This study also analized the strategies adopted by the director in the creation of the theater play ?Mem?rias de Quintal?, correlating the concepts focused in the practice of the theater directing and the writing of the notebooks of the theatral directing.

The recent societal development of highly specialized evidence has brought new problems to the forefront of the jury system. Because of the constitutional right to jury trials citizens of the United States and Florida have, it is imperative that the problems facing juries be discussed and explored. The question of whether or not juries can be trusted to comprehend highly technical evidence must be answered for the Florida jury to move forward into modern era. The subsequent question of what biases regarding highly specialized evidence have arisen must also be examined and addressed. Furthermore, solutions designed to increase a jury's comprehension and decrease their bias must be discussed and propagated. The purpose of this thesis is to explore the answers to those questions and provide potential solutions to the issues facing the modern Florida jury. Law journals, statutes, and case law all suggest that juror comprehension decreases substantially when faced with highly complex evidence. Biases are also commonly associated with these forms of evidence and are leading towards unfair verdicts. Despite these problems, there are solutions that are readily available in the areas of alternative dispute resolution. Further solutions may be created through a revision of the jury instruction process. This thesis seeks to raise awareness of the problems facing the Florida jury and contribute solutions that are practical and easily used.

Dans sa provenance platonicienne, l’idéal de l’incarnation de l’Idée doit à la fois affronter des individualités (pré)déterminées et qualitativement différentes (le pluralisme) – qui sont répétitions et répétées elles-mêmes. Il doit devenir le vouloir-dire de la personne qui s’efforce de mettre en œuvre ce dernier et qui cherche à franchir les limites ontologiques de la représentation. Cependant, l’irréalisabilité de la pure répétition du vouloir-dire – ou de n’importe quel « sujet » – atteste de la présence absente du même dans le processus de sa mise en œuvre ; la répétition est toujours déjà répétition différenciatrice, son acte même toujours susceptible d’être perçu comme mimétique en pratique. Lorsque nous « créons », nous cherchons une différence absolue (singularisation) tout en visant l’universalité du vouloir-dire, l’Univocité. Autrement dit, c’est l’inévitabilité de la répétition différenciatrice (« nouveauté ») qui se répète et tend vers un dernier résultat censé être absolument univoque et intersubjectivement compris et jugé. Cette inévitabilité signifie-t-elle une (ou la dernière) impasse théorique – une « fin » – insurmontable ? Comment les artistes, les historiens d’art et les philosophes s’y prennent-ils ? Entre l’origine et le futur de l’art, quelle puissance de la répétition devrait-on y chercher pour ne plus répéter « une répétition pour toute » ? / From its Platonic source, the ideal of embodiment of Idea must face individualities which are (pre)determined and qualitatively different – and are themselves repetitions repeated. It must become “what-is-wanted-to-be-said” or “meaning” (“vouloir-dire”) of the person who endeavors to realize it and to attempt to exceed the ontological limits of representation. Meanwhile, the unrealizability of pure repetition of the “vouloir-dire” – like any other “subject matter” – testifies to the absent presence of the same in the process of its realization; each and every repetition is always already a differential repetition, and its act itself always susceptible to be taken as mimetic in practice. When we “create”, we search for the absolute difference (singularization) while aiming at a universality of the “vouloir-dire”, Univocity. Put another way, it is the inevitability of the differential repetition (“newness”) that repeats itself and moves towards the last outcome that is meant to be unique in itself and intersubjectively understood and judged. Does this inevitability point towards a (or the last) insurmountable theoretical stalemate – “an end”? How do artists, art-historians, and philosophers deal with this problem? Between the origin and the future of art, what sort of force of repetition do we have to look for in order to finally no longer repeat “one repetition for all”?

