The South African legislative response to cybercrime

Mabunda, Sagwadi Mmahlatse January 2021 (has links)
Doctor Educationis / As the world moves into a hyper-connected global society with near universal access to the internet, cybercrime has become a global challenge. The problems embedded in the issue of cybercrime are at least twofold. Firstly, the proliferation of cybercrime globally, and more specifically in South Africa, is outstripping the pace at which governments and lawmakers are able to respond efficiently. Secondly, where governments do manage to respond, there is a temptation to do so on the basis of a superficial understanding of the essence of cybercrime. There are many debates about the novelty of cybercrime in which participants have described it as “old wine in new skin”. This study takes the position that cybercrime is neither completely novel nor is it merely a virtual manifestation of the ordinary terrestrial crimes. The premise of this research is that cybercrime is an interesting and unique form of criminality that manifests itself in a number of challenging ways. These manifestations need to be considered independently and comprehensively if effective countermeasures are to be devised. This is not to say that every single offence has to be considered critically. That would be impracticable. It would suffice that certain types of cybercrimes be classified differently from other types, so as not to paint all with the same brush.

Vaikų turinčių cerebrinį paralyžių fizinis ir funkcinis pajėgumas / Assessment of physical and functional capable for children with cerebral

Dambrauskaitė, Rasa 03 September 2010 (has links)
[toliau žr. visą tekstą] / Topic relevance: Cerebral Palsy (CP) – non-progressive brain violation, which develops during Prenatal, Perinatal, Neonatal, Post-natal period. Muscle weakness, uncoordinated movements and/or other motor function disorders are the state of the immature brain sufferers of CP. Movements, such as lying, sitting, tumbling, hiking, are malfunctioning for those who has CP. Muscle tone of the child (that relates to balance and coordination problems) can be decreased or increased. CP often comes along with motor (movement) control, muscle strength, sensory integration, and movement planning problems as well as physical and functional capacity weakness. Physical capacity and activity are the main stimulus of the body whilst growing. Each and every movement optimizes not only motor movements, but also psychological and social pubescence. It is important that those who have CP would have an ability to achieve and aim same physical and functional ability exactly the same like those who progress and develop normally. Participants of the research: 10 children with CP. Questions to research: what is the physical capacity of those who have CP? What is the functional capacity? What is the connection amongst CP physical and functional capacity? Hypothesis made out of those questions: it is believed that CP functional capacity is depends on the physical capacity. Object of the research – physical and functional capacity. Aim of the research – find out the physical and functional capacity of... [to full text]

Danielsson, Karin, Pettersson, Ebba January 2021 (has links)

Arab, Farah January 2010 (has links)
This thesis focuses on the design and the evaluation of the assistive technological solutions dedicated to the aging people. It is based on a framework which proposes a developmental approach of the aging subject. Our research is composed of three main objectives. The first objective is to improve the knowledge of the aging people (with or without cognitive impairments) problems of activity limitations and participation restrictions in society. The second objective is to preserve (or to develop) the empowerment of the persons with and without cognitive impairment, during the daily activities. Finally, the third objective is to enrich the subject model considered in the design. In this research, the design challenge exceeds the compensation and the slowing down of the individual state deterioration. It aims to preserve the residual individual capabilities and to propose the resources for an adequate fallback and the individual capabilities and empowerment development. Our work is based on a multidisciplinary, participatory and user centered design approach. We use ergonomics knowledge to improve the human-machines interactions, psychological knowledge to analyze acceptability and appropriation of the technical assistive devices, and technical knowledge to develop assistive technologies.

A dynamic study of using TOC to explore developing ATP/CTP mechanism in continuous production industry

Ko, Yao-hsiung 10 August 2011 (has links)
Face the change of globalization business, business opportunities far and wide. In contrast, corporate challengers, is no longer just a regional rival, but the strong competitors from different countries. Now, although the market is large, but also a substantial growth of the overall market supply, the supply quickly exceeded demand. In saturated markets, companies how to overcome or co-competitors to grab a larger market share, profit? For enterprises, existence of the business mission is to provide products, services, customers. Without customers, there is no demand, companies will not be able to survive. Therefore, in addition to providing standard, high quality products, we must be able to respond more quickly to customer needs, get the trust and improve customer satisfaction. Enterprise subject to different tangible and intangible constraints, How to play the best of ability, flexibility and rapid response to customer demand among the existing constraints? Improve operational efficiency, reduce inventory costs, efficient delivery and with the best service in the competition for maximum profit. This study base on many constraints in the continuous industry using thought tool of theory of constraints to break the bottleneck and response customer's demand. Through the ERP combined with ATP / CTP mechanism to improve the order promising process. Effectively improve service efficiency, shorten customer product delivery, while enhancing the overall supply chain efficiency, enhance corporate competitiveness and profitability.

Tankar om pedagogrollen : en vetenskaplig essä om vad som utmärker en god pedagog i dagens förskola / Thoughts about the Teacher role : – a Scientific Essay on what Makes a Good Preschool Teacher Today

Carlsson, Anna January 2011 (has links)
In this essay I reflect on what makes a good preschool teacher today. I discuss the importance of education, the importance of experience and practical knowledge, but also the importance of capacity for self-reflection and listening. I bring up examples from my workplace, where some think more about their limitations than on what and how much they actually can. Others are more satisfied by what they can and see less of their limits. Some are also lack of the will to see differently and to do changes. We also have different perceptions of the norms and values enshrined in our childhood. What we're from, our various social, cultural and an ethnic background also plays a role in the understanding and the interpretations we make in various situations. I discuss the teacher as a profession and the importance of education, that it is not enough only with experience, it needs to be supplemented with educational and theoretical knowledge to assess, identify, weigh and deliberate well to act as needed in the present moment. Teacher is about to be. Being a good teacher in practice, have practical knowledge. I also discuss the importance of self-reflection. Without the mirror it is only a mirror image without a reflective approach. The good teacher, the more I think, the more I realize that there is no simple answer.

This thesis is the study of the use of textbooks by students and professors of a undergraduate degree in physics from a Brazilian public university. Through the knowledge of historical-cultural theory and activity theory, more specifically of the concepts of more capable partner and activity, we analyze the data constituted in semi-structured interviews with the subjects of search. The concepts mentioned allowed, under the method of discursive textual analysis, to analyze the characteristics and the form of interaction between students and textbooks, enabling us to answer the following research questions: what is the role of the textbooks in the teaching and learning in the degree course in physics, according to the point of view of professors and students? What do the textbooks represent, regarding the effectiveness of the teaching and learning relationship, for professors and students and how do these subjects understand their use of these materials? From the analysis of the interviews we conclude that despite the characterization of textbooks as a more capable partner for professors and students, the latter end up performing, at some point in the formative process, actions alienated with the books due to demands and charges existing in the context of the disciplines, which detracts from the students appropriation of knowledge. For this reason, the critical reflection of the professors about the conduct of the college subjects and the orientation of the students’ performance with the textbooks is necessary, for a possible decision in response to the difficulties encountered by the students during the teaching and learning process.
