Bakgrund Sjuksköterskor är utsatta för stress då de i yrket möter stressorer som ingår i arbetets natur. Mindfulness minskar stress utan farmakologiska läkemedel, och det finns flera interventionsmetoder som kan anpassas efter var grupps unika behov. Sjukvården behöver hitta metoder för att stärka sjuksköterskornas hälsa, då forskning visar att stressade sjuksköterskor utför vård av lägre säkerhet och kvalitet än sjuksköterskor med låg stressnivå. Dessutom orsakar de negativa konsekvenserna av stress stort lidande för sjuksköterskan och höga kostnader på individ-, arbetsgivar-, och samhällsnivå. Syfte Syftet var att undersöka hur mindfulness påverkar sjuksköterskor med stressymptom. Metod Induktiv litteraturöversikt i vilken artiklar med kvantitativ metodik sammanställdes. Artiklar söktes i databaserna Cinahl och PsychArticles, analyserades enligt Fribergs femstegsmodell och sammanställdes i en tabell. Resultat Artiklarna visade att mindfulness har statistiskt signifikant effekt oavsett interventionsmetod, om sjuksköterskorna får vägledning. Oönskade stressymptom minskade, och sjuksköterskornas KASAM ökade genom att symptom som ökar en individs förmåga att uppleva begriplighet, hanterbarhet och meningsfullhet ökade. Slutsats Mindfulness ökar KASAM och flera parametrar av hälsa hos sjuksköterskor med stressymptom, och kan hjälpa sjuksköterskor att hantera stressorer som är svåra eller omöjliga att eliminera i deras yrke. / Background Nurses are under stress since, in their occupation, they deal with stressors which are parts of the workcontent. Mindfulness decreases stress without pharmacological drugs and there are several methods to practice mindfulness in, which may be adapted to the unique needs of each group. The healthcare need to find methods to strengthen the health of nurses, since research show nurses under stress perform care of lower safety and quality to the patients, than those unstressed. Besides, the negative consequences of stress cause great suffering for the nurse, and high costs at individual, employer and societal level. Aim The aim was to examine how mindfulness affects nurses with stress symptoms. Method An inductive literature review in which articles of quantitative design were compiled. Articles were searched for in the databases of Cinahl and PsychArticles, analyzed according to the Fivesteps-modell of Fribergs and compiled into a chart. Results The articles showed mindfulness has statistically significant effect regardless of method, if the nurses obtain guidance. Unwanted stress symptoms decreased, and the nurses´ KASAM increased by the increase of symptoms strengthening an individual´s ability to experience comprehensibility, manageability and meaningfulness. Conclusion Mindfulness increases KASAM and several parameters of health for nurses suffering from stress sympthoms, and may help nurses to handle stressors which are difficult or impossible to eliminate in their occupation.

Previous issue date: 2016-11-03 / Introdução: A flexibilidade psicológica tem sido considerada um preditor importante de qualidade de vida. A esquiva de experiência, por sua vez, está relacionada à diversas doenças. Indicadores de saúde sobre trabalhadores dos serviços de Atenção Primária (APS) apontam elevados índices de esgotamento profissional e de transtornos mentais na categoria. Objetivos: O presente estudo avalia a precisão e validade de construto dos fatores da versão brasileira da escala AAQ-2 (Escala de Aceitação e Ação II), investigando possíveis relações com medidas de ansiedade, mindfulness e autocompaixão nesta população. Métodos: O estudo, do tipo transversal correlacional, com medidas obtidas com a técnica de autorrelato, foi constituído de