Στη σημερινή κοινωνία της πληροφορίας, το Διαδίκτυο αποτελεί ένα πολύτιμο εργαλείο ανταλλαγής ιδεών και πληροφοριών. Η εύκολη και αποτελεσματική πρόσβαση στο Διαδίκτυο για όλους τους ανθρώπους, ανεξάρτητα από τις φυσικές ή νοητικές τους ικανότητες, αποτελεί επιτακτική ανάγκη τόσο για ηθικούς όσο και για οικονομικούς λόγους. Στόχος της συγκεκριμένης διπλωματικής εργασίας είναι η παρουσίαση των μιας εφαρμογής που αποσκοπεί: α) στην ευαισθητοποίηση των σχεδιαστών δικτυακών τόπων σε θέματα προσβασιμότητας και β) στη μεταλαμπάδευση των βασικών κανόνων και πρακτικών που απαιτούνται για την υλοποίηση προσβάσιμων δικτυακών τόπων. Η βασική ιδέα της εργασίας είναι η δημιουργία ενός ελεύθερα διατιθέμενου Διαδικτυακού εργαλείου το οποίο να αναδεικνύει μέσω αντιπροσωπευτικών παραδειγμάτων τα προβλήματα που προκύπτουν από την έλλειψη προσβασιμότητας και να επιτρέπει την εκμάθηση των βασικών σχεδιαστικών κανόνων προσβασιμότητας. Το εργαλείο αυτό απευθύνεται τόσο στους ανθρώπους που αναπτύσσουν σήμερα ιστοτόπους όσο και σε φοιτητές και καθηγητές που διαμορφώνουν σε κάποιο βαθμό τη συνείδηση και τις πρακτικές των μελλοντικών σχεδιαστών. Στα πλαίσια της σχεδίασης του εν λόγω εργαλείου έγινε αρχικά μια εκτενής μελέτη στην οποία διερευνήθηκε η προσβασιμότητα 50 ελληνικών δικτυακών τόπων. Από τη μελέτη αυτή προέκυψαν αντιπροσωπευτικά παραδείγματα παραβίασης των κανόνων προσβασιμότητας, τα οποία αποτελούν το βασικό περιεχόμενο της εφαρμογής. Παράλληλα η διπλωματική εργασία περιγράφει βασικές έννοιες που σχετίζονται με την διαδικτυακή προσβασιμότητα, όπως τις κατηγορίες ανθρώπων που αφορά κυρίως, τις βοηθητικές τεχνολογίες που χρησιμοποιούν, καθώς και τις μεθοδολογίες που χρησιμοποιούνται για την αξιολόγηση της προσβασιμότητας δικτυακών τόπων. / Ιn today’s information society the Web has become an invaluable way to access information and exchange ideas. Providing easy and effective access to the Web for all people, despite their different physical and cognitive abilities, is an essential aspect for both moral and financial reasons. The goal of this thesis is to present an application that aims to: a) increase awareness of web designers on the subject of accessibility and b) disseminate and teach Web accessibility guidelines and good design practices. The thesis describes the design steps followed to produce a freely-distributed web-based application that adopts an example-based learning approach. The tool exposes people to the accessibility impasses that arise when certain, established guidelines are violated and supports its users to learn existing accessibility guidelines and good design practices. The tool is addressed to Web practitioners, teachers and last but not least students who currently shape their future Web development practices. The examples used in the tool were derived from an in-depth, web accessibility evaluation study of 50 Greek websites. The thesis also provides introductory information to the subject of web accessibility, such as people mainly affected by inaccessible websites, assistive technologies and accessibility evaluation methods and tools.

