Padrões espaciais de localização dos empreendimentos do Programa Minha Casa Minha Vida : impactos na qualidade da habitação social e satisfação dos moradoresLima, Marcia Azevedo de January 2016 (has links)
O trabalho trata da avaliação da qualidade da produção do Programa Minha Casa Minha Vida na Região Metropolitana de Porto Alegre, na busca de subsídios para a produção da habitação social. Primeiramente, foi investigado se existem padrões espaciais de localização diferenciados para as Faixas de renda 1, 2 e 3, que poderiam gerar diferentes níveis de integração do conjunto no tecido urbano consolidado. A partir da identificação dos padrões espaciais de localização, foi verificada a existência de relação desses padrões com as diretrizes da política urbana em nível local, expressas através da regulação urbanística, propiciando localizações mais adequadas para a habitação de interesse social. Ainda, teve o objetivo de averiguar se o modelo de cidade (estrutura do espaço urbano) que está sendo produzido pelo Programa MCMV na RMPA apresentou avanços em relação à produção habitacional do BNH (Banco Nacional de Habitação), no tocante aos padrões espaciais de localização dos empreendimentos. A seguir, foram analisados se os padrões espaciais de localização geram impactos sobre as condições de mobilidade e de acesso a oportunidades de desenvolvimento humano e econômico e afetam os níveis de satisfação dos moradores com o desempenho dos conjuntos. Os procedimentos metodológicos adotados incluem múltiplos métodos de coleta de dados e análises que possibilitaram complementariedade entre os dados obtidos através de levantamento de arquivo, levantamento físico e aplicação de questionários. A análise estatística dos dados quantitativos foi realizada através da verificação das frequências e realização de testes não-paramétricos, como Kruskal-Wallis e Spearman. Foi utilizada a análise sintática para medir os níveis de integração. Os resultados obtidos confirmam que a produção do Programa Minha Casa Minha Vida apresenta um padrão espacial de localização, especialmente para a Faixa 1, com empreendimentos de médio e grande porte, distantes do centro urbano consolidado e segregados do entorno. As localizações dos empreendimentos da Faixas 2 e 3 são bastante similares, porém um pouco melhores do que as localizações dos empreendimentos da Faixa 1, que tendem promover diferentes níveis de satisfação com o desempenho dos conjuntos e diferentes impactos sobre a qualidade de vida dos moradores. Finalmente, é possível concluir que o padrão de localização dos empreendimentos do Programa MCMV na Região Metropolitana de Porto Alegre parece não apresentar avanços em relação à produção habitacional do BNH e é ressaltada a importância de avaliar os impactos da localização de conjuntos habitacionais na satisfação geral dos moradores, na busca da produção de espaços residenciais qualificados que contribuam para a sustentabilidade urbana. / The study deals with quality evaluation of the housing program “Minha Casa Minha Vida” (MCMV) implemented in the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre, in order to subsidize the social housing production. Firstly, it aimed at investigate if there are different patterns of spatial location according to income groups 1, 2 and 3, which might generate different levels of integration of the housing scheme in the consolidated urban grid. Secondly, it was verified whether the location patterns are related to urban legislation at local level, incorporated in the urban regulation and resulting in locations that are more appropriate to social housing production. Moreover, it was intended to explore if the structure of the urban space produced by the Program MCMV in the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre showed improvements in relation to social housing produced by the National Housing Bank (BNH), considering spatial patterns of location of the housing schemes. Following, the patterns of spatial location were analyzed in order to test their impacts on the conditions of mobility and access to human and economic development opportunities that affect the level of resident satisfaction with the performance of housing schemes. Methodological procedures included multiple methods of data collection and analysis which enabled complementarities between the data obtained through archive information, physical measurements and questionnaires. The statistical analysis of quantitative data was carried out by means of frequencies and non-parametric tests such as Kruskal-Wallis and Spearman correlations. Spatial syntax analysis was used in order to measure levels of integration. Results confirm the existence of patterns of location, especially for the lowest income group, with large and medium size housing schemes distant from the consolidated urban area and segregated from its surroundings. The location of housing schemes for income groups 2 and 3 are similar, but slightly better than the locations of housing schemes for income group 1, which tend to promote different levels of resident satisfaction with the performance of the housing schemes and different impacts on their quality of life. Finally, it was possible to conclude that the patterns of location of the housing schemes produced in the Program MCMV in the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre did not improve in relation to social housing produced by the National Housing Bank (BNH) and highlights the importance of assessing the impacts of location of housing schemes on the overall residents satisfaction, in order to produce more qualified residential spaces that promote urban sustainability.

