físico, mental, psíquico, do self e do espiritual.
a exortação e o perdão.
Having as central issue 'the salvation' of BEING through the mutuality, this research
starts indicating the meaning of the word BEING to be the core of this work. We
chose the term BEING derived from the philosophy, for we understand that it best
represents the human being as a whole. We showed how such BEING is constituted
through a process of identification with the other in social relations and his identity
that is built of concepts and parameters comprising his individuality since very early
age. Salvation is seen in a broad sense as from the original Greek word, which
includes the health of BEING in all aspects such as physical, mental, psychic, self
and spiritual. We have presented the concept of Communion considered of utmost
importance for the salvation of BEING may occur in the living body of Christ. The
mutuality is analyzed as something that has been lost in recent times. Mutuality
involves developing personal relationships in the Church where the concept of Gods
family is manifested and there is the possibility of salvation of the members of the
church. There are various concepts of mutuality in the Scriptures, but we chose three
of them: love, exhortation and forgiveness. The mutual love is described in three
different characteristics: the love that gives itself completely, the love that means
friendship and the love that is more focused on the care, the zeal and the diligence of
a brother to another. Secondly, we included mutual exhortation, pointing out that the
church needs the exhortation. We showed how this exhortation should be indicating
its results. We have indicated some of the texts in which the apostles used the
exhortation to confront, encourage or console the Church. And finally, it is the mutual
forgiveness starting with the definition of the concept and pointing out how this
forgiveness should be. We also demonstrated the need to release forgiveness, so
necessary for human health.

The Relationship Between Honesty-Humility And Social Desirability: High-Stake Versus Low-Stake SituationsKoepke, Lena, Marten, Julia Katharina January 2018 (has links)
Faking in applications was found to be an important issue in which social desirability plays a relevant role. The present study brings Social Desirability Responding, Honesty-Humility, and different stakes of situations into relation. Social Desirability Responding, i.e. Communion Management and Self-Deceptive Enhancement, operationalized by the Balanced Inventory of Desirable Responding (BIDR) and Honesty-Humility (HEXACO-60) are analysed regarding their relationships and differences in and between high-stake, low-stake, and high-stake-low-framed situations. Relationships between Honesty-Humility and Communion Management were significantly positive, while no relationship between Honesty-Humility and Self-Deceptive Enhancement was found. There were also no significant differences in the constructs across situations. It was further investigated whether individuals scoring low in Honesty-Humility show different responding behaviour dependent on situational frames compared to individuals scoring high in Honesty-Humility. No significant differences were found. Results imply that Social Desirable Responding scales do not measure what they intent to, hence further research is needed. The tested high-stake-low-framed situational instruction did not significantly reduce faking. However, exploring the option of framing application situations is recommended for organizations. Further, the problematic nature of measuring Social Desirability Responding is considered.

Previous issue date: 2015-08-10 / The way man relates with the sacrate is the object study of many different humanity sciences. The understanding of how the mind process the manifestations of the religious phenomenon in the practice of religous people occurs by the rites orchestration, as they function as the myth preservation and renovation. The relationship between homo religious and the binomial sacred/unholy happenening depens on environment, objects or the psycological states that will vary the level of abstraction in the practice of the rites. Aiming to increase the knowledge about religious phenomenon, the object of study in the Religions Science, it is proposed the observation the rite of the Holy Communion celebrated by the Historic Protestants, through an interview with ministers and those of historical Protestantism doing a qualitative research with ethnographic outlining in order to answer the question: What meaning the followers of historical Protestantism give the symbolism of the essential elements of bread and wine in the rite of Holy Communion? The research will contribute on the understanding of the meaning given to this rite on the followers of the Lutheran, Anglican, and Presbyterian churches, which are within the historiacal Protestantism derived from the Religious Reformation of the Sixteenth century. The method we will use to analyze the reported and observed senses is the Discursive Textual Analysis, through interviews where the questions were aimed at the description of the meanings attributed by the subjects to participate in the rite of Holy Communion, and where the data collected from interviews with social texts participants of the rite will be applied according to the durandiano paradigm (1997). The research is justified in the field of Sciences of Religions considering that seeks to identify the religious phenomenon among followers of a significant segment of Christianity. Symbolic systems, associations, decoding, tradition, memory and transformation underlie the symbolic imagination of the historical Protestantism through the meaning of the elements bread and wine, instituted by Jesus Christ as a memorial to his sacrifice symbolically narrated through the Communion rite. Looking at ancient practice of this rite searching to understand its theological implications through Sensitivity Structures will contribute to advance the general knowledge of the man and his religiosity, through anthropological approach Imaginary Gerald Theory by Gilbert Durand.

