La polémique dans le Coran : Essai d'analyse du contre-discours et de la riposte coranique.

La recherche proposée souhaite être une contribution aux études coraniques contemporaines. Elle vise à analyser un genre prépondérant du Coran : la polémique. L'étude s'appuie pour l'essentiel sur l'analyse du contre-discours tenu par les détracteurs du Coran, dont ce dernier se fait lui-même l'écho, et la riposte coranique qu'elle génère. L'investigation tentera de répondre aux questions suivantes : comment le discours coranique réfute la parole qui le nie ? Quelles sont les stratégies discursives mises en place ? Quelles sont les représentations de l'opposant qu'elles entraînent ? A quels effets (de sens) sur qui et sur quoi ces stratégies conduisent-elles ? Ce travail empruntera des voies méthodologiques pluridisciplinaires issues des sciences de l'histoire des religions, des théories de la linguistique (la polyphonie, l'intertextualité et le discours rapporté) et des sciences de l'argumentation et de la rhétorique (le modèle dialogal et les questions argumentatives). / Although counter-discourse - or the Qur'ān's quotation of opponents real or fictitious - is a fundamental characteristic of the Qurānic rhetoric, it has never been systematically studied. This PhD seeks to partly fill in this gap. For this purpose, our work will propose a localization, a quantification and a categorization of the phenomenon in the Qurānic corpus. The investigation will attempt to answer the following questions : how the Qur'anic discourse rejects the words that denies itself ? What are the discursive strategies in place ? What are the representations of the opponents ? This work will use multidisciplinary science of history of religions, theories of linguistics (polyphony, intertextuality, and reported speech) and science of argumentation and rhetoric.

O Diálogo com Trifão de São Justino mártir e a relação entre judeus e cristãos (século II) / The dialogue with trypho of São Justin Martir and the relationship between jews and christians

O presente trabalho procura analisar a relação entre judeus e cristãos no segundo século a partir dos elementos apresentados por S. Justino no Diálogo com Trifão. Para tanto, julgamos necessário contextualizar a obra no conjunto de transformações ocorridas no interior do Império Romano e na atuação do Estado frente às duas religiões. Desta forma, as Guerras Judaicas na Palestina e as perseguições aos cristãos repercutiram na relação entre judeus e cristãos. Além disso, pensamos que o judeucristianismo e algumas características do cristianismo na cidade de Roma nos ajudam a compreender melhor as intenções de Justino com sua obra. Discutiremos as principais teorias a respeito dos destinatários do Diálogo. Acreditamos ser possível investigar pontos de encontro e de aproximação entre judeus e cristãos, a partir daquilo que Justino demonstra conhecer sobre o judaísmo de seu tempo. No entanto, também é possível perceber no texto as tensões e rivalidades entre os dois grupos de crentes gestadas em um ambiente polêmico. Ambos os casos requerem uma análise mais crítica das palavras do apologista. / The aim of this essay is to analyze the relationship between Jews and Christians in the second century from the evidence presented by S. Justin in the Dialogue with Trypho. For this, we deem necessary to contextualize the work in the set of changes within the Roman Empire and the state action against the two religions. Thus, the Jewish War in Palestine and the persecution of Christians affected the relationship between Jews and Christians. Furthermore, we believe that Judeo-Christianity and some features of Christianity in Rome help us better understand the intentions of Justin with his work. We will discuss the main theories about the recipients of the Dialogue. We believe it is possible to investigate points of contact and rapprochement between Jews and Christians from what Justin knows about the Judaism of his time. However, the text also reveals the tensions and rivalries between the two groups of believers, gestated in a controversial environment. Both cases require a more critical analysis of the apologist´s words.

