Salsa Jayay / Jayay Sauce

Cajahuanca Atencio, Jakelin Arisely, Contreras Córdova, Margarita Isabel, Gomez Sánchez, Enrique Filomeno, Ruiz Estrada, Lissbeth Eugenia, Vizcarra Soto, Cynthia Alejandra 31 July 2020 (has links)
Per capita consumption of fresh chili in Peru is 4.75 Kg per year, according to data from the Association of Exporters (ADEX) in 2017, this represents an increase compared to previous years, which is related to the boom in Peruvian gastronomy that encourages the use of chili peppers in pasta or sauces in recent years. In addition, this growth trend is also reinforced thanks to the activities carried out by MINAGRI, this public entity promotes the production and internal consumption of chili through mechanisms that publicize the diversity, uses, benefits of Peruvian chili and what it represents in gastronomic culture. On the other hand, a study carried out by the consultant Arellano on the trends of healthy consumption indicates that Peruvians emphasize good nutrition as part of a healthy life and that, in addition, 45% of people in Lima focus on the nutritional content of products. Another fact associated with this trend is that 54% of households consider themselves healthy, according to the KWP consultancy, which also indicates that healthy consumers are more aware and careful in choosing consumer products. For this reason, following market trends, Salsa Jajay appears, a spicy sauce made from native Peruvian chili with fruit pulp, a natural product. Jayay's value proposition is to offer a delicious and spicy chili sauce perfect to accompany special dishes in order to give more flavor to meals; a sauce made with exotic inputs such as the chili pepper, native to the Peruvian jungle, and passion fruit. Likewise, its consumption contributes to good nutrition, since the inputs used have beneficial nutritional properties for health, added to the fact that it is a product free of preservatives and artificial preservatives. In addition to this, Salsa Jayay is presented as an eco friendly product, because its packaging is glass, recyclable and reusable material. The target audience for Salsa Jayay are people who like a spicy of indigenous origin, prepared in a natural way, who are willing to try a new and unique flavor and who also usually shop online. Regarding the sales channels of the product, these will be: social networks (this means includes delivery service), natural food fairs and specialized stores. / Trabajo de investigación

The Influence of Israelite Temple Rites and Early Christian Esoteric Rites on the Development of Christian Baptism

Wilkins, Ryan T. 06 December 2011 (has links) (PDF)
This thesis seeks to answer the question of the origin of some of the most fundamental additions made to early Christian baptism. Christian baptism began in a relatively simple liturgical form, but became, by the fourth century, a much more dramatic set of initiation rituals. Among the added elements to baptism were washing ceremonies in the nude, physical anointing with oil, being marked or signed with the cross on the forehead, and receiving white garments. Scholars have proposed different theories as to the origins of these baptismal rituals. Some claim the elements existed in the New Testament practice of the rite. Others have supposed that the Christian church adopted the elements from either the Jewish synagogue or from contemporary pagan modes of initiation. This thesis argues that the initiation rituals of the Israelite tabernacle and temple provide a much more likely source for the added elements of Christian baptism. The esoteric practices of the temple priests became the esoteric tradition of early Christianity. The rites of this temple-oriented esoteric tradition in both the Old and New Testaments parallel, and may have been the origin for, the evolutions made to Christian baptism during the third and fourth centuries of the church. Christian groups such as the Valentinians provide evidence of higher esoteric rites being interpreted as baptism. Somehow the esoteric rites of the Israelite temple and the esoteric rites of early Christianity were adopted into the practice of Christian baptism.

