A proposta desta tese é analisar a representação de questões sócio-históricas em American blues, de Tennessee Williams, coletânea de cinco peças curtas escritas durante as décadas de 1930 e 1940 e reunidas para publicação em 1948. Cada uma delas é de vital importância para a compreensão da sociedade norte-americana desse período. Considerando que o blues expressa o pathos e as condições de vida da classe trabalhadora e dos excluídos das relações de produção, afirma-se que as peças Moony´s kid don´t cry, The dark room e The long stay cut short, or The unsatisfactory supper figuram os efeitos causados sobre essa larga camada da população nos anos da Depressão Econômica. The case of the crushed petunias a lyrical fantasy parodia o impacto da sufocante ideologia do American way of life sobre a classe média e o desinteresse dessa pelos principais acontecimentos durante a II Guerra Mundial. Por fim, Ten blocks on the Camino Real a fantasy alegoriza a sociedade capitalista do pós-guerra e o nascedouro da era macartista. Por meio de um sucinto levantamento das peças escritas por Tennessee Williams até a publicação da coletânea é possível extrair elementos que permitem evidenciar a constituição e organicidade de American blues. / The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the representation of socio-historical issues in American blues, by Tennessee Williams, a collection of five short plays written during the 1930s and 1940s and grouped for publication in 1948. Each one is vitally important to the understanding of the American society of that period. Taking into consideration that the blues express the pathos and the living conditions of the working class and those excluded from the relations of production, we assert that the plays Moony\'s kid don´t cry, The dark room and The long stay cut short, or The unsatisfactory supper represent the effects of the Great Depression on this broad population group. The case of the crushed petunias a lyrical fantasy parodies the impact of the American way of life ideology on the middle class as well as this class´s indifference concerning the major events of World War II. Finally, Ten Blocks on the Camino Real a fantasy allegorizes postwar capitalist society and the roots of the McCarthy era. Through a brief survey of the plays written by Tennessee Williams until the publication of the collection it is possible to draw elements that evidence the constitution and organicity of American blues.

Vibronic coupling and ultrafast electron transfer studied by picosecond time-resolved resonance Raman and CARS spectroscopy

Diese Arbeit befasst sich mit der vibronischen Kopplung zweier angeregter Elektronenniveaus in Diphenylhexatrien (DPH) und mit der Rolle von Schwingungsmoden beim ultraschnellen photoinduzierten intramolekularen Elektronentransfer in Betain-30. Mit Hilfe von Pikosekunden-zeitaufgelöster Kohärenter Antistokes Ramanspektroskopie im angeregten Zustand des DPH haben wir zum ersten Mal das Auftreten zweier extrem frequenzverbreiterter Ramanlinien beobachtet, die gegenüber dem C=C Streckschwingungsbereich zu höheren Wellenzahlen verschoben sind. Beide Ramanlinien lassen sich mit Erhöhung der Lösungsmittelpolarisierbarkeit um mehr als 50 cm-1 in Richtung niedrigerer Frequenzen verschieben. Zur Erklärung des Sachverhalts werden zwei Modelle diskutiert: (i) die Existenz zweier Isomere im ersten angeregten Elektronenniveau des DPH und (ii) vibronische Kopplung der beiden Elektronenniveaus durch eine niederfrequente asymmetrische bu Schwingungsbewegung (pseudo-Jahn-Teller Effekt). Mit Hilfe von stationärer Ramanspektroskopie und insbesondere Messungen der Stokes- und anti-Stokes-Ramanspektren mit Pikosekunden-Zeitauflösung, die Beteiligung von Molekülschwingungen beim Elektronentransfer in Betain-30 wurde untersucht. Zum ersten Mal wurde eine modenspezifische Kinetik der Ramanaktiven Schwingungen nach Elektronen Rücktransfer in Betain-30 beobachtet. Die hochfrequenten Ramanaktiven Moden