Cette recherche se penche sur l’oeuvre polémique du réformateur Jean Calvin et plus particulièrement sur le corpus d’opuscules qu’il publie entre 1531 et 1564, pour prendre position sur la scène théologique. À partir de l’analyse historique de ces prises de plume, la thèse s’attache à éclairer le fonctionnement du dispositif polémique, à souligner les spécificités et l’évolution de la guerre des mots au XVIe siècle et à mettre au jour des normes discursives, des pratiques d’écriture et des habitudes de lecture caractéristiques de la période renaissante. Postulant l’existence d’un jeu polémique, fait de contraintes sociales mais aussi de choix individuels, cette étude cherche, dans le même temps, à comprendre les conditions de l’engagement de Calvin, en analysant les configurations qui président à chaque intervention publique et les motivations qu’elles traduisent. Pour conduire cette analyse d’histoire du discours, l’étude se concentre sur les jeux de posture du polémiste Calvin, c’est-à-dire sur les modalités de la présentation de soi et la fabrique d’une légitimité. Comment des stratégies auctoriales et éditoriales sont-elles ainsi élaborées, pour circonscrire un public de lecteurs et porter un message efficace ? Que dénotent-elles du positionnement du polémiste sur la scène religieuse des années 1530-1560 ? C’est une conversion dans l’ordre de l’èthos, un glissement de l’autorité des Lettres au ministère de la Parole, que le corpus polémique invite à suivre. / This research examines the controversial work of the reformer John Calvin. It particularly investigates the corpus of pamphlets he published between 1531 and 1564 in order to take a stance on the theological stage. Based first on a historical analysis of these pamphlets, the thesis seeks to elucidate how the controversy operated, to highlight the features and the evolution of the war of words in the sixteenth century, and to shed light on discursive norms, writing processes and reading habits of the Renaissance period. Firmly claiming the existence of a controversy, one that is constructed by social constraints but by individual choices as well, this study also analyses the specific qualities of Calvin’s undertaking by interpreting the salient patterns in his public interventions and the motives behind them. In this historical analysis of discourse, the study focuses on the polemical postures of Calvin, that is to say the manner in which he presents himself and creates his legitimacy. How did Calvin devise authorial and editorial strategies in order to circumscribe an audience of readers and convey an effective message ? What did these choices reveal about the polemicist’s positioning on the religious stage from the 1530’s to the 1560’s ? Analysing this polemical corpus enables one to witness a conversion in the order of ethos, a shift of authority from Letters to the Ministry of Word.

This thesis examines Nietzsche’s relationship to Socrates through his positive philosophy of education, arguing that the latter is crucial to resolving the apparent contradictions of the former. While there is a good deal of literature dealing with Nietzsche’s criticisms of the educational system of his day, there is relatively little on his own account of what education should be. I point out that the Greek conception of agon (roughly “contest” in English), is central to Nietzsche’s understanding of education, and informs his ideal of the student-mentor relationship. This is the model on which, I contend, Nietzsche’s relation to Socrates needs to be interpreted. Such an interpretation helps to make sense of, and reconcile, the divergent pictures of Socrates Nietzsche presents in his texts, which are sometimes admiring and imitative, sometimes hostile and contemptuous, and have led to conflicting interpretations within the scholarship on this subject. My analysis aims to shed new light on both the figure of Nietzsche’s Socrates, and Nietzsche’s philosophy of education, by relating these to one another.

Ce mémoire propose une analyse critique du discours de la War on Christmas et, plus largement, de celui des culture wars. En mobilisant la caractérisation du discours historico-polémique que fait Foucault dans Il faut défendre la société, l'étude présentée dans ce travail vise à comprendre comment le discours de la guerre appliqué au domaine politique tend à polariser les enjeux et à radicaliser les solutions proposées. De plus, cette analyse souligne l'historiographie spécifique qui soutient ces discours des culture wars : celle de l'histoire des luttes pour défendre l'idéal du nationalisme chrétien, de l'Amérique glorieuse trahie et souillée et de l'âge d'or vers lequel on cherche à retourner. Le discours de la War on Christmas est examiné au travers des allocutions du polémiste Bill O’Reilly et du président Trump. Plus spécifiquement, ce mémoire cherche à mettre en lumière l'importance de l'aspect métaphorique et performatif de ce type de discours, deux dimensions qui permettent de comprendre pleinement l'influence qu'il exerce sur le monde sociopolitique. / This master's thesis offers a critical analysis of the War on Christmas discourse and, more broadly, of the culture wars. By mobilizing the characterization of the historical-polemical discourse that Foucault makes in Il faut défendre la société, this study seeks to understand how the war discourse applied to politics tends to polarize the issues and radicalise the proposed solutions. Moreover, this analysis underlines the specific historiographical basis of the culture wars discourse: the history of the struggle to defend the ideal of Christian Nationalism which forms the basis of a mythical Glorious America, betrayed and defiled, and that of a gone Golden Age which we try to reclaim. The War on Christmas discourse is studied through the speeches of the polemist Bill O’Reilly and of President Trump. The study presented in this thesis seeks to put forward the importance of the metaphorical and performative dimensions of this type of discourse. These two particular aspects allow a more complete understanding of the influence that this kind of speech can exert on the sociopolitical world.

