Ocenění Skupiny ČEZ / Valuation of CEZ Group

The thesis is targeted to a valuation of CEZ Group. The Czech based utility CEZ Group ensures regular production and supply of electricity and other essential products for everyday needs of the population in CEE region. The purpose of presented valuation is to determine whether the shares of these publicly traded company are correctly valued and that there exists any upside or downside potential. The final valuation is primarily determined by using two well-known valuation approaches -- discounted cash flow (based on operating profit analysis) and peer group analysis (based on market analysis). In order to provide a full range of understanding, the thesis consists of eight main parts focused on company profile, strategic analysis, financial analysis, value drivers, financial plan, minorities and final valuation. Further, all these parts are split up into few sections. Conclusion of the thesis includes an investment recommendation.

The Effect of Peer-Editing on the Quality of 11th Grade Composition

The relationship between peer-editing and composition quality was investigated. The thirty subjects involved were 11th-grade English students randomly assigned to control and experimental groups. During a nine week period, both groups received the same assignments and teacher evaluation. The control group, which did not revise unless upon individual initiative, participated in a dramatics workshop while the experimental group used a worksheet developed by Leila Christenbury (1982) to edit and proofread each other's writing before evaluation by the teacher. Pre and post writing assignments were blind rated at the end of the experiment using the Diederich Rating Scale. Individual item scores and total scores were compared. The t-ratios proved insignificant at the .05 level. Positive student feedback, however, indicated that the procedure deserves further investigation.

En esta tesis se aborda la eliminaci'on de ruido impulsivo, gaussiano y speckle en im'agenes a color y en escala de gises. Como caso particular se puede mencionar la eliminaci'on de ruido en im'agenes m'edicas. Algunos m'etodos de filtrado son costosos computacionalmente y m'as a'un, si las im'agenes son de gran tama¿no. Con el fin de reducir el coste computacional de dichos m'etodos, en esta tesis se utiliza hardware que soporta procesamiento paralelo, como lo son los cores CPU con procesadores multicore y GPUs con procesadores manycore.En las implementaciones paralelas en CUDA, se configuran algunas caracter'¿sticas con la finalidad de optimizar el procesamiento de la aplicaci'on en las GPUs. Esta tesis estudia por un lado, el rendimiento computacional obtenido en el proceso de eliminaci'on de ruido impulsivo y uniforme. Por otro lado, se eval'ua la calidad despu'es de realizar el proceso de filtrado. El rendimiento computacional se ha obtenido con la paralelizaci'on de los algoritmos en CPU y/o GPU. Para obtener buena calidad en la imagen filtrada, primero se detectan los p'¿xeles corruptos y luego son filtrados solo los p'¿xeles que se han detectado como corruptos. Por lo que respecta a la eliminaci'on de ruido gaussiano y speckle, el an'alisis del filtro difusivo no lineal ha demostrado ser eficaz para este caso. Los algoritmos que se utilizan para eliminar el ruido impulsivo y uniforme en las im'agenes, y sus implementaciones secuenciales y paralelas se han evaluado experimentalmente en tiempo de ejecuci'on (speedup) y eficiencia en tres equipos de c'omputo de altas prestaciones. Los resultados han mostrado que las implementaciones paralelas disminuyen considerablemente los tiempos de ejecuci'on secuenciales. Finalmente, en esta tesis se propone un m'etodo para reducir eficientemente el ruido en las im'agenes sin tener informaci'on inicial del tipo de ruido contenido en ellas. I / Sánchez Cervantes, MG. The relevance of the research is based on the need to study the factors affecting the professional self-determination of adolescents and young men, including their communicative skills and the characteristics of peer groups, to which young people belong and are affected by. The aim of the research was to study the interrelationship between the indicators of professional self-determination and the communication skill levels in adolescents and young men. Hypothesis of the research: 1. In adolescent boys, unlike teenage girls, the choice of profession is more uncertain. 2. Schoolchildren and students have significant links between the indicators of professional self-determination and their communication skill levels. 3. There is a link between the indicators of professional self-determination and belonging to the group. In the empirical study, the following methods were used: "The Personal Professional Path" questionnaire edited by N. Pryazhnikov, the "Differential-diagnostic Questionnaire" by E. Klimova, the method "Communication and Organizational Propensity" (COS-2) by V. Sinyavsky and B. Fedorishin, the "Sociometry" Method by J. Moreno. The sample of 159 people consisted of students of the 7th and 10th grades, students of the Ural Federal University. The external and internal motives of choosing a profession by adolescents and young men were examined and empirically studied, secondly, the relationship between the choice of profession and professional inclinations, and thirdly, the interrelation of communicative and professional inclinations. The first hypothesis was confirmed by the positive correlation between communicative inclinations and professional intentions in the category "man-man" in respondents. The second hypothesis was partially confirmed: in two classes and in one student group, the differences between the mini-groups were determined by the criterion of professional inclinations, i.e. professional inclinations can be a factor uniting the students in mini-groups, but the final professional choice within the groups is different, therefore, determined by other factors. / Актуальность исследования связана с необходимостью изучения факторов, влияющих на профессиональное самоопределение подростков и юношей, к числу которых относятся их коммуникативное качества, а также особенности групп сверстников, к которым принадлежат молодые люди и испытывают на себе их влияние. Цель исследования заключалась в изучении взаимосвязи показателей профессионального самоопределения и сформированности коммуникативных качеств личности в подростковом и юношеском возрасте. Гипотезы исследования: 1. У подростков-юношей, в отличие от подростков-девушек, выбор профессии отличается большей неопределенностью. 2. У школьников и студентов имеются значимые связи между показателями профессионального самоопределения и сформированностью коммуникативных качеств. 3. Существует связь между показателями профессионального самоопределения и принадлежностью к группе. В эмпирическом исследовании использовались следующие методики: анкета «Личный профессиональный путь» под редакцией Н. С. Пряжникова, «Дифференциально-диагностический опросник» Е. А. Климова, методика «Коммуникативные и организационные склонности» (КОС – 2) В. В. Синявский, Б. А. Федоришина, методика «Социометрия» Дж. Морено. Выборка в количестве 159 человек состояла из учащихся 7-х и 10-х классов, студентов Уральского федерального университета. Были рассмотрены и эмпирически исследованы внешние и внутренние мотивы выбора профессии у подростков и юношей, во-вторых, взаимосвязь выбора профессии и профессиональных склонностей, в-третьих, взаимосвязь коммуникативных и профессиональных склонностей. Первая гипотеза подтверждена наличием у респондентов положительной корреляции между коммуникативными склонностями и профессиональными намерениями в категории «человек – человек». Вторая гипотеза подтвердилась частично: в двух классах и одной студенческой группе выявлены различия между мини-группами по критерию профессиональных склонностей, т.е. профессиональные склонности могут быть фактором, объединяющим в мини-группы учащихся, но окончательный профессиональный выбор внутри групп различен, следовательно, определяется и другими факторами.