uma amostra de 407 profissionais da APS e utilizou questionário sociodemográfico e escalas AAQ-2, HADS, FFMQ e SCS como instrumentos. Os dados demográficos foram analisados por meio de estatística descritiva padrão. A análise fatorial confirmatória foi realizada para analisar a dimensionalidade do AAQ-2 e a consistência interna foi examinada com base no coeficiente α Cronbach. Coeficientes r de Pearson foram calculados entre os fatores da AAQ-II e as escalas HADS e SCS para avaliar as correlações. Resultados: A média de idade desses profissionais foi de 41, 12 (10,10) anos, 84,5% são do sexo feminino, 70,3% vivem com companheiro. No que se refere à ocupação profissional, 17,7% são médicos, 25,1% enfermeiras e 57,2% outros (agentes comunitários, dentistas etc). A categoria em estudo apresentou altos índices de ansiedade e depressão correlacionados à inflexibilidade psicológica, medida pela AAQ-II. Conclusões: Os resultados encontrados apontam o AAQ-2 como um instrumento válido para a população de profissionais da Atenção Primária à Saúde no Brasil, apresentando boa consistência interna. Há forte correlação positiva entre escores de ansiedade/depressão e inflexibilidade psicológica, bem como em autocompaixão e mindfulness. / Introduction: The psychological flexibility has been considered an important predictor of quality of life. Experiential avoidance, in turn, is related to various diseases. Health indicators on workers of Primary Care Services indicate high levels of burnout and mental disorders in the category. Objectives: This study evaluates the internal consistency and construct validity of the factors of the Brazilian version of AAQ-2 scale (Acceptance and Action Questionnaire), correlating them with measures of anxiety, mindfulness and self-compassion in this population. Method: The study, correlational cross-sectional, with measurements obtained by self-report technique consisted of a sample universe of 407 PHC professionals and used sociodemographic questionnaire and the AAQ-II scales, HADS, FFMQ and SCS as instruments. Demographic data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Confirmatory Factor analysis were used to analyze the dimensionality of AAQ-II and the internal consistency was examined based on the Cronbach α coefficient. Correlations Pearson's r were made between the AAQ-II factors and the HADS scales and SCS to assess the correlations. Results: The mean age of these workers is 41, 12 (10,10) years, 84.5% were female, 70.3% live with a partner. With regard to occupation, 17.7% are physicians, nurses 25.1% and 57.2% other (community workers, dentists etc). The category study reported high levels of anxiety and depression related to psychological inflexibility, as measured by AAQ-II. Conclusions: The AAQ-II seems to be a valid instrument in the population of Primary Care Providers in Brazil, with good internal consistency.There is a strong positive correlation between scores of anxiety / depression and psychological inflexibility, as well as in self-compassion and mindfulness. / BV UNIFESP: Teses e dissertações

Kabat-Zinn como “prestar atenção de maneira particular, intencionalmente, no momento
presente e sem julgamentos” As intervenções baseadas em Mindfulness têm se mostrado
eficazes para vários problemas de saúde, principalmente para depressão, estresse, doenças
crônicas e para prevenção de recaídas de uso de substâncias. Objetivo: traduzir, adaptar e
apresentar evidências de validade da Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS) e do Five
Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ), que aferem níveis de Mindfulness de forma
unidimensional e multidimensional, respectivamente, para língua portuguesa do Brasil.
