Camargo, Lilian Cristina Carvalho 25 February 2015 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-08-02T21:42:40Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Lilian Cristina.pdf: 1059441 bytes, checksum: a594dec839ce5298c86a3ae9b48dc804 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2015-02-25 / The turnover intention refers to the probability of individuals leaving their current job. This topic has become relevant to organizations since it is a potential problem, which may affect the organizations competitiveness, amongst other reasons. It is believed that some of the individuals who have turnover intention look for means of communication, new technologies, such as the professional social network LinkedIn, in order to spread their professional information, find professional opportunities by networking, as well as obtain more information about the labor market, besides different other functions. Therefore, the turnover intention may be considered as a previous factor to the individual adoption of the professional social network LinkedIn. This study has analyzed the previous factors that may influence the usage and how they use the professional social network LinkedIn, guided by the theoretical perspective of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), by Venkatesh et al (2003), and also guided by the scale of the turnover intention, by Siqueira et al (2014)and Van Dam (2008). The research is based on a quantitative investigation approach, in which data collection was done using a research tool, and obtained 292 answered questionnaires, which has made it possible to validate the relations between the constructs of the research model developed for the study of the individual adoption of the professional social network LinkedIn. There was an analysis of structural equations to make the test of the study hypotheses, based on PLS-PM (Partial Least Squares Path Modeling) from which satisfactory measures for all the investigated constructs and proposed models were presented, and all the relations between the constructs were significant. The results obtained by this study confirm the influence of previous factors, such as Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, and Turnover Intention, on the intention of using the professional social network LinkedIn. The study concludes that the Performance Expectancy was revealed to be the greatest influence in the intention of using LinkedIn, since there is the perception that by using it, it is possible to obtain some professional benefits as well as other aspects. The second factor to present the greatest influence was the Turnover Intention, once some individuals, by adopting LinkedIn, may tend to show it to other people or organizations that are interested in their talents, experiences, skills, network and so on. The Effort Expectancy, in turn, showed that some individuals notice it is easy to interact with such technology, and the Social Influence showed that there is the individuals perception as to the influence of their network in their intention of using LinkedIn.

Acceptans och användning av wearables : En surveyundersökning om hur användningen av wearables i träning kan förklaras med Unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT)

Visnapuu, Kaspar, Hasselqvist Haglund, Jakob January 2021 (has links)
Wearable fitness technology is a well known concept, with plenty of users. Statististics from the WorldHealthOrganization show that 23% of all adults do not exercise enough. Other studies have shown that many users stop using their wearable devices, as well as the fact that earlier studies have not focused on explaining acceptance and intention to use wearables in fitness. Following study is based on the constructs and moderating variables of the UTAUT-model and implies to investigate wearables acceptance in fitness of swedish speaking people. The data was gathered by a survey and was analysed using statistical methods. We found that Behavioral intention explained Use behaviour, and the intention to use wearable in fitness was mostly affected by Performance Expectancy.

Trefaldig symbios: Teknologi, Organisation & Covid-19. / Threefold symbiosis: Technology, Organization & Covid-19. : A deductive case study that examines the results of an accelerated digital transformation.

Anderberg, Kim January 2021 (has links)
Organizations that adopt digital innovations are facing a digital transformation, which can cause complications if not implemented in a systematic and methodical way. Due to Covid-19 organizations have had to adapt their work structure to enable personal to work from home to ensure the health of staff and customers. Covid-19 also forced organizations to accelerate their digital transformation which have led to a stressful implementation of new technology. An accelerated transformation can result in minimal effects which in turn results in failure and the organization can suffer the loss of assets, skills, and income. This case study aims to investigate how an organization in the Swedish bakery market has handled an accelerated digital transformation due to external pressure from Covid-19. Also, the study aims to investigate which relationship in the model T-O-E has the greatest impact on the organization’s technology adaptation. Seven hypotheses and one null hypothesis were generated based on theory and previous research. To answer these, a web-based quantitative survey was conducted consisting of 59 questions, measuring 18-character traits, which in turn examine five dimensions, (1) the digital transformation process, (2) individual impediments, (3) the organization’s obstacles and opportunities as well as the competence and incompetence imbedded in the organization, (4) perceived usability and user-friendliness and (5) Covid-19. The questionnaire was then analysed to find mean, standard deviation, percentage, and correlation. The result show that the company has successfully accomplished the transformation and this despite that all theory goes against this accomplishment, and sates that an accelerated digital transformation would result in failure. Furthermore, the result show that external pressures (in this case Covid-19) in T-O-E had the greatest impact on the organization's success and was the reason that the implementation succeeded without major complications. It turned out that the degree of complexity of the technology played a big role in the company's success. Because if the technology had maintained a greater degree of complexity, the company would probably not have been as successful. In conclusion, the factor Organization played a crucial role in the adoption of the technology, because the management despite a forced accelerated digital transformation managed to generate a smart leadership and an ideal culture, that caused most of the staff to experience the transformation positively. The study shows that companies do not need strategic analysis to be successful in a transformation, but on the other hand, a threefold symbiosis of technology, organization & Covid-19 is required to succeed with a forced accelerated transformation.

