The present work carries out a re-reading of the Manifesto of the New Education Pioneers (1932) in order to capture the influences in its text of the bourgeois Revolution in Brazil, that is, the formation of new subjectivities called by the maturation of the capitalist mode of production, as well as its non-classic character. For that purpose, the work consists of an ontological approach of the educational sphere aiming at showing its peculiarities in relation to its functions for the social reproduction. The Manifesto of 32 was analyzed considering the context in which it was created and the role assigned by the signatories of the document, who assigned to themselves, through the disclosure of this document, the mission of reforming society through the modification of educational guidelines based on scientific bases. Glimpsing in the State the central agent of the transformation of society by education, the New Education Pioneers proposed a new social theleology, which entailed the necessary referrals that Brazil needed to become a modern country. On the other hand, this social reform idealized by the education would be carried out in order to innovate educational practices through the reproduction of old social structures, whose aim was to modernize at the same time as harmonizing the social fabric through education.

No. of bitstreams: 1 arquivototal.pdf: 2042760 bytes, checksum: a1c388ab4eb342bf3e290a492e1117d5 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2013-09-27 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / The study presented here focuses the reproduction of conservatism in Social Work with a focus on ways that conservatism is expressed in the professional practice of social workers linked the Municipal Social Welfare and Citizenship (SEMASC) in Aracaju-SE. To understand the extent to which relationships and rationalities conservative has characterized the field of professional practice of social workers, was adopted as the analytical reference method contained in marxist philosophy. The approach used in this research was predominantly qualitative, while quantitative privilege. The survey sample was non -probabilistic intentional, accessibility, consisting of 23 social workers gazetted. The survey results showed that social workers SEMASC has been unable to perform a satisfactory objective professional intervention in institutions, in order to distance himself from the conservatism that nourishes the logic of the bourgeois order. They also showed that the lack of working conditions of social workers SEMASC for policy implementation is seen in the dismantling of the social assistance network as well as social policies and for this disarticulation, professionals tend to reduce their timely action to meet, the demands of palliative users, which ultimately promotes the maintenance of bourgeois rationality. It was also found that the lack of working conditions and implementation of social welfare policy in Aracaju has impacted on how to contact social workers with the users, since it has been reduced to the attendance of the daily demands of emergency or immediate users. It found the effort and commitment of social workers surveyed with continuing vocational training and permanent, and that they have an understanding of the importance and contribution of academic training for professional practice in order to offer subsidies through the theoretical collection for reflection you can situate the practice. It was concluded that, given the results of the study (field research and literature), social workers surveyed demonstrated clearly the elements that collaborate to a practice that intends to be critical and, indeed, the speech of the majority of these professionals transpires attempt to distance himself from the conservative aspects that marked the genesis of profession. However , it appears that conservatism - as an expression of the bourgeois order ideocultural - remains reproducing within the various spheres of social life in capitalism (social relations , class , state , form of knowledge, institutions , social organizations , social policies) regardless awareness that social workers have about the processes that have determined its reproduction, or in spite of his criticism of conservatism and attempt to break ensured the principles and fundamentals of PEPSS.

It is a sociology of education study that falls within the line of research Fundamentals of Educational Process of PPGE. The fundamental theoretical basis are the studies of Florestan Fernandes, especially his sociological essay: The Bourgeois Revolution in Brazil: a sociological interpretation essay. With this scope, the social and historical mediations are analyzed into the itinerary of Bourgeois Revolution in Brazil until the Coup d'etat orchestrated by the military on April 1, 1964. In this historical course that involves Bourgeois Revolution and the history os Adults Education in Brazil, are considered the links that constitute the ―EDA‖ as a indispensable nexus of the bourgeois project in Brazil. In this way is understood reciprocity between Adult Education and the course of Bourgeois Revolution in Brazil. Therefore, they compete mainly the development of a country's economy and dependent market, a national development project subject to the advanced capitalist nations and an interventionist trend state "Bonapartist" determined by imperialism as a means of domination of international capital in the peripheral nations. In this context dominates a training project and specialization of the working class that aims to reduce education to: i) literacy, countering illiteracy to literacy and postulating education as resolution of social issues and interdicting, whenever necessary and possible, the role of the working class ; and, ii) an operational education, devoid of meaning and knowledge of the rudiments of the productive forces, which deepens the alienation of the worker against the object of his work and face to himself. On the other hand, the establishment and development of the working class calls into question this filing and, contradictorily, challenges the conditions and possibilities for their emancipation. This contradiction, due to the capital of the company's development, creates and recreates the proposal EDA retaining their contradictory historical basis, expressed mainly by political / Este trabalho postula a tese de que a Educação de Adultos é um nexo da Revolução Burguesa no Brasil.

We have analyzed one hundred and five short stories written by Lima Barreto between 1904-1922, being possible to identify determinations of bourgeois society on elements that address the work in the First Brazilian Republic social rise and unemployment; the tension between the traditional way and modern way of life, progress and republican organization; the scientific knowledge, formal education and social inequality; sexual and emotional relationships. The narratives refer to the incorporation of new habits applied on reshaping the city spaces which seem modern and industrialized, offering elements to reflect on the body education processed at the time. By the enrichness of characters, physical spaces, conflict and theme, Lima Barreto’s tales unveil the contradictions of bourgeois society and draw criticism of the scientific model that supports body education processes cultivated in this society, allowing reflections beyond the apparent reality.

