Современный мир находится в процессе осуществления четвертой промышленной революции, и Россия не является исключением из этого процесса. В условиях цифровизации, кибернетизации, распространения искусственного интеллекта и акцента на гибкие навыки требования к специалистам становятся все более сложными и многогранными. Современный рынок труда требует от выпускников не только глубоких профессиональных знаний, но и развитых надпрофессиональных компетенций. В связи с этим, вопрос о механизмах и способах формирования этих компетенций становится все более актуальным. Таким образом, актуальность исследования обусловлена тем, что работодатели все чаще требуют от выпускников вузов не только профессиональных компетенций, но и рядом качеств, относящихся к гибким навыкам. Большую роль в формировании этих качеств и навыков играет университет, его подразделения и общественные организации, в том числе Ассоциации выпускников. Это отражается в запросе государства, декларируемом через нормативные и стратегические документы (Действующая версия ФГОС 3++), проекте стратегии молодежной политики в РФ до 2030 года, теоретической основе исследований, подтверждающих необходимость навыков будущего для подготовки специалистов, способных успешно конкурировать на рынке труда. Анализ актуальности позволяет заключить, что в процессе подготовки современного специалиста существует ряд противоречий: Между потребностью профессионального сообщества в выпускниках с развитыми гибкими навыками и недостаточной изученностью потенциала Ассоциации выпускников УПИ, УрГУ и УрФУ в их формировании; Между заявленной в нормативно-правовых актах необходимостью владения выпускниками гибкими навыками и недостаточной разработкой научно-методических материалов для их формирования; Между важностью в подготовке выпускников с развитыми гибкими навыками и отсутствием практик для их формирования в деятельности Ассоциации выпускников. Проблема исследования заключается в недостаточном уровне изученности влияния потенциала Ассоциации выпускников УПИ, УрГУ и УрФУ на подготовку современного специалиста. Цель исследования – раскрыть потенциал Ассоциации выпускников УПИ, УрГУ и УрФУ в подготовке современного специалиста. Объект исследования – подготовка современного специалиста. Предмет исследования – потенциал Ассоциации выпускников УПИ, УрГУ и УрФУ в подготовке современного специалиста. / The modern world is in the process of implementing the fourth industrial revolution, and Russia is no exception to this process. In the context of digitalization, cybernetization, the spread of artificial intelligence and the emphasis on flexible skills, the requirements for specialists are becoming more complex and multifaceted. The modern labor market requires graduates not only to have deep professional knowledge, but also to have developed supra-professional competencies. In this regard, the question of the mechanisms and ways of forming these competencies is becoming increasingly relevant. Thus, the relevance of the study is due to the fact that employers are increasingly demanding from university graduates not only professional competencies, but also a number of qualities related to flexible skills. The university, its departments and public organizations, including Alumni Associations, play an important role in the formation of these qualities and skills. This is reflected in the request of the state, declared through regulatory and strategic documents (the current version of the Federal State Educational Standard 3++), the draft strategy of youth policy in the Russian Federation until 2030, the theoretical basis of research confirming the need for future skills to train specialists who can successfully compete in the labor market. The analysis of relevance allows us to conclude that there are a number of contradictions in the process of training a modern specialist: Between the need of the professional community for graduates with developed flexible skills and insufficient knowledge of the potential of the UPI, USU and UrFU Alumni Associations in their formation; Between the need stated in the normative legal acts for graduates to possess flexible skills and the insufficient development of scientific and methodological materials for their formation; Between the importance of training graduates with developed flexible skills and the lack of practices for their formation in the activities of the Alumni Association. The problem of the study lies in the insufficient level of knowledge of the impact of the potential of the Association of Graduates of UPI, USU and UrFU on the training of a modern specialist. The purpose of the study is to reveal the potential of the Association of Graduates of UPI, USU and UrFU in the training of a modern specialist. The object of the study is the training of a modern specialist. The subject of the study is the potential of the Association of Graduates of UPI, USU and UrFU in the training of a modern specialist.