Previous issue date: 2016-05-04 / Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de Goiás - FAPEG / This paper aims to understand the (re)production of the urban space of Morrinhos, state of Goias, Brazil, starting with the Social Housing Project (SHP) and the social relations consubstantiated and exposed on the everyday life of the residents. The specific goals are: to learn about the organization of urban space of Morrinhos, based on historical, economical and social conditions; to read the general conditions of the housing of the aforementioned city, and elucidate part of the intentionalities of the housing policies in Brazil as an important part for the process of (re)production of urban space and; lastly, to meet several components of the everyday life of a few SHP residents in areas such as Monte Verde, Bela Vista I and Bela Vista II, in Morrinhos, and, thus, to assess part of the assumptions that are related to the socio-spatial reproduction of these localities. The methodological procedures were based on theoretical research, especially in bibliographic sources that debate the (re)production of urban space, housing and everyday life. In the documental research, the public domain data, especially the ones from Morrinhos, were organized; regarding the field research, a semistructured interview script was used to SHP residents, and observation were registered on the field journal and photographic records in the selected areas for empirical research. The present study reveals that everydayness is a characteristic of the researched residents, i.e. the objective and subjective attainment of the residents decreases their creative potentiality and determine them to the fragmentation of life in spheres, such as in the work environment, private life, leisure etc, purposely unarticulated of the social reality as a whole. Thereby, the urban space of Morrinhos reproduces inhumanely, so that the resident contemplated with a SHP becomes a reduced subject to the labor force condition and also as a consumer. Such strangeness overlaps the feeling of belonging to the class, which legitimates, thus, the entire process of reproduction of capital and space. / Este trabalho tem como objetivo principal compreender a (re)produção do espaço urbano de Morrinhos - GO, a partir das Habitações de Interesse Social (HIS) e das relações sociais consubstanciadas e expostas na vida cotidiana dos moradores. Os objetivos específicos são: apreender a organização do espaço urbano de Morrinhos, fundamentado pelas condições históricas, econômicas e sociais; interpretar as condições gerais das habitações deste município, bem como elucidar parte das intencionalidades das políticas habitacionais no Brasil enquanto parte importante para o processo de (re)produção do espaço urbano e; por fim, conhecer alguns componentes da vida cotidiana de alguns moradores de Habitações de Interesse Social nos setores Monte Verde, Bela Vista I e Bela Vista II, em Morrinhos, e, assim, avaliar parte das premissas que se relacionam com a reprodução socioespacial de tais localidades. Os procedimentos metodológicos pautaram-se na pesquisa teórica, sobretudo, em fontes bibliográficas que discutem a (re)produção do espaço urbano, a habitação e a vida cotidiana. Na pesquisa documental, foram organizados os dados de domínio público acerca, principalmente, de Morrinhos e, na pesquisa de campo, utilizou-se da aplicação de roteiro de entrevistas semiestruturado aos moradores das HIS, observações registradas em diário de campo e registro fotográfico nos setores selecionados para a pesquisa empírica. Este estudo revela que a cotidianidade é uma característica do morador pesquisado, isto é, a captura objetiva e subjetiva deste reduz suas potencialidades criativas e condiciona-o à fragmentação da vida em esferas (do trabalho, da vida privada, do lazer etc.), propositalmente desarticuladas da realidade social total. Dessa forma, o espaço urbano de Morrinhos se reproduz perversamente, de modo que o morador contemplado com uma HIS é transformado em um sujeito reduzido à condição de força de trabalho e consumidor, cujo estranhamento se sobrepõe ao sentimento de pertencimento à classe, legitimando, assim, todo o processo de reprodução do capital e do espaço.