Influence of the Catechetical School of Alexandria on the growth and development of Christianity in Africa

Oliver, Willem Hendrik 03 1900 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is to determine the influence exerted by the heads of the Catechetical School (Didaskaleion) in Alexandria on the growth and development of Christianity in Africa prior to the Arab invasion in 642 CE in Egypt. The methodological tool used is the Historical Method. Chapter 1 contains a discussion of the founding and development of the city of Alexandria through its Golden Era and until the Arab invasion in 642 CE. This city played an important role in the development of Christianity as it is there that the early Christians (the "followers of Christ's teachings") settled and established their faith. Chapter 2 deals with the founding of the Didaskaleion as an addition to the other big schools/"universities" in the city, for example the Musaion (also called the Museion), the Serapium (also called the Serapeum) and the Sebastion. All the possible heads of the School are discussed in order to get a full picture of the School and her activities during the time. In Chapter 3 all the extant and lost documents written by the heads of the School are discussed to provide insight into the formation of the Theology of the School and the contributions of her various heads. Chapter 4 constitutes the pinnacle of the thesis and depicts the influence of the School on the known parts of Africa – to the west and the south of Alexandria – during the first seven centuries CE (until the Arab invasion in 642). The influence is described at two levels: Influence, where mentioned by a specific writer, is called factual influence and includes personal influence. • Influence that is not mentioned but observed, is called derived influence. As there is ample evidence that the (heads of the) School exerted both factual and derived influence on the people in Africa, the conclusion can be drawn that the School and her heads played a significant role in the growth and development of Christianity in Africa. / Christian Spirituality, Church History and Missiology / D.Th. Use of raw Martian and Lunar soils for surface-based reactor shielding

Christian, Jose L. 1963- 13 October 2014 (has links)
For several decades, the idea of flying and landing a less-than-man-rated nuclear reactor for planetary surface applications has been considered. This approach promises significant mass savings and therefore reduction in launch cost. To compensate for the lack of shielding, it has been suggested the use of in-situ materials for providing radiation protection. This would take the form of either raw dirt walls or processed soil materials into blocks or tile elements. As a first step in determining the suitability of this approach, it is necessary to understand the neutron activation characteristics of these soils. A simple assessment of these activation characteristics was conducted for both Martian and Lunar soils using ORIGEN2.2. An average composition for these soils was assumed. As a baseline material, commonly used NBS-03 concrete was compared against the soils. Preliminary results indicate that over 2.5 times more gamma-radiation production of these soils vs. concrete took place during the irradiation phase (a baseline of 2.4 x 1011 neutrons/sec-cm2 was assumed). This was due primarily to radiative capture on Na23 and Mn55 and subsequent decay of their activation products. This is does not necessarily disqualify these materials as potential shielding material since the -radiation output was only in the order of 4.2 x 108 photons/cm3-sec. Furthermore, these soils did not show any significant activity after shutdown of the neutron source (the reactor), since all activation products had very short half lives. Their performance in this area was comparable to that of NBS-03 concrete. / text

Legaz Pérez, Isabel 31 July 2006 (has links)
The objective of this Doctoral Thesis was to deepen in the study of the development of the claustroamygdaloid complex in mouse. For that, we pursued to study: 1) which components derive from either the lateral or ventral pallium based on differential expression of regulatory genes (Dbx1, Lhx9, Lhx2, Lmo3, Lmo4, Cadherina 8 y Emx1) during embryonic development; 2) the development of interneurons of the claustroamygdaloid complex that contain calcium binding proteins (including the development of its local circuits); 3) the histogenetic origin of these interneurons, by means of organotypic cultures and analysis of the transgenic mouse Nkx2.1-Cre/Rosa26-GFP (Kessaris and col. 2006). Our data allowed the distinction between lateral and ventral pallial components of the complex, which contain multiple subtypes of interneurons with origins in different subpallial subdivisions. This opens new venues for future investigations on the connectivity and function of each interneuron subtype, and on their involvement in neuropsychiatric disorders.

