This pattern, when it occurs in historical price series indicate trend reversals and thus signal moments of buying and selling of shares, within the so-called Capital Markets. An investment strategy composed of a pattern detection algorithm divergence of the MACD indicator was implemented and applied to several historical series of american stock prices considering trade volumes, popularity of the company, price volatility and their comparison with returns on random dates market entrance. In addition, a stock portfolio composed of the higher volume trading and more volatile stocks was implemented. These tests considered the period from 2003 to 2013. Another test on definite trend moments and not definite considered the interval from 2000 to 2013. Overall, all the tests and simulations, were obtained positive returns on investments based on past prices using a strategy when compared with simple strategies such as buy a stock and hold it till the end of the period, or in comparison with major indexes in the US market. One can conclude, therefore, that the divergence pattern of the MACD indicator was able to predict reversals trends in stock prices used as reference during the period.

No. of bitstreams: 1 2017 - Jo?o Henrique Gaia Gomes.pdf: 3515689 bytes, checksum: 6a7151f0e574d679527cd2a45c6c5668 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2017-02-23 / CAPES / As a result of activities such as agriculture, pastures for cattle raising, mining areas, logging and improper occupation in urban areas, about 28% of the Brazilian territory is classified as degraded. In some regions of Brazil, due to their geomorphological aspects associated to the intense precipitations that occur in summer, degradation problems such as erosive processes and slope slides can be verified. The Pinheiral-RJ region currently has only 18% of its territory under native forest cover at different levels of alteration and regeneration, with 88% of its area classified as high or very high vulnerable to erosion. Therefore, the objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of soil attributes and morphology of the sub-basin of the CachimbalRiver as conditions to the erosive process in different topographic features (pedoforms), concave and convex, in the Middle Vale do Para?ba do Sul -RJ, in order to generate information that contributes to the recovery programs of degraded areas. The digital elevation model (DEM) was generated using topographic maps of the municipalities of Volta Redonda (Page SF-23-Z-A-V-2) and Pira? (Page SF-23-Z-VI-1) using ArcGis 10.2 software. The quantification of gull numbers was performed through Google Earth. Morphometric characterization, trench opening for soil classification, collection of soil samples, physical and routine fertility analysis and analysis of soil attributes variability were performed based on literature criteria. It was verified that there is no susceptibility to flood in the studied area due to its elongated shape. The sub-basin has a dendritic drainage pattern, flow order of 5th degree, and very large drainage density(Dd). In particular, the average hydrographic density (Hd) value indicates a high potential for generating new channels. Although roughness coefficient (Cr)indicates agricultural capacity for agriculture, roughness index (Ir) demonstrates the need to adopt more nuanced agricultural practices that take into account the particular characteristics of the area and recognize variations in the terrain and soil characteristics. 30 gullies were quantified throughout the sub-basin, 24 being in the convex pedoform and 6 in the concave. The physical and chemical attributes differ in the environments.

In seeking to achieve this goal, it was possible to question about the relations of power, which in this context are related to the way that an alcoholic beverage demand advertising set up on the receiving audience. If dealing with a product that can cause addiction, social problems and be consumed by an underage audience, it is very important to understand what discursive strategies are employed by the brand. For theoretical foundation was made a literature review about advertising & advertising, online social media, consumer, discourse and ideology. The sources were obtained through desk research of qualitative nature, which lasted two years and six months, starting in January 2013 and ending in June 2015. The research corpus was composed of advertisements with more tanned in each semester , distributed through institutional page of Skol beer brand on Facebook, which totaled ten ads compounds for image and text multimodality. For ideology of identification were categorized eight discursive objects that make up three discursive formations, which are: positioning, educating consumers and consumption as entertainment. The analysis method was Discourse Critical Analysis focused on three-dimensional model of discourse proposed by Fairclough (2001), along with multimodal analysis Machin & Mayr (2012). The results suggest that the Skol beer brand, seeks to sustain consumerism speech order, or market ideology.