Efeitos do canabidiol no comportamento agressivo induzido por isolamento social em camundongos / Cannabidiol effects on agressive-like behaviors induced by social isolation in miceAlice Hartmann dos Santos 28 January 2016 (has links)
O Canabidiol (CBD), principal composto não-psicotomimético da Cannabis sativa, possui diversas propriedades farmacológicas, incluindo a indução de efeitos tipoantidepressivos e ansiolíticos em roedores após administração sistêmica. O isolamento social aumenta comportamentos agressivos em camundongos, condição denominada agressão induzida pelo isolamento social ou agressão territorial. Drogas ansiolíticas e antidepressivas podem atenuar comportamentos agressivos. Desse modo, o objetivo do presente trabalho foi avaliar se o CBD atenuaria comportamentos agressivos induzidos pelo isolamento social em camundongos. Camundongos Suíços machos (7-8 semanas de idade no dia do isolamento, 30-40 g no dia do teste) foram mantidos isolados (camundongos residentes) para indução dos comportamentos agressivos. Paralelamente, camundongos co-específicos (camundongos intrusos) foram mantidos agrupados (oito por caixa). Neste modelo, um camundongo intruso da mesma linhagem, sexo e idade foi colocado na caixa moradia do residente. As interações entre os camundongos residente e intruso foram gravadas por 20 min e a latência para a primeira mordida contra o intruso, o número de ataques e o tempo total de ataques foram analisados por um observador cego aos grupos experimentais. Após 10 dias de isolamento social, foi testado se a administração aguda (i.p.) de CBD (5, 15, 30 ou 60 mg/kg), 30 min antes do teste, atenuaria comportamentos agressivos dos camundongos residentes contra os intrusos. Para avaliar a participação de receptores 5-HT1A e CB1 nos efeitos do CBD, grupos independentes de animais receberam 1 injeção prévia de WAY 100635 (antagonista dos receptores 5-HT1A, 0,3 mg/kg) ou AM251 (antagonista dos receptores CB1, 1 mg/kg), 30 min antes do CBD (15 mg/kg). Para controlar possíveis efeitos motores da droga, grupos independentes de animais tratados com doses efetivas de CBD ou não efetivas de WAY100635 ou AM251 foram submetidos ao actímetro para avaliação da atividade locomotora total. O CBD (15 mg/kg) aumentou a latência para o residente atacar o intruso e este efeito foi atenuado tanto pela administração prévia de AM251 (VEI+VEI: 186,62±83,16; VEI+CBD: 956,25±150,77; AM+VEI: 271,71±156,18; AM+CBD: 395,86±208,24; p=0,030) quanto WAY100635 (VEI+VEI: 116,33±29,38; VEI+CBD: 860,87±177,36; WAY+VEI: 305,12±159,16; WAY+CBD: 302,57±154,68; p=0,011). Além disso, o CBD reduziu o número de ataques em todas as doses testadas (VEI: 23,00±3,66; CBD 5: 12,25±2,43; CBD 15: 6,62±2,43; CBD 30: 7,71±3,24; CBD 60: 8,16±2,36; p=0,002) e as doses intermediárias (15 e 30 mg/kg) foram capazes de diminuir o tempo total de ataques (VEI: 114,37±22,65; CBD 5: 80,87±23,83; CBD 15: 40,00±14,58; CBD 30: 25,86±12,88; CBD 60: 54,67±9,68; p=0,018), ambos os efeitos sendo atenuados pelo AM251 (Número de ataques - VEI+VEI: 19,25±2,56; VEI+CBD: 3,25±2,36; AM+VEI: 22,86±4,97; AM+CBD: 14,14±4,10; p=0,028; Tempo total de ataques - VEI+VEI: 66,62±9,19; VEI+CBD: 11,75±9,56; AM+VEI: 118,86±31,00; AM+CBD: 58,71±17,45; p=0,049) e WAY100635 (Número de ataques - VEI+VEI: 30,83±6,77; VEI+CBD: 7,87±4,68; WAY+VEI: 22,50±5,06; WAY+CBD: 23,57±6,74; p=0,059; Tempo total de ataques - VEI+VEI: 151,17±32,65; VEI+CBD: 16,75±10,88; WAY+VEI: 113,75±24,66; WAY+CBD: 76,29±21,36; p=0,002). Não foi observado efeito motor do CBD em nenhuma das doses testadas, bem como do WAY100635 e AM251. Esses resultados