werden beim Elektronen Rücktransfer bevorzugt, was zu einer nicht-thermischen Besetzung der Schwingungen führt. Das ist zumindest qualitativ in Übereinstimmung mit Rechnungen die auf Fermi's Goldener Regel basieren. Eine Thermalisierung zwischen den beobachteten Ramanaktiven Moden stellt sich frühestens 10 ps nach Anregung ein. Die Thermalisierung in dem gesamten Molekül ist aber noch nicht beendet. / This thesis deals with vibronic coupling effects between two excited electronic singlet states in Diphenylhexatriene (DPH), and with the role of vibrational modes in photoinduced ultrafast electron transfer in Betaine-30. By using the picosecond time-resolved Coherent Antistokes Raman Spectroscopy method, it was possible to observe for the first time two very broad and unusual up-shifted vibrational frequencies in the excited singlet state of DPH, which have frequencies higher than frequency region of the C=C stretching mode. These two frequencies shift towards lower frequencies with increasing solvent polarizability. Two explanations have been discussed: (i) the simultaneous existence of two rotamers, where the two frequencies originate from "different molecules" and (ii) a model of vibronic coupling by an asymmetric low frequency bu-mode (pseudo-Jahn-Teller effect). By using the picosecond time-resolved anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy method, we observed for the first time mode-specific excitation of vibrational modes after back-electron transfer in Betaine-30. In the primary event, high frequency Raman active modes are most effective in accepting energy, which leads to a non-thermal distribution of the relative populations of Raman active modes. This is qualitatively in accordance with predictions derived from Fermi's Golden Rule. Although energy transfer between the Raman active modes has been finished after about 10 to 15 ps, thermalization is not yet complete in the whole molecule.

Adsorption energetics on Pd model catalysts by microcalorimetry

Die effiziente Nutzung der begrenzten Ressourcen auf der Erde ist ein entscheidender Faktor für ein nachhaltiges Leben. Die Entwicklung besserer Katalysatoren kann dabei einen wesentlichen Beitrag leisten. Ein umfassendes Verständnis der katalytischen Reaktivität würde es ermöglichen, spezifische katalytische Eigenschaften zu konzipieren und zu kontrollieren. In diese Arbeit wurde die Korrelation der Katalysatoroberfläche mit den Adsorptionswärmen von Molekülen aus der Gasphase untersucht. Insbesondere wurde die Adsorptionwärme von CO auf Pd-Partikeln als Funktion der Partikelgröße mittels gut charakterisierte Modelkatalysatorsysteme, eisenoxidgeträgerte Pd-Partikel, und UHV-Einkristalladsorptionskalorimetrie bestimmt. Es konnte die langjährige Kontroverse, wie sich die Adsorptionswärme von CO auf Pd mit der Partikelgröße ändert, aufgelöst werden. Die Adsorptionswärmen wurden für CO auf geträgerten Pd-Partikeln mit mittleren Größen zwischen 1.8 und 8 nm, sowie Pd(111) untersucht. Es zeigte sich dabei, dass die Anfangsadsorptionsenergie mit abnehmender Partikelgröße kleiner wird. Das Mikrokalorimeterexperiment besteht aus einer Präparationskammer und einer Kalorimetriekammer, die sowohl die Präparation und Charakterisierung von geträgerten metallischen Nanopartikeln, als auch Adsorptionsenergiemessungen ermöglichen. Das Kalorimeter basiert auf dem Design von Campbell et al. und nutzt eine pyroelektrische Folie als Detektor. Es wurden Verbesserungen in Bezug auf Ausrichtung, Temperaturstabilität und Vibrationsisolation implementiert. Ein gepulster Molekularstrahl wird eingesetzt, um die Oberfläche einem stabilen und homogenen Fluss von Gasphasenmolekülen auszusetzten. Desweiteren erlaubt ein In situ Reflektivitätsmessaufbau die Bestimmung der optischer Eigenschaften von Modelkatalysatoroberflächen, was entscheidend für eine akkurate Energiekalibration des Kalorimeters ist. / The efficient use of the limited resources on earth is a critical factor to sustainable