Contribution à la compréhension du phénomène Génération Y en entreprise : étude exploratoire du processus de socialisation organisationnelle des jeunes diplômés inscrits dans un graduate programme / Contribution to the Understanding of the “Generation Y” Phenomenon in Organizations : an Exploratory Study of the Process of Organizational Socialization of Young Graduates Enrolled in a Graduate Program

Kleber, Aurélie 11 December 2017 (has links)
In management, the research on the Generation Y’s behaviors at work is criticized. Yet the questions of cohabitation and generational renewal are the subject of numerous writings in the press. If the search for a Y identity as a circumscribed entity seems unsuccessful, the study of the organizational socialization of a cohort based on organizational input at a similar age seems relevant to understand the meaning of the phenomenon. Moreover, in a context of attraction and retention of the best young graduates with potential, big corporations progressively design graduate programs. The qualitative longitudinal study carried out within the TRANSLOG company combines several research methods, enabling the enrichment of the academic literature at two levels. At the individual level, the analysis of 60 longitudinal interviews with 17 trainees revealed the process of socialization of these graduates over 24 months in various role transitions. At the organizational level, the organizational practices and tactics of socialization implemented by the company and the socializing agents are exposed, as well as the strengths and dysfunctions of the practices used. A reading of the “Generation Y” phenomenon is proposed. Our results show that the organizational cohort (in the company) and the societal cohort (inside and outside the company) are two complementary views focused on generational identity, which have to be read in a dual way in order to grasp its mechanisms. Managerial and organizational recommendations are suggested for TRANSLOG and for organizations with similar issues.

The role of the preceptor in selected clinical nursing practice settings in Botswana

Dube, Antonia 30 June 2004 (has links)
A non-experimental, explorative, descriptive, quantitative study was undertaken. The purpose was to explore and describe the views of preceptors and preceptees regarding the fulfillment of the role of the preceptor in selected clinical nursing practice settings in the Botswana context. The study included 72 preceptors and 200 nursing students/preceptees who voluntarily agreed to participate in the study. A questionnaire was used to collect data. Data was analysed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings of this study indicated that there were numerous constraints that interfered with the preceptor role in accompaniment of the preceptee. These constraints included the lack of desirable characteristics and time to plan learning opportunities, inadequate use of teaching strategies and inadequate knowledge on preceptee evaluation. Recommendations were stated for improvements in the future role of the preceptor in clinical practice settings Limitations of this study were also highlighted. / Health Studies / M.A.(Health studies)

Pastorale behoeftes en ervarings van Afrikaanssprekende gelowiges binne die Gereformeerde tradisie wat betrokke raak by kontemplatiewe spiritualiteit / The pastoral needs and experiences of Afrikaans speaking believers in the Reformed tradition involved in contemplative spirituality

Van der Merwe, Hester Maria, M.Th. 11 1900 (has links)
Text in Afrikaans / In this qualitative research study the landscape of the age-old tradition of contemplative spirituality within the context of the reformed tradition was investigated. An empirical study was done to determine the pastoral needs and experiences of Afrikaans speaking believers from the reformed tradition, involved in contemplative spirituality. Questionnaires and qualitative interviews were used for this purpose. The research path has been further shaped by social construction theory as a postmodern approach. This study was born out of my own discovery of the healing qualities of contemplative spirituality and secondly due to the growing demand among Afrikaans speaking reformed believers for exposure to the disciplines of contemplative spirituality. Little research is available on this topic and is it the hope of this research to open new conversations about contemplative spirituality in the Afrikaans reformed tradition. / Philosophy, Practical and Systematic Theology / M. Ondersoek na die betekenis van goddelike openbaringskennis en werklikheidsbeelde vir die begeleiding van die mens / Searching for meaning of Godlike revelation knowledge and reality images for the accompaniment of man

Smith, Theo George 12 1900 (has links)
This research elucidates and evaluates the development of the major worldviews of the Western culture by focusing on the crucial sphere of interaction between philosophy, religion, science and history. A coherent account of the changing conception of reality seems to be possible only to the extent to which one is historically informed. In the ancient world Forms and Ideas were timeless. Conceptual abstractions as creations of the human mind were expressions of the more fundamental ideas or deepest reality. These ideas unveiled authentic reality and how one should conduct life. A fundamental epochal shift (a Copernican revolution) in the perspective and fundamental metaphor of the entire modem worldview began with Descartes and culminated in Kant. Christianity was undermined and science suddenly stood forth as mankind's liberation appealing to common sense and concrete reality. The radical displacement of the human being from the centre of Total Reality (Being) was reinforced by Darwin's relativism of the human being, leading to a world devoid of spiritual purpose and intrinsic meaning. The postmodern intellectual era is profoundly complex, without consensus of the nature of reality, it is open-ended, but blessed with an unprecedented wealth of perspectives to engage the issues confronting it and to solve problems. Contemporary history reflects a universal mood of destruction but also a longing for political, social and philosophical renewal. It seems to be the right moment for a metamorphosis (a periagoge') of fundamental principles and symbols. The deepest passion of the Western mind should be to reunite with the ground of its being, to reconnect with Total Reality (Being), embrace a larger unity and transcend human alienation. The reflective or metaparadigmatic approach seems to create a balance between calculative and reflective thinking and create the necessary openness for an authentic postmodern model of thought. A threshold needs to be crossed demanding trust and faith to bring about the most basic structure of reality. / Educational Studies / D. Ed. (Filosofie van Opvoedkunde)