To do this job, we traced these two following objectives: to search, in the selected polemics, the relationship between language, history and linguistic nationalism, and identify the construction of brazility senses to the brazilian portuguese through the historical development determinations, checking the gramatical codification process, under the Brazilian history. From XIX century, Brazil takes influences of other nations, farthes on the portuguese people, who presents new cultural perspectives, causing intelectual and material changes in the country. At this time, Brazil was taken by great libertarian ideals, which stimulated the nation throug the political, social and economical independence. Came to sight many controversies covering the naturalization related to the language in use on Brazil, because Brazil, nearly out of the independency process had a moment of nationalistic passions. This research justify itself in order to find an historical approach of the Portuguese Language, in a period of time when large number of intelectuals wanted to keep the kingdom linguistics model against a small group os those who wished a new language, entirely free of the portuguese rules, released from Portugal. We picked up a polemic established by a brazilian journalist and a portuguese writer, which shows the tensions brought at the time of our iminet Republic, unleashing a linguistic nationalism. The study of this polemic revealed the relashion between the tag of language and history, turning this document capable to remove the veil of language and a part of a man history. In such case, we were allowed to see in what way the portuguese language in use in brazil got distance from the portugal gramatical rules. Based upon Linguistical Historiography s teorical fundaments we were able to re-read and re-write the facts of our language and it s hirtory, by the pricipals of the contexture and the imanent theoretical adaptation. Examinating this polemic we found the linguistics and historical tags that revealed conflicts brought by the independency, the beggining of our linguistic nationalism, profit of miscegenation of Brazilian and Portugal history and the great number of cultures here stablished in the last quarter of XIX century / Esta dissertação situa-se no âmbito da Historiografia Lingüística e tem por tema o estudo da relação língua, história e nacionalismo lingüístico, a partir da polêmica travada entre Carlos de Laet e Camilo Castelo Branco, no último quartel do século XIX, que marcou um confronto do aspecto espaço-temporal da língua portuguesa, construindo diferentes sentidos para a história do Brasil.Para executar essa tarefa traçaram-se os objetivos de examinar, na polêmica selecionada, a relação língua, história e nacionalismo lingüístico; identificar a construção de sentido de brasilidade para o português do Brasil por meio das determinações histórico- culturais, verificar os processos de codificação gramatical, sob à luz da História do Brasil. A partir do século XIX, o Brasil recebe influências de outros povos, além dos portugueses que apresentam novas perspectivas culturais, que ocasionam mudanças nas condições intelectuais e materiais do país.Nesse período, o Brasil foi tomado por grandes ideais libertários, que impulsionaram a nação para a independência não só política, como econômica e social. Surgiram inúmeras polêmicas em que se debateram questões de nacionalização relativas à língua em uso no Brasil, pois o Brasil recémsaído da independência vivia um momento de paixões nacionalistas. Essa pesquisa se justifica por buscar uma abordagem histórica da Língua Portuguesa, em um período em que grande número de intelectuais desejava a continuidade dos padrões lingüísticos do reino contra um pequeno grupo dos que desejavam uma língua, totalmente desvinculada das normas lusitanas, independente de Portugal. Selecionou-se a polêmica travada entre um jornalista brasileiro e um escritor português, por se entender que retrata as tensões geradas pela independência e iminência da República, desencadeando um nacionalismo lingüístico. A análise da polêmica revela a relação entre as marcas lingüísticas e históricas, o que a torna um documento capaz de desvelar a língua e a história do homem. Dessa forma, permite que se perceba em que medida o português em uso no Brasil se distancia da norma lusitana. Embasou-se teoricamente nos fundamentos da Historiografia Lingüística que permite uma reeleitura e reescritura dos fatos da língua e de sua história , por meio dos princípios: da contextualização, da imanência e da adequação teórica . A análise da polêmica demonstrou que as marcas histórico-lingüísticas presentes nela revelam os conflitos gerados pela independência, o desencadear do nacionalismo lingüístico e que o português em uso no Brasil pouco se distancia da norma vigente em Portugal, apresentando marcas de nacionalismo lingüístico, fruto do entrelaçamento da história do Brasil e de Portugal e das etnias e culturas aqui existentes, no último quartel do século XIX