Método: A validação da MAAS e do FFMQ foi realizada através de estudo transversal,
correlacional, de metodologia quantitativa, com uma amostra total de 395 participantes,
divididos entre pacientes de uma instituição pública de tratamento para dependência de
tabaco, de uma Unidade de Atenção Primária à Saúde (UAPS) de Juiz de Fora, de
estudantes universitários e de meditadores. Os instrumentos utilizados foram: Questionário
sócio-demográfico, teste de Dependência de Nicotina de Fagerström, MAAS, FFMQ e a
Escala de Bem-Estar Subjetivo (EBES). Este estudo foi dividido em duas fases. A primeira
consistiu no processo de tradução e a adaptação cultural dos instrumentos que constou de
cinco passos - tradução, síntese, retrotradução, revisão por comitê de especialistas e pré
teste. Após os ajustes necessários, prosseguiu-se à segunda fase do estudo que consistiu na
avaliação das propriedades psicométricas dos instrumentos. Foram analisadas a validade
de construto e de critério e sua fidedignidade. Resultados: A partir da análise fatorial
exploratória, a estrutura unidimensional da MAAS explicou 31,98% da variância total da
escala. O FFMQ foi composto por 7 fatores devido à divisão dos fatores descrever e agir
com consciência em dois novos fatores cada, diferente da escala original. Como esperado,
o escore total da MAAS e do FFMQ- Brasil se correlacionaram positivamente com todos
os fatores e com o escore geral da EBES (p< 0,001). Na validade de critério observou-se
que para todas as facetas do FFMQ e para o seu escore total, foi observada diferença
significativa entre os meditadores e não meditadores No entanto, para a MAAS não foi
obtida diferença significativa entre os grupos. Nas análises de fidedignidade da MAAS, o
alfa de Cronbach da escala total, considerando seus 15 itens foi 0,83 e o coeficiente
Spearman-Brown (split half) foi 0,67. No teste-reteste, o valor do coeficiente de correlação
linear de Pearson foi 0,80 (p< 0,001). No FFMQ, o alfa de Cronbach da escala total foi
0,81 e os valores dos alfas das facetas foram: Não Julgar a Experiência Interna (α=0,78),
Agir com Consciência - piloto automático (α=0,79), Observar (α=0,76), Descrever – itens
positivos (α=0,76), Descrever – itens escritos na negativa (α=0,75), Não Reagir à
Experiência Interna (α=0,68 ) e Agir com Consciência – distração (α=0,63 ). Os valores de
todas as correlações obtidas no teste-reteste foram significativas, com valores de p<0,001:
FFMQ total (0,90), Não Julgar a Experiência Interna (0,80), Agir com Consciência - piloto
automático (0,67), Observar (0,83), Descrever – itens com formulação positivos (0,85),
Descrever – itens com formulação negativa (0,71), Não Reagir à Experiência Interna
(0,72) e Agir com Consciência – distração (0,80). Conclusões: Estes dados confirmam a
existência de evidências de validade de construto e de fidedignidade para ambas as escalas
e de validade de critério para o FFMQ. / Introduction: Mindfulness refers to a metacognitive skill, defined by Jon Kabat-Zinn as
"paying attention in a particular way, intentionally, in the present moment and non
judgmentally" The Mindfulness-based interventions have proven effective for many health
problems, especially for depression, stress, chronic disease and relapse prevention among
substance users. Objective: To translate, adapt and present evidence of validity of the
Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS) and the Five Facet Mindfulness
Questionnaire (FFMQ) to the Brazilian Portuguese language. Methods: The validation of
the MAAS and FFMQ was performed through a cross-sectional and correlational study
using a quantitative methodology, with a total sample of 395 participants, composed by
patients of a public institution of treatment for tobacco dependence, a Unit of Primary
Health (UAP) in Juiz de Fora, university students and meditators. The instruments used
were: socio-demographic questionnaire, Fagerström Test for Nicotine Dependence,
MAAS, FFMQ and Subjective Well-Being Scale (EBES). This study was divided into two
phases. The first was the process of translation and cultural adaptation of instruments that
consisted of five steps - translation, synthesis, back translation, expert committee review
and pretesting. After the necessary adjustments, we proceeded to the second phase of the
study that consisted of the evaluation of the psychometric properties of the instruments.