evidenciam que o CBD atenua comportamentos agressivos em camundongos e nos permitem sugerir um mecanismo misto, visto que há o envolvimento de receptores CB1 e 5-HT1A. Desse modo, este fitocanabinoide poderia ser uma alternativa terapêutica para tratar comportamentos agressivos associados a transtornos psiquiátricos / Cannabidiol (CBD), a major non-psychotomimetic compound from Cannabis sativa plant, induces anxiolytic- and antidepressant-like effects in rodents after systemic administration. Long-term individual housing increases aggressive behavior in mice, a condition named isolation-induced aggression or territorial aggression, which can be attenuated by anxiolytic and antidepressant drugs. Thus, the aim of the present study was to verify whether CBD would attenuate the aggressive behavior induced by social isolation. Male Swiss mice (7-8 weeks of age on the isolation day, 30-40 g on the test day) were individually housed (resident mice) to induce aggressive behavior, while conspecific mice (intruder mice) were grouped housed (eight per cage). In this model, an intruder mouse of the same strain, sex and age is placed in the resident home cage. The resident-intruder interactions were videotaped for 20 min and the latency to the first bite against the intruder, the number of attacks and the total duration of aggressive encounters were recorded and later analyzed by an observer blind to the treatment groups. After 10 days of social isolation, we tested if acute intraperitoneal CBD administration (5, 15, 30 and 60 mg/kg) to the resident mice 30 min prior to the test would attenuate aggressive-like behavior towards the intruder animal. To evaluate the involvement of 5-HT1A and CB1 receptors in the CBD effects, independent groups of animals were injected with WAY100635 (0.3 mg/kg) or AM251(1 mg/kg) 30 min prior to CBD (15 mg/kg). To control possible motor effects, independent animals treated with effective doses of CBD or ineffective doses of WAY100635 or AM251 were submitted to the actimeter to evaluate the total locomotor activity. CBD (15 mg/kg) increased latency to attack the intruder and this effect was attenuated by the prior administration of AM251 (VEI+VEI: 186.62±83.16; VEI+CBD: 956.25±150.77; AM+VEI: 271.71±156.18; AM+CBD: 395.86±208.24; p=0.030) or WAY100635 (VEI+VEI: 116.33±29.38; VEI+CBD: 860.87±177.36; WAY+VEI: 305.12±159.16; WAY+CBD: 302.57±154.68; p=0.011). Conceptual Foundations for Cost-Benefit Analyses in Homes for the Aging--Quantifying Resident SatisfactionHyman, Ladelle M. 12 1900 (has links)
The purpose of this research project is to develop concepts for doing cost-benefit analyses for governmental and nonprofit homes. Such concepts should facilitate a differential diagnosis which recognizes the wide individual differences among those served. Developing relevant concepts is a first step in measurement. An aim is to develop appropriate concepts and instruments that will make an ordinal measurement of resident satisfaction possible. This study makes no effort to develop monetary measures of either costs or benefits. These measures and the related cost-benefit analyses must await further developments. Of the home's employees, the nurses and nurses' assistants usually have the most prolonged and intimate contact with the residents. The nurses and nurses' assistants often are the home personified in that they provide the bulk of a home's services to the less able residents. This explains why the environment of the home, which includes the values, needs, and attitudes of nurses and nurses' assistants, is believed to influence resident satisfaction.

