”Lill-Marta” och ”Granen” med hela svenska folket : En kvantitativ studie om Aftonbladets gestaltning av herrarnas och damernas världsmästerskap i fotboll / “Lill-Marta” and “Granen” with the entire Swedish people : A quantitative study on how Aftonbladet constructed the men's and women's FIFA World Cup

Rydeberg, Herman, Kilvéus, Isabella January 2020 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to examine how the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet wrote and constructed their articles about the FIFA World Cup 2018 and the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019. The other purpose was to see if the Sweden men’s national football team and the Sweden women’s national football team got the same space in the newspaper and to see if the teams are portrayed in different ways. This study is based on both a quantitative content analysis and a critical discourse analysis. To do so we analyzed all of the articles that were published during both of the World Cups group stages. In total, the study examines 291 articles, split between two time periods. For our critical discourse analysis, we used six articles, all written the day after a game in the group stage.   The great conclusion that was made in our study showed that Aftonbladet more often wrote about the Sweden men’s national football team then they did about the Sweden women’s national football team. It was also common that the articles constructed about the men’s team were more likely to be about their achievements and their game on the pitch when the articles about the women’s team were more likely to be about feelings and their personal life. A pattern that we could follow during our study was that it was more often male journalists wrote about the men’s World Cup and that women wrote about the women’s World Cup.

Přestupní řád v českém hokeji a jeho dopady / Transfer regulations in Czech hockey and its impacts

Matějček, Martin January 2021 (has links)
Title: Transfer regulations in Czech ice hockey and its impacts Objectives: The main goal of this work is, by research, to evaluate the functioning of the current transfer rules in Czech ice hockey and to reveal its shortcomings. Subsequently, to develop proposals for its modifications, which can be applied in the Czech hockey environment. Methods: To obtain the necessary data, the research consists of both quantitative and qualitative parts. Thus, a combination of two methods was used, namely electronic questioning and in-depth interview. The work also used the method of document analysis - the current transfer regulations. The shortcomings and subsequent impacts on the environment of ice hockey have been ascertained from the first expert, and what are the reasons for functioning in current form, from the second one. In both cases, the interview took place as an interview using instructions. Development diagrams were created to interpret the results. To verify the results of in-depth interviews and to find out the possibility of applying potential changes, an electronic survey was conducted among the representatives of individual clubs. Results: The research has shown that the current transfer rules actually have several problems that can negatively affect individuals, but also the hockey...

Inovativní přehrávač hudby pro chytré telefony a PC / Innovative Music Player for Smartphones and PC

Richter, Roman January 2021 (has links)
The goal of this thesis is to create a music player for smartphones as well as PCs that works with local music files in the user's device and which can learn which songs does the user like based on their actions during listening to music. The music player can, among other things, remember which songs were skipped by the user, when was volume turned up, or how many times was a certain song played. Each song has a score that is calculated based on these actions. With a higher score, there is also a higher chance of playing the song in the future. The results of my thesis are two full-featured versions of music player, which are capable of communication with each other to ensure synchronization of song scores. The main benefit of this thesis is an improvement of user experience during listening to music, which is achieved by the application's algorithm for song selection and minimalistic user interface.

Přehrávač MP3 souborů v FPGA / FPGA-based MP3 player

Náplava, Tomáš January 2012 (has links)
This work deals with the design and implementation of a hardware unit that is capable of playing MPEG-1 Layer III files, compliant with ISO/IEC 11172-3. There are given the benefits of using the MP3 format and principles that make it possible to compress the size of the resulting music recordings. The file format and all parts of the header are thoroughly studied as well as the method of encoding information. The process of the data decoding is divided into several consecutive, more or less discrete functional units and these units are designed and described in a hardware description language VHDL. There are also discussed features of FPGA chips - programmable gate arrays. Those are used for physical realization of the MP3 player. A development board is selected, including such an FPGA chip and other resources that allow synthesis of the entire circuit and playback in real time.

Normativa styrkevärden i höftadduktorer och -abduktorer hos damfotbollsspelare på elitnivå

Karlsson, Lynn January 2021 (has links)
Introduction: Hip strength is an important physical factor in soccer for both performance and for injury prevention. Despite this normative isometric strength values are lacking for hip adduction and abduction in healthy women’s soccer players. Aim: The aim of this cross-sectional study was to examine the isometric hip strength in adduction, unilateral and bilateral, and hip abduction unilateral with a handheld dynamometer in healthy women's soccer players. Methods: 29 healthy female elite soccer players were included in the study. The isometric hip strength was measured one time in the pre-season with a hand-held dynamometer. Hip adduction and abduction were measured unilaterally in a side lying position and the bilateral hip adductor strength was measured in a squeeze test in a supine position. An addition of an external fixation of the dynamometer was applied during testing. Results: Strength values (mean, SD ±) were: hip abduction dominant leg 1,94 ± 0,3 Nm/kg, non-dominant leg 1,81± 0,3 Nm/kg, hip adduction dominant leg 1,61 ± 0,3 Nm/kg, non-dominant leg 1,51 ± 0,3 Nm/kg, squeeze-test 4.11 ± 0.5 N. The strength ratio of adduction/abduction were 0,83 dominant leg and 0,84 non-dominant leg. The dominant leg was significantly stronger (p<0,05) in both hip abduction and adduction, 7 % and 8 %, respectively. Conclusion: For women’s soccer players the dominant leg was significantly stronger in both hip abduction and adduction. The hip abductors were significantly stronger than the adductors in both the dominant and non-dominant leg with a strength ratio adductor/abductor 0,83 and 0,84 respectively.

