Slaugytojų perdegimo sindromas ir jo ryšis su asmeninėmis savybėmis Universiteto ligoninės vaikų skyriuose / Burnout syndrome among nurses and relations with the personal characteristics, at the University hospital of children's units

Bačinina, Diana 11 July 2014 (has links)
Maslach Burnout Inventory)... [toliau žr. visą tekstą] / Burnout syndrome refers to „mental syndrome“ that defines the state of idealistically minded and dedicated, dutiful people when due to excessive workload or personal characteristics, or due to both circumstances a person finally feels completely exhausted. Prevalence of burnout among nurses working at a selected psychiatric hospital in Western Cape

Tununu, Anathi Faith January 2018 (has links)
Magister Curationis - Mcur / Research studies allude to the escalation of work related stress, which leads to burnout among mental health nurses, internationally. Mental health nursing is stressful because it is a helping profession that involves close interpersonal working relationships and the burden of providing nursing care to mental health care users (MHCUs) with complex emotional demands. These stressful working conditions render mental health nurses susceptible to burnout. Globally, health care services share a concern about the effects of burnout on nurses. Although burnout is a personal experience for the nurses, the results impact negatively on the quality of care delivered to MHCUs, while increasing the cost of care of the hospitals, which employ these mental health nurses.

Učitelské vyhoření a copingové strategie / Burnout syndrome among teachers and coping strategies

Hozáková, Veronika January 2017 (has links)
The objective of this thesis is map whenever there are differences between teachers and their danger level of burnout syndrome. The next aim is the finding if there are some differences between men and women in coping with burnout syndrome and if their coping strategies are different. The theoretical part is focused on describing burnout syndrome, its symptoms, impacts and coping strategies which have been already defined by other authors. Analysis of coping strategies is part of the theoretical part too. Empirical work is based on the research that I realized. The research is two-phased. In the first phase teachers filled the questionnaire which is focused on the burnout syndrome. In the second phase, there were interviews which were realized with women and men picked based on outcomes of the first phase. Teachers from basic schools, secondary technical schools, grammar schools and secondary vocational schools. The interviews were realized with six respondents. Data gained from questionnaires and interviews are compared in terms of the type of school and in terms of gender. The main results of my research are following. Gender does not differ in manifestation of burn-out syndrome, burnout syndrome symptoms are gender-neutral. The frequency of burnout syndrome manifestation differs depending on the...

Participatory Management and Absenteeism and Turnover of Nursing Assistants in Nursing Homes

Hughes, Susan D. 12 1900 (has links)
Nursing assistants (NAs) provide the majority of daily care to older adults in nursing homes (NHs); NAs working in NHs are the focus of this study. This study examined the influence of participatory management (the independent variable), and mediating variables, burnout – measured as emotional exhaustion, task performance, and affective organizational commitment, on NA withdrawal behaviors (the dependent variables absenteeism and turnover). Most of the data come from a 113-item self-administered questionnaire designed to measure NAs' perceptions of their job and work environment. Turnover data were collected from the NA's NH, on average about 16 months later. The two dependent variables were examined in separate analyses with the samples consisting of 246 participants for the absenteeism analysis and 244 for the turnover analysis. Data were analyzed using SPSS 25 and PROCESS 3.3, an SPSS macro add-in. Both ordinary least squares and logistic binary regression were used to examine the associations between variables. The results indicated that participatory management had statistically significant indirect effects on both outcomes. There were two significant mediation results for absenteeism: 1) participatory management increased NA task performance, which, in turn, decreased absenteeism and, 2) participatory management also decreased NA burnout, which, in turn, increased their performance and decreased absenteeism. There were four significant mediation results for turnover: 1) participatory management increased NA attachment to the NH, which, in turn, decreased turnover, 2) participatory management improved NAs' perceptions of their job performance, which, in turn, increased their turnover, 3) participatory management tended to decrease NA burnout, which, in turn, tended to increase attachment to the NH, and, then, tended to decrease turnover, and 4) participatory management tended to decrease NA burnout, which, in turn, tended to increase task performance, and, then, tended to increase turnover. These findings broaden the research on NAs' withdrawal behaviors and demonstrate the need to further explore this hypothesized model.

Babakus, Emin, Yavas, Ugur, Karatepe, Osman M. 28 October 2008 (has links)
This study develops and tests a model which investigates the simultaneous effects of job demands, job resources, and a personal resource (intrinsic motivation) on emotional exhaustion and turnover intentions. Frontline hotel employees in Ankara, Turkey serve as the study setting. Among others, results show that job demands (role conflict and role ambiguity) trigger frontline employees' emotional exhaustion and turnover intentions. Job resources (supervisory support, training, empowerment, and rewards) and intrinsic motivation reduce emotional exhaustion. Implications of the findings are discussed and directions for future research are offered.

khan, Muhammad Tufail, Zafar, Hamza January 2021 (has links)
Purpose: Leadership is one of the very important as well as decisive factors in business environment. Following the Blau’s social exchange theory, this study discussed to analyze the despotic leadership effect on employees' job satisfaction in the Pakistani context. This research also analyzes the indirect association of despotic leadership and job satisfaction through the third variable named, emotional exhaustion (as mediator).  Method: Data is collected through an online self-administrated survey from employees working in the hotel industry of Pakistan. Descriptive analysis and inferential statistics were used. Moreover, conditional process technique was used introduced by Preacher and Hayes. Results: In conclusion, this study illustrates that despotic leadership style of the employees in hotel industry is a main antecedent of poor job satisfaction of the employees and this low job satisfaction becomes More low when employee experience the feelings of emotional exhaustion. Importantly, in this study it is found that emotional exhaustion does not mediate the relationship between despotic leadership and job satisfaction.  Originality: This research had added value to the existing literature on negative supervision in the hospitality sector, specifically in Pakistan. This has suggested organizations to identify prevalent despotic leaders and establish accountability mechanisms within the organizations.

The Mediating Effect of Surface Acting on Mistreatment-Exhaustion and Mistreatment-Sabotage Relationships

Fan, Jiani 01 January 2022 (has links)
Although ample research has been conducted to explore employee emotional labor and customer incivility at the workplace, there is limited literature examining the role of surface acting in the stressor-strain relationships associated with customer incivility. The current study focuses on the mediating effect of surface acting between customer mistreatment-emotional exhaustion and customer mistreatment-service sabotage relationships. Based on several theoretical models regarding mental and emotional resources, including the Conservation of Resources Theory and Ego Depletion Theory, it is hypothesized that a significant mediating effect of surface acting can be identified in the customer mistreatment-emotional exhaustion and customer mistreatment-service sabotage relationships. A total of 173 UCF-affiliated participants with at least a month of service working experience were recruited from the UCF SONA system and surveyed their emotional stress and interaction with customers at work to test the hypotheses. The concept of service sabotage was studied at both the individual and environmental levels to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the relationships. Deep acting as a different type of emotional labor was also inspected in the current study. Results revealed the significant relationships between surface acting and customer mistreatment, emotional exhaustion, as well as individual-level service sabotage. Results also supported the hypotheses regarding the mediating effect of surface acting on customer mistreatment predicting emotional exhaustion and individual-level service sabotage, but not environmental-level service sabotage. Theoretical and practical implications, limitations, future research directions are discussed.