To control possible motor effects, independent animals treated with effective doses of CBD or ineffective doses of WAY100635 or AM251 were submitted to the actimeter to evaluate the total locomotor activity. CBD (15 mg/kg) increased latency to attack the intruder and this effect was attenuated by the prior administration of AM251 (VEI+VEI: 186.62±83.16; VEI+CBD: 956.25±150.77; AM+VEI: 271.71±156.18; AM+CBD: 395.86±208.24; p=0.030) or WAY100635 (VEI+VEI: 116.33±29.38; VEI+CBD: 860.87±177.36; WAY+VEI: 305.12±159.16; WAY+CBD: 302.57±154.68; p=0.011). Moreover, CBD reduced the number of attacks in all tested doses (VEI: 23.00±3.66; CBD 5: 12.25±2.43; CBD 15: 6.62±2.43; CBD 30: 7.71±3.24; CBD 60: 8.16±2.36; p=0.002) as well as the duration of aggressive behavior encounters in the intermediary doses (15 and 30 mg/kg; VEI: 114.37±22.65; CBD 5: 80.87±23.83; CBD 15: 40.00±14.58; CBD 30: 25.86±12.88; CBD 60: 54.67±9.68; p=0.018), both effects were attenuated by AM251 (Number of attacks - VEI+VEI: 19.25±2.56; VEI+CBD: 3.25±2.36; AM+VEI: 22.86±4.97; AM+CBD: 14.14±4.10; p=0.028; Total time of attacks - VEI+VEI: 66.62±9.19; VEI+CBD: 11.75±9.56; AM+VEI: 118.86±31.00; AM+CBD: 58.71±17.45; p=0.049) and WAY100635 (Number of attacks - VEI+VEI: 30.83±6.77; VEI+CBD: 7.87±4.68; WAY+VEI: 22.50±5.06; WAY+CBD: 23.57±6.74; p=0.059; Total time of attacks - VEI+VEI: 151.17±32.65; VEI+CBD: 16.75±10.88; WAY+VEI: 113.75±24.66; WAY+CBD: 76.29±21.36; p=0.002). CBD, in all tested doses, as well as WAY100635 and AM251, did not induce locomotor changes. These findings suggest that CBD decreases aggressive behaviors in mice and allow us to suggest that this effect involves CB1 and 5-HT1A receptors. Therefore, this phytocannabinoid may be therapeutically useful to treat aggressive behaviors that are usually associated with psychiatric disorders

An Assessment of Morro Bay Residents' Attitudes Toward and Knowledge About Tourism: Setting a Foundation for Sustainable Tourism DevelopmentStockton, Tyson Matthew David 01 September 2011 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to explore Morro Bay residents’ attitudes toward tourism and knowledge about tourism in the three major tourism impact categories (economic, socio-cultural, and environmental). A mail-back questionnaire was hand-delivered during the winter of 2011 to 720 Morro Bay residents. In general, Morro Bay residents had slightly positive attitudes toward tourism in their community. The mean attitude score was 3.27 on a 5-point Likert type scale. The subjects had a relatively low level of tourism knowledge. The mean total indirect tourism knowledge score was 2.98 on a 5-point Likert-type scale. Residents’ total direct tourism knowledge score was 0.33 on a scale of zero to one. A multiple regression model was used to test for an association between residents’ knowledge about tourism, community attachment, socio-demographic variables, and residents’ attitudes toward tourism. The only variables that were associated with residents’ attitude toward tourism were: length of residency, interest in learning more about tourism, level of education, household income, subjective tourism knowledge, economic tourism knowledge, and environmental tourism knowledge. The two most significant variables were economic tourism knowledge and environmental tourism knowledge. Future research should test the effectiveness of different methods to increase residents’ tourism knowledge.

