När yrket blir ett kall : En kvalitativ studie om hur vocational awe manifesteras hos mångspråksbibliotekarier på folkbibliotek / When the profession becomes a calling : A qualitative study of how vocational awe manifests in multilingual librarians working in public libraries

Bakkejord, Sandra, Zandi, Medya January 2022 (has links)
The study aims to examine how vocational awe manifests in the attitudes and beliefs expressed by multilingual librarians and how they relate to their own and others' expectations in working with multiculturalism and multilingualism. The empirical material consists of six semi-structured interviews with multilingual librarians from different parts of Sweden. The empirical data were analysed using a theoretical framework based on Fobazi M. Ettarh's theory of vocational awe. Five themes were identified from the study's empirical data. The analysis of the result shows that vocational awe manifests in all interviewees and is mainly manifested through self-sacrificial tendencies when working with multilingualism and multiculturalism. The interviewees' self-sacrificial tendencies are catalysed by high expectations to legitimise their professional role as multilingual librarians. The study's key findings show that vocational awe is strongly manifested in multilingual librarians. Furthermore it is particularly challenging for multilingual librarians to draw boundaries between personal life and professionalism, which is catalysed by working with the target group.

An analysis of the emotions of anger and fear in the undisputed Pauline letters

Rowe, Rose Maisy 29 June 2017 (has links)
In the 1980s, in the discipline of Classical studies in the field of Greco-Roman philosophy, the scholars showed renewed interest in the subject of the emotions. The outcome of their research reinstated the cognitive function in emotions. The research also recognised that the values and beliefs in the emotions are culturally conditioned. This outcome opened the possibility of discovering the values of a culture by analysing the emotions. Another outcome of the research showed that the interpretation of a lexical term, designating an emotion, did not necessarily imply the same meaning universally. The knowledge of the emotions in this discipline influenced numerous branches of academic study. It was noted that this did not apply to New Testament studies and therefore became an opportunity for a research subject, namely: An Analysis of Emotions of Anger and Fear in the Undisputed Pauline letters. The purpose was to determine their meanings within the context of Imperial Roman values. The analysis was based on Aristotle's definition of anger and fear. This approach also required a study of social conditions in the provincial Roman cities in which Paul had formed communities. The study was dependent on the emotional language used by Paul in his undisputed letters. Louw-Nida New Testament Greek-English Lexicon based on Semantic Domains was used to locate the words that expressed the emotional concepts of anger and fear. The essence of the research problem was to discover the meaning of the emotions in the undisputed Pauline letters in the first century CE. / Religious Studies and Arabic / D. Litt. et Phil. Bibliotek för alla? : En kvalitativ innehållsanalys av Demokratins skattkammare utifrån ett intersektionellt perspektiv / Library for all? : A qualitative content analysis of The Treasure Trove of Democracy based on an intersectional perspective

Bergquist, Lo, Svensson, Malin January 2020 (has links)
The purpose of this bachelor’s thesis is to examine the libraries' view of their own role and its relation to democracy, to identify any obstacles to the library's mission on being an inclusive public space. We do this through a qualitative content analysis, based on intersectional theory, on the proposal for a National Strategy for Libraries, The Treasure Trove of Democracy. We conclude that depictions of libraries and librarianship represented in the empirical material limits the ability to break down discriminatory structures within the institution.

Graham, Émile 08 1900 (has links)
Between the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century, William Blake (1757-1827), a romantic artist and poet, produced various illuminated works which unite text, images, and decorations set in the margins of the page. This thesis considers the iconography of these works, attempting to understand their visual motifs through the theoretical standpoint of “alterity”, a composite notion uniting three meanings: infinitude, or a quality of limitlessness; distinction, or the difference of what is “other”; and extension, suggesting a motion outside the self. The different chapters exemplify how this notion of “alterity” relates to contemporary and romantic theoretical constructs. Among the subjects considered are: “alterity” in itself, the significance of Blakean visual form, the sublime and the experience of awe, the representation of the body and of gender, and the relationship to the natural world. The thesis considers the Blakean iconography as a reflection of the imagination, guiding the reader towards a heightened capacity for vision and subjectivity. The “marginalium”, the decorative marginal element of the illustrated books, symbolizes such vision by a punctual means. The “floating figure”, a humanized and singular marginalium, underlies the different motifs, evoking the infinitude of human potential.

An airports’ need of change to go 100% green using an energy storage system and solar power : Integration of energy storage system and photovoltaics to an existing system

Törnberg, Carl January 2022 (has links)
This thesis explores what Karlstad Airport needs to go 100% green. Photovoltaics are assumed to be installed at the facility and a Hydrogen Energy Storage System and Battery Energy Storage System will be evaluated to reduce peaks during charging of the planes. Different power peak limits are explored as well as different sized Energy Storage Systems and later evaluated economically. A method to find the cheapest possible system is created with some assumptions and is then used to evaluate throughout the whole dataset. In the end any of the different sized Energy Storage Systems reduces the profitability when considering each systems expected lifecycle.

LAVORO AUTONOMO E INTERESSI COLLETTIVI: RAPPRESENTANZA, ORGANIZZAZIONE E AZIONE SINDACALE DI TUTELA / Self-Employment and Collective Interests: Representation, Organization and Trade Union Action

FERRARIO, SUSANNA 18 February 2008 (has links)
The search starts with the reconstruction of socio-economic processes. Moving from these reflections, it's possible to see that today's companies take advantage of increasingly self-employed coordinated and continuous and, after d.lgs. 276/2003 “lavoratori a progetto”. These employees are, therefore, subject to a power (contractual) coordination of the customer that, at times, it adds up to a state of economic dependence by the same. It then creates an internal differentiation into autonomy area that does not seem properly valued by the ordinary legislator, but that seems to involve trade unions. Given that in reality there are different representations, we move to circumscribe the scope of applicability of the Arts. 39 and 40 Const. The absence of a genuine interest and genuine self activities suggest that employees "strong" and its associations can only benefit from the protections posed by Arts. 2, 18 and 41 Const. At the end tackling the problems so that the reconstruction turn raises, namely how to ensure the effectiveness of the safeguards recognized unionism collaborators "weak" and reconcile the associations of employees "strong" with the antitrust law.
