Unknown Date (has links)
The expansion of the Internet and the fast development of information communication technologies (ICTs) have changed service deliveries of enterprises and government organizations. Many enterprises change the service model with creating a variety of APPs. Government organizations, meanwhile, provide multiple mobile services in order to maximize the competitive advantage of nations. A novel service model breaks restrictions on time and space, providing the opportunity of direct democracy for the public. Lately, the development of electronic government is entitled to extensive democracy, and electronic government becomes a new communication model. In order to realize the meaning of e-democracy and the development of governments’ online services, this research reviews the literature of electronic democracy. The author use three dimensions, including ‘electronic information’, ‘electronic service and consultation’, and ‘electronic decision making and participation’, to categorize APPs created by central and local governments. Base on the previous findings, this research selects electronic decision making and participation of APPs to construct indicators. The author reviews six types of literatures, including web service quality indicators, electronic government assessment, governmental service quality research, electronic commerce satisfaction, mayor's email-box satisfaction, and Internet resources to establish indicators of governments’ APPs. The framework and contents of indicators are revised by implementing two rounds in-depth interviews with the questionnaire. According to empirical data, this research separate indicators into two dimensions, including System Quality and Citizen Participation & Service Quality. The System Quality has three sub-dimensions, including Visual Design, Ease of Use, and Security & Privacy. Visual Design has nine indicators, such as the accuracy of APPs’ title, the simplicity of APP, etc. Ease of Use has nineteen indicators, such as the response time less than three seconds, the simplicity of APPs’ functions, etc. Security & Privacy has four indicators, such as the authority of being acceptable, proper personal informations, etc. The Citizen Participation & Service Quality has four sub-dimensions, including the Contents’ Quality of Interactions, Usability, Responsiveness, and Efficacy. The Contents’ Quality of Interactions has four indicators, such as the sufficiency of governments’ reply, the accuracy of governments’ reply, etc. Usability has three indicators, such as relative to APPs’ deal of speed than counters, 1999, and the mayor's email-boxes, applying for accounts directly in APP, etc. Responsiveness has six indicators, such as immediately response, courteous reply, etc. Efficacy has three indicators, such as understanding of the petition, customize services, etc. To sum up, indicators of government APPs have two dimensiosns, seven sub-dimensiosns and forty eight indicators. Base on those indicators, and this research further categorizes them into ‘must have’ and ‘good to have’. This framework of indicators is expected not only becoming the reference for government organizations creating APPs in the future but also improving service quality of APPs nowadays. Moreover, it is important that having to strengthen APP’s security and privacy, then governments could open data from citizen complaints and use them to create new value. Future research could explore the disability and security aspects of indicators. Moreover, future research could consider operationalize a part of indicators, and then adopt Delphi and AHP to measure robustly the consistency and weighting of indicators. Finally, the author expects the follow-up studies could conduct questionnaires to realize the fitness for indicators and condition of APP’s development.

User Preferences of Application Attributes During Product Browsing : An Investigation of Customer Experience in Fashion E-Commerce

Johansson, Anton, Sjöholm, Christoffer January 2019 (has links)
In a fast-changing retail environment, including hard competition and demanding consumers, the customer experience of the purchasing service is crucial to gain a competitive advantage. Since consumers are to some extent moving from offline to online, and from desktop shopping to purchasing clothing in a mobile application, there is a need for investigating consumers expectations of their experience of a mobile application. The existing and performance of attributes and functions determines the satisfaction of the user experience, which is why it is reasonable to investigate expectations concerning attributes. The finding and classification of quality attributes in mobile applications in the fashion industry was the main goal of this thesis. Attributes were found using a qualitative study including 16 interviews, where respondents field tested already existing applications. The reasonability to further investigate these attributes was confirmed by a literature research. After finding 35 relevant attributes, these were investigated and analysed using the Theory of Attractive Quality and a 5-level Kano questionnaire. The analysis was conducted using the Theory of Attractive Quality, classifying attributes according to the Kano chart of evaluation. Further, each attribute was analysed using tools such as better/worse diagrams and self-stated importance values. The classification results from the questionnaire were that “Choose product size” was categorised as Must-Be, “Loading speed” as One-Dimensional, eight quality attributes were combinations of classifications, and 25 were classified as Indifferent. A number of 510 respondents answered the questionnaire. The classification of attributes implies that customers are rather indifferent to attributes during their shopping experience. However, further analysis concludes that even though many attributes are classified as Indifferent, many attributes need to be considered, according to the better/worse values and diagrams, which are useful regarding resource allocation. According to the classification and better/worse diagrams, one can distinguish a difference between genders: male respondents proved to be more indifferent to their shopping experience than females. Analysis of the data also shows a difference between age groups. The two youngest age groups including respondents born in 1990-1994 and 1995-2000, had higher better and worse values, implying that younger people expect more from their shopping user experience. Conclusively, this report resulted in an overview of consumers’ expectations regarding their experience when shopping in a fashion mobile application. The Theory of Attractive Quality is a useful method when measuring perceived and expected quality; however, each investigative occasion demands different method setup, adjusting for specific attribute types, as well as business. Some improvements can be made regarding the Theory of Attractive Quality, increasing the chances of a better result.

