Database centric software test management framework for test metrics

Pleehajinda, Parawee 13 July 2015 (has links)
Big amounts of test data generated by the current used software testing tools (QA-C/QA-C++ and Cantata) contain a variety of different values. The variances cause enormous challenges in data aggregation and interpretation that directly affect generation of test metrics. Due to the circumstance of data processing, this master thesis introduces a database-centric test management framework for test metrics aims at centrally handling the big data as well as facilitating the generation of test metrics. Each test result will be individually parsed to be a particular format before being stored in a centralized database. A friendly front-end user interface is connected and synchronized with the database that allows authorized users to interact with the stored data. With a granularity tracking mechanism, any stored data will be systematically located and programmatically interpreted by a test metrics generator to create various kinds of high-quality test metrics. The automatization of the framework is driven by Jenkins CI to automatically and periodically performing the sequential operations. The technology greatly and effectively optimizes and reduces effort in the development, as well as enhance the performance of the software testing processes. In this research, the framework is only started at managing the testing processes on software-unit level. However, because of the independence of the database from levels of software testing, it could also be expanded to support software development at any level.

Neue Indexingverfahren für die Ähnlichkeitssuche in metrischen Räumen über großen Datenmengen / New indexing techniques for similarity search in metric spaces

Guhlemann, Steffen 06 July 2016 (has links) (PDF)
A topic of growing importance in computer science is the handling of similarity in multiple heterogenous domains. Currently there is no common infrastructure to support this for the general metric space. The goal of this work is lay the foundation for such an infrastructure, which could be integrated into classical data base management systems. After some analysis of the state of the art the M-Tree is identified as most suitable base and enhanced in multiple ways to the EM-Tree retaining structural compatibility. The query algorithms are optimized to reduce the number of necessary distance calculations. On the basis of a mathematical analysis of the relation between the tree structure and the query performance degrees of freedom in the tree edit algorithms are used to build trees optimized for answering similarity queries using a minimal number of distance calculations.

System Upgrade Verification : An automated test case study / Verifikation av Systemuppdatering : En fallstudie om automatiserad testning

Rotting Tjädermo, Viktor, Tanskanen, Alex January 2019 (has links)
We live in a society where automatization is becoming more common, whether it be cars or artificial intelligence. Software needs to be updated using patches, however, these patches have the possibility of breaking components. This study takes such a patch in the context of Ericsson, identifies what needs to be tested, investigates whether the tests can be automated and assesses how maintainable they are. Interviews were used for the identification of system and software parts in need of testing. Then tests were implemented in an automated test suite to test functionality of either a system or software. The goal was to reduce time of troubleshooting for employees without interrupting sessions for users as well as set up a working test suite. When the automated testing is completed and implemented in the test suite, the study is concluded by measuring the maintainability of the scripts using both metrics and human assessment through interviews. The result showed the testing suite proved maintainable, both from the metric point of view and from human assessment.

Symphonie Rythmique : Konstnärlig applicering av rytmiska och metriska aspekter i H. Berlioz musik / Symphonie Rythmique : Artistic application of rhythmic and metrical aspects of the music of H. Berlioz

Sendelbach, Albin January 2022 (has links)

Minimizing Blast Radius of Chaos Engineering Experiments via Steady-State Metrics Forecasting / Minimera sprängradien för Chaos Engineering-experiment via prognoser för steady-state mätvärden

Navin Shetty, Dhruv January 2023 (has links)
Chaos Engineering (CE) intentionally disrupts distributed systems by introducing faults into the system to better understand and improve their resilience. By studying these intentional disruptions, CE provides insights that help enhance system performance and the overall user experience. However, two main challenges exist: reducing the negative impact or ”blast radius” of these CE experiments without diluting the value of the CE experiment and identifying a standardized set of metrics to monitor during such CE experiments. This research addresses these challenges by monitoring application and system-level metrics known as the Golden Signals, and a steady-state metric called the Apdex score during a CE experiment. Using Pearson and Spearman correlation analyses alongside Granger Causality tests, a strong connection between the Golden Signals and Apdex score is identified. The study also introduces a new health-check system design that uses the Apdex score to automatically stop a CE experiment if a preset threshold is violated. Furthermore, the design also introduces a method for early termination of the CE experiment based on forecasted Apdex scores. This method not only limits potential system damage but also reveals key system weaknesses, striking a balance between risk and discovery.

Visuellt typinstrument : en metrologisk studie / Visual type instrument : a metrological study of typography

Möller, Kristian January 2014 (has links)
Visual Type Instrument - VTI, is a tool containing a typeface and a set of geometric calculations that generates numerical data in spreadsheets. The data is determined from the typefaces visual dimensions and is used to calculate leading, type size, margins and format. The aim is to offer, for all of those working with typography and design, a practical way to manage text, image and format in relationship to visual size. Instead of using point measurements, VTI uses a new device called Edo. An Edo is the same as one twelfth of a millimetre. This makes VTI compatible with the metric system and helps us to set text in relation to our own formats which applies namely in millimetres.    VTI uses logical arithmetic and geometry that is set in an automated process, and many choices that normally postpone the working process can be excluded. Simultaneously VTI is meant to discreetly make the user aware that more settings can be activated in line with the users own development, which makes the creative flow unaffected.    Using a metrics based on simple fractions, a mnemonic awareness is developed with the user and an understanding of how every detail fits together becomes more obvious. The typography becomes the key to any design choices that follows. The user becomes aware of the visual size, and in a cognitive way stimulated to recreate a font size regardless of the fonts limitations.
