Palmqvist, Ulla January 2009 (has links)

This essay investigates the work situation for teacher educators at a university with focus on the subject areas education, research and administration. The research questions contain the work situation the teacher educators have, how they apprehend it, and how they find their position within the work organisation. Six interviews have been executed at the teacher education at a university. Some of the results from the investigation indicate that the teacher educators find education to be very a very demanding work and that the split of work during the academic year is uneven. The work with administration before and after the education, for example work with syllabuses and descriptions for courses, are activities demanding much time. In the work situation the teacher educators find themselves to be in a hard situation of work with few possibilities to get help from other teacher educators. A possible solution could be to work more in teams. Team learning in a learning organisation could reduce the time pressure in the teacher education, and possibly be a source of inspiration for the students in their future profession.

Inghe, Mattias January 2008 (has links)

The interpretation of Universally Quantified DPs and singular definites in adverbially quantified sentences

Hinterwimmer, Stefan January 2007 (has links)
This paper deals with the conditions under which singular definites, on the one hand, and universally quantified DPs, on the other hand, receive interpretations according to which the sets denoted by the NP-complements of the respective determiner vary with the situations quantified over by a Q-adverb. I show that in both cases such interpretations depend on the availability of situation predicates that are compatible with the presuppositions associated with the respective determiner, as co-variation in both cases comes about via the binding of a covert situation variable that is contained within the NP-complement of the respective determiner. Secondly, I offer an account for the observation that the availability of a co-varying interpretation is more constrained in the case of universally quantified DPs than in the case of singular definites, as far as word order is concerned. This is shown to follow from the fact that co-varying definites in contrast to universally quantified DPs are inherently focus-marked.

US foreign policy toward Southern Africa - 1975 to 1990: the case of the Namibian Independence struggle.

Diamonds, Herman Pule. January 2007 (has links)

This study, in contrast to contemporary held views relating to the US policy premises, aimed to look at the inherent disabilities and inconsistencies of the policies of succesive Washington administrations. More so, it investigated the US interventionist strategies to perceived threats from communist regimes and their allies, especially in Southern Africa. To be able to embark on such an investigation, Namibia and the Soviet-Cuban involvement in Southern Africa were selected as a special focus of this study

The Impact of Use Situation on the Acceptance of Mobile Value-added Services

Ling, Yu-Ling 31 July 2007 (has links)
As the growth of the E-commerce and mobile technology, value-added services have attracted a substantial amount of attention in mobile applications. Many reports indicate that those mobile value-added services will be the next generation of Internet access and a potential profit maker in the future. However, the actual use of mobile value-added services is not as good as our expectation and the available services as well as user¡¦s intention to use them are not very high. The objective of this research is to explore how contextual factors and different types of value-added services may affect the user¡¦s intention to use. The theory underlying the study is the TPB model. An empirical study was conducted to examine the factors that affect the intention of adopting mobile services. The results show that (1) For all kind of services, a better task-technology fit resulted in a more positive attitude towards using the value-added services; (2). For all kind of services, user attitude on mobile value-added services was positively related to the user¡¦s willingness to use; (3) For communication, entertainment, and information services, perceive behavior control had a positive effect on user¡¦s willingness to use; (4) Social norms affected the willingness to use only when the nature of services is mobile entertainment or business transaction; (5) Contextual variables such as time pressure and location had mediate effects between attitudes and willingness to use.

Being cool : When boys and girls do masculinity

Hultman, Marcus January 2009 (has links)

Vänskap i förändring? – en studie huruvida en TV- serie förändras

Karlsson, Rickard, Källman, Pär January 2008 (has links)
Titel:Friends – Vänskap i förändring?

Kenyan teachers´perspectives on working with students from slum areas in Nairobi. : A qualitative study.

Petersson, Ulrika January 2013 (has links)
The aim with this study was to give awareness about the school situation for students living in the slum areas of Nairobi. The purpose was to raise the teachers’ perspectives about working with these students. Previous researches around the topic were studied to gain a better knowledge for the subject. The focus was put on Maslow’s hierarchy of basic needs, trauma with its effects and possible treatments in school and the home environment effects on the student´s learning. Since this was a qualitative study, the method used was open aimed interviews. Eleven teachers working in the slum areas in Nairobi were interviewed with these two main questions in mind; What do teachers think is important when working with students who come from the slum areas of Nairobi and how do teachers work with these students? All schools were located in or close to a children home in order for the teachers to have a wide range of experiences when working with students from the slum area. Some of the results that came up were that teachers saw it as important to provide students with their basic needs in school. The teachers also said that students had different reactions towards trauma and it was of great importance for students to be able to both channel their expressions after the trauma but also to forget the trauma for the moment to be able to concentrate in school. The teachers were disagreeing about whether to treat students equally or individually. Some of the teachers said that the student´s home environment affects their learning due to the quality and quantity of help that they can get with their homework. Some teachers felt adequate due to the extra work put on their shoulders in their work with the students from the slum areas.