The Anglican Church's mission to the Muslims in Cape Town during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries : a study in the changes of missiological methods and attitudesPratt, Derek Alfred January 1998 (has links)
When Bishop Robert Gray arrived at the Cape in 1848, he was concerned at the large percentage of the former slave population who had been attracted to the Muslim faith. He appointed Michael Angelo Camilleri (1848-1854) as a missionary to the Muslims of Cape Town. Camilleri's tenure was short and he was frequently used to fill other ecclesiastical posts. From 1854 until 1911 the responsibility of mission to the Muslims was given to priests whose parishes had large Muslims populations. In 1911 a fulltime missionary was once again appointed. Thomas Fothergill Lightfoot, arrived at the Cape in 1858 and served at St Paul's, Bree Street until his death in 1904. His was a ministry of love and caring. He was greatly respected for his work by all sections of the population. John Mühleissen Arnold worked in the parish of St Mary's, Woodstock. His aggressive missiological technique broke down much of the religious tolerance which had existed. His publication of a pamphlet supposedly written by a Muslim, raises doubts about his integrity as a missionary and his ethical stance as a Christian. In 1907 the Diocesan Mission Board took control of the Muslim mission and in 1911 appointed Stephen Garabedian as director. Under Garabedian the policy of the mission was aimed primarily at preventing Christian women 'lapsing' from Christianity and becoming Muslims through marriage. After his resignation in 1922, the work continued under numerous women workers who concentrated on Muslim women and children through sewing guilds and childrens' clubs. In 1960, George Swartz was appointed as director. Swartz was the first Coloured and South African-born priest to hold the post of director. Swartz served as director until he was appointed to Bonteheuwel as parish priest. He subsequently chaired the board until it ceased to meet in 1976. Throughout its one hundred twenty eight years of active existence, the Anglican mission to the Muslims failed to attract a large number of converts. Initially this could be attributed to the attraction the Muslims had to those seeking a strong community life. Later, outside influences from the Islamic world strengthened the faith of the Muslim community against any Christian conversion attempts. During the latter part of the twentieth century the mission viewed its tasks as preventing the conversion of Christians who wished to marry Muslims and informing and educating Christians on the Islamic faith. In the late 1960s, the Board encouraged dialogue rather than confrontation. It changed its name to the Board of Muslim Relationship. Apartheid was seen as the common enemy of both Christians and Muslims and they worked together against its evils. The need for a Mission Board was seen as redundant and from 1976 it ceased to be active.

Abuse of alcohol by Anglican clergy : challenge to pastoral careKgabe, Vicentia 08 October 2011 (has links)
The Anglican Church is experiencing a growing number of clergy who abuse alcohol, and this has made people to ask whether clergy still embody the image of God or if they are “alcoholics.” I therefore undertook to do a research on this problem to ascertain whether the church creates alcoholics or are alcoholics attracted to the ministry. Questionnaires designed for laity, clergy and the diocesan leadership were given to them to find out if alcohol and alcoholism is a problem to the church and what could be the cause of it. Realizing that the questionnaires may not be sufficient, five case studies we used. These case studies are real stories from different priests across Southern Africa. They are more detailed and shed a light to the problem of alcoholism among the clergy. Through the questionnaires and case studies, the researcher found that ministerial stress, family stress, financial problems, lack of recreational time and peer pressure contribute to clergy being alcoholics. Moreover, the diocesan leadership has not devised means to assist alcoholic priests on permanent bases. Sending an alcoholic priest to rehabilitation centres has been the modus operandi and there is no follow up from the leadership until the said priest relapses. Families of alcoholic clergy have been left to find their own ways of healing. The parish too, has not received much help. The question asked is how the parish heal and not take out its pain on a new priest who comes after the alcoholic priest. The researcher recommends that as part of the discernment process, a psychologist be involved to help to ascertain whether a candidate to ministry does / have exposure to alcohol and to what extend his condition can be a hindrance to performing his priestly calling. With many clergy, the signs were there when they went to the Discernment Conference and no one picked them up. And as part of clergy training and formation, the abuse of alcohol and its consequences should be discussed and on-going assistance should be accessible to both clergy and their families. Though this research was not aimed at stopping priests from being alcoholics, the researcher hopes that it helps the clergy to realize what alcohol do to their ministry, families and themselves so that they can make wise choices when it comes to taking alcohol. / Thesis (PhD)--University of Pretoria, 2011. / Practical Theology / unrestricted

