Vieira, Gilberto Hauer 05 August 1987 (has links)

The origin of this reconstitution is settled in Socrates and it's then developped until nowadays, demonstrating that the question still persists. The identification of that origin was determined by the fact that it was when the problem deserved a systematical study and was also characterized as metaphysichal. The question 'to solve concerned then what existed as an autonomous entity, that is, only the 'body', only the 'mind' or both. The solutions proposing only the existence of the mind (monists of the mind) or the existence of mind and body (dualists) would therefore become decisive to the conception of Psychology. Since a decision concerning the aforementioned problem is a condition for the development of a scientific Psychology, Chapter II establishes the conceptions adopted as science, scientific knowledge and scientific method. It's also justified why a great deal of the study should concern the realm of Philosophy of Science, particularly Philosophy of Psychology. In Chapter III, the author demonstrates with greater emphasis that the problem 'mind-body' is still metaphysical, and requires a decision. It's shown that the decision is always taken as a presupposition, if not explicit at least implicit. Once it's been demonstrated that only the body can be considered as representing something that really exists, in a metaphysical sense, the author proceeds to establish the authentic object of Psychology. A 'critical-ealistic' Philosophycal Semantic is then used In order to define this object as the set of properties of the real objet represented by the body and responsible for the manifestations that have always interested Psychology. Finally, in Chapter IV, a systemic model ro represent Nature is conceived. It's rule over by the 'law' of transformation, which results from the interaction of subsystems. Among subsystems, there are those which represent real objects and are referred to as 'Hurnan Body'. They are subjected to the same 'law'. Following the transformation of U23592 into Pb20782, two mathematical functions based on the theory of sets are built. The purpose here is to demonstrate the functioning of the law of transformation, or function of transformation, applicable to all subsystems, which are elements of the system that represent Nature. These and other constructions, when applied to systems that represent the real objects denoted as Human Body, generate a great number of consequences to Psychology. At the end, a specific model to represent the real object denoted as Human Body is presented. It is a subsystem and therefore a system composed of four subsystems: Motor, Emotional, Perceptive and Cognitive. The functioning of the whole and the parts become then ruled over by the law of Transformation.

Murr, Caroline Elisa January 2014 (has links)
Tese (doutorado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro de Filosofia e Ciências Humanas, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Filosofia, Florianópolis, 2014. / Made available in DSpace on 2015-02-05T20:40:13Z (GMT). The main purpose of this thesis is to present an interpretation that mixes and expands Erwin Schrödinger's and Bertrand Russell's ideas concerning their "views of the world", to quote their own words. We call such an interpretation "R-S expanded". It aims both to explain certain processes concerning the construction of reality, in some sense, and to describe the organization of a world which, in such context, we call "objectivated". The exposition of such a Russell-Schrödingerian approach to the present model of the world intends to identify some problems, which seem to be related to the establishment and maintenance of this kind of pattern. Besides, we suggest some small changes that can be useful to minimize those difficulties. Our starting point towards these goals is Schrödinger's construction of the objects, which follows his "Principle of Objectivation" (P.O.). According to this principle, human beings break away from objects, unconsciously at first, which constitutes an evolutionarily developed strategy to comprehend their relation to nature. We claim that the P.O.'s application produces an objectivated account of reality, which becomes divided into subjects and objects, favoring the establishment of dualisms of various kinds; for instance, the one between mind and matter. To deal with this situation, we will be relying on Russell's arguments in favor of the monism of sensations, which corroborates the thesis that experience would not be fundamentally divided this way. However, Russell insists the duality should be reintroduced, since it is necessary to a certain understanding of the notion of knowledge. Therefore, the Russell-Schrödingerian approach to the construction of the objectivated world should be an epistemological theory, as long as it involves the adoption of a certain notion of knowledge earlier to the P.O.'s application. Taking into account the deep roots the objectivated model has, not only in daily life, but also in Science and even in Philosophy, we follow Schrödinger's cautious attitude not proclaiming its complete dismantlement. Instead, we have chosen to investigate it thoroughly, from its construction to its organization, including the study of the relations implied by its configuration. Moreover, this work discusses the kind of Science which is developed in the objective world, the formation and reality criteria of its objects, and other peculiarities of what we call the "scientific sphere". Along these discussions, the case of Physics appears constantly, due both to Schrödinger's closeness to it and to its recurrence throughout Russell's works. Furthermore, we also investigate some subject related issues, such as its formation process, characterization and relationship with objects as well as another subjects in the objectivated world. In order to do so, we turn to Russell's Theory of Perception, being the topic less explored by Schrödinger than Russell. Finally, after these investigations and the critical presentation of "R-S expanded", we will be able to show some possible outcomes based on reflections offered by this thesis. We suggest that applying some of the ideas developed through this work could contribute to enrich important theoretical discussions in Philosophy, just as to make effective changes concerning some negative aspects of the prospect of the world as objectivatedly constituted.