Measuring the Impact of Community-University Research Partnership Structures: a case study of the Office of Community-Based Research at the University of VictoriaLall, Nirmala 27 October 2015 (has links)
This research study focused on measuring the impact of structures that support community-university research partnerships. The broad research question asked: How can we determine the impact of community-university research partnership support structures such as the Office of Community Based Research at the University of Victoria, within the university and within local, regional, national and international communities? Methods of inquiry included: participatory research, institutional ethnography and case study. These are among an increasing number of research approaches consistent with what is called engaged scholarship. Congruent with the methods of inquiry, methods of investigation included: in-context immersion, participant-observer-listener, use of available documents and information, use of an impact assessment framework prototype designed pre-data collection, key informant interviews, field notes, research journaling and the writing process. Data contributing to this study were drawn from key informant interviews. Interview participants were situated within local, regional, national and international communities. Methods of analysis included: a two-pronged approach to organising data, deductive and inductive approaches, the lens of praxis, and the prototype as an analytical framework. Assessment as praxis is proposed as broad analytic framework. Theory was constructed through data analysis. This study’s data and analysis point to impact assessment as a cycle of inquiry and eight elements that inform impact on and through community life and impact on and through the university. The proposed Impact Assessment and Measurement Framework (IAMF) includes eight elements: coupling intention with impact, spheres of impact, categories of impact, conditions of impact, points of impact, impact-focused documentation, multiple perspectives of impact, and impact assessment and measurement statements. Contributions of this study include: recognition of staff who support community-university research partnerships through their varied work spaces, research councils as a type of support structure, impact assessment as a cycle of inquiry, explicating impact through elements of impact assessment, and a literature consolidation of impact assessment in the context of support structures. Future research may include revision and refinement of the IAMF across different types of community-university research partnership support structures. / Graduate

The second part focuses on both statutory normative targets in the electricity supply industry and the municipality's responsibility to achieve them. This thesis is a study of a leadership model for the effective management of Further Education and Training (FET) colleges in the Gauteng Province. This research was triggered by the need for quality and sound leadership skills highly needed in FET colleges. The vision of FET colleges lies at the heart of the integration of the country's education and training system. Leadership is the distinguishing factor in bringing about organisational transformation. A key contemporary issue in the development of a high quality education service relates to the new thinking about how best to pursue quality and excellence in FET colleges. Leadership, strategic planning and the need for alternative models of management lead, inevitably, towards a reconsideration of both staff competencies and continuing staff and organisational development. This research seeks to assist those who have the responsibility of leading and managing the further conceptualisation and implementation of further education and training.
A qualitative research was conducted, in which a newly merged college in Pretoria was chosen as a case study for this research. The following constituted the broad aims of this study:
 To examine the leadership strategies that should be employed for effective management of FET colleges;
 To investigate the vision and mission development and implementation and the organisational structures established;
 To determine the opportunities and challenges offered by the new large and multi-sited college; and
 To investigate a leadership model for the effective management of FET colleges.
Semi-structured individual interviews were conducted with the leadership of the college ranging from the senior managers, campus managers, middle managers to educators. Analysis of documents and observation notes was also done to supply more data about FET leadership. Data were analysed and interpreted by identifying themes and categories that would shed more light into the effective leadership of the college.
The following recommendations were made:
 A new approach to the leadership of the college should be adopted;
 The leadership of the college should be more accountable and responsive to community needs;
 More financial support should be allocated to FET colleges; and

Corporate community engagement (CCE) in Zimbabwe's mining industry from the Stakeholder Theory perspectiveWushe, Tawaziwa 09 1900 (has links)
Questionnaires translated into Shona / Mineral extraction is one of the key drivers of Africa’s economies and is also one of the largest
industries in the world. In many African countries, including Zimbabwe, mining contributes to
profound parts of the economy and remain the engine for economic growth. In recent years, and
following the continual exploitation of minerals, mining companies have been scrutinized as a
major cause of social, environmental, and economic problems faced mainly by communities at
the margins. In this regard, mining companies are widely perceived to be prospering at the
expense of adjacent communities, who are the primary recipients of the externalities, mainly
negative, from mining operations. Due to incongruent stakeholder interests conflicts have
erupted given the peculiar case of the extractive industries in Zimbabwe. Having realised the
differences among stakeholder interests over minerals, in the extractive industry the study sought
to answer this question: how is CCE understood by different stakeholders? And how is CCE
measured by the same stakeholders?. The focus of the study is to evaluate the meaning of CCE
from multiple stakeholders in the extractive industry in Zimbabwe; and to analyse how CCE is
measured by identified stakeholders. In order to satisfy the stated objectives, the study employed
mixed research method. This study revealed similarity in understanding of CCE and its
usefulness amongst the different stakeholder groups. Of cognitive importance is the realisation
by stakeholders on the need for proactive communities and corporate investment into community
for effective partnerships. Collaboration, empowerment, inclusion, trust and organisation
emerged to be the major facilitators for CCE. The study presents operative CCE according to the
obligations and expectations of stakeholders. Having realised that mining industries are
particularly susceptible to conflict between stakeholders, the study suggests proactive desire to
mitigate these conflicts through CCE in the mining industry. In this respect, community
development, peace and stability and strong economy are the major outcomes of effective CCE.
The study recommends participation of resource owners in planning, implementing, monitoring
and evaluation as well as dividends sharing of mining projects as advocated for by the CCE
Model. It is also recommended that the adoption of the CCE Model will ensure a sustainable and
harmonious coexistence between the predominantly capitalistic mining concerns and the
resource owners and solve part of the current impasse to business and community development. / Business Management / D.B.L.

