ABSTRACT This study investigated, discussed and analyzed the students' reading practices in deficiency’s situations income in an higher education at the Sergipe Federal University (SFU). In a view of the time before and after the quota for people in deficiency situation, a comparison of these practices will be made in different periods; This study aimed to understand and analyze the testimonies of the people participating per hour, also researchers. What justifies this research is the involvement of people who identify with the discourse of the other, even in their differences, understanding that other may prove to be myself and then there is to think of a more efficient inclusion for people in deficiency’s situation in higher education. The first part of this dissertation deals with the trajectory of the inclusive education, nowadays, the relevance of the issue and the implications of the researchers, in this research are intertwined. The following important theoretical framework in which this study is based are exposed so directed to the inclusion topic. The last part of this paper reports the results of research on the topic, concerning the field research conducted with the participation of students of the SFU, teachers / researchers, friends and family. In closing remarks, the problem of practical readings in favor of inclusion is taken, pointing out possible solutions to the identified problems from the critical views arising from analyzes made by the technique of the triangulation. The results showed that it is urgent a change of educational paradigms regarding the academic life of people in deficiency situation, not only newly inserted by quotas on SFU, but also for people in deficiency situation that aren’t met by quotas, but they have a special educational need.

As pr?ticas exitosas de leitura no ensino fundamental: vozes sociais de professores e de estudantes

Monteiro, Ivone Rodrigues Diniz 19 December 2013 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2014-12-17T15:07:19Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 IvoneRDM_TESE.pdf: 2533114 bytes, checksum: 7b64bf352a266cac4b9fe1078a7b3383 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2013-12-19 / The school is the social place which should provide the formation of critical readers. In this context, the role of the teacher is crucial when it comes to teaching reading. Thus, this doctoral research aims to explicit the reading practices evidenced from social voices of teachers and Fundamental School students from state public schools at RN that have successful results, according to IDEB 2009. Moreover, we seek to explicit, through the positions of teachers, the conceptions of reading underlying their reading activities, as well as elucidate the social voices related to teaching of reading that are present in the National Curriculum Guide for 9 years Fundamental School and in the Political-Pedagogical Projects of the educational institutions investigated. In order to accomplish this goal, we carried out observations in the classroom, applied questionnaires with teachers and students in the 9th grade of Fundamental School, in classes of Portuguese Language, and also performed dialogical meetings with the management and pedagogics schools teams. The theoretical foundation that guides the research comes from bakhtinian thinking (2009, 2010), which addresses the dialogical perspective of language and active responsive comprehension. Furthermore, this work is anchored in theoretical reflections of Antunes (2005, 2009) and Geraldi (2003, 2006, 2010) about the reading and writing in the country, which contribute to the resizing of the teaching and learning process of Portuguese Language. This study belongs to the field of Applied Linguistics, which investigates language as social practice in the context of learning mother language or in contexts where relevant questions about the use of language are evidenced. The parameters of qualitative research in a social-historic perspective are adopted seeking to understand the school context by the subjects involved in research. The research corpus is composed of: (i) information constructed through the use of questionnaires with teachers and students; (ii) information constructed from the observed lesson and dialogue with management and pedagogical teams; (iii) a set of selected information, i.e., empiricism built through documentary analysis of the National Curriculum Guide for 9 years Fundamental School (CONSELHO NACIONAL DE EDUCA??O, 2010) and the Political- Pedagogical Projects of the investigated schools. The analysis of the sayings of teachers and students suggest reading practices from various texts, in particular, from the literary sphere, in activities involving discussions, reading and reading comprehension exercises, interviews, songs, seminars organizations, concerts, dramatizations, literary weeks, among other practices. Furthermore, these analyses reveal that teach Portuguese Language requires commitment, responsibility and satisfaction, as well as more grounded theoretical principles, which make teaching practice more efficient. The research also reveals that the success of the teaching-learning process occurs by virtue of the involvement of school s segments in the educational process, creating therefore a network of responsibilities. In this sense, this research may contribute to the production of knowledge that can guide and enrich the teaching and learning of reading, envisioning a pedagogical practice constructed from the relationship with the other, i.e., from the dialogism which provides formation of young people that exercise their citizenship / A escola ? o lugar social o qual deve propiciar a forma??o de leitores cr?ticos.

