Struck, Olaf, Simonson, Julia January 2000 (has links)

L'utilisation du piano dans la musique arabe du XXème siècle : organologie et analyse / Piano in arabic music of XXe siècle : organology and analyse

Mansour, Rym 24 November 2018 (has links)
Arabic music is characterized by a rich modal diversity. For its quarter tones included in several modes, ornamentation made while playing special stamps, its execution becomes a kind of disability forced by its particular modes that are often outside the tempered musical system. This does not preclude the presence and use of piano in arabic music whether in accompaniment (instrumental or vocal) in a group or arabic "takht" or even solo. This issue was addressed more comprehensively. The study of the relationship between West and East is a challenge to list the details of a very broad and multidisciplinary acculturation (music, theater, film, social, political ...) In several books and several research projects, musical interaction between these two worlds has been treated in general. Therefore, we find that specific and targeted treatment of our research is presented in the study of the insertion of the piano in the Arab civilization at first and then in arabic music. The merger between an icon of the West and a music modal character, even ethnic, is impressive which brings us to treat this phenomenon in a thesis.

Ecriture de l'histoire et construction de soi : les textes de fiction de l'écrivain allemand Klaus Schesinger (1937 - 2001) / Writing history, construction oneself : the fictional texts of German author Klaus Schlesinger (1937-2001)

Argelès, Daniel 31 March 2014 (has links)
This thesis analyses the fictional texts of Berlin author Klaus Schlesinger under the aspect of history-writing. Born in 1937 in East-Berlin, this important yet still under-estimated writer lived under five different regimes – national-socialist Germany, occupied Germany, the GDR (from 1949 to 1980), the FRG (from 1980 to 1989), unified Germany – and as many major changes that find reflection in his work: the revelation of the scope of Nazi crimes, the reorientations in the post-war era and under the socialist regime, the building of the Berlin Wall, political “dissidence” and exile in the West in the wake of the Biermann affair, then the fall of the Wall, the disappearance of the GDR and German unification. While the analysis falls into four chronological periods, thus allowing for an overview of his intellectual and political itinerary, the thesis primarily focuses on the way Schlesinger represented this half-century of German history, its impact on individuals and the questions that arose from it (the heritage of the past, the individual’s position in “real”-socialism, in capitalist societies or the Cold war, utopia, identity). It looks at the narrative and formal choices made in each text and underlines the historiographical, moral, political and personal-identity questions inextricably linked to them. Drawing from several theoretical sources (Ricœur, Foucault, de Certeau, Turner, Geertz), it underlines the specific nature of the often heterotopical or liminal spaces in which Schlesinger places his characters and interprets fictional writing as a privileged space of self-apprehension and self-construction in history. While focused on the fictional writings, the analyses also uses the author’s essays and autobiographical texts as well as the Klaus Schlesinger archives of the Akademie der Künste in Berlin (correspondence, first drafts, text fragments, Stasi surveillance files, reviews, interviews).

Implementierung der Erwachsenenbildung nach der Vereinigung Deutschlands

Kang, Gu Sup 05 August 2008 (has links)
This thesis focuses on the roles of adult education that have been played not only for the adaptation of East Germans in the new society system after the unification of Germany, but also for the inner unification between East and West Germans, since especially adult education can react flexibly to the current social challenges in various respects at the time of social changes and make a contribution to accommodate the new political and economic demands. In this research I try to analyse mainly the debate of conferences taken place in the field of adult education, particularly between experts like professors, specialists, politicians etc… and to estimate what role the debate of conferences has played in the process of German unification, especially concerning the implementation of adult education in East Germany after the German unification. The results of the research show that the debate of conferences was much more focussing on the theme about vocational education than the important problems such as Democratizing, inner Unification of East and West Germans. In terms of the ‘inner Unification’ the results of the research show that adult education contributes to make people act democratically since they have chance to extend social personal competent to improve their vocational Qualification. In this Relation the conferences make it possible for experts from various social fields to exchange and cooperate each other.

Narrating alternative histories : an exploration of Jamal Mahjoub's The carrier and Amitav Ghosh's In an antique land

Eberhard, Nicole Joanne 04 1900 (has links)
Thesis (MA)-- Stellenbosch University, 2014. / ENGLISH ABSTRACT: This thesis interrogates the relationship between the past and the present, as represented in Jamal Mahjoub's The Carrier (1998) and Amitav Ghosh's In an Antique Land (1992). These texts re-imagine history in order to think a different future. They narrate alternative histories and in the process critique Western historiography and its representation of the East and South. This thesis will draw on Edward Said’s Orientalism (1978) as a way of conceptualising dominant Western attitudes towards the East, as well as the South, represented by Africa, as the liminal characters in Mahjoub and Ghosh's texts move across the Indian Ocean and Mediterranean worlds. Mahjoub and Ghosh both fracture their narratives into a historical and a contemporary thread, interweaving these fragments in order to comment on the dynamic relationship between the past and the present. This relationship will be conceptualised drawing on Walter Benjamin's notion of a constellation connecting points in time. The mapping of connection is enabled by the authors’ exploration of a history of connection between diverse people in these regions. The alternative histories proposed reveal precolonial Mediterranean and Indian Ocean trading networks built on exchange, resulting in cosmopolitan societies emphasising connection rather than geopolitical binaries. Conversations across differences — of culture, religion, and schools of thought — drive these connections in the historical plotlines. By juxtaposing this past world with a more hostile twentieth century world, Mahjoub and Ghosh seek to question whether reconceptualising the past enables the re-imagining of the present and future, in terms of how people are able to connect across boundaries of difference.

Abstract: In favor of crave jubilance at the numb hearts: poetical construction of a perception This paper presents the testimony of a trajectory of life, whose experiences, research, equity and propositions in the field of arts, especially theater, gained new look and conduct from contact with the indigenous culture and oriental arts and philosophy. The research was initiated from concerns in the field of identity, militancy and consciousness. The methodology is set in their own way and was guided by the masters intuition and communion, the Muses of been as an actor. The walked paths were presented, from childhood until the first shows, the trend to merge art and life. Until that, with the immersion in the indigenous and east worlds, the look and conduct of the researcher had been redirected, coming from the theatricalization to the propositions and integrated and participatory arts, including as primary axis of practice and proposal to search by state of presence and generosity while emanation. The text, in the manner of testimony, presents, beyond the thought, the comparison with theory, poems, records of time and stories, illustrated with photos and drawings. The journey of making this thesis realized the discovery of a new plan: the processing and organization of this experience as a major rite of passage, as experiences being offered as knowledge, while pointing to the Theatre as form of knowledge. The trip was sponsored by the intense need to expand levels of knowledge and awareness, the deep desire to act with greater clarity among the human species, toward the full moment and the living presence, until to oblivion terms like past and future. / Doutorado / Doutor em Artes

Religious plurality in Germany: attitudes and their determining factors

Pickel, Gert, Yendell, Alexander January 2014 (has links)
Germany is presently transforming into a modern immigration state, leaving behind its image of a “guest worker” country. Parallely, it is confronted with growing religious plurality and rising religious conflicts. Moreover, religious labeling of groups other than the Christian or undenominational majority population becomes more significant. Against this background, the paper discusses the views of the population in Germany towards religious plurality, practices of religious minorities as well as attitudes towards members of different religious groups. The results reveal a considerable amount of negative attitudes towards foreign religious groups in Germany. More specifically, Islam and Muslims are mostly viewed as negative by the German population. Structural equation models with manifest variables show that, in particular, the frequency of contacts have positive impacts on attitudes towards people of different religious affiliations.