探討Podcasting採用因素與使用行為之研究 / The Research of the Influential Factors of Podcasting Adoption and Usage Behavior

Lai,Yu-Chi Unknown Date (has links)
Podcasting is known as the most popular personal media while Blog is previously considered the most important personal media. There are many attractive traits of Podcasting including RSS, portability, personal on demand, grassroots content. Podcasting has already become a hot trend in many countries, especially in America. What will be the future of Podcasting in Taiwan? When it comes to the development of new technology, we should go back to the users’ level to find the answers. Thus this paper explores the influential factors of Podcasting users’ acceptance and their behavior. The main objects of the study are the users who only download and listen to Podcasts because they are the majority in Taiwan so far. This paper is based on UTAUT theory adding "Perceived Playfulness" and "PIIT" in an attempt to form a more perfect interpretative model to do quantitative research. To broaden the scope of the whole research, I also adopt in-depth interviews in a qualitative way. Research results show that the most important factor affecting users’ intention is "Perceived Playfulness". Regarding "Use Behavior", "Behavior Intention" is noted as the most significant factor. Based on the information gathered from the interviews, the causes which lead to influence the users’ behavior are the diversity of the content and the maturity of the platforms. What influenced podcasters making podcasts are podcasters’ personality, ease of production process, the availability of suitable bandwidth and free (or cheap) network space, music and other intellectual property issues. All factors mentioned above are important issues in the development of podcasting. Of course, Podcasting has great potential for development so we can expect that there will be multi-oriented applications in the future.

Utbildning i en teknologiserad värld : En kvantitativ enkätstudie om vad som påverkar inställningen till online-utbildning / Education in a technological era : A quantitative study about what effects the attitude towards online-education.

Rosenlund, Rebecca January 2019 (has links)

Factors Influencing New Product Acceptance: A Study On Military Context

Simsek, Diler 01 October 2008 (has links) (PDF)
Attitudes of users towards new Information Technology products have been the matters of consumer research studies. Factors that affect user behavior in terms of IT acceptance have been modeled by different researchers with an attempt to predict the actual usage. This study aims to analyze these factors and their significance in military context. One of the robust models, namely Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) is used as the study model with required modifications in order to augment its compatibility. Therefore an exploratory survey study is conducted within the target user group of two rugged mobile computers with the participation of 37 Turkish sergeants. The study used both qualitative and quantitative instruments. The results showed that, for military products, users acceptance criteria mainly concentrate on the performance of the new product and its relative ease of use.

Understanding Self-Directed Blended Learner¡¦s Usage Behavior of E-Learning System

Lu, Chung-Han 25 April 2008 (has links)
The e-learning system is one of many educational methods that allow flexible learner-centered education. It is also an information system based on the Internet. Hence, the increasing use of the e-learning has provided an inter-disciplinary research opportunity to information systems and educational engineering fields. But the benefits of an e-learning are subjected to the organization¡¦s learning environments, readiness and the acceptance of self-directed users. In other words, self-directed learning (SDL) is a prerequisite to e-learning success. It is important to evaluate the readiness of self-directed users and their acceptance of e-learning system. This paper focuses on examining the applicability of both the technology acceptance model (TAM) and the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) in explaining adult self-directed users¡¦ acceptance of e-learning system in a blended learning context. The combination of user groups (adult learners), the technology (e-learning system), and the context (blended learning in a higher education institution) is new to IT acceptance researches. The purpose of this research is to shed light on more effective ways to motivate part-time adult learners to use e-learning system in a higher education institution. This study extends both the TAM and UTAUT models with self-directed learning (SDL) concepts. A questionnaire was developed based on previous works in the areas of technology acceptance and SDL. Based on responses from 433 adult blended learners, both SDL-based TAM and UTAUT models were evaluated in terms of overall fit, explanatory power, and their causal links. Overall, findings suggest that TAM may be more appropriate than UTAUT for examining high SDLRS score user group¡¦s e-learning acceptance behaviour; UTAUT may provide e-learning designers and management teams some crucial suggestions to enhance low SDLRS score users¡¦ system utilization. This study also asserts that the successful transition to an e-learning environment requires that the self-directed learners be actively encouraged and supported by their organizations. Results of this study provide reliable and valid SDL-based TAM and UTAUT instruments for organizations to determine whether their learners had the necessary skills for SDL-based blended learning before investing huge budget and time in a large-scale e-learning project. As more organizations experiment with e-learning systems, the SDL-based TAM and UTAUT models could be used to (a) assess the degree of users¡¦ self-directed readiness before e-learning implementation; and (b) evaluate the factors affecting users¡¦ acceptance of new e-learning system and provide useful remedies for improving system utilization rate after e-learning implementation.

Cogo, Gabriel Silva January 2013 (has links)
Cloud computing emerges when we talk about the necessity of the IT developers to always increase or add new capabilities, as soon as possible, with the lowest investment possible. It has been appointed as one of the biggest IT innovations in the recent years, and for that reason it’s been calling the attention of the academic and management communities. Even with the growing interest by the academic community, most of the research focus on technical aspects, such as computational potencial and costs. Researches involving professionals’ preferences with cloud computing as a business tool are limited to consultant and private studies at most. This research has the purpose of presenting a study about the impact of different dimensions in the intention of adoption of cloud computing by IT professionals. To do so, it uses a variation of the TAM/UTAUT model for the verification of the intention of adopting new technologies. The research method is the survey research, made with a previously proposed and adapted instrument, conducted in two stages: pre-test study and final study. Different statistical techniques were used to refine the instrument, such as Reliability Analisis, Exploratory Factor Analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis, this one using the PLS (Partial Least Squares) Path modeling for SEM (Structural Equation Modeling). As a result of this refinement, emerged a theorical research model containing 8 dimensions and 36 measuring items. As contribution to the IS area, the theorical model proved adequate to assess the intention of adoption of cloud computing by IT professionals. The research’s main contribution to the business practice is the model of cloud computing intention of adoption, that aids cloud providers, trought the measurement of the main reasons behind the adoption of the technology, wich are Perceived Utility and Attitude Towards Technology Innovation. Also demonstrates that there are no positive relation between Security and Trust and the Behaviorial Intention. Twelve of the hypothesis were sustained, and six of the proposed hypothesis were denied by the data. This information intends to inspire efforts in developing the technology as a business tool.