This study aims to contribute to the linguistic studies of a past that is present in the portuguese language. Particulary: 1.depicting the political, social and cultural moment of in the beginning XIX century and in the ending XX century; 2. to examine the vices of language; 3. to describe the position of the grammarians. This essay is justified by the fact of the debaters have adopted a conception of language as a naturalist principle. The methodological procedure used was the theoretical descriptive and deductive. The theoretical support was sought and the analyse of the texts was followed according the linear reading of Réplica and Tréplica works. This research is grounded on the theoritical presuppositions on the Linguistic Ideas History as regards its purposes, the results pointed out that the historical, social, political and cultural moment influenced the polemists on the privileged theme vices of language. It has concluded that the studious have adopted a purist attitude resulting in the conception of language therefore they defending it of the vices that corrupt the Portuguese language / Esta dissertação situa-se na linha de pesquisa da História e Descrição da Língua Portuguesa, tendo por tema um estudo sobre os vícios de linguagem e por objeto de estudo a polêmica gramatical entre os estudiosos Rui Barbosa e Ernesto Carneiro Ribeiro. O objetivo desta pesquisa visa contribuir com os estudos lingüísticos de um passado que se faz presente na língua portuguesa. Especificamente: 1. Descrever o momento político, social e cultural do final do século XIX e início do século XX; 2. Examinar os vícios de linguagem; 3. Descrever a posição dos gramáticos. Justificase esta investigação pelo fato de os debatedores adotarem uma concepção de língua enquanto princípio naturalista. O procedimento metodológico adotado para este trabalho foi o teórico-descritivo-dedutivo. Buscou-se o suporte teórico, selecionou-se o corpus, seguindo-se a análise de textos, de acordo com a leitura linear das obras Réplica e Tréplica. We aim to highlight the role of polemic interactions in the construction of biological knowledge by polemic among paleoanthropologists Tim White and Esteban Sarmiento on the hominid fossil Ardipithecus ramidus ("Ardi"). We also propose to evaluate the development of a teaching sequence about the subject, in a continued formation course for teachers of science and biology of basic public network Cascavel-PR and region. We justify the choice of the theme "human biological evolution" because it is a area little or anything addressed during the initial formation (graduation) and in the absence of continued formation courses. The decision in research on polemic interactions ocurred due to the fact that these are the natural dialogical context of science in which are elaborated theories. The choice of White-Sarmiento polemic interaction is justified due this scientific controversy proposes a revision of two hypotheses relatively well accepted by the scientific community: "savannah hypothesis" and the "hypothesis chimpanzee-like common ancestor". In addition, we have already used simplified way this polemic in high school resulting in fruitful discussions about science. Such polemic interaction was analyzed according to the criteria established by the philosopher Marcelo Dascal (1994; 2005; 2006) and classified as the dominant type discussion. The empirical work involved collecting data from the answers provided by teachers to an initial questionnaire and a final. In addition to the questionnaires, we collect data from filming during the formation course. The data made were evaluated by Content Analysis methodology. The analysis and discussion of data obtained from empirical research with teachers has highlighted the urgency and relevance in proposing at least one elective course that addresses human biological evolution in the initial formation. However, we hope that such content should be included in compulsory subject. Sets up also of utmost urgency offering continued formation courses in the area for teachers already inserted at schools. We also evidenced the importance of polemic interactions for the development and advancement of scientific knowledge. We conclude that teaching biology and science using polemic interactions (scientific controversies) may be in satisfactory teaching tool to present the history of science and it nature, since scientific activity is permeated by conflicts and intellectual battles. Present this scientific image can improve the understanding of students in relation to the internal operating mode of science within the scientific communities, highlighting its competitive and collective character. Some teachers realized the presence of non-scientific values in White-Sarmiento scientific controversies. This is important to remind us not to introduce to students the scientist's image as someone alien to society and culture / A pesquisa aqui apresentada tem como tema central a Evolução Biológica Humana, suas Interações Polêmicas (controvérsias científicas) e a Formação Continuada de professores. Temos como objetivos evidenciar o papel das interações polêmicas na construção do conhecimento biológico através da polêmica entre os paleoantropólogos Tim White e Esteban Sarmiento relativa ao fóssil hominídeo Ardipithecus ramidus (“Ardi”). Propomos, também, avaliar o desenvolvimento de uma sequência didática sobre o tema, em um curso de formação continuada para professores de Ciências e Biologia da rede básica pública de Cascavel-PR e região. Justificamos a escolha do tema “evolução biológica humana” por se tratar de uma área pouco ou nada abordada durante a formação inicial (graduação) e devido à ausência de cursos de formação continuada. A decisão em pesquisar sobre as interações polêmicas se deve ao fato de que essas constituem o contexto dialógico natural da ciência no qual se elaboram as teorias. A escolha da interação polêmica White-Sarmiento se justifica devido a essa controvérsia científica propor a revisão de duas hipóteses relativamente bem aceitas pela comunidade científica, a “hipótese da savana” e a “hipótese do ancestral comum chimpanzé-semelhante”. Além disso, já havíamos utilizado simplificadamente essa polêmica no ensino médio resultando em férteis discussões acerca da ciência. Tal polêmica fora analisada de acordo com os critérios estabelecidos pelo filósofo Marcelo Dascal (1994; 2005; 2006) e classificada como sendo do tipo dominante discussão. O trabalho empírico envolveu a coleta de dados a partir das respostas fornecidas pelos professores a um questionário inicial e a um final. Além dos questionários, coletamos dados a partir de filmagens durante o curso de formação. Os dados constituídos foram avaliados mediante a metodologia de Análise de Conteúdo. As análises e discussões dos dados obtidos na pesquisa empírica com os professores permitiu evidenciar a urgência e relevância em se propor, ao menos, uma disciplina optativa que aborde a evolução biológica humana na formação inicial. No entanto, aspiramos que tal conteúdo, deveria constar em disciplina obrigatória. Configura-se também, de máxima urgência, o oferecimento de cursos de formação continuada na área, para os docentes já inseridos nas escolas. Também evidenciamos a importância das interações polêmicas para o desenvolvimento e avanço do conhecimento científico. Concluímos que ensinar biologia e ciências utilizando interações polêmicas (controvérsias científicas) pode constituir-se em satisfatória ferramenta pedagógica para apresentar a história da ciência e a sua natureza, uma vez que a atividade científica é permeada por conflitos e batalhas intelectuais. Apresentar essa imagem científica pode melhorar a compreensão dos estudantes em relação ao modo de trabalho interno da ciência, dentro das comunidades científicas, destacando seu caráter competitivo e coletivo. Alguns professores perceberam a presença de valores não-científicos na controvérsia científica White-Sarmiento e isso torna-se relevante para nos lembrar de não apresentar aos alunos a imagem do cientista como alguém alheio à sociedade e à cultura.

