Parte-se do pressuposto que a saúde tem uma dependência territorial que, uma vez entendida, pode se tornar uma importante ferramenta para o planejamento em saúde pública. Ao delinear o perfil territorial da saúde de uma área pode-se antecipar ações de controle de longo prazo e diminuir os impactos das ações corretivas de curto prazo. A pesquisa que aqui se apresenta constitui um esforço teórico-prático que busca inserir o objeto da ciência geográfica nas análises em saúde pública. Para isso se fez uso de um instrumento teórico, a categoria território defendida na obra de Milton Santos e um objeto para sua aplicação, o bairro São Geraldo, localizado em Pouso Alegre-MG. A complexidade inerente à dinâmica urbana produz territórios de usos diferenciados que têm relação direta ou indireta com a produção de doenças. É o caso do bairro São Geraldo, uma área de exclusão social propícia à produção de algumas enfermidades. Notadamente as doenças infecciosas, devido as suas características, são muito comuns nesse território. Nesta pesquisa, foram investigadas a diarréia aguda, hepatite A, dengue e leptospirose. A escala temporal para a coleta dos dados compreendeu o período de 2002 a 2006 (com exceção da diarréia aguda, cujos dados são de 2006). Ao realizar o diagnóstico territorial da área de estudo, foi possível estabelecer a sua relação com a produção dessas enfermidades. O perfil territorial do bairro São Geraldo pode ser tomado como um fator causador da doença e, ao mesmo tempo, o cenário para a implementação de práticas de atenção primária em saúde / Abstract: The investigation of the relationship between the urban territory and the process health-disease constitutes the base of the concerns that motivated the present work. We must begin of the presupposition that the health has a territorial dependence and, once understood, it can become an important tool for the planning in public health. When delineating the territorial profile of the health of an area it can be early actions of control of long period and to reduce the impacts of the corrective actions of short period. The research, presented here, constitutes a theoretical-practical effort that looks for to insert the object of the geographical science in the analyses in public health. For that, it was made the use of a theoretical instrument, the category territory defended in Milton Santos work and an object for its application, the neighborhood São Geraldo, located in Pouso Alegre-MG. The inherent complexity to the urban dynamics produces territories of uses differentiated that have relationship direct or indirect with the production of diseases. This is of case neighborhood São Geraldo, an area of social exclusion, favorable to the production of some illnesses. Especially the diseases infectious, due their characteristics, are very common in that territory. In this research, the sharp diarrhea, hepatitis A, dengue and lepstospirosis were investigated. The temporary scale for the collection of the data understood the period from 2002 to 2006 (except for the sharp diarrhea, whose data are of 2006). When accomplishing the territorial diagnosis of the study area, it was possible to establish its relationship with the production of those illnesses. Os caminhos metodológicos foram construídos a partir das orientações dadas por Maria Cecília Minayo, para as pesquisas qualitativas em saúde, e a categoria território usado em Milton Santos foi tomada como fundamento para a construção da base teórico-conceitual. A pesquisa comunica teoria e prática. Por isso, o território urbano de Pouso Alegre-MG foi definido como local de estudo e aplicação. A reflexão sobre a territorialização da saúde levou a concluir que se trata de uma concepção política e pragmática do território, com dimensão padronizada e elementos burocráticos que fragmentam o sistema de atenção. Como técnica, a territorialização "cria" territórios políticos para a saúde e como inscrição espacial impõe os limites de abrangência para os serviços. O seu ponto de partida são os serviços e o número de habitantes. A perspectiva dos perfis territoriais apontou um caminho diferente. O ponto de partida, nesse caso, deve ser o reconhecimento dos usos do território, através dos quais são identificados os seus perfis. Dessa forma, os serviços de atenção primária devem se adaptar a esses perfis territoriais. Como técnica, essa perspectiva reconhece os usos do território e como inscrição espacial se adapta a esses territórios reconhecidos pelos seus usos / Abstract: This work was developed based on two closely connected aims: discuss the territorialization as technique and management policy of the services of primary attention to health in the SUS (Unique Health System) and present a perspective of adequacy of such services for the urban territory profiles. The methodology was researched having the support of Maria Cecília Minayo, for the qualitative research in health, and the territory category used in Milton Santos was taken as foundation for the construction of the conceptual-theoretical support. This research deals with theory and practice, this is why, the urban territory of Pouso Alegre-MG was defined as the venue of studies and application. The reflection upon the territorialization of health lead to the conclusion that there is a political and pragmatic conception of the territory with patterned dimension and procedural elements which divide the system of attention. As technique, the territorialization "generates" political territories for health and as spatial registration enforce the limits of ranges for the services. Therefore, the starting point is the services