The program is presented by Father F?bio de Melo, a catholic priest that also is a famous religious singer and writer. The analyses included not only some TV programs, but also interviews with some of the viewers and Fabio de Melo himself. The results points out the emergence in Brazil of a new religious speech from Catholic Church founded in comprehension path, dissociated from punishment and guilty. This religious speech is more like a self help speech rather than a tradicional religious discourse itself, very similar to psychotherapeutic speech. The TV program presented by Fabio de Melo is guided in tiny line of sacre and profane which announces contradictions but also a new blend of religious approach in contemporary days / Trata-se da an?lise do discurso realizado pelo Pe. F?bio de Melo atrav?s do programa Dire??o Espiritual, transmitido todas ?s quintas-feiras das 22h30min ?s 23h30min, atrav?s da TV Can??o Nova filiada ? Comunidade Can??o Nova, situada em Cachoeira Paulista-SP. Discute-se a produ??o de um discurso religioso de massa revestido de um poder que busca o resgate do outro. Al?m da an?lise de programas gravados, foram realizadas entrevistas com alguns telespectadores do programa Dire??o Espiritual, da Can??o Nova, no intuito de observar como essas pessoas trariam no seu discurso, a partir daquilo que julgam serem seus problemas pessoais, inseguran?as, ang?stias, perdas, entre outros, os ind?cios do mal estar de nossa sociedade e como eles percebiam a constru??o deste discurso religioso realizado atrav?s do Pe. F?bio. Foi realizada uma r?pida entrevista com F?bio de Melo. Os resultados apontam para uma nova modalidade de discurso religioso televisivo de massa, possibilitando aos telespectadores uma subjetividade que se pode fazer menos ancorada em atos her?icos, como os dos santos e do Cristo, e mais fundada na cotidianidade, numa ?tica de bem proceder , do respeito m?tuo , da convivialidade cooperativa. Tal discurso docilizador e acolhedor cria, em alguns momentos do programa, um tensionamento com a pr?pria tradi??o da Igreja. Conclui-se que o discurso do Pe. For that, five of the most actives brazilian directors based on Rio Grande do Sul have been interviewed. We also research support of theory in authors like Jean-Jacques Roubine, Richard Boleslavski and in Constantin Stanislavsky. The work begins with a brief introduction, explaining the sparks who motivate the incursion in the present theme; then, the work makes a approximation about the relation between director and actor in the cinema and also presents an approach about the pragmatic actions during the process of directing actors. It also approach the regional framing, at the directors and space of work chapter and finishes with some brief considerations. / O presente texto aborda a quest?o da dire??o de atores para cinema, com dois vetores de corte: o par?metro temporal, priorizando a an?lise da quest?o e seus desdobramentos ap?s o per?odo da chamada Retomada do Cinema Brasileiro at? o momento atual e o par?metro regional, priorizando e focando a problematiza??o do tema no estado do Rio Grande do Sul. Interessa-nos saber quem ? o produtor cinematogr?fico brasileiro e quais s?o os seus referenciais imagin?rios, ou, em outras palavras, quais s?o as id?ias-for?a que circulam no espa?o audiovisual e participam, de forma ativa, da constru??o imagin?ria. Nosso olhar foca-se no per?odo contempor?neo, a partir do ano 2000, aqui entendido como per?odo de consolida??o.

The current dissertation had three primary objectives, categorized into two MTurk studies with capital juror-eligible community members: (a) cross-validate the psychometric properties of the JQVV, (b): explore the role of legal attitudes via the JQVV in mock capital sentencing decisions, and (c): examine the JQVV's ability to detect juror social desirability in capital voir dire. Impressively, Study 1 (N = 552) and Study 2 (N = 313) provided strong and consistent evidence for the JQVV's reliability and construct validity. In the mock juror paradigm, punitive legal attitudes on the JQVV (i.e., Crime-Neg, Convict, and Death-Pos), did not directly affect sentencing decisions, however they indirectly influenced the perception of nearly all other legally relevant variables (e.g., evidence type). For example, participants with more punitive criminal justice attitudes evaluated aggravating evidence more favorably which, in turn, increased death sentence verdicts. Study 1 also underscored the concerningly low levels of comprehension jurors have regarding judicial instructions and other relevant legal knowledge (e.g., the definition of aggravating). In Study 2, the support-life and support-death groups evidenced divergent patterns of social desirability, although support-death participants did not dramatically alter their scores between the genuine and social desirability condition. Additionally, the JQVV Pros-Cyn and Justice-Pos scales were moderately effective at identifying social desirability, marking the first ever questionnaire to examine juror response styles. Implications for research, professional practice in capital jury selection, and legal policy are discussed.

The DOA estimator is developed by using techniques of Conventional Beam-forming (CBF), Blind Source Separation (BSS), and the neural estimator MRBF (Modular Structure of Radial Basis Functions). The developed MRBF estimator has its capacity extended due to the interaction with the BSS technique. The BSS makes an estimation of the steering vectors of the multiple plane waves that reach the array in the same frequency, that means, obtains to separate mixed signals without information a priori. The technique developed in this work makes possible to identify the multiple sources directions and to identify and to exclude interference sources / Esta disserta??o apresenta uma nova proposta para os problemas de detec??o de dire??o de chegada para mais de um sinal incidindo simultaneamente sobre um arranjo de antenas de geometria planar ou linear empregando algoritmos inteligentes. Utilizando um simulador de dire??o de baixo n?vel, desenvolvido especialmente para esta pesquisa, foram realizados testes de usabilidade para medir a efic?cia, a efici?ncia e a satisfa??o, diante da sinaliza??o de controle das faixas revers?veis, conforme regulamenta??es em vigor no Brasil as quais especificam apenas a marca??o horizontal e os sinais luminosos dos sem?foros. Os resultados indicam que s?o necess?rias adequa??es na regulamenta??o e correspondente revis?o de pr?ticas para a obten??o da Carteira Nacional de Habilita??o para que os motoristas adquiram familiaridade com o tema faixas revers?veis e os elementos de sinaliza??o sejam suficientemente compreens?veis. / The reversal of the flow direction in certain traffic lanes has been presented as a solution to traffic congestion registered in Brazilian cities at rush hour, however, we see the need for a comprehensive and uniform sign that, in its regulations, contemplate all sign needs for drivers feeling trust and confidence to interact with it. Using a low-level driving simulator, developed especially for this research, usability tests were performed to measure the effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction at the sign control of reversible lanes according to regulations ruling in Brazil which only specify the horizontal markings and the light signals of the traffic lights. Infractions committed by the participants during the way for three different tracks, reports recorded during the tests and satisfaction questionnaires applied in the end of them were taken as usability measures. The results indicate that are necessary adjustments in the regulations and corresponding revision of practices to obtain the National driver's license for drivers to acquire familiarity with the subject reversible lanes and signaling elements are sufficiently comprehensible.