López Belchí, María Dolores 23 October 2008 (has links)
Some pests cause serious damage to stored grains and stored products and consequently production and quality losses in these products. The rice weevil, Sitophilus oryzae L. (Coleoptera: Curculionidae), the lesser grain borer, Rhyzopertha dominica Fabricius (Coleoptera: Bostrichidae) and Cryptolestes pusillus Schönherr (Coleoptera: Cucujidae) were the main damaging pests found in stored rice in Spain.S.oryzae and R.dominica are primary pests attacking directly the intact grain and are quite destructive because their larvi feed and develop inside the grain whereas C.pusillus is a secondary pest which benefits from grains previously damaged. At the present time, organic synthetic pesticides are still the main method to control stored grain pests, however, recently (due to restriction in agrochemicals use) there is a great interest in using other altenatives such as biological control, storage at low-temperatures, or heat treatment.Likewise, many products obtained mainly from plants and derived from secondary metabolism have insecticidal activity against insects, such as monoterpenoids, which present a broad variety of bioinsecticide products which could turn out to be an ecologic alternative to synthetic pesticides since the majority of alternative products are not harmful for the human healthy and they become less environmentally damaging, exhibiting a low impact on the environment. In addition, it cannot be ignored the different difficulties related to resistance due to several active compounds from organic pesticides found in some species of insects. With this work, we have considered remarkable to study the insecticide activity of essential oils extracted from three plants: Coriandrum sativum L. (Umbelliferae), Carum carvii L. (Umbelliferae) and Ocimum basilicum L. (Labiatae) and carry out a bioassay-guided fractionation of their essential oils to identify which compounds were responsible for the volatile toxicity shown on three stored rice pests (S. oryzae, R. dominica and C. pusillus).Linalool, S-carvone and estragole turned out to have a high insecticide activity on these pests. Nevertheless E-anetol was more selective to R. dominica and C. pusillus, being only active on C. pusillus limonene, γ-terpinene, geraniol and eucalyptol. Some monoterpenoids were found as synergists, increasing the activity of the other ones, like for instance, camphor, geranyl acetate and E-anethole with linalool in R.dominica and C.pusillus or metoxycinnamaldehyde, p-anysaldehyde and linalool which could activate to estragole. In this work, the inhibition of acetylcholinesterase as a posible mode of action was studied as well, to reach a clear understanding about the action of these products inside the insects. The majority of monoterpenoids inhibited the enzyme acetylcholinesterase being fenchone, S-carvone and linalool the monoterpenoids that produced a higher inhibition.Furthermore, it was observed how fenchone, γ-terpinene, geraniol and linalool showed a competitive inhibition whereas S-carvone, estragole and camphor produced a mixed inhibition for this enzyme. However the enzyme acetylcholinesterase was not inhibited by E-anethole.To finish up this work, the selection for monoterpenoid resistance on these pests as well as the metabolic mechanisms implicated was studied. The resistant strains were selected from susceptible insect populations and survivors were reared separately for each monoterpenoid and successive generations were treated with higher concentrations. These populations were selected until seven times. As a result we could calculate the resistance factor on each pest (comparing lethal concentration 50 values of susceptible and resistant strains).Next, three enzymatic systems detoxifying these monoterpenoids were analysed to study the metabolic mechanism implicated. In this way we could realize that all monoterpenoids induced resistance slowly, concluding that these pesticides will be appropriated to control these pests in the future. This Thesis has concerned a study in depth about ecological insecticides from extraction of essential oils, identification of compounds (GC-MS) with insecticide activity, mode of action and study of resistance and mechanism of insecticide resistance involved in this process.

Diversitat cultural i educació.

Besalú, Xavier, 1953- 16 December 2005 (has links)
The thesis wants to reply four questions. Which conception of intercultural education, do Catalonia need in the 21st century? How has the educational system of Catalonia faced the arrival of foreign origin pupils? What kinds of changes will have to propitiate in the school curriculum in order to make a more scientific and fairer education? Which has to be the training that we have to offer to the teaching staff of the basic education to guarantee an intercultural education? The intercultural education that is advocated in this thesis is that which it proposes to work so that all pupils learn to life in open and plural societies. In the intercultural education that is proposed there are three different emphases; the one that puts the accent on the ethical aspects, in the didactic aspects and in the cultural or curricular ones. And regarding the formation of the teachers, it is said that one of the first objective has to be the revision of the knowledge themselves and actitudes.
