Higher education in Brazil has developed markedly excluding and unequal. However, one of the most striking transformations of the last decades was the entry of a significant number of youngsters from the popular classes into the graduation. One of the main avenues of entry were public inclusion policies, in this case the University for All Program (ProUni), aimed at granting scholarships in private institutions. Although it also discusses access to higher education, this dissertation presents as a central theme the permanence of ProUni scholarship students in the university, given the importance of identifying the possible difficulties that these students face during their trajectory at this educational level. To develop the research, a qualitative methodology is used, with semistructured interviews and subsequent application of a complementary questionnaire. The sample is made up of scholarship students from prestigious middle-high courses who entered the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul between 2010 and 2014. From this research, the progress of the ProUni, as well as the challenges that remain, are verified.

The Operation Cast Lead was a military offensive of great worldwide repercussion due to the significant number of Palestinian civilian deaths, the use of prohibited weapons and the controversy involving the Commission established by the United Nations Human Rights Council. The organizations selected for the work act in a large number of countries, have special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council, and have already received the Nobel Peace Prize. HRW's 2006 action in Lebanon allows to raise the hypothesis that such organizations can act influenced by external pressures and change their positions. One of the questions to be addressed in this research is to explore, understand and to describe the formation of new actors engaged in the contentious politics of Brazilian society. Based on the theory of confrontation, the research sought to reflect on the issues that make up the emergence of this new collective actor, the possible context that facilitated its emergence in the political-social scenario of the country. It also seeks to problematize the modus operandi in which the MBL conducted its guidelines, claims and objectives. The analysis of these issues is anchored in the aspects of (a) a description of the sociohistorical context in which the emergence of these actors linked to the political right occurs, (b) the prognosis of their collective actions, such as the identification of action repertoires and the analysis of frames from the multi-thematic milestones nationalism and non-violence. For this purpose, documents of a different nature produced by MBL were analyzed based on qualitative methodology. / A presente disserta??o objetiva analisar o Movimento Brasil Livre (MBL). We seek to answer it in two ways. First, we mobilized the theoretical framework offered by Ernst Bloch establishing privileged dialogue with Axel Honneth and, from this, we produced a reflection about the importance of hope for the mobilization and motivation of the subjects involved in social movements, manifestations, collective actions, in summary, collective political actions with a view to changing the circumstances lived by the subjects, regardless of the size of the change demanded. Second, through photographic records of the multitude manifestations erupted on the streets of Porto Alegre in 2013, we sought to analyze in what ways the hope crystallized in the factual reality motivating the protesters, structuring the manifestations and generating impacts on the institutionality. To do this, we use the following Blochian concepts: expectant affections, diurnal dreams, concrete utopias, front and novum. The development of this research is anchored in two main axes, which are, the South-South Cooperation (SSC) and the operation of Brazilian companies in Africa, specially Angola and Mozambique that are two countries with Portuguese as official language used for the deepening of this research. This article studies of international projection of Brazil to Africa, mainly in Angola and Mozambique, what is a result of technical cooperation and the performance of companies. The main results found in this research, are two: first, that Brazil ? in the SSC scope - implemented extremely important projects for the socioeconomic development of those two African countries. On the other side, the performance of Brazilian companies in those countries, even though they represent some positive economic impact, do not always corroborate with the expectations launched by the political and diplomatic discourse that concern with the establishment of a good image of Brazil in the African continent. With the rise of new popular demands for independence as of 2010, and after the (illegal) referendum a few years later, that won with an imperative victory of the "yes" to independence, there was a sharp shift on the emphasis of the party: from moderate and autonomist, CDC began to treat the independence of Catalonia as the main objective of its governments. With the inaugurations speeches from 1980 and 1999 of Jordi Pujol, from 2010 and 2012 of Artur Mas, and the one from 2016 of Carles Puigdemont, the research intends to find the most important points that constituted the character of the transformation, as well as the role of ethnic, civic and economic nationalism in these changes. With the use of documental analysis, the dissertation is going to address as preliminary analisys the historical, social and economic contexto f the speeches, the profiles of the authors, in addition to key concepts and the internal logic of each of the speeches, in order to reach a more concise final analysis of the central problem of the work. It was comprehended that even though it is quite difficult to estabilish a cause-and-effect-relationship, it was noted the significative role of the consequences of the economic crisis of 2008 and the changes on the Statute of Autonomy of 2006 in the essence of the Catalan nationalism, that ended up inferring in a new dynamic bewteen civil society and political elites, generating the transformations inside CDC, alterating their main policies and strengthening their political use of nationalism.

Considering that the interpretation of the subjects in the social world consists in the interaction with the other, in the course of their life trajectories from certain mechanisms and rules, the present study searches, in the biographical trajectory of the subjects, evidences of what and how of this interpretation. Based on the theoretical and methodological assumptions of the interpretative biographical research, I perform the reconstruction of two interviews using the biographical reconstruction analysis method developed by the sociologist Gabriele Rosenthal. Reconstructions of Aline and Vanessa cases give rise to two distinct types of interpretation on the waste picking, taking into account the macro and micro-sociological mechanisms behind these interpretations. Before presenting the types, I discuss, from the perspective of the authors of interpretative sociology, especially Alfred Sch?tz (2004), Peter Berger and Thomas Luckmann (2014), in what way the activity of the waste picking has been institutionalizing in Brazil, since the end of the nineteenth century, as a social, economic, environmental and political practice, according to mechanisms that ensure its legitimacy before society. Institutionalization, legitimation and socialization are therefore some of the processes behind these practices. The proposed approach contributes to the understanding of the social mechanisms behind the phenomenon of waste picking, evidencing the active participation of the collectors in the construction of this phenomenon.

Currently, these workers represent a large part of workforce in the execution of public policies in Brazil, mainly Social Assistance. Considering the context of regulation of its activity in Brazil, this work investigates what are the social recognition demands of the Social Educators of Porto Alegre. For this, it seeks, in the Sociology of Professions, to cover a sociologic deficit identified in the national discussion about regulation, distinguishing occupations from professions; it presents the Axel Honneth?s Theory of Recognition as an analytical model to identify, within the content of social discourse, the demands for recognition and to analyze its normative validity; it sketches a history of the conformation of the occupational activity of Social Educators in Brazil, demonstrating that this identity is distinct, but not antagonistic, from the Popular Educators; and, finally, it analyzes the speech of Social Educators of Porto Alegre in interviews and in debates about the themes of their initial formation, practices and working conditions and regulation of their occupational activity in Brazil, having the Theory of Recognition as an analytical guide. The main demand for recognition identified was the society's knowledge of the activities carried out by Social Educators in such a way that people recognize them as work, not charity or volunteering. They demand from their colleagues, workers of categories already professionalized, the recognition of equity of their theoretical and practical contributions for the good development of activities in teams that operate in multiprofessional cooperation model, which also indicates a desire for greater autonomy in their occupational practices. Of the contracting institutions and State, they demand better working conditions, such as: reduction of working hours, mental health care, additional salaries (painfulness), and higher income. It was also observed the lack of knowledge of the Social Educators of Porto Alegre about the process of regulating their occupational activity in Brazil as well of the national discussion about the process.