Vers une autonomie en apprentissage selon le chemin du milieu : le cas des étudiants de français à l’Université Nationale de Hanoï / Towards autonomy in learning according to the middle way : the case of students of French at the National University of Hanoi

Do, Thanh Thuy 14 October 2016 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to analyse in depth the question of learner autonomy, considered to be a fundamental requirement in the educational field. Adopting a cultural perspective, the study acknowledges first of all the difficulty in applying western models to the context of learning French as a foreign language in Vietnam. It adopts an abductive research method based on a grounded theory approach entailing successive interplay between empirical work and theory. A rich and complex corpus has been collected through filming, interviews, the log-books of the four students observed, the exchange of emails and note-taking. In order to elucidate the complexity of the concept of autonomy it was necessary to explore the notions of strategy and competence and to identify learning difficulties. The study reveals notably that emotion plays an intermediary role in the interdependent relationship between the different learning components. This relationship is based upon both linear and cyclical causality. By showing the different obstacles the actor-learner must overcome in order to be autonomous, the study affirms the necessity to keep a balance between analytic and synthetic modes of thinking. Scaffolding the leaner’s development requires the tutor to accompany him/her towards this balance and to endeavour to maintain the same balance during the scaffolding process.

La "santé à tout prix" à l'épreuve de l'éthique : tenants et aboutissants d'un mythe moderne / “Health at any price” test of ethics : ins and outs of a modern myth

Leneveu, Marie-Claude 03 October 2014 (has links)
The topic of research is to analyze the ins and outs of modern myth of perfect health through socio-anthropological approaches, philosophical and theological-religious to grasp its ethical problems. Examining changes in treatment practices needed to transcribe first, from a theoretical mode, the principles are the foundations of sanitary requirement then consider ad hoc experiments. Also supposed to embody this ideology, systematic neonatal screening for cystic fibrosis related centers of genetic monitoring was the empirical basis for an ethical questioning sui generis, as the responsibility of the man facing the vulnerability and human finitude. Guided by an ethic of speech suggesting ultimately creating spaces for reflection where creative thinking follows the concept of “rite of passage" - with its accompanying dynamics - provides indications on reality based an ethic of care determined.

The accompaniment practice in France (1750-1800) : from improvised continuo to written keyboard parts in sonatas with violin

Verwaerde, Clotilde 14 April 2015 (has links)
Between 1750 and 1800, the emergence and adoption of new musical genres and stylistic models radically change the accompaniment practice on keyboard instruments in France. Figured bass becomes scarce and is gradually replaced by written-out keyboard parts in vocal music. The first part of this thesis defines the role of the accompanist and the evolution of the notation. The second part is devoted to the instructions given in methods and treatises and establishes links with foreign schools and the following century. Finally, the third part reconsiders the question of the accompaniment in the sonatas for keyboard and violin. The comparison between theoretical writings and scores finds a direct application in the continuo and keyboard accompaniment practice, and leads to the proposition of realisation models in accordance with the characteristics observed in the musical works of that period.

The experiences of male nurses in midwifery clinical training at a regional hospital in the Eastern Cape

Meyer, Rushaan 27 November 2013 (has links)
The purpose of the study was to explore and describe the experiences of male community service officers during midwifery clinical training. A qualitative, explorative, descriptive and contextual design was used in order to achieve the study objectives. Data was collected by means of semi-structured interviews. Data analysis elucidated analogous themes and categories which translated into the overall experiences of the participants. The study found that whilst the experience was described as beneficial, there were overwhelming challenges in providing intimate care to female clients, dealing with ethno-cultural aspects, meeting clinical practice requirements and the right to choose to be part of midwifery clinical training. Recommendations to nurse educators, clinical midwives and midwifery clinical supervisors with regard to better support for male nurses during midwifery clinical training emanated from the study findings / Health Studies / M.A. (Health Studies)