We analyzed the construct and criterion validity and its reliability. Results: From the
exploratory factor analysis, the unidimensional structure of the MAAS explained 31.98%
of the total variance of the scale. The FFMQ was composed of 7 factors due to the division
of the factors “describe” and “act with awareness” in two new factors, different from the
original scale. As expected, the total score of the MAAS and the FFMQ-BR positively
correlated with all factors and the overall score of the EBES (p <0.001). In criterion
validity evaluation, we observed a significant difference regarding the meditators and non
meditators scores for all facets of FFMQ and its total score. However, for the MAAS there
was not a significant difference between the groups. In the MAAS reliability analysis,
Cronbach's alpha of the total scale considering its 15 items was 0.83 and the Spearman
Brown coefficient (split half) was 0.67. In the test-retest reliability, the Pearson coefficient
was 0.80 (p <0.001). In FFMQ, Cronbach's alpha of the total scale was 0.81 and the values
of the alphas of the facets were: “Nonjudging the Internal Experience” (α = 0.78), “Acting
with Awareness – Autopilot” (α = 0.79), “Observe” (α = 0.76), “Describe - positive items”
(α = 0.76), “Describe – items with negative formulation” (α = 0.75), “Nonreact to Internal
Experience” (α = 0.68) and “Act with awareness- distraction” (α = 0.63). The values of all
correlations for test-retest were significant, with p values <0.001: FFMQ total (0.90),
Nonjudging the Inner Experience (0.80), Act with Awareness - Autopilot (0.67 ), Observe
(0.83), Describe - items with positive formulation (0.85), Describe - items with negative
formulation (0.71), Nonreact to Internal Experience (0.72) and Act with Awareness -
distraction (0.80). Conclusions: These data confirm the existence of evidence of construct
validity and reliability for both scales and criterion validity for FFMQ.

O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar os efeitos do programa intitulado Mindful Creative Thinking (MCT) sobre o nível da criatividade verbal de estudantes universitários de uma escola de negócios. Evidências científicas apontam efeitos positivos das práticas de mindfulness e das forças de caráter cognitivas no desenvolvimento da criatividade verbal. O programa MCT, desenvolvido no presente estudo e de autoria do próprio pesquisador, combina práticas de mindfulness e práticas das forças de caráter, integradas com práticas de treinamento do pensamento criativo. As variáveis estudadas foram fluência (número de ideias), flexibilidade (número de categorias) e originalidade (novidade estatística das respostas). O estudo exploratório utilizou métodos quanti-qualitativos e abordagem analítica de ensaio controlado antes-e-depois (before and after study) com amostra randomizada. O programa MCT foi realizado com 51 graduandos da Faculdade de Administração, Economia e Contabilidade (FEA-RP/USP) de Ribeirão Preto. Os estudantes foram divididos em dois grupos: Experimental (26 participantes) e Controle (25 participantes). Os dados foram coletados por meio da aplicação do Teste de Torrance, Questionário das Cinco Facetas de Mindfulness e de questionário com questões abertas (Questionário MCT), elaborado pelo pesquisador. O resultado da pesquisa demonstrou que o programa Mindful Creative Thinking contribuiu para o desenvolvimento das habilidades criativas e influenciou positivamente no nível de atenção plena dos graduandos. / The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of the Mindful Creative Thinking (MCT) program on the level of verbal creativity of university students in a business school. Scientific evidence points to the positive effects of mindfulness practices and cognitive character forces in the development of verbal creativity. The MCT program, developed in the present study and authored by the researcher himself, combines practices of mindfulness and practices of character forces, integrated with practices of training of creative thinking. The variables studied were fluency (number of ideas), flexibility (number of categories) and originality (statistical novelty of the answers). The exploratory study used quantitative-qualitative methods and analytical approach of a randomized sample before and after study. The MCT program was carried out with 51 graduates from the Faculty of Administration, Economics and Accounting (FEA-RP / USP) of Ribeirão Preto. The students were divided into two groups: Experimental (26 participants) and Control (25 participants). The data were collected through the application of the Torrance Test, Questionnaire of Five Facets of Mindfulness and a questionnaire with open questions (Questionnaire MCT), prepared by the researcher. The result of the research demonstrated that the Mindful Creative Thinking program contributed to the development of creative skills and had a positive influence on the level of attention of undergraduates.

