Česká a moravská účast na christianizaci Polska / Bohemian and Moravian Participation during the Christianisation of Poland

Halašková, Stanislava January 2015 (has links)
The thesis focused on the particular phases of christianization of Poland which occured with Czech or Moravian participation, i.e. influences of mission of Cyril and Methodius in Poland, marriage of Polish princ Mieszko with Czech prince-daughter Dobroslava and his subsequent baptism and foundation of archiepiscopate in Gniezno above the tomb of St. Adalbert. Taking into account the historical and territorial developement of the considered area the thesis is divided into three parts. The first chapter is dedicated to christianization of the southern Poland. The mission of Cyril and Methodius should be heading into this area in the end of 9th century. After carefull examining of written sources and results of current research one can say, that it is not possible to confirm any Great-Moravian influences on the christianization of southern Poland. Similar results were reached also in the case of Czech participation in the process accepting of Christian faith in the second half of the 10th century. In this time should be the contemporary Silesia and Lesser Poland part of Prague and Moravian diocese. In the next part is characterised the influence of Czech princess Dobroslava on the decision of Polish prince Mieszko I to accept baptism. With this event started the process of creating of church...

“No one knows who refugees really are” Discourses around the ‘refugee crisis’ in Poland : Analysis of selected mainstream media articles published from 2014 to 2017

Jonas-Kowalik, Matylda January 2020 (has links)
The so-called refugee crisis was among the most significant events affecting European political and social structures during the previous decade. Previous research proves that the questions regarding refugee reception had instigated a rise of ethno-nationalistic and exclusionary sentiments across Europe. The Polish context has been a clear example. This study aims to analyze the ways in which Polish media produced and reproduced the discourse pertaining to the refugee crisis and subsequently the perceived representation of refugees. Based on the review of literature and theories of discourse, mediatization, politicization and Othering, selected mainstream media articles from 2014 to 2017 were analyzed. The findings illustrate that an exclusionary discourse and Islamophobic notions were prevalent during this period. Moreover, the results indicate that a discursive shift regarding the representation of refugees has occurred, significantly altering the manner in which Polish society perceives both refugees and the refugee crisis more generally.

Definovatelne grafy / Definable graphs

Grebík, Jan January 2020 (has links)
In this thesis we consider various questions and problems about graphs that appear in the framework of descriptive set theory. The main object of study are graphons, graphings and variations of the graph G0. We establish an approach to the compactness of the graphon space via the weak* topology and introduce the notion of a fractional isomorphism for graphons. We use a variant of the G0-dichotomy in the context of the classification problem. Finally, we show a measurable version of the Vizing's theorem for graphings. 1

Polen vs EU : En kvalitativ innehållsanalys om EU-rättens företräde eller den nationella konstitutionens suveränitet

Eliasson, Mikael January 2021 (has links)
The essay examines how Polish representatives defend constitutional sovereignty over EU-law by analyzing, and comparing, the argumentation from the Polish prime minister Matteuz Morawiecki and the Polish constitutional court. The primary source material is Morawiecki’s letter to heads of governments as well as his statement in the European Parliament. After close qualitative content analysis the argumentation has been categorized and concrete analysis questions have been formulated from the theoretic framework’s three main headlines: democratic backsliding and illiberalism; the rule of law and the constitutions precedence and eurosceptic populism. The tribunal argues mainly from a legal standpoint while Morawiecki’s argumentation is based on EU-skepticism influenced by populism. The main result of the essay is that Morawiecki and the tribunal’s argumentation to defend Polish constitutional sovereignty is categorized as “soft” euroscepticism. Morawiecki furthermore argues that Poland is a strong supporter of the EU, while the tribunal does not take a definitive stance. Both argue that Poland is a liberal democracy that lives up to the Copenhagen criterias while questioning to what extent the EU does so in practice.

Zánik polsko-litevského státu 1791-1795 / The Decline of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth 1791-1795

Liška, Jan January 2018 (has links)
This thesis aims to analyze the events that led in the years 1791-1795 to the gradual decline of the Polish-Lithuanian state. The year 1791 was chosen as a starting point for the reason that it was during this year that the so-called Great Sejm adopted the Constitution of 3 May, considered a last attempt to reform the dysfunctional constitutional system that paralysed the political life of the Commonwealth, crippled its ability to defend itself and made it a marionette in the hands of powerful neighbours, especially Prussia and Russia. The thesis concentrates on the ambiguous role played in this period by the last king Stanisław II August. It also focuses on the opposition against the constitutional changes, associated in the so-called Targowica Confederation, the ensuing Russo-Polish War of 1792, the Second Partition of Poland, Kościuszko Uprising and the final Third Partition of 1795 - all these events are discussed in the wider context of European politics. The author makes use of sources and secondary literature in Polish, Russian, German, English and French.