An evaluation of the implementation of sector policing in TembisaHlungwani, Freddy 27 October 2014 (has links)
The research problem that was investigated in this research study was to evaluate the implementation of sector policing in Tembisa policing precinct. Even though there are policies and directives on how to implement it, there is still some challenges because it is yet to yield the intended results. Data was collected from focus group interviews, literature studies and polices. Semi-structured interviews were conducted in the form of focus group interviews. Moreover, a literature study including material such as official SAPS documents, library sources and National Legislation regarding community policing has been presented. Data was also collected from sector managers, sector teams, CPF members and pastors who participated in four focus group interviews in Tembisa police station. The sample was chosen on the basis of what the researcher considers to be typical units. Participants were interviewed in stages. The collected data was broken into themes, patterns, trends and relationships. Data analysis followed verbatim transcription of interviews, that’s why the researcher followed Tesch’s approach of descriptive analysis.
The research conducted indicated that although progress has been made in the implementation of sector policing In Tembisa, there still more which needs to be done. Specific concerns which require the attention of SAPS management were raised. It is clear that internal communication and consultation are a necessity. It is also clear that members on the ground are not well trained because they lack the actual knowledge on how to implement it. Training and development of all role players need to be prioritised to enhance their knowledge. All the role players need to be motivated during the implementation of sector policing to ensure that they are ready for the job ahead. The recommendations drawn from the conclusions made in this study may provide a proper direction on how to implement sector policing in the Republic. / Police Practice / M.Tech. (Policing)

Managing communication to strengthen educator-parent partnerships at selected public secondary schools in the Umbumbulu Circuit, KwaZulu-NatalSibisi, Rudolph Ntuthuko 02 1900 (has links)
National legislation such as South African Schools Act, No. 84 of 1996 introduced important reforms impacting on school and parent communication. It mandated the establishment of school governing bodies in all schools to ensure that parents participate in their schools and to open an effective way of communication between educators and parents. However, the literature study established that in some schools, mostly the historically disadvantaged black schools, communication between educators and parents is still very poor and mostly ineffective.
This study examined the role of the school principals in managing effective communication between educators and parents at schools to ensure that effective partnerships between educators and parents are achieved.
A qualitative investigation in two public secondary schools in the Umbumbulu Circuit, KwaZulu-Natal was done. Data were gathered by means of in-depth interviews with the principals of each school, and focus group interviews with the educators and parents of each school and document analysis.
The findings revealed the following: relationship between educators and parents is still very poor in some schools, the communication between educators and parents is still ineffective, there is still a lack of parental involvement in some schools, and most schools do not have policies on effective management of communication and comprehensive programmes on parental involvement.
The study recommends that principals need to be empowered to effectively manage communication in their schools to ensure effective partnerships between educators and parents, and schools should design their own training programmes conducted by principals or specialists for parents on the importance of parental involvement in the education of their children. / Educational Leadership and Management / M. This study investigated the social factors influencing the poor uptake of HIV Testing and Counselling (HCT) services by middle-aged black men in Pimville, Soweto. A qualitative research approach was used for this study in which ten men and two key informants were interviewed. Themes explored were the participants’ biographical characteristics, knowledge of HIV and AIDS, health-seeking behaviours, understanding of multiple sexual partnerships, male circumcision, and challenges in using HCT services. Various social behaviour change theories formed the theoretical framework guiding this study. It was found that fear, stigma and cultural factors are major reasons for the poor HCT uptake. Despite the men’s high HIV risk perceptions, behaviour change lags behind. Greater efforts to establish a men’s forum to discuss sexual health matters in Pimville are recommended. / Sociology / M.A. (Social Behaviour Studies in HIV/AIDS)