”Att ta ett steg utanför sig själv och betrakta en situation lite annorlunda” : En kvalitativ studie om medarbetares upplevelser av mindfulness som hälsofrämjande interventionRinne, Jenny, Renberg, Lina January 2017 (has links)
Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka medarbetares upplevelser av mindfulness som hälsofrämjande intervention på en större internationell organisation. Studien har en kvalitativ metod baserad på semistrukturerade intervjuer, respondenterna utgörs av medarbetare som deltagit i ett CBMT-program i organisationen. Datamaterialet analyseras med en tematisk analys för att hitta centrala likheter och skillnader. Detta görs med hjälp av teorier om individualisering, reflexivitet, det nya arbetslivet, införandet av en hälsointervention,interaktionsritualer samt KASAM. Resultatet visar på att majoriteten av respondenterna har positiva upplevelser av mindfulness som hälsofrämjande intervention. Det visar sig även att respondenterna upplever en bättre sammanhållning på organisationen samt att de känner sig mindre stressade och mer fokuserade efter införandet av CBMT-programmet. Mindfulness i grupp upplevs även underlätta utövandet av mindfulness för de respondenter med mindre tidigare erfarenhet, det bör även framhållas att en del av respondenterna upplever mindfulness som ytterligare ett moment att hinna med om dagarna.

Bakgrund:Långvarig smärta är den vanligaste orsaken till långtidssjukskrivning. Lidandet för individen är omfattande och ur ett samhälleligt perspektiv är det både kostsamt och resurskrävande. När en smärta utvecklas till en långvarig smärta blir situationen komplex. För att behandla långvarig smärta krävs en kombination av flera behandlingsmetoder, en så kallad multimodal rehabilitering. Denna litteraturöversikt är inriktad på att utforska kunskapsläget när det gäller mindfulness och dess betydelse vid långvarig smärta.Syfte:Syftet med denna litteraturöversikt är att beskrivavilken betydelsemindfulness har för personer med långvarig smärta.Metod: Metoden som används är en litteraturöversikt som innefattar 15 kvantitativa artiklar.Resultat:Resultatet påvisar vissa signifikanta förbättringar inomområdena; smärtacceptans och smärthantering, smärtrelaterad stress, smärtintensitet och smärtskattning, medvetenhet, sömn och sömnproblematik, livskvalitet, mentala aspekter, fysiologiska aspekter och läkemedelsanvändning.Slutsats: Det kan finnas fördelar med utövande av mindfulness för personer med långvarig smärta. För att mindfulness skall vara av betydelse krävs regelbundenhetoch långsiktighet av utövaren. Sjuksköterskan skulle haett viktigt arbete genom att kunna motivera och rekommendera denna form av rehabilitering som ett komplement till befintliga metoderom detta var en accepterad rekommendation. / Background: Long-term pain is the most common reason why people are long-term sicklisted. The individuals’ suffering is enormous and from a societal perspective it is both resource-demanding and expensive. When pain evolves into long-term pain it becomes complex. To treat long-term pain requires a combination of many treatment methods. This literature review focuses on exploring the state of knowledge when it comes to mindfulness and its value on long-term pain.Aim:The aim of this literature review is to describethe value of mindfulness for people with long-term pain.Methods:The method is a literature review and it includes 15 quantitative studies.Results: The result show some significant improvements in the areas of; pain acceptance and pain interference, pain related stress, pain intensity and pain assessment, awareness, sleep quality and sleeping problems, quality of life, psychological and physiological aspects andanalgesic use.Conclusion: There can be benefits with practicingmindfulness for people with long-term pain. In order for mindfulness to be of value it is necessary to practice it regularly and have a long-term perspective. The nurse would have an important role to playto motivate and recommend thisform of rehabilitation as a complement to existing methodsif it was accepted by authorities.

