyger åldras för att kunna utveckla mer hållbara skaljackor i framtiden. Åldringen via mekanisk nötning genomfördes med 30 000 cykler tyg mot tyg i en Martindale M235 Abrasion tester. Åldring med UV-ljus genomfördes under 250h enligt ISO 105-B04:1994 i väderkammare. Därefter testades de åldrade tygerna i vattentäthet, vattenavvisning, andningsförmåga och luftgenomsläpplighet. Testerna utvärderades på icke åldrat tyg samt åldrat tyg. Resultatet visar att både UV och mekanisk nötning har en tydlig påverkan på skaltygernas funktionalitet. Det krävs dock vidare forskning för att undersöka åldringsgrad och hur de påverkar varandra. / Shell jackets are a practical garment for regulating user comfort. This is due to the fabric that keep wind and water out while still allowing moisture vapor to permeate. It is known that the functionality of the fabrics deterioate over time, but there is still an uncertainty about the impact of various aging factors. The work presented in this report subjected five different shell fabrics to abrasion and UV exposure to determine their impact on the functionality. This was done with the aim of increasing knowledge about the aging of shell fabrics in order to develop more sustainable shell jackets in the future. Aging was performed through 30 000 cycles of fabric-to-fabric abrasion using a Martindale M235 Abrasion tester, and for 250h of UV-exposure in a weather chamber according to ISO 105-B04:1994. Subsequently the aged fabrics were tested for water penetration resistance, water repellency, breathability and air permeability. The tests were evaluated on new fabrics and aged fabrics. The results indicate that both UV and abrasion have an impact on the funtionality of shell fabrics. However,further research is required to investigate the degree of aging and how they mutually affect each other. / <p>Betygsdatum 2023-06-07</p>

En studie i materialval till skor

Det är viktigt att skotillverkare väljer rätt material till deras produkter, olika material har olika fördelar och nackdelar. Den här studien har fokuserat på läder och syntetiskt läder då de är vanliga material inom skotillverkning och ofta används till samma typ av skor.  Skor måste utstå en mängd olika scenarion, det är därför viktigt att veta hur materialet som skorna är tillverkade av klarar av de scenariona. Scenariot som undersöks i den här studien är hur materialegenskaperna förändras när de är blöta. Skor kommer alltid att utsättas för fukt, det kan vara ifrån regn och det kan vara ifrån svett. Det är viktigt att se hur slitaget på materialen förändras om de är blöta för att om de blir väsentligt sämre så spelar det ingen roll hur mycket de håller för när de är torra.  Genom att göra tre olika slitagetester på materialen i torrt och blött tillstånd är det möjligt att se hur vattnet påverkar vilket slitage materialen klarar av. Det går även att tyda om slitaget sker annorlunda när materialen är blöta. Testerna som används för att undersöka materialen är Martindale, dragprov och rivtest.  Det syntetiska lädret får snarlika resultat i dragprov och rivtest oavsett om det är blött eller torrt, men i Martindale testet minskar slitaget avsevärt när materialet är mättat med vatten. Lädret ser en kraftig höjning i vilken belastning det klarar under dragprovet då det är blött istället för torrt. Under rivtestet och Martindale testet är resultaten förhållandevis lika. Förslag på vidare tester innefattar fler tester på läder och syntetiskt läder samt att det skulle krävas tester för alla delar av en sko för att det ska vara implementerbart. Resultat från den här studien gäller endast för de typer av läder och syntetiskt läder som har testats. / <p>Betyg 20210222</p>