Godlike Views Of Human Capital : A Qualitative Case Study of Different Internal Stakeholder Views of Human Capital within an Esport Organization

Johnson, Sebastian, Norman, Filip January 2021 (has links)
The esport industry is growing, and it is growing fast. Research suggests that the phenomenon of esport poses a great opportunity to research the development and assessment of human expertise in our modern digitized society. Consequently, the research in this thesis is that of a case study of an esport organization through which we have sought to answer the research question: "How do stakeholders within an esport organization view human capital, that is the investment in, and the development, assessment, and treatment of players?" We answered this research question by gathering relevant empirical material through five semi-structured interviews, which we analyzed to gain a deeper understanding of the underlying reasons and different justifications as to how human capital in the organization is viewed by different stakeholders within the organization. We present four general conclusions. Firstly, there were similar views among the different stakeholders regarding investments in and development of players. Secondly, it was apparent that the stakeholders viewed the players as the core of the business. Thirdly, upper management seemed to carry more of a goal-oriented perspective on the players development as opposed to stakeholders more ‘hierarchically’ adjacent to the players. And lastly, the investments in the players' development were justified through various aspects. Through these conclusions, we i) contribute to managerial/organizational knowledge on how or how not to invest in, develop, assess, and treat human capital in an esport organization, ii) contribute theoretically by applying various different theories and concepts in an esport context; thus expanding the theoretical knowledge of the capabilities and usage of said theories and concepts, and iii) contribute to the empirical body of literature regarding the esport phenomenon by portraying different stakeholder views of human capital within an esport context.

Otome Game localization : A case study of the character Toma from Amnesia

Dunkel-Duerr, Evamaria January 2021 (has links)
Using the Otome game Amnesia and its localized version Amnesia: Memories as a case study, the phenomenon of Otome games was explored from a translation- and Japanese studies' perspective. This paper investigated how translation choices shape character personality, and, as such, Western views. Toma, the most popular character from the Amnesia franchise according to Japanese popularity rankings, was received differently by the Western audience. This study aimed at exploring how translation choices might be related to this difference in reception. As such, it posed the questions: In what respect could changes that occurred during the localization process have led to an alteration of Toma's personality? How could these changes explain the discrepancy between player reception in Japan and the West? Upon analyzing the scripts, a connection between the effect created by certain translation strategies and Western player reception became apparent. Effects identified included the erasure of entry points for "self-inserting" players, the creation of a distorted first impression and the infringement of the players' spaces in ways not present in the original. The connection between character personality and the creation of an "equivalent gameplay experience" was explored. It resulted in the confirmation of the hypothesis surrounding their overall inseparability in an Otome game context, with the exception of a minority of justifiable cases where personality alterations were conducted in favor of a culturally equivalent gameplay experience. The impact of pre-filled gaps in the text led to decreased opportunities for players to contribute to the creation of meaning, while the presence of mistranslations sparked feelings of confusion regarding the character's sanity. Taking the role of the translator, the player and the virtual love interest into consideration, this paper suggests an approach derived from acting as a tool for future character personality preservation in Otome game translation.

Expertskattens tillämpning i ishockeysverige

Malm, Christoffer, Johansson, Daniel January 2018 (has links)
AimThe aim with this study is to firstly describe what types of taxes and benefits there are that import players can take advantage of when coming to Sweden to play ice hockey. Furthermore, the study is also aiming to clarify the effects that the application of expert tax has on the ice hockey in Sweden. The questions that we are going to answer are:What tax benefits allows within the Inkomstskattelagen (IL) for import players and to what extension have the Swedish ice hockey clubs been able to benefit from the expert tax when it comes to contract import players to Sweden? What advantages and disadvantages has the application of tax reductions of import players in Sweden resulted in for the Swedish ice hockey organizations?MethodWe have used two different types of methods for this study. First of all, we used a qualitative method when it came to interviews and the empirical study of previously written studies and books that were relevant for this study. The second method is the method of law that we have used when it comes to studying and understanding the many layers of the different laws. We have also included a few legal cases that we find highly interesting for the outcome of this study. Analysis and discussionThe benefits that came when the expert tax entered the Swedish market were really a game changer. From 2012 and forward an import player could come to Sweden and play ice hockey with a tax reduction that Swedish players weren’t allowed to use. The expert tax that came in 2012, was now open for more than just scientists that the law was from the beginning created for. Professional athletes were one of the groups of people that could use it, and not only did the player themselves earn money by using this reduction. The team that hired the players was also allowed to benefit from the tax reduction. The conclusion of this is that more import players now comes to Sweden for a reduced tax benefit. This leads to many more import players that are aiming to come to Sweden and that in return leads to the SHL now becoming even more powerful and attractive in the market of ice hockey.

The Impact of Sound on Player Experience - A literature study on how players experience the encounter with sound in horror-games

Wöhrman, Sebastian, Ningalei, Nael January 2018 (has links)
Player decision modeling can provide useful guidance to understand player performance in games. This information is used to increase consideration of player characteristics from the user’s perspective and develop more user-centered video games. This paper presents an initial proposal of a factor such as sound that may be considered when developing games, to see if horror games are facing challenges related to sound aspects of the game. Through related work, experiments, interviews and observations this paper aims to answer how sound in horror-games changes our gameplay experience as well as what impact the absence of sound has on a horror-game. We also present the results of this field study and present some suggestions for future research.