and inhabitants figure. The perspective of territory profiles have shown a different way. The starting point must be the acknowledgement of the uses of the territory and from them the profiles are identified. This is why the services of primary attention should be adapted to these territory profiles. The many histories and memories recounted in interviews with users, passers-by, and the city s public sector representatives, interwoven with other documents both written as the press, the act of Municipal Chamber and written-memory reveal the varied meanings the plaza, has had for the city and your s everyday life. Fundamental to this study are the effects of this intervention on the way of to see and living with the plaza as a space. I searched therefore establish a continuous dialogue with different kinds of legal, whose objective of making up a multi-faced history of that territory, able to desconstruct the several images that were attached to the Plaza, with its own rules and values. A culture of health and infancy it marked the Plaza João Pinheiro and its outskirts. The weight of hygienist ideas the repression of feminine sexuality and the ideological manipulations show that such institutions as the Infantile Parks and the Dispensaries they are more of the one than leisure and learning places, they are local of disciplines and reclusion. Replete of social disputes and alliances, the research, divided in three parts, besides disclosing and feelings, some of which cannot be seen in the daily life of the city nowadays. The first part searched deals with the process of occupation and building of Plaza João Pinheiro, which was done in the beginnings of the XX century. Another one of the moments was the proposal and installation of the Infantile Park Major Dornelles , in the first half of the 1940 s. For the last on it was I looked for to examine the process of establishing the bus station and the town hall headquarter in the final years 1960 s / Na dissertação intitulada A Praça João Pinheiro: Cidade, memórias e viver urbano. Pouso Alegre, 1941-1969 , é tecida uma reflexão sobre as intervenções urbanísticas de grande impacto, na Praça João Pinheiro, que tornaram-se o mote para o desenvolvimento desta pesquisa. As muitas histórias e memórias levantadas nos depoimentos de usuários, freqüentadores e representantes do poder público municipal, associados a outros documentos escritos como a imprensa, as Atas da Câmara Municipal e as memórias escritas, revelaram significados múltiplos que essa Praça teve para a cidade e sua vida cotidiana. Os efeitos das intervenções no modo de ver e vivenciar o espaço são fundamentais neste trabalho. Busquei estabelecer um diálogo constante com diferentes tipos de fontes, cujo objetivo maior foi construir uma história multifacetada daquele território, capaz de desmistificar as imagens que pesavam sobre a Praça, dona de valores e regras próprias. Uma cultura da saúde e da infância marcou a Praça João Pinheiro e seus arredores. O peso das idéias higienistas, a repressão da sexualidade feminina e as manipulações ideológicas mostram que instituições como os Parques Infantis e os Dispensários são mais do que lugares de lazer e aprendizado, são locais de disciplina e reclusão. Repleta de disputas e alianças sociais, a pesquisa, dividida em três partes, revelou gostos e sensibilidades que, por vezes, não são mais visíveis no cotidiano da cidade atual. A primeira parte pesquisada refere-se ao processo de ocupação e criação da Praça João Pinheiro, que se deu no inicio do século XX. O outro momento foi o da criação e instalação do Parque Infantil Major Dornelles , na primeira metade da década de 1940. Also reflect the position held by the Church for the arrival of new costumes influenced mainly by the arrival of cinema sound and a greater presence in the region of other religions. In this perspective, analyze the church's emphasis on control and educational intervention on female youth and children, serving as an instrument of defense of their institution. The local press, but also books of memories of the city are the main sources used in the discussion of the topic. The work is divided into three parts: the first, discuss the Catholic Church before the changes of the spaces of the city, the second part, discusses the issue of Catholic moral and female youth, given the transformations in urban life and ultimately, the church and infant universe in its educational and discussion on the social problem of children in Pouso Alegre / Esta dissertação denominada: A Igreja Católica e a transformação do espaço e do viver urbano de Pouso Alegre -MG (1936- 45) procura discutir a posição e a articulação adotada pela diocese de Pouso Alegre, referente às transformações do espaço da cidade, que passava por incisivas intervenções urbanísticas. Reflito também a postura exercida pela Igreja em relação à chegada de novos costumes influenciados principalmente com a chegada do cinema sonoro e por uma maior presença na região de outras religiões. Nesta perspectiva, analiso a ênfase da Igreja no controle e na intervenção educacional sobre a juventude feminina e a criança, servindo como um instrumento de defesa de sua instituição. A imprensa local, como também livros de memórias da cidade são as principais fontes utilizadas na discussão do tema. O trabalho está dividido em três partes: na primeira, discuto a Igreja Católica frente às modificações dos espaços da cidade, na segunda parte, trato sobre a questão da moral católica e a juventude feminina, diante das transformações no viver urbano e por último, analiso a Igreja e o universo infantil em sua formação educacional e na discussão sobre o problema social da infância em Pouso Alegre