life. The development of better catalysts can make a significant contribution. Complete understanding of the catalytic activity would facilitate the design and control of specific catalytic processes. In this work, the correlation of the catalyst structure and the heats of adsorption of gas-phase particles were investigated. In particular, the heat of adsorption for CO on Pd particles was determined as a function of particle size, using a well-characterized model catalyst system, Pd particles supported on an iron oxide film, and UHV single crystal adsorption microcalorimetry. It was possible to resolve the longstanding controversy, how the heat of adsorption of CO on Pd particles changes with particle size. The heat of adsorption for CO on Pd particles was studied on supported Pd particles with a mean diameter of 1.8 to 8 nm and Pd(111). The initial heat of adsorption was found to decrease with decreasing particle size. The completed microcalorimeter experiment comprises a preparation chamber and a calorimetry chamber, providing all means to prepare and characterize oxide supported metal nanoparticles and to perform adsorption energy measurements. The calorimeter is based on the design of Campbell et al., using a pyroelectric ribbon as a detector. Improvements with respect to alignment, temperature stability, and vibration isolation were implemented. A pulsed molecular beam is used to expose the surface to a stable and homogeneous flux of gas-phase molecules. Further, a dedicated in situ reflectivity measurement setup allows optical characterization of the model catalyst surfaces, which is crucial for an accurate energy calibration of the calorimeter.

Beschreibung der stationaeren optischen Eigenschaften offener Molekularsysteme mittels Dichtematrixpropagation

Die vorliegende Arbeit verallgemeinert die Methode der Wellenpaketpropagation fuer isolierte molekulare Systeme auf molekulare Systeme mit Umgebungswechselwirkung. Im Rahmen der Dichtematrixtheorie werden am Beispiel des linearen Absorptionskoeffizienten und des Raman-Streuquerschnitts Ausdruecke fuer stationaere optische Funktionen abgeleitet. Diese Ausdruecke lassen sich als Fouriertransformation einer durch Dichtematrixpropagation erhaltenen Groesse verstehen, deren Dynamik auch durch die Umgebung des molekularen Systems beeinflusst wird. Am Beispiel von drei Modellsystemen (OH-Streckschwingung von Wasser, NO in Ar-Matrizen, HCl in Ar-Matrizen) wird der lineare Absorptionskoeffizient im infraroten und ultravioletten Spektralbereich berechnet. Die Ergebnisse werden mit experimentellen Daten verglichen. Aus der numerisch ansruchsvollen drei-dimensionalen Behandlung des HCl in Ar werden zusaetzlich Schluesse ueber die Dynamik des H-Atoms bei der Photodissoziation gezogen. Der Ausdruck fuer den Raman-Streuquerschnitt wird an einem theoretischen Modellsystem untersucht. Insbesondere wird die Temperatur- und Feldstaerkeabhaengigkeit des Spektrums diskutiert. / The well-known wave paket propagation method is extended from isolated molecular systems to molekular systems interacting with a dissipative environment. In the framework of density matrix theory formulations of stationary optical properties (linear absorption and Raman scattering cross section) are found. Essentially these formulations contain the Fourier-transform of a term given by density matrix propagation which is influenced by the environment. For three examples (OH stretching vibration in liquid water, NO in Ar-matrices, HCl in Ar-matrices) the linear absorption coefficient is calculated in the infrared and ultraviolett spectral range. Comparisons with experimental data are given. For the case of HCl in Ar-matrices additional information concerning the dynamics of the H-atom during the photodissociation is given. The Raman scattering cross section is calculated for a theoretical model system. Especially temperature dependence and the influence of the electric field strength on the spectra is discussed.