Atualmente, é fácil perceber que as pessoas estão envolvidas em vários projetos simultaneamente e que têm que organizar suas agendas dividindo tempo entre vida pessoal, acadêmica, empresarial, etc. Este cenário traz uma necessidade de possuir poder de mobilidade e capacidade de trabalhar assincronamente e em locais diferentes e distantes; e isto pode ser propiciado por ferramentas virtuais. Para atingir seus objetivos, muitas organizações estão explorando diversos níveis de virtualização ou trabalho remoto facilitado pela tecnologia. Desta forma, o objetivo geral do trabalho é propor componentes de um modelo que seja operado e esteja disponível na internet, de baixo custo, estejam eles ou não integrados. A finalidade é a facilitação das atividades e da gestão de pequenas empresas de TI. Para atingir tal objetivo, foram realizadas três atividades de campo, num estudo de caráter exploratório. As duas primeiras atividades foram realizadas em laboratório de informática, com alunos de graduação em Administração, e a terceira em empresa de pequeno porte que atua no ramo de TI. O intuito é que, ao final de tais atividades, se chegue a um modelo que possa ser utilizado por empresas de pequeno porte que já disponham de infra-estrutura tecnológica (computadores e internet), com a finalidade de auxiliá-las na realização de suas principais atividades e na sua gestão, de forma virtual, remota e compartilhada. / Currently, it is easy to notice that people are simultaneously involved in several projects and have to organize their schedules sharing their time between personal, academic, and business life, etc. This scenario brings the need of mobility power and the ability to work asynchronously and in different and distant places. This can be brought about by virtual tools. To achieve their goals, many organizations are exploring different levels of virtualization or remote work facilitated by technology. Thus, the overall objective of the study is to propose components and tools of a model that is operated and is available on the Internet, free to use, whether they are integrated or not. The purpose is to facilitate the operation and the management of small IT companies and consulting management. To achieve this goal, there have been realized three field activities, with exploratory characteristics. The first two activities were held in a computer lab with undergraduate management students, and the third, in a small business that operates in the IT industry. The intention is, at the end of such activities, to reach a model that can be used by small businesses that already have the technological infrastructure (computers and Internet) in order to assist them in performing their key management activities, in a virtual, remote and shared way.

O estudo identifica as mídias digitais disponibilizadas atualmente pelas bibliotecas universitárias da área de exatas do Brasil e do exterior. Para tanto, verificou-se na literatura de que forma a utilização de ferramentas de tecnologia da informação e comunicação (TIC) atende às demandas de fontes de informação dos usuários. Nesse enfoque, foram elencadas as principais iniciativas de bibliotecas universitárias brasileiras e do exterior com melhor avaliação nos rankings universitários. Elaborou-se, ainda, um estudo comparativo entre a literatura e a aplicação de produtos e serviços disponíveis nos ambientes digitais das bibliotecas. Também foram levantadas as direções contemporâneas em serviços de bibliotecas, como forma de caracterizar a atuação presente e as principais propensões tecnológicas. O objetivo da pesquisa é avaliar as tendências e verificar a adaptação das bibliotecas universitárias aos novos recursos tecnológicos de informação, por meio da identificação do que se encontra disponível para os usuários em seus websites. Utilizou-se como amostra de pesquisa bibliotecas da área de matemática, estatística e computação, em seguida, foram apresentadas propostas de aplicação dos recursos identificados para a Biblioteca Carlos Benjamin de Lyra, do Instituto de Matemática e Estatística (IME) da Universidade de São Paulo (USP). A partir do resultado desta pesquisa, considera-se que as bibliotecas do exterior estão mais avançadas quanto ao uso de ferramentas da Web 2.0 e também 3.0 nos recursos oferecidos aos usuários e em seus serviços. As bibliotecas do Brasil ainda são tímidas em sua atuação na Era Digital, no entanto, mostram consideráveis avanços no desenvolvimento de portais de periódicos e de repositórios em acesso aberto, além de utilizarem os sistemas de descoberta para a pesquisa integrada de recursos informacionais / The study identifies the digital media currently available from university libraries in the area of exact sciences in Brazil and abroad. For this, it was verified in the literature how the use of information and communication technology (ICT) tools meets the demands of users\' information sources. In this approach, the main initiatives of Brazilian and foreign university libraries with better evaluation in university rankings were listed. A comparative study between the literature and the application of products and services available in the digital environments of the libraries was also elaborated. In addition, contemporary directions in library services have also been raised as a way of characterizing the present performance and the main technological propensities. The objective of the research is to evaluate the trends and verify the adaptation of the university libraries to the new technological resources of information, through the identification of what is available to the users in its websites. We used as research sample libraries in the area of mathematics, statistics and computation, then proposals were presented for the application of the resources identified for the Library Carlos Benjamin de Lyra, Institute of Mathematics and Statistics (IME) of the University of São Paulo (USP). From the results of this research, foreign libraries are considered to be more advanced in the use of Web 2.0 tools and also 3.0 in the resources offered to users and their services. Brazilian libraries are still timid in their work in the Digital Age, however, they show considerable advances in the development of journal portals and open access repositories, as well as using discovery systems for the integrated search of information resources.