Smittar medveten närvaro? : En studie om huruvida tillståndsbaserad mindfulness kan överföras genom röstenLind, Torulf January 2020 (has links)
Syftet med studien var att undersöka om tillståndsbaserad mindfulness kan överföras mellan personer genom rösten. Fyrtiotre försöksdeltagare i åldrarna 18–75 år varav 17 kvinnor och 26 män exponerades i randomiserad ordning för fyra inspelade ljudfiler: två med röster som tillhör personer med hög respektive låg tillståndsbaserad mindfulness, ett lugnt klassiskt musikstycke samt tystnad. Förändringen i tillståndsbaserad mindfulness mättes med välbefinnandeinstrumentet International Positive and Negative Affect Schedule Short-Form (I-PANAS-SF). Välbefinnandet mättes före och efter exponering för ljudfilerna och förändringarna analyserades med separata t-tester som inte visade på några signifikanta effekter. Skillnaderna i förändrat välbefinnande mellan ljudfilerna analyserades med en ANOVA som visade på en signifikant skillnad mellan musikstycket och rösten som tillhör en person med låg tillståndsbaserad mindfulness samt mellan musikstycket och tystnad. Förslag på förbättringar av experimentuppställningen för att höja validitet och reliabilitet i mätningen diskuteras. / The purpose of this study was to investigate if state mindfulness can be transferred between people through the voice. Forty three participants within the age span of 18-75; 17 women and 26 men; were exposed to four audio files in randomized order containing a voice belonging to a person at a high level of state mindfulness, a voice belonging to a person at a low level of state mindfulness, a calm piece of classical music and silence. The change in state mindfulness was measured with the wellbeing schedule International Positive and Negative Affect Schedule Short-Form (I-PANAS-SF). Wellbeing was measured before and after exposure to the audio files and the changes were analyzed with separate t-tests that revealed no significant effects. The differences in changes of wellbeing between the audio files were analyzed with an ANOVA resulting in av significant difference between the classical piece of music and the voice belonging to a person at a low level of state mindfulness as well as between the classical piece of music and silence. Improvements of the experimental design are discussed.

Bakgrund: Hälso- och sjukvårdspersonal har ett yrke med hög arbetsbelastning som riskerar att leda till arbetsrelaterad stress som i sin tur kan leda till att patientvården påverkas. Det resulterar även i hög sjukfrånvaro, extra ekonomiska utgifter och hög personalomsättning. Följden av detta blir att samhället och organisationen förlorar både kompetens och ekonomiska medel. De senaste åren har användandet av mindfulness uppmärksammats inom den svenska hälso- och sjukvården. Den hittills genomförda forskningen tyder på att mindfulness kan ha gynnsamma effekter så som stressminskning, avslappning och förbättring av livskvalitén. Syfte: Syftet med litteraturöversikten var att sammanställa aktuell forskning om mindfulness som intervention vid arbetsrelaterad stress hos hälso- och sjukvårdspersonal. Metod: Studien genomfördes som en litteraturöversikt där 15 vetenskapliga artiklar med kvantitativ, kvalitativ samt mixad ansats inkluderades. Sökningarna gjordes via databaserna PubMed, CINAHL och PsycINFO. Resultat: I resultatet framkom det två kategorier: Mindfulness-baserade interventioner som kan användas för att hantera arbetsrelaterad stress samt mindfulness påverkan vid arbetsrelaterad stress. Resultatet visade att mindfulnessträning har en reducerande påverkan på stress, utmattning, depression och ångest samt en ökning av medkänsla och medveten närvaro. Slutsats: Mindfulness har en mängd olika variationer av interventioner som kan vara fördelaktiga för att minska hälso- och sjukvårdspersonalens stress. Mindfulness som intervention har potential att effektivt minska arbetsrelaterad stress bland hälso- och sjukvårdpersonal. Litteraturöversiktens resultat är relevant för att minska stressnivå hos hälsooch sjukvårdspersonal vilket medför minskade vårdkostnader samt öka förutsättningar för att ge god och säker vård till patienten. / Background: Health care professionals have a profession with a high workload that risks leading to work-related stress, which in turn can lead to patient care being affected. It also results in high sick leave, extra financial expenses and high staff turnover. The consequence of this is that society and the organization lose both competence and financial resources. In recent years, the use of mindfulness has gained attention in Swedish health care. The research conducted so far suggests that mindfulness can have beneficial effects such as stress reduction, relaxation, and improving the quality of life. Aim: The purpose of the literature review was to compile current research on mindfulness as an intervention to manage work-related stress among health care professionals. Method: The study was conducted as a literature review which included 15 scientific articles with a quantitative, qualitative and mixed-method. The searches were made through the databases PubMed, CINAHL and PsycINFO. R esults: In the result, two categories emerged: Mindfulness-based interventions that can be used to deal with work-related stress and mindfulness impact on work-related stress. The results showed that mindfulness training has a reducing effect on stress, burnout, depression and anxiety, as well as an increase in compassion and conscious presence. Conclusion: Mindfulness has a variety of interventions that can be beneficial in reducing the stress of health care professionals. Mindfulness as an intervention has the potential to reduce work-related stress among healthcare professionals effectively. The results of the literature review are relevant to reducing the stress level of health care professionals, which results in reduced healthcare costs and increased conditions for providing good and safe care to the patient.