Untersuchungen zur Relaxation von Anregungszuständen im Lichtsammelkomplex des Photosystems II höherer Pflanzen sowie im Halbleiter Cadmiumsulfid mittels Vierwellenmischung

Methoden der transienten Vierwellenmischung mit Femtosekunden-Zeitauflösung werden angewendet, um die Phasen- und Energierelaxation optisch selektiv erzeugter Anregungszustände im Lichtsammelkomplex II höherer Pflanzen (LHC II) sowie im Halbleiter Cadmiumsulfid (CdS) bei verschiedenen Temperaturen zu untersuchen. Für den LHC II werden die Ergebnisse der Messungen des zeitaufgelösten und integrierten Zweipuls-Photonenechos mit Resultaten aus Pump-Test-Experimenten verglichen, um unter Einbeziehung von Literaturdaten Rückschlüsse über den Charakter der phasenzerstörenden Prozesse zu ziehen und Zusammenhänge zu Strukturdaten des Komplexes aufzudecken. Die vorliegende Arbeit liefert erstmals einen systematischen Überblick über die totalen Phasenrelaxationszeiten T2 im Bereich der Qy-Bande des LHC II von 640 bis 685 nm bei 5 K. Das bei 5 K beobachtete Photonenechosignal am LHC II zeigt in Abhängigkeit von der Verzögerung der beiden Anregungsimpulse ein multiexponentielles Abklingen, das auf die Überlagerung der Einflüsse mehrerer Relaxationsprozesse zurückgeführt wird. Dabei lassen sich drei charakteristische Bereiche der Phasenrelaxationszeit unterscheiden, die verschiedenen phasenzerstörenden Prozessen zugeordnet werden. Ein Vergleich mit Resultaten aus Pump-Test-Experimenten führt zu der Schlußfolgerung, daß die Phasenrelaxation im LHC II bei 5 K für Wellenlängen £ 675 nm im wesentlichen durch den Energietransfer auf einer sub-ps Zeitskala bestimmt wird. Für Wellenlängen > 675 nm steigt die Phasenrelaxationszeit stark an und wird insbesondere im Bereich der tiefsten Anregungszustände um 680 nm durch reine Phasenzerstörung dominiert. Ab 20 K setzt bei dieser Wellenlänge ein zusätzlicher phasenzerstörender Prozeß ein, der mit steigender Temperatur zu einem mäßigen linearen Anstieg der Phasenrelaxationsrate (T2)-1 führt. Die Ursache ist vermutlich ein Aufwärts-Energietransfer. Im Bereich der Chlorophyll a-Absorption vernichten außerdem (physiologisch irrelevante) Multiexzitoneneffekte die Kohärenz der angeregten Zustände, verursacht durch die hohe Anregungsintensität. Zusammenfassend kann festgestellt werden, daß die Erhaltung der Kohärenz für die Funktionalität des LHC II eine untergeordnete Rolle spielt. Die wesentlichen Prozesse sind der schnelle räumliche Energietransfer und die Energierelaxation auf das Niveau des primären Elektrondonators P680 im Reaktionszentrum. Am Halbleiter CdS wird erstmals ein mittels Zwei-Photonen-Absorption angeregtes Photonenecho beschrieben, das in Abhängigkeit von der Wellenlänge charakteristische Quantenbeats mit einer Periode von 700 bis 800 fs zeigt. Das stark gedämpfte periodische Echosignal tritt sowohl für positive als auch für negative Verzögerungszeiten t der Anregungsimpulse auf, wobei die Abklingzeit für t>0 mit 170±10 fs doppelt so groß ist wie für t / Transient four-wave-mixing experiments with femtosecond resolution are performed in order to investigate phase and energy relaxation processes of optically excited states in the light harvesting complex II of higher plants (LHC II) and in the semiconductor cadmium sulfide (CdS) at different wavelengths and temperatures. Extensive studies of the time resolved and integrated two-pulse photon echo on LHC II are combined with pump-probe experiments. Results of both methods together with literature data are used to characterize the nature of dephasing processes and to reveal connections with structural data of the complex. This study gives the first systematic survey of total dephasing times T2 in the spectral region of the Qy-absorption band of LHC II from 640 to 685 nm at 5 K. In the case of LHC II, the photon echo signal at 5 K monitored as a function of delay between both excitation pulses shows a multi-exponential decay which is attributed to the superposition of several relaxation processes. Three characteristic dephasing time domains can be distinguished, ascribed to different dephasing processes. Comparing photon echo and pump-probe results it can be concluded that dephasing in LHC II at 5 K and for wavelengths £ 675 nm is dominated by the fast excitation energy transfer on a sub-ps time scale. At wavelengths > 675 nm the total dephasing time increases drastically. The loss