The research development was divided into four phases. The first one, named preparation, intended to identify the elements used by digital libraries which are accessible by means of web, following a set of criteria, characterized by the sample that was composed of eighteen libraries in the Portuguese language. In this phase, a quantitative/qualitative methodological approach was used. Data collection was carried out through techniques such as content analysis, documental analysis and questionnaire use so as to validate the mentioned analysis. In relation to the second phase, named planning, the choice of the technological elements available for the implementation of a digital library was fulfilled. For data collection, the documental analysis was used. The third one, the development, was composed of activities concerning a prototype development of a public digital library as well as the description of its construction procedures. Finally, in the fourth phase, the control, the use and the users´ impression of the developed library were measured and analyzed. For data collection, the webometric analysis and the on-line questionnaire answered by the users were employed. As the research was developed, it was verified that there is no standard model for digital libraries that are in their operational process, different from the traditional ones, being highlighted that there is disparity in the observed characteristics. In regard to archive policy, the research realized that the digital libraries do not have it or they are not documented. The lack of the professional librarian, in these information units, was also emphasized. With reference to the tools, the available diversity in the web allows any traditional library, with the suitable skilled human resources, to be part of the technological world without great difficulties. The metrics employed to measure the prototype use perceived numbers that allow identifying the users´ access and satisfaction. As final result, this research indicates alternatives for the librarians and managers of information units demonstrating thus procedures that enable free access to quality and democratic information, without burdening the institution´s budget. / Reconhecendo o relevante papel das bibliotecas públicas como instituições no processo de desenvolvimento, o presente trabalho teve como objetivo geral analisar ferramentas livres ou gratuitas para o desenvolvimento de bibliotecas digitais descrevendo sua aplicação. O desenvolvimento do trabalho se dividiu em quatro fases. A primeira, denominada preparação, buscou identificar os elementos utilizados por bibliotecas digitais acessíveis pela Web, seguindo um conjunto de critérios, caracterizado pela amostra que foi composta de dezoito bibliotecas em língua portuguesa. Nesta fase, utilizou-se uma abordagem metodológica quanti-qualitativa. A coleta de dados foi realizada com técnicas de análise de conteúdo, análise documental e aplicação de questionário para validar a referida análise. Para a segunda fase, denominada planejamento, deu-se a escolha dos elementos tecnológicos disponíveis para a implementação de uma biblioteca digital. Para a coleta dos dados, utilizou-se a análise documental. A terceira fase, o desenvolvimento, foi composta pelas atividades de desenvolver um protótipo de biblioteca digital pública, e descrever seus procedimentos de construção. Por fim, na quarta fase, o controle, buscou-se medir e analisar o uso e a impressão dos usuários da biblioteca desenvolvida. Para a coleta dos dados, utilizou-se da análise Webométrica e de questionário on-line aplicado com os usuários. Com o desenvolvimento da pesquisa, verificou-se que não existe um modelo padrão para as bibliotecas digitais que estão operacionais, diferente do que existe nas tradicionais, evidenciando que há uma disparidade das características verificadas. Quanto à política de acervo, a pesquisa constatou que as bibliotecas digitais não possuem ou não estão documentadas. Evidenciou-se, também, a falta do profissional bibliotecário a frente dessas unidades digitais de informação. Acerca das ferramentas, a diversidade disponível na Web permite a qualquer biblioteca tradicional, com os recursos humanos devidamente preparados, se inserir no mundo tecnológico sem grandes dificuldades. As métricas aplicadas para medir a utilização do protótipo constataram números que permitem identificar perfil, o acesso e a satisfação dos usuários. Como resultado final, esta pesquisa indica alternativas para os bibliotecários e gestores de unidades de informação, demonstrando procedimentos que permitem dar acesso gratuito à informação de qualidade e democrática, sem onerar o orçamento da instituição.