[pt] A IGREJA DO ESPÍRITO DE DEUS QUE NASCE NO CORAÇÃO DO POVO: A RELEVÂNCIA E O DESAFIO DO SENSUS FIDEI NA CONSTITUIÇÃO DOGMÁTICA LUMEN GENTIUM DO VATICANO II / [en] THE CHURCH OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD IS BORN IN THE HEART OF THE PEOPLE: THE RELEVANCE AND CHALLENGE OF THE SENSUS FIDEI IN THE DOGMATIC CONSTITUTION LUMEN GENTIUM OF VATICAN II09 February 2011 (has links)
[en] This paper talks about two dimensions of Church-reality: divine and human, defined by the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965) as People of God. The church is divine because it has its origin in God and human because God swill is manifested in the hearts and minds of the people. We focus our thinking, especially about the relevance and challenge of the sensus fidei in the dogmatic Constitution Lumen Gentium of Vatican II. The divine plan is Yes of God s unconditional love, offered to humanity, and faith of the human being is amen of his spontaneous opening, the inner attitude of surrender to grace. The awareness of faith is the necessary road, the core element of the construction and constitution of union communial and communication relationship of humanity with each other, the cosmos and with God. The reality of non-ordained people and their experience of God in the post-Vatican II became for the new scenarios of the Church. Besides the diverse attitudes towards the reception of the Council, there are also various interpretations of approaches of the post-conciliar Church. Our research aims to analyze the constitutive element (sensus fidei) of the Church, using theological sources, such as: Holy Scripture, Tradition and Church Magisterium.

The Spirit and the meal : a ritual-liturgical evaluation of charismatic worshipDenny, Lindie January 2013 (has links)
The Spirit tradition is a fairly new tradition with its essential focus on experiencing the Holy Spirit. This tradition has made its latest and most influential appearance during the Azusa street revival in Los Angeles at the start of the 1900s. This has started a new wave or move if you want across the earth andhas made inroads into most other existing traditions. It is a tradition fashioned by the needs of believers and the reality of experiencing the Holy Spirit.
Worship is a vital part of any Charismatic church service. Upbeat music with talented bands is up front and ready to lead people into passionate and expressive worship. Their worship stretches further than just music. They attempt to fashion their lives as a worship offering to God. Within the Charismatic tradition, the word Liturgy is unheard of, even though it is part of their service. Part of this worship includes the celebration of Communion. Communion is celebrated all over the world in most Christian churches. It has been one of the most sacred sacraments of the church through the centuries. With it came many feuds over doctrine and challenges regarding the form, meaning, presence, elements and so forth. It has been thecenter of many debates. But it still remains central to any believer.
The researcher has looked at the history of the Spirit tradition within chapter 2 with its main focus on liturgical rituals of healing, exorcism and speaking in tongues. These rituals are researched and traced all through history. The rituals are present and active in every era the researcher looked at. The Theology of the spirit tradition was also explored. She then went on to look at the history of the Eucharist. The changes and forms were noted. A deeper understanding of the celebration of the Eucharist was realized and the Theology depicted the differences in opinion.
No current day practical theological research is complete without Empirical research. This made the researcher more involved. By participatory observation and questionnaires, essential information was gathered regarding how believers in Charismatic churches appropriate their participation during the celebration of Communion. New insights were gained. Based on this research the researcher came to the conclusion that the Meal-and the Spirit worship traditions can come together in a more meaningful way. The true meaning needs to be taught to believers so that a deeper knowledge of the truth of Communion can be gained. Communion cannot remain watered-down and enter as an afterthought during a service. It has the potential to be an incredible experience by any Christian believer. When the Spirit and the Meal can be brought together in a more meaningful way, it has the potential to become the future of Charismatic worship. This conclusion is worked out in some detail in the final chapter. / Dissertation (MA Theol)--University of Pretoria, 2013. / gm2014 / Practical Theology / unrestricted