of coherence of the lowest excited states around 680 nm at 5 K is mainly determined by pure dephasing. An additional dephasing process, probably uphill energy transfer, occurs at temperatures higher than 20 K leading to a moderate linear rise of the dephasing rate (T2)-1 with increasing temperature. Furthermore, the dephasing in the spectral region of chlorophyll a absorption is affected by (physiologically irrelevant) multi-excitonic effects caused by the high excitation energy. In summary, it can be concluded that the preservation of coherence plays a minor role in the functionality of LHC II. The main processes are the fast spatial excitation energy transfer and the energy relaxation down to the energetic level of the primary electron donor P680 of the reaction center. Investigations of four-wave mixing signals of the semiconductor CdS resulted in the first description of a two-photon excited photon echo in CdS showing characteristic quantum beats with a period of 700 to 800 fs in dependence on wavelength. The strongly damped periodical echo signal is found for both positive and negative delay times t between the excitation pulses. We asked about the meaning of authorial voices multiplication in Verissimo s project and the links established with his writing position in the context of neo-realism of the 30s. We developed the hypotheses from two assumptions: the characters-writers appearing as the author's own folds into a dynamic fit between narratives and the "saga" as a structural core of a literary project in (re)writing process. The theorical foundation left of Foucault, Bakhtin, Barthes and Giorgio Agamben on the author-function studies, the concept of plug-in by Todorov and the saga of Johnni Langer, and critical studies such as Antonio Candido, Flávio Loureiro Chaves and Maria Glory Bordini. In the analysis, we selected pairs of characters-writers, Noel-Fernanda and Vasco-Clarissa, who pointed to the confrontation between literary projects a ratio of removal-approach of social engagement, reflecting the Verissimo s conflict in the context of the neorealist in the 1930s. There was also the fit between narratives and characters betweenauthors, expanding the analytical framework covering the other works of the author. This revealed an architectural whose root is the saga, seen under a new facet: that which is woven between families of narratives. We conclude that Caminhos Cruzados and Um Lugar ao Sol established a reflection between author and literary text through migration of characters and the web of a novel in the other, making the "saga" the aesthetic compositional principle of Verissimo s project, committed to making art and at the same time with the individual and society / Esta dissertação trata da relação entre autor-criador e texto literário em Caminhos Cruzados (1935) e Um Lugar ao Sol (1936) de Erico Verissimo, sob as perspectivas do desdobramento de uma narrativa em outra e a de personagens-escritoras partilhando a função autoral com Verissimo-criador, posicionado na fissura entre o escritural e o biográfico. Questionávamos sobre o significado dessa multiplicação de vozes autorais no projeto verissiano e os vínculos que estabelecem com sua posição de escritor no contexto do Neorrealismo dos anos 30. Elaboramos as hipóteses a partir de dois pressupostos: o de personagens-escritoras revelando-se como dobras do próprio autor em uma dinâmica de encaixe entre narrativas e o da saga como núcleo estruturante de um projeto literário em processo de (re)escrita. Os fundamentos teóricos partiram dos estudos de Foucault, Bakhtin, Barthes e Giorgio Agamben sobre a função-autor, do conceito de encaixe de Todorov e do de saga de Johnni Langer, além de estudos críticos como os de Antonio Candido, Flávio Loureiro Chaves e Maria da Glória Bordini. Na análise, foram selecionados pares de personagens-escritoras, Noel-Fernanda e Vasco- Clarissa, que apontavam para o confronto entre projetos literários numa relação de afastamento-aproximação do engajamento social, refletindo o conflito de Verissimo no contexto neorrealista de 1930. Observou-se, também, o encaixe entre narrativas e entre personagens-autoras, ampliando o referencial de análise que abrangeu as demais obras do autor. Isto revelou uma arquitetônica cuja raiz é a saga, vista sob nova faceta: aquela que se tece entre famílias de narrativas. Concluímos que Caminhos Cruzados e Um Lugar ao Sol instauram a reflexão entre autor e texto literário por meio da migração de personagens e da tessitura de um romance no outro, fazendo da saga o princípio estético composicional do projeto verissiano, comprometido com o fazer artístico e, ao mesmo tempo, com o homem e a sociedade