Johnsson, Maria, Truedsson, Jesper January 2019 (has links)
Through the smartphone's breakthrough and advancement, the mobile phone has in just a few years become one of the most central parts in many individuals' lives. It is used, among other things, to keep in touch with family, friends and colleagues, to communicate and be active in different social online activities. Many people are social beings who talks and communicate with other individuals most of the time. But there is a lack of something that may seem obvious; be able to have an oral conversation with another human being without a mobile phone in any way being included in the picture.  Sherry Turkle and Professor Jean M. Twenge have been conducting research for many years on children and young adults who are frequent users of smartphones. Many of these young people have never had any choice but to have a smartphone and their entire social life exists through it. One growing phenomena is that many of these young people communicate with each other through text in their smartphones, even though they sit next to each other in the same room. Children do not play together as they did in the past and their emotional development seems to progress more slowly. The purpose of the following survey is to create a counterweight to this fosterage and, through a media-technical perspective, present a mobile application that encourages and inspires oral dialogues between individuals.

Gådin, Erik, Kylmänen, Ester, Sjöholm, Markus, Tamm, Matilda January 2019 (has links)
The development of larger cities is currently prevented by congested electricity grids. In today's modern society, it is not sensible to build new real estates without a guarantee of access to energy, both during the construction and the maintenance. Market participants who utilize the power grid simultaneously is an example of what leads to these congested grids. The cities' total energy consumption does not necessarily need be adjusted. Rather, the times of usage must be. This puts a great deal of responsibility on property owners who have a big impact on the energy consumption, because they have the power to control the consumption in their properties. Therefore, the purpose of the project was to allow the property owners in an easy-to-manage and convenient manner to inform their tenants of changes made inside the properties. The result was the implementation of an add on to a mobile application in the form of a cloud-based database, which could be connected to the database of the property's control system. Furthermore, through the application  property owners can give tenants suggestions on how they can contribute to reduce energy use. Our solution will not solve the entire capacity shortage in the  grids, but rather it is a partial solution and one step closer to a smarter electricity use and a changed user behaviour. A solution that does not require expansion of the power grid.

Desenvolvimento e uso de aplicativo móvel para monitoramento da ocorrência de mordeduras por morcegos hematófagos e suspeitas de raiva em herbívoros no Estado de São Paulo / Development and use of a mobile application to monitor the occurrence of bites by hematophagous bats and suspected rabies in herbivores in the state of São Paulo

Rabaquim, Vanessa Cristinne Victor 13 November 2017 (has links)
Monitoring of the animal population is an essential tool for the control of zoonoses and other diseases. With the technological advancement, in terms of communication, there has been an increase in the development of mobile applications. This work aims to develop a mobile application for the Android® operating system for the purpose of optimizing the notification system of bat-bitten animals and suspected rabies cases. LiveCode® Software is used for the development of the application. The application is able to connect to the database on a mobile Internet or wi fi, and allows the owner to report the incidence of bat bitten or suspected rabies in the herd, and to the veterinarian viewing and modifying the data sent by the owner of your region. Based on the data obtained in this work, it is concluded that the application meets the proposed objectives of collecting notification and optimizing the notification system. The low adherence to the application, due to the absence of Internet access by the owners, suggests the need to modify the communication system of the application with the database.

Factors for perceived trust in mobile applications

Persson, Felicia, Thorslund, Malin January 2019 (has links)
Mobile commerce can be seen as the phenomenon, which is likely to take over e-commerce since purchasing online is increasing on mobile applications (Parameswari, 2015). The problem this study addresses is the uncertainty that may follow when purchasing online via mobile applications. The purpose of this study is to investigate some human and technology factors for perceived trust in mobile applications. Human factors are defined as the same thing as user factors throughout this thesis.   This will answer the research question: What are the most important user and technology factors for perceived trust in mobile applications? The study is limited to two main areas (human and technology factors) that have been broken down into three subgroups based on perceived trust. These subgroups are: informative context for decision-making, ease of use and payment methods.   To gather data, an online self-completion questionnaire was conducted and was sent out to different social groups on Facebook. The participated segmentation resulted in needing to be modified according to uneven response rates in the different age groups. The target group went from the whole Swedish population to only people in the ages span of 16-32. The collected data was processed in the analysis program SPSS to find relations among the variables.   All the chosen factors resulted in being of great importance for users to perceived trust in mobile applications and to increase the interactivity between human and machine. However, only payment methods showed a significant value in relation to perceived trust. This result will be useful to companies when developing mobile applications to keep customers and increase sales.
