Ett gott samarbete resulterar i ett välmående samhälle. : En studie om hur olika samhällssektorer kan påverka landets fysiska hälsa.

Saadi, Bader January 2019 (has links)
Political Integration and Immigrants' Political Careers : A case study of first-generation Somali immigrant politicians in Malmö

Mbekeani, Thandikire January 2024 (has links)
This study explores the experiences of first-generation Somali immigrants working for Swedish political parties, shedding light on their challenges, opportunities, and contributions to the political sector. Through a qualitative case study approach, five semi-structured interviews were conducted. Tajfel and Turner's (1979) social identity theory and Crenshaw's (1989) intersectionality theory guided the study. The study revealed the significant barriers to entry that the participants face, including cultural and language barriers, prejudice and discrimination, and a lack of social and political networks. In addition, the study found that while the participants experienced exclusivity and resistance within the party, they also reported experiencing opportunities for political engagement, including support from fellow party members and advancement. Moreover, the findings suggest that political parties can play a crucial role in promoting immigrant political integration by providing opportunities for community engagement, training, and mentorship. However, the findings also highlight the need for more inclusive and culturally responsive policies and practices within political parties to better support the political participation and representation of immigrant politicians in political parties. This study adds to the literature by enhancing our understanding of the challenges of immigrant political integration.

Den institutionaliserade tävlingsidrotten : Kommuner, idrott och politik i Sverige under 1900-talet / Institutionalised Competitive Sport : Municipalities, Sport and Politics in Sweden during the Twentieth Century

Sjöblom, Paul January 2006 (has links)
The aim of this dissertation is to describe and analyse the development of the sports movement at a local level during the 20th century, focusing on the relationship between the municipality, in a broad sense, and the sports clubs, as well as on the conditions that have affected this relationship and the effects this has had for the clubs’ structural and cultural configuration. The thesis put forward is that there is a link between the parliamentary and governmental description of sport as socially beneficial, the relative autonomy of the sports movement, the institutionalisation of the municipalities’ sports policy and their involvement in the local sports culture and the expansion of competitive sport within the sports movement led by the Swedish Sports Confederation. The thesis is advanced in the context of a description of the Swedish sports model at the local level, its rise and eventual fall, and through case studies of three municipalities/local communities as well as a total of six sports clubs, all located in what is today Norrtälje municipality some ninety kilometres north of Stockholm. The thesis is generally confirmed. From the perspective of the central state, within the framework of a corporate governance model, it has involved compromising with a strong sports movement and simultaneously gaining legitimacy and support for its sports policy. This has not caused any major problems as the Swedish Sports Confederation, the sports movement’s unitary organisation, has in all important respects developed organised sport in a desirable way, or at least one that the government authorities have been willing to accept in view of services in return. It appears to be the same at a local level. The municipality has rewarded that section of organised sport which has made, in its opinion, the best contribution to producing a both physically and mentally civic educational as well as integrating leisure activity. On the whole this has been applicable to the performance- and result-oriented sport. This type of competitive sport, or rather, the clubs which have run it, have also been expected to be able to assist in managing the range of facilities, in raising the municipality’s PR value, in creating new services and job opportunities and in uniting the inhabitants.

Främjande av folkhälsan i Sverige : Riksdagspartiernas visioner och arbete

Backlund, Amanda January 2019 (has links)
Background: With an increasing life expectancy and a reduction of premature mortality, health is considered good among the Swedish population. Nevertheless, there is a need of addressed interventions against mental illness, inequality in health, eating habits and sedentary, for example. The Swedish government has published a wide-ranging national public health policy, but there is a gap in knowledge regarding the political parties concrete visions and work in the fields of public health. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate visions and work among Swedish political parties in various fields of public health. Method: The study was conducted with a qualitative study design and had an inductive approach. Data was collected by a questionnaire and seven out of eight parties answered. Collected material was analyzed with inspiration from Giorgis qualitative analysis. Results: The result displayed a wide spectrum of visions and efforts. The parties ideas and efforts were mostly containing the healthcare sector. They want to see clearer commitments, accessibility and focus on preventive interventions. Regarding school they intend to focus their efforts on student health and increase the rate of sports and sex education. In addition, they want a variety of community interventions to be performed. Conclusion: Besides their visions, the political parties want to tackle public health issues by practicing politics, support interventions, research and develop policies and amplify knowledge efforts.

Kvinnlig representation : Beskrivningar från Miljöpartiet, Moderaterna, Kristdemokraterna och Socialdemokraterna / Female representation : Descriptions from the Swedish Green party, The Moderate Party, the Christian Democrats and the Swedish Social Democratic party

Ardhamre, Johan January 2018 (has links)
In this qualitative text analysis paper the author examined how the Swedish Green party, the Moderate party, the Christian Democrats and the Swedish Social Democratic party described female representation during the years 2001-2013 at their party congresses. With party strategic categories constructed by Lena Wägnerud and one self-constructed category with the help of works by Ann Phillips a total of 5 categories was used to separate the different statements regarding female representation. The categories were attack, win voters, comparisons, bragging and other. The results of the study show that the focus of female representation has shifted from a focus on female political representation to female representation in the business world, mostly representation in the board rooms. The results also show that all parties express themselves about female representation but in different ways. The Swedish Social Democratic party is the only party that focuses mainly on female representation as a question of justice and democracy, statements that fall under the category other. The other parties in this paper all had their focus on strategic statements that fall under Lena Wägneruds categories.