Vattentäta och ”andande” textilier / Waterproof and ”breathable” textiles

Rapporten innefattar en jämförande studie mellan olika typer av membran och beläggningar.Främst sker en jämförelse mellan materialens förmåga att andas. Vattentäthet testas på nyamaterial och efter olika sorters nötning så som martindale, flexing och tvätt för att få en ökadförståelse för materialen. Verktyget som används i studien för att mätaånggenomsläppligheten är hudmodellen. Resultatet presenteras med ett Ret-värde vilket är enförkortning på Evaporative resistance of a textile. Metoden används för att på ett bra sättsimulera hur huden svettas.Projektet har utförts på Swerea IVF som är ett forskningsinstitut beläget i Mölndal.Hudmodellen är en av de senaste stora investeringarna på Swereas textil och plast avdelning.Resultatet av studien visar att laminat andas bättre än beläggningar, dock har bärarmaterialetstor inverkan på resultaten. Ett tydligt samband mellan grövre material och sämre andning harobserverats. Många av de material som testats i studien uppvisar god förmåga att andas, därbåde flera av de mikroporösa och hydrofila materialen uppvisar Ret-värden under 13, vilketinnebär mycket god andning. En delstudie har varit att testa hur materialens andande förmågaförändras vid lägre relativ fuktighet. Resultatet blev att mikroporösa material inte påverkaslika mycket som de hydrofila materialen som då får en sämre andning.Efter de resultat studien har visat kan slutsatsen dras att tunna laminat är att föredra då högånggenomsläpplighet är ett krav. Behövs däremot ett högt motstånd mot nötning kan etttjockare material med fördel användas, vilket dock kan leda till högre ångmotstånd.This report is a comparative study between different types of membranes and coatings, thebreathability of the fabrics being the main focus of research. The fabrics&apos; waterproofness wastested on new materials and by abrasion including martindale, flexing and washing. The toolthat has been used to measure water-vapour resistance is the skin model. The result ispresented by a Ret-value, which is short for evaporative resistance of a textile. The method isused to simulate the sweating body in a realistic way. Swerea IVF is the research institutelocated in Mölndal where the project has been carried out. The skin model is one of the latestbig investments at Swereas textile and plastic department.The results of the study shows that laminates breath better than coatings. It is important topoint out, however, that the carrier has great influence on the fabric in question. In addition,the results indicate a relation between thick fabrics and less breathability. Many of thematerials that have been tested show good permeability to breath, including bothmicropourous and hydrophilic materials. Most of them demonstrate a Ret-value less than 13,which means very good breathability. Further tests also show how the breathability changeswith lower relative humidity, indicating that microporous materials are less affected thanhydrophilic materials, thus having a higher resistance to water vapour.The conclusion of the study is that thin laminates is to prefer when high breathability isrequired. If the demand is high resistance to abrasion, a thicker material is prefered, whichalso yields a higher resistance to water permability. / Program: Textilingenjörsutbildningen

Greener Water Repellency? Feasible alternatives to fluoro chemicals for DWOR treatments on textiles

BACKGROUND: Perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) have been used as durable water and oil repellent treatments in clothing for more than 50 years. The reason for its popularity is related to the chemical structure, which also makes these compounds persistent in the environment. Numerous studies have shown negative environmental and health effects related to high concentrations of perfluorinated compounds in blood serum. Due to these studies, this paper aimed to find out if perfluorinated compounds could be replaced by non-perfluorinated without compromising performance related to water and oil repellency. METHODOLOGY: A reference sample impregnated with fluorocarbons was compared with the following non-perfluorinated treatments, aliphatic polyurethane (comb polymer) organic silicone and acid (comb polymer) and hydrocarbon (dendrimer). Impregnations were subjected to abrasion, UV-radiation and washing and after each destructive treatment; oil and water repellency tests were conducted. The environmental and health effect of all treatments were examined in a theoretical study. RESULTS: Due to difficulties with the impregnation process, comparable results could only be concluded with the perfluorinated and the hydrocarbon compound. The hydrocarbon was superior the perfluorinated compound to abrasion but for usage simulation methods that allowed chemical reactions, hence UV-radiation and washing, the fluorocarbons showed better resistance. CONCLUSION: Results show that the hydrocarbon treatment could replace perfluorinated treatments commercially when only water and not oil repellency is required. The alternative treatments in this study are not yet sufficiently examined with respect to environmental and health and can therefore not be called greener with certainty. / Program: Textilingenjörsutbildningen

Senator Oliver P. Morton and Historical Memory of the Civil War and Reconstruction in Indiana

Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) / After governing Indiana during the Civil War, Oliver P. Morton acquired great national influence as a Senator from 1867 to 1877 during Reconstruction. He advocated for African American suffrage and proper remembrance of the Union cause. When he died in 1877, political colleagues, family members, and many Union veterans recalled Morton’s messages and used the occasion to reflect on the nation’s memories of the Civil War and Reconstruction. This thesis examines Indiana’s Governor and Senator Oliver P. Morton, using his postwar speeches, public commentary during and after his life, and the public testimonials and monuments erected in his memory to analyze his role in defining Indiana’s historical memories of the Civil War and Reconstruction from 1865 to 1907. The eulogies and monument commemoration ceremonies reveal the important reciprocal relationship between Morton and Union veterans, especially Indiana members of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR). As the GAR’s influence increased during the nineteenth century, Indiana members used Morton’s legacy and image to promote messages of patriotism, national unity, and Union pride. The monuments erected in Indianapolis and Washington, D. C., reflect Indiana funders’ desire to remember Morton as a Civil War Governor and to use his image to reinforce viewers’ awareness of the sacrifices and results of the war. This thesis explores how Morton’s friends, family, political colleagues, and influential members of the GAR emphasized Morton’s governorship to use his legacy as a rallying point for curating and promoting partisan memories of the Civil War and, to a lesser extent, Reconstruction, in Indiana.