Marta Rocha de Oliveira 18 March 2016 (has links)
Quais as fases pelas quais ele passou? / It was with this study, documenting the material culture and school practices produced around fitting the editions of Literary Arts Festival (FAL), Palmeiras, BA, 2007-2013. In the survey, were produced 5 interviews with teachers and 4 with students, the collection and organization of educational and artistic materials prepared for the Festival. This study have the objectives the identification of sources for the history of school practices and consequently to value of educational heritage. It holp also it is investigating the origin of the Festival through the school culture (such as constant reinvention) and the chronic problem of the devaluation of the memory. Thus, in this study discusses the relevance of the creation of archives and the preservation of memory of school culture, from some issues that mobilized: what is the Festival, how did it originate? What are the stages through which he passed? What they think the actors involved in it? Which school materials were produced? What relationships were established between teachers and students and between the school and community? The theoretical framework is based on studies on memory, school culture and historical heritage-educational. The study allowed to understand that the FAL, apart from being a project to encourage literary reading and arts, it takes on other roles because they are privileged moments for the production of knowledge and construction of identities of teachers and students.

The theoretical basis based on the history of reading in society, accompanied by the development of the media until today, with social media. Based on McLuhan's thinking that "the medium is the message", Facebook is configured with one of the main communication and interaction platforms, enabling a new way of reading, in which the reader also produces content to others readers. What evidence do these readings make in academic everyday life? Do the reading practices developed by these students on Facebook provide the search for other readings? To answer these questions, the study based on a qualitative approach, seeking answers to the research problem. The study also based on an exploratory research, trying to understand what the practices of reading these students on Facebook are. As a way of collecting data, the study divided into three phases. The first phase consisted of sending e-mail questionnaires to the research universe, trying to understand the importance of social media in the day to day of each student. In this questionnaire, the respondents indicated their interest in participating in the second phase of the research, which consisted of the on-site visit of the researcher to the Urutaí Campus, carrying out a structured interview, in which the habits and reading practices of these students on Facebook verified. With this data, we started with the third phase of the study that examined the profiles of the students studied, through reading trajectories, thus seeking the students' reading evidence in social media. The research aims to serve as an instrument in the teaching-learning process of the educational institution, combining social media with the academic context. It concluded that social media influences students' readings, but there is still a timid movement within the Urutaí Campus. Teachers and other employees of the institution must participate effectively in these environments, combining social media with the academic context, thus providing new teaching-learning perspectives. Quais evidências essas leituras fazem no cotidiano acadêmico?

