No. of bitstreams: 1 Eduardo Khater.pdf: 2528931 bytes, checksum: 764fd4049e3319adcb8804018b7de668 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2014-02-25 / A major challenge in human relationships refers to the issue of immediacy, production and uninterrupted flow of information and transformations.. Regarding this dynamic, teenagers have shown accelerated ways of being and existing, in order to cope with each other, family and the world changes . The quality of the adaptation of a teenager can be instrumental facing everyday situations. The possibility of assessing the effectiveness of adaptation achieved by adolescents may be valuable in psychological care, in that it provides a general framework of personality functioning and its resources to meet the challenges and obstacles of life . The proposal for a theory of adaptation from which the quality of the adaptation of the subject is evaluated in four areas of personality (affective- relational, productivity, sociocultural and organic) gave form to a labeled Operational Adaptive Diagnostic Scale (EDAO) scale, based on material from the clinical interview, and that was proven to be accurate and valid . In professional practice and in research settings, it is not always possible to conduct clinical interviews . A self-report version (EDAO -AR) has been developed to assess adults attending community clinics . However, adolescents face specific situations, not always covered by the scale items. The present study aimed to adapt the Operational Adaptive Diagnostic Scale (EDAO -AR) for adolescents and obtain evidence of validity and accuracy of this instrument. Items were developed consistent with the reality faced by adolescents and others adapted from EDAO-AR . The items were subjected to expert analysis and adolescents to make the first version of EDAO-AR-AD. This version was administered to 482 adolescents between 14 and 18 years of both sexes (271 M and 204 W). Were analyzed internal consistency, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. The Affective Relational Scale got 20 items divided into three factors ("focus on others", "focus on relationships" and "focus on self" respectively) and Productivity with 17 items divided in two factors ("focus on self" and "focus on the situation"). Both scales has good internal consistency (?=0.72 and ?=0.83). Confirmatory factor analysis suggests new items to the third factor of Affective Relational Scale and verifies the model designed for the scale of Productivity. Foram realizadas an?lises da consist?ncia interna, an?lise fatorial explorat?ria e an?lise fatorial confirmat?ria.

Made available in DSpace on 2014-12-17T15:38:49Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 MariaHOD_DISSERT.pdf: 873654 bytes, checksum: cf254e02723c86333cb5282f97151990 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2010-08-27 / This study investigates the applicability of the Rorschach Method for evaluating the personality of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).The relevance of this study is justified by the limited number of investigations published in the research literature concerning the use of psychological tests used for evaluating the personality of individuals with ASD. The Rorschach Method was chosen as an appropriate instrument considering it reveals the personality s basic structure, including characteristics of the affectivity, sensuality, inner life, mental resources, psychic energy and general characteristics and intellectual state of the individual. The general objective of this investigation consisted of verifying the applicability of the use the Rorschach Method in the evaluation of the characteristics of people's personality with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).The study also sought to identify perceptive factors of the personality structure of individuals with ASD, provide contributions of the understanding of this syndrome, seeking the establishment of possible therapeutic interventions starting from diagnostic by Rorschach Method. In addition, this investigation aims at verifying the adequacy of using the Rorschach Method as an instrument for evaluating the personality characteristics of individuals with ASD and its possible use in Brazil, starting from preliminary normative results. Participants consisted of 44 youngsters and adults, both genders with age range 14 - 39 years-old (average: 23.5 years-old) distributed in 2 groups. Group 1: composed with 22 youngsters and adults with clinical diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (communication impairments, social interaction deficits, restricted and repetitive interests and activities); Group 2: composed with 22 youngsters and adults with typical behavior. The participants were paired to gender and age, individually. The Mann-Whitney and Wilcoxon tests were applied to evaluate statistical differences between the groups, considering demographic and social data. The results indicate the presence of restricted interest or difficulty in the expression of the social and affective interaction of people with ASD. However, the need of broader normative studies concerning the use of personality evaluation instruments for people with ASD is warranted. These investigations could help understand the psychic dynamism of this population, offering subsidies that can be added to the current techniques of diagnosis. The Rorschach Method is susceptible to application but it is necessary to respect the individual limitations of these people and to establish more criterions about the spectrum / O presente trabalho investiga a aplicabilidade do Rorschach na avalia??o de caracter?sticas de personalidade de sujeitos com Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA).