On the other hand, some consumers seek a more balanced diet, either because they are health-conscious or because they want to keep a good physical shape. The diet and light products were developed to meet the demand of individuals affected by NCDs and obesity, as well as those who look for fitness. Diet product refers to food for special purposes, and they are for both individuals who need diet with restriction of nutrients such as carbohydrates, fats, proteins, and sodium; as for those who want to control the intake aiming at controlling the weight. The light product refers to the 25% minimum reduction of some ingredient compared to the traditional counterpart. The production of this type of food increases every year in sale volume. The information on the labels of such products still generates doubts to consumers. This project investigated the perception of consumers regarding diet/light products, using a qualitative approach (Focus group sessions) as well as quantitative, from the Focus Group findings. The qualitative study investigated the level of understanding regarding such as products, the consumers perception of the risks and benefits associated with the consumption of diet and light, as well as the negative and the positive points perceived by them. Non- consumers of diet and light were also interviewed and the reasons for the non-consumption were discussed. The quantitative approach focused on calorie-reduced jams (strawberry and guava in the version diet, light, zero sugar) and the control product (traditional) as case study. For that, a questionnaire was developed and applied, in which 102 individuals of different ages, genders and social classes took part. In addition, participants evaluated the acceptance of all versions of the fruit jellies (strawberry and guava) coded with three digit numbers (blind condition), only observing the packages and observing the packaging together with tasting the product. Results suggest that the level of consumer knowledge on diet and light products is deficient. Taking into account the label influence on product evaluation, the results indicated that the information on the version of the jam (diet, light, zero or traditional) affected the consumer product acceptance and sensory characterization. The traditional and diet strawberry jam versions were more liked by consumers when evaluated in blind; however, with information (looking at the jar of the jams) no difference was found among versions. Considering the guava jams, the traditional, light and zero versions reached higher acceptance means under informed condition when compared to blind. Differences on the frequency of mention of the sensory attributes were observed among the three evaluation conditions for the two jam flavors.

Dovolání v civilním procesu / Application for an appeal rewiev in civil procedure

Jaroš, Adam January 2018 (has links)
The Application for an appeal review in civil court proceedings is an exceptional remedy, which may brought against final decisions of the Court of appeal. Through the application for an appeal review the Supreme Court of the Czech Republic not only corrects the defects of legal decisions of courts of appeal, but at the same time it keeps an eye on the unification of the decision-making practice of the courts of appeal. The legal regulation of the application for an appeal review is contained in particular in the Code of civil procedure, as amended, and its minor styling techniques can be found also in the Act on the special legal proceedings, and in the Act on courts and judges. Due to quite complicated legislation and high procedural demands that are placed on the application for an appeal review, is this extraordinary legal remedy a frequent subject of the decisions of the Supreme and the Constitutional Court, whose conclusions are in many decisions fundamentally distinguishing. These contradictions in such conclusions often makes legal regulation of an application for an appeal review even less transparent. The Code of civil procedure lays down the fundamental prerequisites to the admissibility of the application for an appeal review and its requirements. In the preparation of the application...

Abordagens de solução para o problema de dimensionamento e sequenciamento de lotes com aceitação de pedidos / Solution approaches for lot sizing and scheduling problem with order acceptance

Barbosa, Rudivan Paixão 08 August 2019 (has links)
In this dissertation, we approach the lot sizing and scheduling problem with order acceptance. Customers demands are aggregated into orders, which may or may not be accepted and must be delivered within a time window. The items are perishable and can remain in inventory only for a limited time (shelf-life). The aim of the problem is profit maximizing generated by orders acceptance, discounting inventory and machine setups costs. To deal with this problem math formulations, constructive and improvement heuristics were proposed. Computational tests were performed and the results obtained were analyzed. The heuristics obtained superior performance then branch-and-cut of the optimization solver obtaining good quality solutions within the established time limit.

