Autor pouze pro germanisty? K recepci Thomase Bernharda v České republice po roce 1989 / An author just for Germanists? To the reception of Thomas Bernhard in Czechia after 1989

Hrdá, Anežka January 2020 (has links)
The diploma thesis is concerned with reception of the Austrian novelist and playwright Thomas Bernhard in the Czech Republic after 1989. The piece of work mainly focuses on how the writer was presented to the Czech society. The thesis also responds to the statement of the Czech Germanist Milan Tvrdík who said, in 1995, that Thomas Bernhard still awaits discovery of his writings in the Czech Republic and, so far, is an author mostly for Germanists. Theoretical framework of the work is based on the reception theory of Constance school. The research is mainly focused on the Czech translations of the Bernhard's books which contain epilogues and editorial notes, then on the reviews of the Bernhard's plays introduced in the Czech theatres between 1989 and 2019. Considering the fact that some adaptations of Bernhard's plays in our country offered an interesting link between Czech and Slovakian acting scene, an insight of the Bernhard's reception in Slovakia is a part of the work. The analysis takes into consideration external factors, too. These factors are translators, editors, or individual publishing houses Prostor, Mladá Fronta, Divadelní ústav or Odeon, which have influenced the reception of Bernhard's work in the Czech Republic. The qualitative analysis infers a picture of the Austrian playwright...

Data Management and Publishing Behaviour in Academic Archaeology : A Study at the Department of Archaeology and Ancient History at Uppsala University / Datahanterings- och publiceringsbeteenden inom Arkeologisk forskning : En studie från institutionen för Arkeologi och Antik Historia på Uppsala universitet

Burén, Frida January 2022 (has links)
This study looks into researchers’ data management and publishing behaviours within archaeology by interviewing researchers in the field and data management and publishing specialists. It takes a socio-cultural perspective, and the aim is to gain an understanding of the elements influencing the decision to publish research data within the field and what the current publishing needs there are for researchers in archaeology. Each informant has an academic background in archaeology and a prominent connection to Uppsala University in Sweden. Special focus is placed on the Digital Scientific Archive (DiVA). Each researcher interviewed for this study was found through publications of primary datasets at DiVA and perceptions of publishing options is considered an element shaping the intentions to publish and the behavioural outcome.Documentation practices and perceptions of data management professionalism has tremendous effect on the outcomes of archaeology and publishing practices, which is closely linked with determining data quality, and are becoming more of a requirement within the field. This study is interested in how archaeological data management and publishing behaviour influence the professional interpretations of human history. The Theory of Planned Behaviour is applied to the study for the purpose of thoroughly examine researchers’ data publishing behaviours. The theory assumes that behavioural intention which is shaped by the beliefs about a certain behaviour, is the strongest factor determining actual behaviour. This assumption is evaluated against the accounts of the study’s informants by means of investigating researchers’ perspectives on data publishing in relation to their actual behaviours around, and experiences of, the publishing process.  This is a two years' masters thesis in Library and information science.

A Poetic Ethnodrama: Discussing the Impact of the Pressure to Publish on Creative Writers' Production

Lewis, Abby N. 01 May 2020 (has links)
This study examines the presence of the pressure to publish while in college as an undergraduate or graduate student, and the impact that pressure has on students’ ability to produce creative work. After interviewing participants, the researcher created an ethnodrama to best represent participants’ emotions and unique experiences with publishing while in school. An examination of the literature reveals that master’s-level students are often overlooked in scholarly research on the subject of publishing. This study uses a qualitative research method to identify key emotional experiences from students at the master’s and undergraduate level in the hopes of providing a platform for these marginalized voices.

The letters of Casa Ricordi

Rebulla, Patrizia, Ledda, Pierluigi, Müller, Helen 03 December 2019 (has links)
The Archivio Storico Ricordi holds the historical records of one of the most important music publisher of all times. For almost two hundred years, beyond their main business as music publishers, the Ricordis were also impresarios, agents, and cultural organisers, and played a central and unique mediating role within Italian musical life. This role is very well documented by some 30,000 autograph letters addressed to Casa Ricordi by composers, writers, librettists, singers, and conductors, and an impressive and neatly ordered collection of around 600,000 sent letters. The whole collection will be published online bit by bit. The goal of the project is to connect the letters not only with the relevant records of the Ricordi archive (ledgers, contracts, stage designs, scores, pictures...), but also with other music archives over the web.

Tištěné nezávislé magazíny v post-digitální době / Printed Independent Magazines in Post-Digital Age

Teplý, Ondřej January 2021 (has links)
The diploma thesis Printed Independent Magazines in Post-Digital Age tries to discover the motivation of editors-in-chief/art directors for creating a printed, independent magazine in Central Europe and at the same time how these magazines are influenced by post-digital trends. It uses a qualitative method of Grounded Theory based on data from semi-structured interviews. In the practical part of the research, nine authors from Austria, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary were approached. From the total number of respondents, data was obtained from seven of them. In the theoretical part, the work is focused on the history of independent print, in terms of technological changes in the printing field and it defines the term "printed independent magazine". The main contribution of the work is a mapping of the Central European independent magazine scene, which has not been thoroughly examined in any academic work yet. The text puts this scene in the international context, and it points out the certain specifics which are associated with Central Europe.

Meyer Hagberg, Sebastian January 2021 (has links)
This master dissertation is an attempt to find the best way for a young and aspiring music producer or songwriter to start a career within the pop music industry. The aim of the project is to gain knowledge from the process of pitching music to publishers, record labels and artists and to improve that process with the knowledge gained. As an additional method I also invited professionals from the music industry (A&R, artist and producers/writers) to share their views on the topic. The work resulted in several songs and song sketches, but it is important to point out that the audio is not part of the analysis and rather a biproduct of the project. The focus of this dissertation lies on the process of pitching music, building a network and the learning effect only.

The Impact of BookTube on Book Publishing: A Study of John Green's Looking for Alaska

Mitchell, Amanda 01 May 2021 (has links)
Around 2010, a group of online content creators, commonly referred to as "Youtubers" or "BookTubers," began to emerge on YouTube.com. This community's content revolves around many topics under the realm of literature including book discussions, reviews, genre discussions, and many more. While the group started off small, it has grown significantly over the past decade; some of the most prominent creators have several hundred thousand subscribers. In the ten years since its emergence, the creators and content have transformed, where many in the beginning made video discussions just for fun, and now many of them have grown their channel into a financially successful career and have formed partnerships with publishing companies. Specifically within the BookTube community, young adult author John Green has revolutionized the platform and seen unprecedented amount of success. His novels along with their film and TV adaptations have inspired thousands of Booktube reviews and discussions, and John and his brother Hank Green have gained a massive following on YouTube. This essay examines BookTube as a collaborative community, a marketing platform, and a space for reception theory analysis by examining readers' discussions of John Green's Looking for Alaska. BookTube and other online communities are becoming increasingly important in people's lives, and analyzing these platforms is essential to understanding future generations.

Böhme, Uwe, Bitto, Florian 17 January 2022 (has links)
The title compound, C8H16N2Si, crystallizes in the the orthorhombic space group P212121 with one molecule in the asymmetric unit. The Si—N bond is 1.782 (2) Å, which is substantially longer than is found in comparable (3,5-dimethylpyrazolyl)silanes. The trimethylsilyl group adopts a staggered conformation with respect to the planar 3,5-dimethylpyrazolyl unit. C—H⋯N hydrogen bonds between neighboring molecules form a strand of molecules along the b-axis direction.