This study aimed to investigate evidence of validity based on external variables and internal structure, as well as reliability of TISD. Participated children and adolescents of both genders, aged 6 to 16, divided into two samples: (1) Group Case: 371 from the group ?Neuro- Learning Difficulties? of the Clinical Hospital of the State University of Campinas, and 12 diagnosed, at the end of the evaluation process, with DD; (2) Group No Case: 288 children without complaints of learning difficulties, with 112 coming from private schools and 151 from public school both located in the state of S?o Paulo, and 25 students of a public school from a city in Rio Grande do Norte. The following instruments were applied: (1) TISD: evaluates academic and neuropsychological skills related to reading, consists of 8 subtests: Reading, Writing, Visual Attention, Motor Skills, Calculation, Phonological Awareness, Rapid Naming and Short-term Memory; (2) Academic Performance Test (TDE): evaluates school capacity and is composed of subtests of Reading, Writing and Arithmetic; (3) Test Bender-Gestalt (B-SPG): evaluates perceptomotora maturity, through the analysis of the distortion of fashion model figures; (4) Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, 3rd and 4th Edition (WISC-III / WISC-IV): evaluates intelligence by benchmarking cognitive abilities, that only the Digits, Cancellation and Arithmetic subtests were used. To achieve the goals, six studies were conducted. The studies of evidences of validity based on external variables relations indicated the following results: (1) age and type of school influences in total performance test; the instrument was sensitive to differentiate the performance of individuals aged six, seven and eight, with worst performing of public school; (2) the search for evidence of convergent validity, the TISD was correlated with other validated instruments for the Brazilian population (TDE; WISC III / IV; B-SPG); the results showed statistically significant and moderate correlations between the TISD subtests, Reading, Writing, Calculation, Working Memory, Motor Skills, with the TDE subtests of Reading and Writing, with the subtests Arithmetic and Digits of the WISC-IV and B-SPG, respectively, indicating convergent validity; (3) the TISD was able to differentiate the diagnosis group of DD and the group without learning difficulties complaints. The search study of evidence of validity based on the internal structure indicated a two-factor model for TISD (without the inclusion of subtest Rapid Naming) with a factor composed of neuropsychological skills (subtests of Motor Skills, Visual Attention, Phonological Awareness and Short-term Memory) and another for school skills (Reading, Writing and Calculation subtests). Precision studies indicated the following results: all items / tasks in each subtest showed significant correlations with the total result of the own subtest, ranging from moderate to strong correlations. It was found that the studies reported here indicate favorable results for the continuity of psychometric studies of TISD and contributed to the advancement of the stages of its development.

Systemic Arterial Hypertension ? SAH ? is defined as the syndrome which its main feature is the presence of high tensional levels, associated with alterations of functional or structural levels in the organs that it strikes. Its specific causes are not very well bounded and have an asymptomatic character. Due to its chronicity it requires adherence to the treatment plan in a systematic and permanent manner, implicating in lifestyle changes, combined or not with the use of medication. The personality inventories have been largely used in the lineation of indicative traits of difficulties with the adherence to the treatment. In this sense, developed by Theodore Millon, the Millon Behavioural Medicine Diagnostic ? MBMD is an instrument made from the consensus among healthcare professionals, aiming at identifying psychological factors that may compromise medical treatment so that they can be conducted in a way to enable a better adherence. Objective: evaluation of the evidence of validity of the Millon Behavioural Medicine Diagnostic ? MBMD for a public of patients with hypertension, aiming at investigating the indicators implicated in the adherence or not to the anti-hypertensive treatment. Method: there was a group of 200 participants in a university hospital in the city of Natal/RN, males and females, ranging from 20 to 70 years old. An interview protocol was administered in order to obtain information about socio-demographic data, clinical history, healthcare habits and way of conducting treatment, and after, the administration of the MBMD followed. Results: by means of Factor Analysis it was verified that the organization proposed by the factors is favorable and it adjusts to the theory, allowing the visualization of other underlying constructs to the scales, with adequate adjustment indexes and satisfactory Cronbach?s alpha indicators. Besides, the MBMD revealed itself sensitive to the intragroup differences relative to the sex, age, schooling, marital status, profession, income, SAH history, diagnostic time, medication use, comorbidity presence, hyposodic diet, social support and adherence criteria variables. The utilization of such instrument in the evaluation of the adherence to the anti-hypertensive treatment show, therefore, indicators of validity.