Gharbi, Zeïneb 01 1900 (has links)
Electronic reading is taking an increasing place in the total reading space of students. Although the first e-reading systems, commonly called electronic books or ebooks, have been existing for several years, opinions about their potential still diverge. A great variety of electronic scholarly content is now offered to students, and this involves a multiplication of uses as well as a variety of reading modes. E-reading systems are now an integral part of the electronic environment to which students have access and need to be studied in greater depth. Many experiments have been conducted in public libraries and academic libraries on electronic books. Research was undertaken on their usability and the degree of readers’ satisfaction in order to improve their design. However, few studies have tackled the reading practices of scholars (in particular students) and their perceptions of these new reading systems. Our research focuses on these aspects by studying two different e-reading systems, the Tablet PC (portable device) and a Web-books system, NetLibrary (reading interface integrated into a Web navigator). Our research investigates the reading practices of students on electronic books. It is guided by three research questions : (1) students’ reading strategies (before, during and after reading), (2) elements of the e-reading system which influence (positively or negatively) the reading process, and (3) students’ perceptions of the electronic book technology and its potential contribution to their scholarly work. For this research, a mixed-method approach was chosen, using three modes of data collection : a questionnaire, semi-structured interviews with students having used one e-reading system, and the capture of reading traces (annotations, highlights, etc.) left by students in the systems, after use. Respondents in our study (n=46) were students at the Université de Montréal, from three departments (Library & information sciences, Communications and Linguistics & translation). About half of them (n=21) were interviewed. Furthermore, reading traces left by students in the e-reading systems were analysed. Data from interviews and answers to open questions of the questionnaire were subjected to content analysis, while data from the closed questions of the questionnaire were summarized statistically. Our results show that, generally, the reading goal, the type and structure of the text, student’s reading practices and functionalities of the e-reading system are the elements which determine and orient the choice and use of reading strategies. Helps and barriers for the reading process were identified for each of the two e-reading systems under study. Help mostly consists in elements of the paper book metaphor in the electronic reading environment (delimited page, pagination, etc.), the integrated dictionary, and the fact that ereading systems facilitate text skimming. As for the barriers, reading instrumentation seems to affect text appropriation by the reader. Moreover, the electronic reading (eg. « on screen ») involved lack of concentration and visual tiredness, particularly with NetLibrary. Both the Tablet PC and NetLibrary were considered easy to use, although not always comfortable, discomfort with NetLibrary being more manifest. Students believe that the two e-reading systems are practical tools for their academic work, although for various reasons, specific to each reading system. Overall evaluation of the e-reading experience by respondents was judged positive for the Tablet PC, and somewhat mitigated for NetLibrary. This research contributes to the knowledge on : (1) electronic reading, in particular that of student readers, and (2) the impact of a reading system on reading effectiveness, on readers, on the achievement of a reading goal, and on reading strategies used. In addition to the limits of this study, suggestions for future research are presented.

Text in Afrikaans / In this thesis the term post-colonialism in the Afrikaans drama is investigated, focussing on the post-sixties. The term post-colonialism is difficult to define. Not only are theories of post-colonialism in a state of continuous flux and shifting emphasis, but as a result of different colonial dominations, separate identities have been constructed in South-Africa; so that defining the terms colonial, post colonial and post-colonial proves to be even more problematic. The purpose of this study is to determine to what extent the Afrikaans drama fits into these discourses. The basic point of departure is the fact that post-colonialism played a considerable role in the development of the Afrikaans drama, at the same time providing a more varied scope. The research covers several aspects of post-colonialism in Afrikaans drama; each dealt with in a separate chapter. A multitude of perspectives are featured within the broader discourse in order to obtain multiple norms and standards in a phase of self-criticism. The focus falls mainly on themes and not on performance aspects. New perspectives on issues such as canon texts, silence, hero-worship, the portrayal of woman, patriarchy, and neo-colonialism are presented (chapter 1). In chapter 2 focus falls on the period before 1960, and notably the question of nationalism (associated with apartheid) and the portrayal of the Afrikaner. The literary canon, forms of violence and the position of the super-Afrikaner are viewed in a new light during the re-writing of post-colonial history and the resulting paradigm shifts after 1960. Renewed emphasis is placed on discourse concerning land (chapter 3). Contrasting concepts regarding race, class, language, gender and religion are reconsidered in order to contribute towards the heterogeneous nature of post-colonialism (chapter 4). The function of theatre is to re-evaluate in the context of a post-1994 democratic system. Texts now focus especially on empowerment, re-discovery and re-ordering of history, reconciliation, inter-cultural contact and a post-apartheid syndrome (chapter 5). Anti-hegemonic resistance in Afrikaans literature since the sixties has confronted writers with the challenge of depicting or creating a larger post-colonial reality through their texts.

Larue, Stéphane 12 1900 (has links)
The subject of this memoir addresses the questions of the written word in a digital context. The digital allows a series of cultural, writing and reading practices that redefines a number of roles that the printed media had assigned during its five hundred years reign. This memoir proposes to define these practices and explores where they find themselves in rupture or in continuation with those that prevailed with the printed media. It will be discussed how these practices and the technology that permits them opens new spaces for writing and how these spaces differs from those that existed in printed culture. This memoir also tries to identify the new types of writers that emerge in these particular spaces. It shows under which conditions they write and how the digital media affects the word itself.