Meditação e monismo de triplo aspecto /

Leite, Edilene de Souza. January 2017 (has links)
Abstract: Research on meditation in many fields of investigation has been widely growing in the Occident in the last century, mainly because of its benefits. On the scientific field, most of the researchers are looking for the relations of meditation and brain activities, contributing to investigations on consciousness and to the philosophy of the mind, helping to approach unsolved debates about perception, attention, and learning processes. In this work we present the challenge of working with meditation, considering the many approaches available and the diversity of empirical findings. We review theories and interpretations about the nature of the mind and address a hypothesis by Walach (2014) that meditation would be an epistemic capacity of the consciousness that accesses an objective reality.

Fábio Augusto Darius 27 February 2014 (has links)
The present research addresses historically the construction and development of practical and theoretical holistic theology of Ellen White bequeathed to the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Ellen White lived at the time in which her country, the United States of America, were firmed while nation and died precisely when it sought the world hegemony. Thus, passing through turbulent years of Secession and incorporating the spirit pragmatic American she grew and lean on with her homeland. Self-taught, she helped to found one of the original churches of this country, the fruit of the union of heterogeneous thought of various protestant congregations. Her work stands for affirmation and experience of biblical beliefs that comprise the Adventist brazen faith. However, her compendium, extracted from thousands of pages produced over the course of seven decades devoted to church, stands out clearly the inseparable intercorrelation between body and spirit. From this paradigm, for her, these two bodies form the soul, that having body portion is deadly. This is then what is the human being: a mortal soul in search of immortality, only achieved by redeemed after the coming of Jesus, a literal event to be soon perceived - the greatest hope of the Adventist still today. In Ellen White, as should be perceived along the work, since the serene and balanced relationship between body and spirit, there is a fervent defense and at the same time thrilled attack to those who unlike this perspective taken by her Christian, call for classical philosophy. It is in the scope of this carnal theology dictated by her biblical that it must be the human being aligned. Thus, to maintain a healthy diet, doing regular physical exercises, ensure the integral education and experience the nature, configure exercises in search of full spirituality which allied to the life of piety and prayer lead to sanctification - central theme of her writings. The first chapter of the thesis analyzes historically the United States and Europe at the time of Ellen White; the second deals with the historical and social construction of the belief in the mortality of the soul - center of this work, while the third and last is the holistic whitean approach of body and spirit with views to the fullness of soul.

Um estudo sobre a possibilidade do monismo / The God of Spinoza: substance unique or multiple? A study about the monism possibility

Marcio Francisco Teixeira de Oliveira 20 February 2014 (has links)
This work has the purpose to comprehend the monisms thesis, i.e. the thesis that only one substance exists which unity is secured by the compatibility between its absolute and infinite nature, and the real multiplicity of its infinite attributes. But the monism is not accepted as not problematic by all the interpreters, which, if confirmed, would lead Spinozas system to ruin. In the first chapter, the monisms problem will be presented through the critic of one of those interpreters, Ferdinand Alquié. According to him, Spinoza cannot establish, rationally, the possibility of the absolute substance. We will see that, Alquié, not being able to conceive how the infinite attributes can constitute the essence of a substance that is unique, concludes that the monisms thesis is incompatible with the argumentative structure of the first book of the Ethic. After the explanation of the monisms problem, presented from Alquié, we will try to recover the internal coherence of Spinozas work. This study aim to make explicit the concepts of substance and attribute, looking to follow the two stages of the monisms construction along the first eleven propositions of the Ethic, that is: (1) the proof that exists one unique substance per attribute; (2) the proof that exists only one substance for all attributes. To advance in the ontological problems involved in the monisms construction, and how Spinozas position can only be comprehended through a profound transformation of the concepts inherited by the cartesianism, the research will favour the masterly interpretations propounded by Martial Gueroult (Spinoza, I, Dieu; Aubier-Montaigne, Paris, 1968) and Gilles Deleuze (Spinoza et le problème de l'expression; Les Editions de Minuit, Paris, 1968). These interpreters carry out each in its own fashion a genealogy of the absolutely infinite substance and present solutions that allow us to think the monism as coherent. Such solutions will be presented and evaluated, aiming to know to what extent they can show the problem of the monism and solve it in a plausible way.
