Den uppsökande verksamheten vid Partille folkbibliotek / Extension work at Partille Public Library

Ekman, Eva January 1996 (has links)
The aim of this essay is to give a picture of the extension work at Partille Public Library, asit is today, as well as to investigate if there is a need to reconsider the way of working at thelibrary.Qualitative interviews have been made with the extensive librarians and certain local governmentpoliticians, borrowers and personnel at hospitals as well as other institutions. The extension work at Partille Public Library corresponds quite well to the intentions whichare stated for the work in certain important investigations made by the Government. Theborrowers and the personnel are quite satisfied with the work and are only pointing out a fewviews on changes. The politicians mean that the aim of the extension work of the library ison one hand to give service to certain more or less neglected groups and on the other handto reach new book readers.

Boken kommer : förmedling och bemötande. / The shut-in service : mediating and interaction.

Eriksson, Ida January 2010 (has links)
My aim is to examine the special form of interaction between users of the shut-in service and the responsible librarians. My purpose is to examine how mediating of literature can be pictured in correlation with shut-in services. How do librarians describe their experiences of the shut-in service? What roles of mediating can be perceived? How can interaction interpreted in the context of the shut-in service? The material was acquired by doing qualitative interviews of five librarians who works with shut-in service. This study is based on the theory of Åse Kristine Tveit. Her model of mediating and her theory on the roles of mediating are the bases of my analysis. My conclusion is that librarians find it difficult to market their visiting work and that their relationship with shut-in service users is particular.

Kommer boken? : uppsökande verksamhet för funktionshindrade på Uddevalla stadsbibliotek – en organisationsstudie / Does the book come? : The housebound service for the disabled at the City Library of Uddevalla – a study of organisation

Broberg, Anita, Frank, Annika January 2000 (has links)
The purpose of this Master Thesis is to investigate the quality of the library service at the City Library of Uddevalla. In particular this thesis will examine the quality of the library service to people who are disabled. This applies particularly to the service to people with reduced ability to move or to see, which also includes people with infirmities due to old age. We also have investigated how well the library itself is adapted to the disabled. In order to get more information about the library service to people who are disabled, we have studied literature on this subject and the Master Thesis contains a summary of those documents. The study is based on interviews, visits, document and literature studies. As a theoretical starting point for our discussion, we have used Total Quality Management and Goal Steering. The chief outcome of the analysis is, that disabled people get a good service, when visiting the library. Those who are housebound also get a good service. But the work is performed in a rather unstructured way. Those who live in institutions would however need more personal and perhaps individual attention. In order to create a more effective utilization of the resources, the library ought to frame distinct strategies and goals. They would also need to carry out evaluations and adjustments of their services. / Uppsatsnivå: D

Synliggörandet av Boken kommer : den visuella marknadsföringen och synen på de äldre användarna / The visibility of Boken kommer : the Visual marketing and the view of the older user

Skoglund, Madeleine January 2022 (has links)
Mass media can affect people how we view the world and its population and it can thus create stereotypes. Today, older people are healthier and live longer than they did twenty years ago, and this can lead to them living a more active life. Libraries today need to change their view of the older user in order to be able to offer the right service. The purpose of this survey is to, through an image analysis, study how public libraries in Sweden visually market the library service Boken kommer, which is a special shut-in service where the library staff delivers literature and other media to the users in their own home, and how the older users are portrayed in the images on Instagram. What relationships are expressed in connection with the marketing of the library service and in what way is the older user embodied?  With the help of relationship marketing, different relationships were identified that were embodied in the visual images and with the support of the concept ageism, stereotypes could be identified in the material. The results showed that it is literature and the personal contact with the librarians that stand out and that the healthy elderly is a frequent stereotype that is conveyed though marketing.