We use the nomenclature didactic unit as a series of teaching and learning activities assembled and organized for learning purposes (LIBÂNEO; FREITAS, [2009]). This model, named didactic unit template, is built with the components of a didactic unit, and may contain autoforming features, which facilitate the production of the final document, even by less experienced authors. Our main objective was to better understand the template, its composition and socio-rhetorical organization, to reflect if and in what way it affects the quality of the material it supports, contributing to the teaching and learning process. We use as theoretical foundation the socio-rhetorical studies of gender. The authors consulted were Swales (1990; 2004); Miller (1984, 2014); Bhatia (1993, 2001, 2012); Bazerman (2000); Bazerman and Miller (2011); Aguiar (2011); Biasi-Rodrigues and Bezerra (2012); Campos (2014); Crescitelli and Campos (2015) and Motta-Roth (1998; 2004). Being restricted the access to templates, for reasons of copyright, we began our study by textbooks, in view of being a type of text whose components are included in didactic units and for having their use recognized in the support of educational activities. We analysed ten books and, of these, we selected two to present the more detailed analysis. Having obtained a template of allowed use, named as Template COL, we were able to analyse it and reproduce it here. This model was created by the Commonwealth of Learning (COL), an international organization supporting education, especially in less developed countries. For a second example, we describe the items of a didactic unit template, based on our experience working with this type of model. In these models, we identify rhetorical moves and steps, according to Swales' (1990) CARS Model, to better understand the organization and interrelationship of its elements. In the course of research, we have a contact with a case study of a researcher active in the development of education in Namibia (FRÖHLICH, 2008), which shows the practical use of the template to support authors, even with less experience. The contact with the Template COL and the reality in which it is used has shown us that – in addition to helping in the quality of the final document, as we have seen previously because of our professional experience – the application of templates can be a valuable resource, including in less favored regions. Analysis by socio-rhetorical principles allowed us to see the text through more than one approach, considering its objectives, its functioning and the people affected by it. For us, it has been evident that the careful planning of the didactic unit and the construction of its final document in an organized way are important so that it fulfills its purpose with students and teachers. In this composition, the author can be aided by the template, which also requires planning and constitutes a tool to support the preparation of documents for educational purposes / Esta dissertação insere-se na Linha de Pesquisa: Texto e discurso nas modalidades oral e escrita do Programa de Estudos Pós-Graduados em Língua Portuguesa. Trata-se do estudo de um modelo cuja finalidade é guiar o processo de escrita do documento unidade didática, por autores professores ou especialistas nas disciplinas. Empregamos a nomenclatura unidade didática como sendo uma série de atividades de ensino e aprendizagem reunidas e organizadas com propósitos de aprendizagem (LIBÂNEO; FREITAS, [2009]). Esse modelo, nomeado template de unidade didática, é construído com os componentes de uma unidade didática, podendo conter recursos de autoformatação, que facilitam a produção do documento final, mesmo por autores menos experientes. Nosso objetivo principal foi conhecer melhor o template, sua composição e organização sociorretórica, para refletir se e de que maneira ele afeta a qualidade do material a que dá suporte, contribuindo com o processo de ensino e aprendizagem. Utilizamos como fundamentação teórica os estudos sociorretóricos de gênero. Sendo restrito o acesso a templates, por questões