In this research we seek to understand the daily life of various social subjects through the Organization of local urban core and consequently, the social conflicts experienced in the Central streets of the city. As well as understand the ways of life permeated by new urban templates deployed by local governments and the different uses of public spaces for social actors reflecting the ressignificações of the city that have changed through time. From the interpretation of historical sources (newspapers, ads, official documents, photography and works memorialistas) seek to think in existence of a social field where the hegemonic and alternative memories are produced by everyday life. So we understand that memories are social, because they carry the groups organize particularities and share in different ways / A pesquisa intitulada O cotidiano nas ruas centrais de Pouso Alegre/MG (1880 – 1920) tem como objetivo refletir sobre a dinâmica da cidade mergulhando na rede de sinais sociais com o intuito de compreender as trajetórias dos sujeitos na vida cotidiana em Pouso Alegre/MG possibilitando uma nova abordagem historiográfica. Nesta pesquisa buscamos compreender o cotidiano dos diversos sujeitos sociais mediante a organização do núcleo urbano local e consequentemente, os conflitos sociais vivenciados nas ruas centrais da cidade. Buscamos entender os modos de vida permeados pelos novos moldes urbanísticos implantados pelas administrações municipais e os diferentes usos dos espaços públicos pelos atores sociais refletindo as ressignificações da cidade que foram alteradas pelo tempo. A partir da interpretação das fontes históricas (jornais, anúncios, documentos oficiais, fotografia e obras memorialistas) buscamos pensar na existência de um campo social onde as memórias hegemônicas e alternativas são produzidas pela vida cotidiana. Values such as modernity , development and progress were under construction by the local press, where both, the morality defenders and people opposed to the Prostitution Zone, had considered it an obstacle to urban growth, thus raising a moral campaign which demanded the prostitution s end at the city center. Such results reflected the need of another Prostitution Zone, far away from downtown and with the purpose of the prostitution confinement, which came afterwards to be a residential area s neighbor in the 1980 s. This way new social relationships among the ones who tried to stabilize their identities with each other, were started. The dissertation The city and the necessary evil : Prostitution Zoning and social marginality in Pouso Alegre city, Minas Gerais state (1969-1988)aims to reflect on the Prostitution Zone construction as an urban territory to explore the tense relationships established between the city spaces and the Zone along the years. It had resulted and rightfully became a process of social exclusion and the prejudice resource was reinforced by a symbolic borderline among their social relationship as a way of differing themselves. The narrative of the research was built up with the contribution of Oral History, which allowed the capture of experiences from those who lived the process of social exclusion and marginality construction of the Zone. Therefore establishing a continuous dialogue with different kinds of legal, official-documented, cartography, written-memory sources and the local press with the purpose of making up a multi-faced history, able to deconstruct the several images that were attached to the Prostitution Zone as well as presenting another view of that marginal territory, culturally constructed with its own rules and values, for the first time presented by the Pouso-Alegrense historiography. / Entre 1969 e 1988, a cidade sul-mineira de Pouso Alegre-MG industrializava-se. Valores como modernidade , desenvolvimento e progresso eram construídos pela imprensa local que, juntamente com os moralistas e opositores à Zona de Prostituição, passou a considerá-la um entrave ao crescimento urbano, travando uma campanha de moralização pelo fim da prostituição na região central, cujos resultados refletiram a necessidade de construção de um espaço, afastado do centro, destinado a confinar a prostituição, e que se tornou vizinho nos anos 1980 de um Conjunto Habitacional, iniciando assim novas relações de sociabilidade entre os sujeitos que buscavam afirmar suas identidades. A dissertação A cidade e o mal necessário : Zona de Prostituição e marginalidade social em Pouso Alegre-MG (1969-1988) busca refletir sobre a construção da Zona de Prostituição enquanto território urbano e explorar as tensões que permearam as relações estabelecidas entre cidade e a Zona no decorrer dos anos, resultando e legitimando um processo de exclusão e o recurso aos preconceitos no reforço de fronteiras simbólicas construídas nas relações entre os sujeitos sociais como critérios de diferenciação entre eles. A narrativa da pesquisa foi construída com o recurso às fontes orais, que permitiram apreender experiências dos diferentes sujeitos sociais que viveram esse processo de exclusão e construção da marginalidade da Zona, estabelecendo um diálogo constante com diferentes tipos de fontes, como a imprensa local do período, fontes legislativas, cartográficas, oficiais e memórias escritas, no sentido de construir uma história multifacetada capaz de desmistificar as múltiplas imagens pesavam sobre a Zona de Prostituição e apresentar um outro lado daquele território marginal, culturalmente construído, dono de valores e regras próprias abordado pela primeira vez historiografia pouso-alegrense.