A educação da "miséria" = particularidade capitalista e educação superior no Brasil / The education of the "misery" : particular capitalist and higher education in Brazil

Abstract: This study examines the relationship between changes in the higher education and capitalist development in Brazil. Based on Marxist theory and historical analysis, it is argued that the interests of dominant classes within the conditions of Brazilian particularity did not become indispensable autonomous forms of higher education. The bourgeois revolution unfolded according conservative standards, not reproducing classical forms and, thereby, giving rise to a kind of higher education also conservative and elitist. The first part of the study (chapters 1 and 2) examines this development process under particular conditions, linking Brazil with the global development of capitalist mode of production. The second part (chapters 3, 4 and 5) examines the determinations of this particularity in education, especially in higher education. This analysis covers the period from 68?higher education reforms to contemporary reforms, which marks the historical quarter closing of bourgeois revolution of colonial extraction. With this, higher education tends to (re)fit the patterns of imperialistic domination and subordination to the interests of capital. / Doutorado / Filosofia e História da Educação / Doutor em Educação

Možnosti ekonomického růstu nejchudších zemí / Economic growth possibilities of the poorest countries

Hrubý, Vít January 2009 (has links)
The thesis deals with the topic of economic growth of the poor, least developed countries. For this group of countries, which includes most of sub-Saharan Africa, is characteristic that for the last half-century this group has shown no significant economic growth per capita. This fact is surprising at first glance if compared with other economic development groups of the developing world. Economic differences between the least developed countries on the one hand, and emerging and developing countries on the other hand, are increasing despite efforts by international development agencies. I intend to answer the question, what are the causes of poor economic performance of the least developed countries.

I väntan på hufvudpersonen : Identitet och identifikation i svensk skämtbild 1870-1900 / Waiting for the main character : Identity and identification in Swedish cartoons 1870–1900

Rossholm, Elisa January 2016 (has links)
In the decades around 1900, political and social cartoons flourished in humour and satire magazines in the Swedish capital. The thesis presents a new theoretical start on the nature of humour in cartoons: the idea of the comical is argued as effects of reality notions and bracketing reality notions. The theory is a prerequisite for understanding the mechanisms of the identity play performed in the comic scenes. The thesis pursues a search for the object or the character with whom the intended recipient was expected to identify, referred to as the “the main character”. The analysis is based on a kind of theatrical construction, where the real city, its pleasures, secrets and dangers constitute the material for the image’s scenes. The characters in the scenes act out the dangers and ambiguities that the city’s bourgeois man faced. The material of the study consists of social cartoons from the two Stockholm-based magazines Söndags-Nisse and Kasper between 1870 and 1900. About a hundred of them are reproduced in the thesis.  The analysis builds on three theoretical perspectives: theories on images; humour; and identity constructions. By integrating theories on humour with image analysis, the thesis highlights the ambivalence and ambiguity of identity aspects. Relationships and characters explored through the image elements are given as headlines for the chapters: the room; the body; and the act. The study shows how a male and bourgeois hegemony invents image expressions, main characters, and plots that offer the recipient protection against being laughed at and against the danger of mistakes. The analysis shows that four strategies to represent the bourgeois man are frequent: as the “fuzzy man”; as the caricature of the bourgeois man; as the stereotype; and as the “unfettered man”. The various figures offer more or less possibilities of identification versus distancing. The pictures’ expressions of uncertainties – in terms of vague or fuzzy lines; self-irony; or avoiding being singled out – all these means provide distance, in relation to the picture content, the issues that concerned the intended recipient, whether it is about the difficulty of distinguishing the public body from the forbidden, or about general human conditions.

The Image of the Middle-classes in the works of I. Kondylakis, G. Xenopoulos and C. Theotokis between the late 19th and early 20th centuries : pedagogical analysis and presentation of this literary material

Spanodimos, Philippos 05 December 2009 (has links)
Persuaded of the pedagogical interest of literature in the acquisition of the basics by Greek pupils and with the aim of making this subject compulsory, I have examined three authors from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, I. Kondylakis, G. Xenopoulos and C. Theotokis and their representations of members of the middle classes. Ways of life, both in professional and family spheres as well as the behaviour of the elites of Athens, Corfu and Zante whose adventures they recite, reveal the varied nature of this class, its prerogatives and its values. It is thus possible to see that the middle classes of this period paid attention to their appearance as a way of demonstrating their opulence and their power and that marriage, which was often arranged and motivated by self-interest ensured social recognition. Nevertheless, both upper and lower middle classes paid attention to birth control to protect their assets and to prepare the future of their children during a period that was both politically and economically unstable. Despite some distortions and borrowings from French authors, the attachment of these writers to their country and their wish to prick the consciousness by criticising the evils that damage it are noticeable. While offering a new light on this period, their works invite us to reconsider the place of cultural literature in school curricula. Some extracts, grouped together based on themes, commented and accompanied by various exercises show that these texts are accessible to young pupils and are very enriching on condition that the teacher is familiar with and understands the body of work and adapts it to his or her class.
