Influência do polimorfismo do gene da ECA e do angiotensinogênio na hipertrofia miocárdica e melhora da capacidade funcional provocados pelo treinamento físico / Influence of angiotensinogen and ACE polymorphisms on myocardial hypertrophy and gain of aerobic capacity caused by exercise training in young individuals

Alves, Guilherme Barretto 10 August 2007 (has links)
Diversos polimorfismos do SRA têm sido descritos. / The renin-angiotensin system (RAS) plays an important role in the blood pressure regulation and balance of plasma volume. Besides, it mediates cell growth and proliferation. Some RAS polymorphisms have been identified. However, the impact of these polymorphisms in phenotype expression is still little understood. We investigated the effects of long-term physical exercise on left ventricular mass and aerobic power in young healthy individuals homozygous for the D or I allele of the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) polymorphism and M or T allele of the angiotensinogen polymorphism. Eighty three policemen (26± 4.5 years) completed the study. They were genotyped for the M235T gene angiotensinogen polymorphism (MM, n=16 e TT, n=25) and ACE gene insertion/deletion (I/D) polymorphism (II, n=18 e DD, n=32). The left ventricular morphology was evaluated by means of echocardiography and functional capacity by cardiopulmonary exercise test before and after 17 weeks of aerobic physical exercise (50 - 80% VO2 peak). VO2 peak and let ventricular mass index (LVMI) were similar among the four groups before physical training. Physical training significantly and similarly increased VO2 peak in homozygous II and DD groups (P<0.05 and P<0.05, respectively), and homozygous TT and MM groups (P<0.05 and P<0.05, respectively). Physical training significantly increased LVMI in II and DD groups (P<0.05 and P<0.05, respectively), and TT and MM groups (P<0.05 and P, <0.05 respectively). However, the LVMI in TT subjects was significantly greater increase than in MM subjects (P=0.04). The LVMI was not different between II and DD subjects. In conclusion, the left ventricular hypertrophy caused by physical training is exacerbated in homozygous TT subjects of angiotensinogen polymorphism. The ACE polymorphism and angiotensinogen polymorphisms do not influence the aerobic capacity gain caused by physical training. The ACE polymorphism does not influence the left ventricular hypertrophy caused by physical training.

Efeito da perda de peso associada ao treinamento físico na eficiência ventilatória durante o exercício físico progressivo em crianças obesas / Effect of the weight loss associated with exercise training on ventilatory efficiency during graded exercise in obese children

Prado, Danilo Marcelo Leite do 11 September 2008 (has links)
Crianças obesas mostraram reduzida capacidade cardiorrespiratória e menor eficiência ventilatória em comparação as controle (25,9 ±0,8 ml/kg/min vs. 36,3±1,9 ml/kg/min; 39,3±0,9 vs. 32,9±0,5, respectivamente) (P<0,05). Thus, we test the hypothesis that in obese children: 1) The ventilatory efficiency is decreased; and 2) Weight loss by diet alone improves the ventilatory efficiency and when diet is associated with exercise training could restore the ventilatory efficiency during graded exercise toward to lean children levels. Were studied 38 obese children (10.2±0.2 years; BMI >95%) randomly divided into two groups: Diet (n=17; BMI= 30±1 kg/m2) and Diet associated with exercise training (n=21; 28±1 kg/m2). Ten lean children were included as control group (9.9±0.3 years; 17± 0.5 kg/m2). All children performed cardiopulmonary exercise test for determining the ventilatory anaerobic threshold and cardiorespiratory capacity. The ventilatory efficiency was determined by the ventilatory equivalent of carbon dioxide (VE/VCO2) method at ventilatory anaerobic threshold. Obese children showed lower cardiorespiratory capacity and lower ventilatory efficiency than control (25.9 ±0.8 ml/kg/min vs. 36.3±1.9 ml/kg/min; 39.3 ±0.9 vs. 32.9 ±0.5, respectively) (P<0.05). After interventions all obese children had reduced body weight (Diet; = -5.4 ± 0.7 kg and Diet associated with exercise training; = -6.6 ± 0.7 kg; P<0.05). The group submitted to the diet alone did not improve either the cardiorespiratory capacity or ventilatory efficiency (P>0.05). In contrast, the group submitted to diet associated with exercise training increases cardiorespiratory capacity (VO2 = 6.9 ± 0.9 ml/kg/min; P=0.01) and improves ventilatory efficiency (VE/VCO2= -6.1 ± 0.9; P=0.01). Moreover, obese children submitted to diet associated with exercise training restore ventilatory efficiency showing similar responses during graded exercise compared to control group. In obese children, the ventilatory efficiency is impaired and weight loss by diet associated with exercise training, but not diet alone, improve ventilatory efficiency during the graded exercise toward to lean children levels. A decrease in dyspnea to efforts can contribute to greater adherence to the programs of physical exercise and increase the spontaneous physical activity, thus promoting greater energy expenditure and maintenance of weight loss

The influence of time-equated training programs on muscle hypertrophy, strength, and body composition

Unknown Date (has links)
The purpose of this study was to determine if barbell circuit training (RTC) as a model for concurrent training is superior to high intensity interval (CTHI) or moderate intensity continuous (CTMI) cycling for changes in muscular strength, hypertrophy, and body composition. Eleven trained males were recruited and counterbalanced into three groups. Each program featured three alternating days of resistance training per week, with one of the above time-equated (30-minute) concurrent training modalities between sessions. All groups increased muscular strength (p<0.05, RTC=7.48%, CTHI=10.32%, CTMI=15.74%) with no group differences (p>0.05). Increases in upper body muscle hypertrophy were similar in RTC and CTMI (p<0.01, RTC=20.18%, CTMI=20.97%), increases in lower body muscle hypertrophy only occurred in CTMI (VM: p=0.01, 38.59%, VLP: p=0.07, 13.33%), while no hypertrophy changes were detected in CTHI (p>0.05), no group experienced changes in body composition (p>0.05). These findings suggest similar muscle performance benefits from barbell circuit or cycling concurrent training. / Includes bibliography. / Thesis (M.S.)--Florida Atlantic University, 2015 / FAU Electronic Theses and Dissertations Collection

