(Physical activity and sports for adults in the county of Västerbotten – opportunities and challenges for a future activity directory). Bachelor Essay in Swedish. Umeå: Umeå university, Department of Education. Abstract This paper originates from the need to organize all physical activities in the county of Västerbotten. In collaboration with the sports association of Västerbotten a future project will later be made to gather all these activities in one place. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to analyze different sports clubs in the county of Västerbotten and their range of activities. Further, the purpose was also to assess the need of the sports clubs to develop the accessibility of their activities for adults in the county. The future aim of this study is that the results will compose a foundation for an activity directory which will increase the accessibility of different sports clubs and facilitate for individuals who practise some sort of exercise. Because of the limited research on this area, this study could be of interest for individuals, associations as well as for future research. To get the results interviews were carried out with nine different sports clubs and companies. The interviewees all had managing roles and good insights within their respective company. The respondents were asked about their opinions regarding the need of an activity directory and its possible benefits and disadvantages. The results show an interest for the directory from the majority of the respondents and that one of the primary benefits is that it provides marketing for the sports clubs and companies who choose to participate. One disadvantage with the activity directory could be that people with limited access to the Internet will be excluded, but as long as the marketing is good and the design is simple and well structured, the activity directory may have good future prospects.

Seiden, Emelie, Sjödin, Matilda January 2022 (has links)
Club sports for children and youths have been shown to give rise to several both physical andmental benefits. Furthermore, the Swedish Sports Confederation has expressed that theSwedish sports movement should be characterized by "as many as possible, as long aspossible in as good an organization as possible". The increased dropouts in children's andyouth sports do not seem to resonate with the mentioned motto, and for this reason this studyhas been carried out in order to examine how sport clubs work to keep children and youthsinvolved in sports, and also to find out what opportunities and limitations, can be identifiedregarding the club’s work with their youth associations'. Based on previous research and with the use of the following theories and models; SportCommitment Model, Fun Maps, Consumer Knowledge Management, Self DeterminationTheory and Achievement Goal Theory, a qualitative method with semi-structured interviewshas been conducted to try to answer the study's research questions. The social interaction is very important, that’s whats makes you want to be part of team sport : a qualitative study of girls in upper teens' participation in team sports

Pragner, Elisabeth, Isaksson, Ellen January 2017 (has links)
In the introduction of the study, physical activity is seen as a prerequisite to good health, both for the individual and for public health. At the same time, club sports appear as an important player to increase physical activity in society. The method used for the study was qualitative, in which semi-structured interviews were conducted. The sample consisted of girls in the age of 17-19 years, who are active members in team sport. The analysis of the material was made by using qualitative content analysis. The result showed that important social relationships are crucial for sports participation. Depending on the importance of the relationship, the relationship affects sports participation to a varied extent. The result showed three categories: Primary relation includes family, partner and friends, secondary relation includes teammates and tertiary relation includes coach. The importance of the relationships, social support, priority, understanding, the cohesion of the team and participation are vital factors for continued participation in club sports.