There are many controversies regarding its form of interpretation and its validity of the emotional indicators presented by the test. The objective of this study was to investigate the evidences of validity of the Human Figure Drawing (HFD) as an emotional measure. The sample consisted of 310 children, 173 of the regular group, 82 of the clinical group and 55 of the regular / problem group. The regular group comprised of children attending public elementary schools, the clinical group for children attended by two private clinics in the State of S?o Paulo, coming from both public school and private school, and the regular group / problem by school children indicated by those responsible as having behavioral problems, but did not go through psychological care. The instruments used were: Identification card elaborated by the researcher, DFH evaluated by the system of emotional difficulties, Multidimensional Scale of Life Satisfaction for Children (EMSVC) and Positive Affect Scale and Negative. Data were analyzed through Pearson's Correlation, Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The results indicated that the variable group was significant only for the emotional indicators in the HFD. The correlations between the emotional indicators in the HFD were negative as expected between the total female figure and the positive self factor of the infant life satisfaction scale (r = -, 174; p?0.01), and with the factor of positive school (r = -, 161; p?0.01). In the total of the male figure, similar significant relationships were found, with positive self factors (r = -, 176, p?0.01) and positive schooling (r = -, 173; p?0.01). In the positive and negative affect scale only the sex/group interaction in the fact of negative affect had a significant influence (F=3,367; p?0,05), and in the income variable in Negative affect (F=3,978; p?0,01). In the Multidimensional Scale of Life Satisfaction for Children and in the Positive and Negative Affect Scale, we can see that the results are affected by income, that is, contextual indicators. It is concluded that the emotional HFD screening system is a valid measure and can be used in children's psychodiagnosis.

The first study used the instrument Creative and Thinking Styles (2003) with the Pillars of Resiliency Scales test (Cardoso & Martins, 2013) in a sample of 134 subjects, with 64% (n = 86) of female participants, aged between 18 and 65 years (M = 32.27 and DP = 11.75). The second study used once more Pillars of Resiliency Scales test (2013) and the test Thinking Creatively with Words-Torrance Tests (Wechsler, 2006) in a sample of 101 subjects, with 66% (n = 67) of female participants, between the ages of 18 and 65 years old. The results of the study 1 showed positive and significant correlations between all the pillars of resiliency and the Nonconformist-Transformer Style, as well as negative correlations in the majority of the pillars of resiliency with the Cautious-Reflective Style. In study 2, no significant correlations were displayed between the creative measures offered by Torrance and the pillars of resiliency. We discuss the possible relationship found in results between qualitative and quantitative measures of creativity and its affinity with resilience, and finally, we suggest further studies should be conducted with other instruments that assess other resiliency models.

As the Core Conflictual Relationship Them- CCRT the CRQ is divided in three subscales: Wishes (W); Responses from Other (RO), and Responses of Self (RS). The aim of this study was to investigate the internal consistency and the convergent and discriminant validities of the Brazilian version of the CRQc6.0 in coronary patients. Method: The Sample included 40 coronary patients (1G) and 30 people of the community (2G). When compared to the 2G participants of 1G were older (average age 58 vs. 37 years old), predominantly composed by men (65% vs. 43,3%), with lower scholarship level (65% - less of 5 years vs. 47% - complete high school). Instruments: The CRQ 6.0 and the Escala de Sintomas Psicopatol?gicos- EAS-40, a measure of psychopathological symptoms according to the following dimensions: psychoticism (F1), obsessivity-compulsivity(F2), somatization (F3) and anxiety (F4).Results: Results suggested: good internal consistency of CRQ 6.0 (?>0,80) in both groups excepting to RO (?=0,58) in 1G; no significant association between the CRQ 6.0 dimensions and the EAS-40 dimensions in 1G p>0,05); significant association between RO and psychoticism, and between RE and psychoticism, RE and obsessivity-compulsivity; RE and somatization and RE and EAS-total (p<0,01). The discriminant validity analyses between the 1G and 2G pointed to significant differences to the W (p=0,018) and RE (p=0,026) dimensions. Future researches should involve more representative and paired samples. It is still suggested that measures of levels of alexithymia and depression are evaluated.