The thesis examines the relationship between public health and questions of housing and poverty, in Melbourne, 1888- 1918. It is concerned with the way that with certain groups of people - local council workers, tenants of houses referred to as ‘slums’, and the owners of those houses - represented their experiences. And it seeks to place those representations in the context of the late nineteenth and early twentieth-century concern about the ‘housing problems’. It compares the public rhetoric of the housing reformers and politicians with letters written to the Melbourne City Council by landlords and tenants, and in doing so seeks to show that there were a whole range of housing ‘problems’ not addressed by the public discourse. Nutritional Intervention in Elderly People Admitted to Resident HomesWikby, Kerstin January 2006 (has links)
The aim was to investigate the effects of an intervention, based on education given to staff and implementation of an individualized nutritional programme given to the residents, to compare assessments on admission with a previous study, and to perform diagnostic test and inter-rater reliability of the Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA). A further aim was to identify and describe factors with regard to appetite among the residents. Upon admission, and after a four month intervention period, residents were classified as being either protein energy malnourished (PEM), or not, based on anthropometry and biochemical measurements. On both occasions, the Activity Index and the Mini Mental State Examination were used. In order to identify individuals in need of nutritional care, the MNA was performed. Information about medical data was obtained. A total of 127 residents were consecutively admitted to eight resident homes in a municipality in Sweden. Three resident homes constituted the experimental unit (n = 68) and five the control unit (n = 59). Fifteen residents were interviewed using a qualitative method, to investigate what affects their appetite. On admission 32 % of the residents were classified as PEM, which was similar to in the previous study. A higher frequency of residents in the present study had severe medical diseases and cognitive impairment, compared with the previous study, indicating changed admission criteria in the present study. Between the experimental and the control groups, no differences were seen in any specific anthropometric or biochemical variable. Within the groups, statistically significant differences were seen, as the number of PEM residents in the experimental group decreased, and motor activity and overall cognitive function improved. In the control group, motor activity deteriorated. This indicates that the intervention improved nutritional status and functional capacity in the residents. Diagnostic sensitivity was 73 % regarding MNA versus PEM, and 89 % regarding MNA short form (MNA-SF) versus MNA, which indicates a rather high degree of sensitivity in both tests. Inter-rater reliability of MNA, carried out by simultaneous assessments by registered nurses and researcher showed a moderate agreement of 62 % (kappa 0.41). The interview study showed that the willingness to eat was what affected the residents´ appetite. The willingness to eat contains internal factors, dependent on mood and personal values, as well as external factors, dependent on wholesomeness, food, eating environment and meal fellowship. When planning and realizing residents´ nutritional care, factors affecting the residents´ appetite have to be taken into consideration. In conclusion, the results show that it is important to implement and develop strategies for individual nutritional care, in order to prevent and treat malnutrition in elderly people, which is in line with recommendations given by the European Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ESPEN) and with the Swedish goal of nursing actions.

Benzodiazepines are widely abused by anxious individuals. Consequently, this thesis modeled anxiety in a mouse model in order to investigate benzodiazepine motivation within this sub-population. Using the Tube test of Social Dominance and the Resident/Intruder Paradigm I investigated whether animals identified as dominant or submissive/defeated would differentially display a preference for 0.25 mg/kg midazolam in a conditioned place preference paradigm. Consistent with my hypotheses, benzodiazepine preference was mediated by negative reinforcement as submissive but not dominant mice displayed a preference for midazolam. Furthermore, different neural systems mediated benzodiazepine preference dependent on the stress status of the animal (acute vs. chronic stress) such that, acutely stressed animals experienced benzodiazepine preference through a dopamine-independent pathway whereas chronically stressed animals experienced benzodiazepine preference through a dopamine-dependent pathway. Within chronically stressed mice, blockade of either D1 or D2 receptors attenuated benzodiazepine preference.