Análise da aptidão física relacionada à saúde de crianças com transtorno do desenvolvimento da coordenação / Analysis of health-related physical fitness of children with developmental coordination disorder

Roseane Oliveira do Nascimento 02 December 2013 (has links)
The aim of this study was to assess the physical fitness of children with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) in different degrees of commitment, Moderate (DCDm ) and severe (DCDs), and a group without DCD (sDCD). The study included 63 children aged 6-10 years old in the city of Manaus / Brazil. Three groups were formed and distributed as follows: 21 children with DCDm, 21 with TDCs according to the diagnostic criteria of the DMS - IV and 21 children sDCD. The components of physical fitness, body composition, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, and cardiorespiratory endurance were measured with the battery Fitnessgram. The results showed no statistically significant difference between the groups in any of the evaluated components. When we evaluated the results by component, according to the criteria of Fitnessgram, was observed that more than half of all children, regardless of classification group, met the requirements established by the minimum motor criteria referenced to health except the force component and muscular endurance. Children with DCDm, TDCs and sDCD showed similar levels of physical fitness and health. Thus, we emphasize that further research be conducted in particular in monitoring the development of motor skills and physical fitness by observing the interaction between these variables over time

Estudo da relação entre coordenação motora e aptidão física relacionada à saúde em escolares de seis a 13 anos de idade de ambos os sexos / Study of the relationship between motor coordination and physical fitness related to the health of students aged six to 13 years of both sexes

Godoi Filho, José Roberto de Maio 10 August 2018 (has links)
The present study aimed to investigate the relationship between motor coordination (CM) and physical fitness related to health (APFRS) of schoolchildren from 6 to 13 years of age of both sexes testing the following hypotheses: 1) Gross CM results are related to the gross results of the APFRS tests; 2) CM motor quotient is related to the sum of APFRS tests in which schoolchildren are classified as apt; 3) CM levels evaluated by QM are related to the sum of APFRS tests in which schoolchildren are classified as apt; and 4) A classification of CM based on QM levels are related to the state of apt/inapt in the APFRS tests. 531 schoolchildren (252 males and 279 females) divided into the initial age group of 6-8 years (n=175), the intermediate age group of 9-10 years (n=186), and the advanced age group of 11 -13 years (n=170) were evaluated by the KTK and the Fitnessgram battery tests. The results revealed that for hypothesis 1, there was a moderate association between the gross results of MC and the gross results of the following APFRS tests: mile run, abdominal muscular endurance, arms muscular endurance and trunk flexibility in all groups; in relation to hypothesis 2, a moderate association between CM motor quotient and the number of schoolchildren classified as apt in the APFRS test was confirmed only in the advanced age group of 11-13 years (rô = 0.32); concerning hypothesis 3, a weak association between CM level and the number of APFRS tests in which schoolchildren were classified as apt was confirmed also only in the advanced age group of 11-13 years (rô = 0.26); and in relation to hypothesis 4, being classified as expected/unexpected CM does not relate to being apt/inapt in the 4 tests of APFRS in none of the investigated groups. Therefore, it is concluded that CM is associated to APFRS but this depends on the criteria used to evaluate both constructs

Exercício físico e estresse oxidativo: influência do nível de condicionamento físico na hipertensão arterial e na relação entre substâncias antioxidantes e oxidantes em idosos / Physical exercise and oxidative stress: influence of training status in arterial hypertension and in the relationship between antioxidants and oxidative substances in elderly.

Jacomini, André Mourão 11 August 2015 (has links)
Background: Systemic arterial hypertension (SAH) has been appointed as one of the main risk factors for cardiovascular disease, especially for elderly population. Oxidative stress and sedentary lifestyles have been suggested as etiological factors SAH. High levels of oxidative stress are characterized by increased production of reactive oxygen species, which has strong affinity with nitric oxide, which participates in blood pressure control process. Exercise has been pointed to regulate this relationship. Objectives: Investigate the relationship between nitric oxide concentrations and the pro and antioxidant activity, and if this relationship can be modulated by different physical fitness levels; verify if good physical fitness levels contributes to a better control of blood pressure values of the elderly and its influence on the balance between pro and antioxidant markers of elderly. Methods: Cross-sectional study performed in Bauru, SP, Brazil, with 161 elderly with an average age of 66,94 (6,83) years old. The variables studied were: physical fitness was evaluated by indirect determination of maximal oxygen uptake and by Functional Fitness Battery Test proposed by American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) to determine the general fitness functional index (GFFI); anthropometric variables related to risk factors for the development of cardiovascular disease; measuring of biomarkers of oxidative stress (superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, thiobarbituric acid reactive substances and measuring protein carbonyls) and vasodilator substances (nitrite and nitrate); Descriptive statistics was calculated and Pearsons correlation coefficient was performed to detect correlation among variables. One-way ANOVA with Tukey post-hoc test was performed to assess statistically significant differences between groups (p<0.05). The GFFI was considered as an independent variable. Results: The general results of this study showed that good levels of physical fitness were related to lower levels of pro-oxidative activity, higher levels of antioxidant activity and higher concentration of nitrite and nitrate. This combination may be responsible for the lower levels of BP in subjects with better physical fitness.