The aim of this African culturally based research is to establish whether a group of unmarried pregnant teenage girls experience rejection during their period of pregnancy as well as to determine whether they experienced rejection for whatever reason before falling pregnant. Seen in the context of the communal and person-centred life view as upheld by the African culture where respect for and well-being of the individual within the tribal and extended family structure is paramount, one would expect that unmarried girls finding themselves in a precarious situation such as premature pregnancy would experience understanding, acceptance and support. The research is quantitative as well as qualitative. The quantitative research focuses on 341 grade 11-leamers at seven secondary schools in the Free State Province of Education as well as in the Gauteng Department of Education. Questionnaires were presented with the aim of establishing the reason for teenage pregnancy; to research the thoughts, feelings and actions of the peer group toward pregnant teenage girls; to determine the presence of feelings of rejection of a group of pregnant teenage girls at the same schools; to determine the thoughts the girls have about themselves as well as about the future. On account of the fact that that the responses of the pregnant girls seemingly contradicted the responses given by the grade 11-peer group sample it was decided to supplement the quantitative research result with a qualitative research investigation by means of focus group interviews conducted with twelve willing to participate pregnant girls at two ofthe secondary schools who voluntarily agreed to participate. The research result indicates that although the pregnant girls did not experience rejection before falling pregnant they did however experience rejection after falling pregnant, especially from the peer group at school, educators, and certain sections of society. Asperger Syndrome is a developmental disorder and is characterized by problems in social interaction. These problems make it difficult for the child with Asperger Syndrome to have normal relationships. This particular syndrome has an enormous impact on the development of the child in middle childhood. This study is directed by the premise that the relationship of the child with Asperger Syndrome in middle childhood with members of the peer group can be improved with the help of parents and teachers. Due to this fact, guidelines are provided. The lack of a good relationship with the peer group experienced by the child with Asperger Syndrome was formulated as the research problem. The aim of the study was to advance the relationship between the child with Asperger Syndrome in middle childhood and members of his peer group. In order to achieve this goal, qualitative research was used and semi-structured interviews were conducted with participants. The data obtained was analyzed, verified against existing literature, and used to compile the guidelines. / Asperger Sindroom is 'n ontwikkeiingsteuring en word gekenmerk deur probleme in sosiale interaksie wat normale verhoudings vir die kind met Asperger Sindroom bemoeilik. Hierdie sindroom het 'n enorme impak op die ontwikkeling van die kind in die middelkinderjare. Hierdie studie is gerig deur die uitgangspunt dat die verhouding van die kind met Asperger Sindroom in die middelkinderjare met lede van die portuurgroep verbeter kan word met hulp van ouers en onderwysers. Daarom word riglyne in hierdie studie beskryf. Die gebrek aan gesonde verhoudinge met die portuurgroep wat deur die kind met Asperger Sindroom ervaar word is as navorsingsprobleem geformuleer. Die doel van studie was om die kind met Asperger Sindroom in die middelkinderjare se verhouding met die portuurgroep te bevorder. Ten einde hierdie doel te bereik, is die navorsingsproses deur kwantitatiewe navorsing gerig en semi-gestruktureerde onderhoude met deelnemers gevoer.