Les recherches récentes ont tenté une nouvelle approche du concept de " religions orientales", mis en relief par Franz Cumont dans Les religions orientales dans le paganisme romain. Tout au long de ce processus de déconstruction de l'idée des «religions orientales», on remarque l'absence d'une relecture approfondie des écrits chrétiens. Il est primordial de comprendre l'apport des sources chrétiennes dans l'établissement et l'élaboration de cette nouvelle perspective. La relecture des écrits de Tertullien est d'autant plus nécessaire qu'il a joué un rôle dans les théories établies par Cumont qui définissait le culte mithriaque comme le rival du christianisme. et les "cultes orientaux" deviennent sous sa plume le missing link entre paganisme et christianisme. Tertullien écrit à une époque charnière de l'histoire du christianisme : celle de la construction et de l'expression de l'identité chrétienne. Le polémiste a recours à Cybèle, aux dieux isiaques et à Mithra dans ses traités apologétiques et antihérétiques. Cette étude propose une relecture des lignes "orientales" de l'oeuvre de Tertullien à la lumière du contexte polémique, rhétorique et identitaire de ses traités. Pour mieux appréhender le rôle qu'il attribue à ses divinités, il est nécessaire de dépouiller ces passages, de démonter l'argumentation de Tertullien et de s'imprégner de la dialectique chrétienne pour saisir les rouages de la pensée de l'apologète. La construction binaire et antithétique de ses ouvrages nous permet d'évaluer la vision chrétienne des rapports religieux et de comprendre la place des dieux "orientaux" dans la définition chrétienne de l' "autre", en opposition à la nouvelle religio. / Research attempts to conceptualize a new approach to the "religions orientales" advanced by Franz Cumont in his book Les religions orientales dans le paganisme romain. It is necessary to understand what the contribution of the study of Christian sources to the establishment and development of this new perspective and a redefinition of the so-Called oriental gods is. This re-Reading of Tertullian is necessary due to the role of Cumont's theories : the scholar defined the Mithraic cult as the rival of Christianity. The "oriental religions" in his writings represent the missing link between paganism and Christianity. Tertullian wrote during a turning point in Christian history when the identity of Christianity was being established. The polemicist often uses Cybele, the deities of the gens Isiac and Mithras in his apologetic and anti-Heretical treaties. This study proposes a re-Reading of the "oriental" in the works of the polemicist, taking into consideration the polemic and rhetoric and the concept of identity in his treaties. In order to understand the role reserved by the author for the deities that were so important to Cumont, it is necessary to analyse these passages, collect the controversial issues behind each citation of the Magna Mater, Isis and Mithras, and deconstruct the arguments of Tertullian, in the light of Christian dialectic to comprehend the workings of the apologist's mind. Similarly,the binary and antithetical construction of the works of Tertullian allow us to assess the Christian vision of religious relationship and understand the place of the so-Called Oriental gods in the Christian definition of the "other" in opposition to the new religio.