Attitudes and Perceptions of Mental Health Treatment for Native American Clients

Johnson, Beverly Elaine 01 January 2017 (has links)
The need for mental health service is increasing in American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities. While research has examined the availability, access, and effectiveness of provided services to the AI/AN, very little is known about the influence of the attitude and perceptions of both clinicians and clients in their therapeutic relationship in the treatment process. Using the frameworks of liberation, oppression, and trauma theory, this qualitative phenomenological study explored mental health service delivery and utilization issues within an AI/AN community. Data were collected through semistructured interviews with 14 clinician and client participants. The data were sorted into themes and subthemes and analyzed using the NVivo 11 computer software. Intergenerational struggle represented the primary theme and other subthemes such as assimilation, acculturation, and communication were among some of the secondary themes gathered from the data. Analysis of the themes provided greater insights into the dynamics of the participant's lived experience in various organizational structures within the larger community as well as a better understanding of mental health service delivery and utilization in maintaining sobriety in their daily struggles. The results indicated that intergenerational struggle along with other environmental factors were the chief causes of their cyclical journey through the penal and other systems; thus reducing their ability in maintaining longer sobriety and in improving their mental health. The implications for positive social change in this study include the reduction of stigma associated with these health issues through the education of the community and in training clinicians in factor-specific issues impacting life altering critical events in AI/AN struggles.

Ethnography: Understanding the Whole Child

Rodriguez, Janel 01 January 2019 (has links)
Three students were picked to be the focus students for this ethnography. The criteria used to pick the three focus students are: focus student one has to be an English language learner, focus student two student has to have an IEP or a 504 plan, and focus student three has to have had a significant life experience. Included in the ethnography are student works, analysis of assessments, and interviews with students and families. I used scholarly resources to support data, such as How to be an Effective Teacher by Harry K. Wong (2009). I discuss the effectiveness of my action plan by discussing the results of the students progression, or the need to amend the action plan. The purpose of ethnography is to get to know the student as a whole, and not through assessments. I describe students’ interests, likes and dislikes, and family life. In addition to getting to know the students, there is an in depth look at the educator, and her motivations.

Examining membership benefit preferences and donation program attitudes in an urban zoo setting

Lin Zhang (7474679) 17 October 2019 (has links)
The primary goal of this dissertation was to gain a better understanding of individuals’ membership benefits preferences and attitudes toward donation programs in the context of urban zoo settings. The first objective of this dissertation was to provide a background on membership and donation related research in the context of zoos and other relevant organizations. Based on the review of literature, the second objective was to empirically examine, through two independent studies, zoo membership benefit preferences and attitudes toward a donation program. <div><br></div><div>Despite a wealth of knowledge in the literature with respect to zoo visitors, animals, exhibits, and related programs, little research has been conducted on individuals’ preferences for zoo membership benefit packages and attitudes toward donation programs. To fill the gaps in these areas, the first empirical study examined factors that influence current and prospective members’ decision-making when choosing a membership package at an urban zoo. More specifically, the study explored preferences for selected membership program benefits and benefit levels, as well as how these preferences varied among visitors grouped by key segmentation variables. The study findings suggested that price of membership package was the most important factor, followed by the discount on food and beverage and the proportion of membership fees devoted to animal conservation. As expected, the visitors who scored high on place attachment to the zoo were more supportive of the zoo and less sensitive to variations in the specific options included in the zoo’s membership package. <br></div><div><br></div><div>In the second study, attitudes toward a donation program at an urban zoo were examined. In particular, this study investigated subgroups’ differences segmented by their membership status, place attachment levels, and attitudinal positions. A two-dimensional/bivariate attitude approach was employed to explore potential differences among attitudinal position groups. The study findings indicated while most respondents held positive attitudes toward the donation program, zoo members and nonmembers did not differ significantly. The likelihood of joining the donation program was significantly higher for those in the positive dominant attitude group compared to those in the negative dominant and equally ambivalent groups. Additionally, a qualitative analysis revealed that many respondents were concerned about the cost or affordability of the donation program; and perceived the benefits of the program as a poor value.<br></div><div><br></div><div>Collectively, the two empirical studies provide useful insight for managers and professionals charged with developing membership and donation programs in zoological parks and other relevant organizations. The study results also suggest a number of potentially productive directions for future research in these areas.<br></div><div><br></div>