autorais, iniciamos nosso estudo por livros didáticos, tendo em vista serem um tipo de texto cujos componentes figuram em unidades didáticas e por terem seu uso consagrado no apoio a atividades educacionais. Analisamos dez livros e, desses, selecionamos dois para apresentar a análise mais detalhada. Tendo obtido um template de uso permitido, nomeado como Template COL, pudemos analisá-lo e reproduzi-lo aqui. Esse modelo foi criado pela Commonwealth of Learning (COL), organização internacional de apoio à educação, principalmente em países menos desenvolvidos. Para uma segunda exemplificação, descrevemos os itens de um template de unidade didática, baseadas em nossa experiência de trabalho com esse tipo de modelo. Identificamos, nesses modelos, os movimentos retóricos e passos, conforme o Modelo CARS, de Swales (1990), para entender melhor a organização e a inter-relação de seus elementos. No percurso de pesquisa, conhecemos um estudo de caso de uma pesquisadora atuante no desenvolvimento da educação na Namíbia (Fröhlich, 2008), que evidencia a utilidade prática do template para apoiar autores, mesmo com menor experiência. O contato com o Template COL e com a realidade em que é utilizado mostrou-nos que – além de auxiliar na qualidade do documento final, como já havíamos constatado anteriormente em razão de nossa experiência profissional – a aplicação de templates pode ser um valioso recurso, inclusive em regiões menos favorecidas. A análise por princípios sociorretóricos permitiu-nos ver o texto por mais de um enfoque, considerando seus objetivos, seu funcionamento e as pessoas que por ele são afetadas. Evidenciou-se, para nós, ser relevante o planejamento criterioso da unidade didática e a construção de seu documento final de maneira organizada, para que cumpra seu propósito junto a estudantes e professores. Nessa composição, o autor pode ser auxiliado pelo template, que requer, igualmente, planejamento e constitui uma ferramenta de apoio à elaboração de documentos com fins didáticos

POLÍTICAS LINGUÍSTICAS PARA UM ENSINO CRÍTICO DE LÍNGUA INGLESA: AÇÕES E CONTRADIÇÕES NA CONTEMPORANEIDADE

By hegemonic discourses, we mean the speeches that have been constantly repeated, often, these speeches are presented at relevant places in society, which allow for the goals to be achieved inside their effects and reproduction (PINTO, 2014). Thus, we related our goal to the issues of language politics and language teaching (CORREA, 2014; RAJAGOPALAN, 2014), as we understand that this issue engenders attitudes and behaviors of teachers in the classroom. Thus, we conducted individual interviews with six teachers from the school and a meeting of discussion with three of those interviewed teachers. In the interviews we discussed various topics, not only issues relating to language politics, but also the experiences of participants in teaching and learning languages, and questions about forms of education that intend to be critical. At the meeting, the text written by Kramsch (2012) was the starting point of discussions whose themes were also diverse, especially in the interests of English language teaching and learning. Therefore, we emphasize that our methodology is qualitative, with ethnographic aspects and action research (LÜDKE; ANDRÉ, 1986; TELLES, 2002; TRIPP, 2005). From this view, we can also point out that we are located within the Applied Linguistics. (MOITA LOPES, 2008; PENNYCOOK, 2006). The theoretical apparatus that contributed to this research consisted of (CALVET, 2007; RAJAGOPALAN, 2011; 2013; JORDÃO, 2014, LEFFA, 2011, SIQUEIRA, 2008, LIMA, 2009, et al) to name a few, which brought contributions in different aspects and themes in the issues of language and more specifically the teaching of English. The results indicate that the survey participants have lines that suggest English teaching for a bias usually innovative, but with many caveats and / or inconsistencies, which as a rule, focus on traditional positions within that school. Therefore, we conclude that there are many nebulae issues within the English teaching in the researched context, and by extension, in other teaching-learning contexts, especially about the speeches that we repeat, often in situations of uncertainty. Thus, these discourses fill the doubts about the uncertain and reiterate what is already established. Finally, we hope to have contributed to the foreign language