Exploring the relationship between mindfulness and the abilities of mixed martial arts fighters: A cognitive approach.Wu, Andley (I-Ta) January 2016 (has links)
As mindfulness is often synonymous with equanimity, the intensity of competitive mixed martial arts serves as an ideal domain in exploring the underlying cognitive process of mindfulness in enhancing performance. Within the past two decades, interest has peaked in the positive outcomes that mindfulness produces in alleviating negative symptoms in health and clinical settings. Little research exists however in exploring the cognitive processes involved in producing the potential benefits of performance enhancement. The aim of the study was to gain a better understanding of the underlying cognitive processes involved in the workings of mindfulness; exploring whether increased levels of mindfulness would be positively correlated with increased martial arts ability. Using correlational analysis and standard multivariate regression, the participating fighters’ (n=46) levels of mindfulness were analysed in relation to their mixed martial artist’s ability. Results from correlational analysis showed that overall mindfulness was positively correlated with mixed martial arts ability, as a result confirming the study’s primary hypothesis. Bakgrund: Sjuksköterskan har i sitt arbete ett stort ansvar för människors liv och hälsa. Arbetet kan dock ofta vara mycket stressigt, vilket kan leda till både stressrelaterad ohälsa hos sjuksköterskan och risk för misstag i arbetet. För att kunna utföra ett patientsäkert och ändamålsmässigt arbete, med en god vidhållen hälsa, är det viktigt med en god stresshanteringsförmåga. Mindfulness har i andra sammanhang visat sig förbättra förmågan att hantera stress. Syfte: Syftet med litteraturöversikten var att beskriva evidens för mindfulness som stressreduktion hos yrkesverksamma sjuksköterskor. Metod: Studien är en litteraturöversikt och består av 15 vetenskapliga artiklar med kvalitativ, kvantitativ samt mixad metod. Artikelsökningar är utförda i databaserna PsycINFO, PubMed och CINAHL. Resultat: Litteraturöversiktens resultat presenteras utifrån två huvudkategorier: Mindfulnessinterventioner och Effekter av mindfulness Slutsats: Mindfulnessinterventioner har i litteraturöversikten visat sig effektiva i att förbättra sjuksköterskornas förmåga att hantera stress och därmed minska stressen. Sjuksköterskors tillämpning av mindfulness kan således bidra till en ökad patientsäkerhet och mer ändamålsmässig omvårdad. / Background: The professional nurse has a great responsibility for people's lives and health. However, the work can often be very stressful, which can lead to both the stress-related ill health of the nurse and the risk of mistakes at work. In order to be able to perform a patient-safe and effective work, with good maintained health, it is important to have a good stress management ability. In other contexts, mindfulness has been shown to improve the ability to manage stress. Aim: The purpose of the literature review was to describe evidence of mindfulness as stress reduction strategy in professional nurses. Method: The study is a literature review and consists of 15 scientific articles with qualitative-, quantitative- and mixed methods. Article searches were performed in the databases CINAHL, PsycINFO, PubMed. Results: The literature review's results are presented on the basis of two main categories: Mindfulness interventions and Effects of mindfulness. Conclusion: In this literature review, mindfulness interventions have been shown to be effective in improving nurses' ability to manage stress and thus reduce stress. Nurses' application of mindfulness can thus contribute to increased patient safety and better care.