Due to the specific characteristics of communication among adolescents in conflict with the law, concerning the use of slang expressions and unusual verbal sentences; an adaptation of the narrative styles dictionary which is being developed for the Portuguese language is required to use this instrument with this public. Aim - To develop a customized dictionary for TCM to adolescents assisted by a community educational program in Campinas, Brazil. Methods - The same process that has already been applied to develop other standardized dictionaries was adopted: 1. Emotion-abstraction lists of words will be compiled from transcripts of interviews with teenagers and the rap lyrics of songs; 2. The lists of words were classified according to the following categories: positive emotion (1); negative emotion (2); abstraction (3); both, positive and abstraction (4); both, negative and abstraction (5). Four judges assed independently the words in question and reached a degree of agreement among j them. Results: The results suggest that the standard dictionary of the program is able to identify important emotional themes, but the development of custom dictionaries is a relevant contribution to the identification of clinically significant moments of the speech of adolescents in conflict with the law.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Juliana Tavares Guzzon.pdf: 1553774 bytes, checksum: 7018a9210b3d18b53715613ea49ac9d5 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2011-02-22 / Pontif?cia Universidade Cat?lica de Campinas / According to World Health Organization, violence is a global problem that affects families of all cultures, ethnicities, politics, economics and political regimes. Women victims of violence are assisted by different institutions with different types of intervention: legal, psychological, social and / or medical. However, the quality and extent of changes that is presented, as a result of assistance provided, are not always recognized. The aim of this study was to evaluate the psychological aspects of women who are victim of violence in relation to the changing stage, the quality of adaptive effectiveness and severity of psychopathological symptoms in women victims of violence before being assisted by SOS Action Woman and Family and compare them to those women who have already been assisted by the institution. Methodologically the study used a randomized cross-sectional type, which is based on a comparison between two groups at different stages of a developmental process. The sample comprised of Group G1 (pre-assistance) with nine women in the initial phase of treatment, average age = 36.7, DP = 8.68, and a Group G2 (pos assistance) of nine women who had already completed treatment, average age=41, DP=11.28. They were evaluated individually with the rating scale of symptoms - EAS-40, Stage of Change Scale - EEM and Operational Adaptive Diagnostic Scale Redefined - EDAO-R. All were victims of repeated physical and psychological aggression, on average 11 years ago, perpetrated by intimate partners. Both groups were in the stages of change Pre-contemplation (lack of awareness of the problem and motivation to face it) and contemplation (acknowledges the problem but has no motivation to face it) according to the EEM. Psychopathological symptoms assessed with the EAS-40 had remained high even after the treatments. The participants of the Group post-assistance displayed adaptation between effective and moderately ineffective, while among the group of pre-assistance predominated severe or serious adaptations. The participants arrived at the institution with multiple impairments, in a confused mental state, not knowing what to do or whom to call, besides feeling skeptical of any possible treatment. The severity of the conflicts they face suggests the need for weekly psychological treatment for the long term (estimated at a minimum of one year) in order to restore self-esteem, self-confidence and overcoming profound cultural values which prevents them from overcoming the condition of victimization to which they are subjected to.

Desenvolvimento de vers?o da Escala Diagn?stica Adaptativa para Atletas (EDAO-AR-A) / Development of a version of the Adaptive Diagnostic Scale for Athletes (EDAO-AR-A)

Peixoto, Evandro Morais 18 December 2012 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-04-04T18:28:07Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Evandro Morais Peixoto.pdf: 1971890 bytes, checksum: aa3ca46eafe7db3c33a633eabf6bea92 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2012-12-18 / Ever since the effective introduction of psychology professionals into sporting teams, they have encountered demands to evaluate the subjects involved in this area, particularly athletes. Accordingly, the need for these professionals to avail themselves of psychological evaluation tools that are capable of assisting them in this task, has become increasingly imperative. However, the lack of valid tools imposes significant limitations on these professionals. This lack is, at the same time, a challenge to psychology as well as a field of investigation that is still open to researchers in this area. In the 1970s, a scale was developed in Brazil by Ryad Simon, known as the Operational Adaptive Diagnostic Scale (EDAO), to evaluate adaptive efficiency. It is based on the concept that adaptive efficiency represents the ability of a subject to cope with life s trials and tribulations. Data on the subject are obtained by way of a clinical interview. The EDAO has already proved to be valid for different strata of the clinical and non-clinical population. A self-report version, to evaluate the effectiveness of adaptation of patients in community clinics, is under development and has been provisionally assigned the acronym EDAO-AR. This study proposes the development of a version of the EDAO-AR for the evaluation of athletes, as well as examining some of its proof of validity. The study has evolved in two stages: a) adaptation of the EDAO-AR and the construction of new items; analysis of content by (specialist) judges; and a semantic analysis of the items by athletes in different sports and with different levels of schooling; b) estimate of the internal consistency of the items, distributed by factor and for the scale as a whole, evaluated using Cronbach s alpha coefficient; the MSA and KMO indices were also evaluated and finally, the dimensionality of the scales was checked by means of exploratory factorial analysis. The sample comprised 219 athletes from the following categories of sport: Athletics, Basketball, Indoor Soccer, Swimming, Rugby and Volleyball, enrolled in their respective federations in the youth and adult categories. Assuming that the adaptation of the subjects is examined based on the suitability demonstrated in the Affection-Relation (AR) and Productivity (Pr) sectors, the items were built and evaluated separately, each set of items being regarded as a different tool. The final scale was made up of 41 items, 19 for the evaluation of the AR sector and 22 for the evaluation of Pr. The results show that the AR scale and the Pr scale both evaluate the quality of adaptation in accordance with three dimensions: Self-control, Interpersonal relationships and Coping. It is suggested that there is a need to develop new items for the AR scale in order to achieve higher indices of internal consistency for the overall scale, as well as for the respective factors. Finally, the need to use both the scales in the evaluation of the adaptive configuration of athletes should be stressed.