teaching issues, mainly, when we show its relations with cultural issues, whether they are individual and subjective, whether collective, which often are overlooked. / Este trabalho objetiva investigar se professores de uma escola de idiomas situada na cidade de Carambeí – PR, lugar notadamente multicultural e multilíngue, reproduzem discursos hegemônicos sobre a língua inglesa ou se por outro lado os problematizam. Por discursos hegemônicos nos referimos às falas que apresentam a característica de serem constantemente repetidas, muitas vezes, falas ditas em espaços legitimados na sociedade, o que lhes garante o controle dos seus efeitos e da sua reprodução (PINTO, 2014). Assim, relacionamos tal objetivo com as questões sobre política linguística e o ensino de língua (CORREA, 2014; RAJAGOPALAN, 2014), pois entendemos que estes temas engendram as atitudes e os comportamentos de professores em sala de aula. Desse modo, realizamos entrevistas individuais com seis professores do espaço já mencionado e um encontro de discussão com três desses professores entrevistados. Nas entrevistas abordamos temas diversos, desde assuntos relativos à política linguística, assim como as experiências dos participantes em ensino e aprendizagem de línguas, até questões sobre formas de ensino que se pretendem críticas. No encontro, o texto de Kramsch (2012) foi o ponto de partida das discussões cujas temáticas também foram diversas, sobretudo, dentro dos interesses em ensino e aprendizagem de língua inglesa. Ressaltamos, portanto, que nossa metodologia é qualitativa, com aspectos etnográficos e de pesquisa-ação (LÜDKE; ANDRÉ, 1986; TELLES, 2002; TRIPP, 2005). Por esse viés, podemos salientar também que nos localizamos dentro da Linguística Aplicada (MOITA LOPES, 2008; PENNYCOOK, 2006). O aparato teórico que contribuiu para esta pesquisa foi composto por Calvet (2007); Rajagopalan (2011; 2013); Jordão (2014); Leffa (2011); Siqueira (2008); Lima (2009), apenas para citar alguns, os quais trouxeram contribuições em diferentes aspectos e temáticas dentro das questões de línguas e, mais especificamente, o ensino de língua inglesa. Os resultados obtidos indicam que os participantes da pesquisa apresentam falas que sugerem o ensino de inglês por um viés quase sempre inovador, mas com muitas ressalvas e/ou contradições que, via de regra, incidem em posicionamentos tradicionais dentro desse ensino. Concluímos, portanto, que há muitas questões nebulosas dentro do ensino de inglês dentro do contexto pesquisado e, por extensão, nos demais contextos de ensino-aprendizagem, sobretudo no que refere aos discursos que repetimos, comumente, em situações de incerteza. Assim, esses discursos preenchem o conflito do incerto e reiteram o já estabelecido. Por fim, esperamos ter contribuído para as questões de ensino de língua estrangeira, principalmente ao mostrar suas relações com questões culturais, sejam elas individuais e subjetivas, sejam elas coletivas e, muitas vezes, deixadas de lado.

Neste trabalho, estudamos coincidências entre duas aplicações contínuas f e g, de X em Y, onde X e Y são variedades diferenciáveis, conexas, sendo X fechada (n+1)-dimensional e Y sem bordo n-dimensional. Quando o domínio é a esfera e g é constante, consideramos homomorfismos w\' e w\'\' que juntos determinam o invariante de bordismo normal do par (f,g). Calculamos w\'\' para vários espaços e, em particular, para fibrados esféricos sobre esferas, obtemos que w\'\' é identicamente nulo se, e somente se, Y é trivial ou Y não é um S&#178-fibrado sobre S&#8308. Finalmente, obtemos resultados tipo Wecken quando X é a esfera, e quando X é o espaço projetivo real de dimensão 3 e Y é a esfera de dimensão 2. / In this work, we study coincidences between two maps f and g, from X to Y, where X and Y are smooth manifolds, connected, being X closed (n+1)-dimensional and Y without boundary n-dimensional. When the domain is the sphere and g is constant, we consider homomorphisms w\' and w\'\' which together determine the normal bordism invariant of the pair (f,g). We calculate w\'\' for several spaces and, in particular, for sphere bundles over spheres, we obtain that w\'\' is identically null if and only if Y is trivial or Y is not an S&#178-bundle over S&#8308. Finally, we obtain Wecken type results when X is the sphere, and when X is the 3-dimensional real projective space and Y is the 2-dimensional sphere.
