Komparace podmínek podnikání v ČR a RF / A comparison of enterprise conditions in the CR and RF

Lindovský, Aleš January 2010 (has links)
For my thesis I have chosen a topical issue: A comparison of enterprise conditions in the CR and RF, because I have noticed growing cooperation between the Czech Republic and Russian Federation in recent years. The aim of this study is the evaluation and comparison of enterprise conditions for Czech businessmen who would like to enter the Russian market. In my thesis I analyze affecting the Czech businessmen expanding into Russia: Characteristics of the Russian market, trade and economic cooperation, forms of support for Czech businessmen, form of expansion into foreign markets and comparison of legal forms of business. The crucial section of my study is a research among Czech businessman who operate in the Czech and Russian market at the same time, therefore they can objectively compare the conditions in both markets. I came to the conclusion that entering into the Russian market is a lengthy and difficult process. However, after overcoming the initial barriers, a huge market with great potential and many possibilities for further progress is opened for the Czech businessmen.

Armond, Alvaro Cardoso 24 November 2006 (has links)

No. of bitstreams: 1 Alvaro Cardoso Armond.pdf: 1400403 bytes, checksum: 6d026e18e35c6ceb3b40fb71dea63651 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2006-11-24 / During the last decades, entrepreneurship has been given a lot of attention by researchers from many different fields. Its impacts over economic development, its role in making new technologies available and its power to socially transform cities, regions and countries, have stimulated the search for a better comprehension of the phenomenon. Although it s a relatively new field of knowledge, where the academic debate is yet very intense, it seems that there is an agreement on the fact that the entrepreneur is the pivotal element of entrepreneurship. This study was drawn from this assumption. A research was conducted aiming to identify the leadership behavior applied by entrepreneurs to promote the organizational changes required to consolidate and develop their businesses. The research is qualitative and exploratory, and was conducted through in depth interviews, with three entrepreneurs, which generated approximately four hours of report from each one of them. In order to be analyzed, the reports were submitted to categorization, based on the Yukl, Gordon e Taber (2000) theoretical model. Evidences were found that, in general terms, the type of leadership adopted by the entrepreneurs, aiming the growth of their organizations, is consistent with the leadership behavior presented in the literature, but that there are some personal and contextual factors, which would characterize leadership as an individual experience, influenced by environmental elements.

The Role of Motivation in Financing Women-Owned Businesses

Bryan, Severine C 01 January 2018 (has links)
Women-owned small businesses contribute significantly to the U.S. economy, accounting for 55% of all new ventures; however, women entrepreneurs receive only 2% in external financing. The growth of small businesses is contingent on business owners receiving adequate financing. Business leaders should consider how obstacles, such as lack of motivation, impede the pursuit of external financing. Grounded in Vroom's expectancy theory of motivation, the purpose of this correlational study was to analyze the relationships among valence, instrumentality, expectancy, and the desire to seek business financing. The study included women small business owners in the United States. Data were collected from a random sample of 71 small business owners using surveys and analyzed using multiple regression analysis. Results of the regression analysis indicated a statistically significant positive relationship between expectancy and the desire to seek business financing, F(1, 69) = 4.636, p = .035 < .05, R2 = .063. No statistically significant correlation existed between valence (p = .609) or instrumentality (p = .86) and desire to seek business financing. Women small business owners influence social and economic transformation in their communities by providing jobs, goods, and services. More than half of the 9.5 million jobs projected in 2018 will be provided by women-owned businesses. The findings of this study may provide women entrepreneurs with information that leads them to understand how to increase the 2% rate of external financing. The social change implications include increased job opportunities for members of the communities in which the businesses operate.

Skills That Small Business Owners Use to Succeed Beyond 5 Years

Gerig, Shelly 01 January 2018 (has links)
Small businesses in the United States have a high failure rate, with 50% failing within 5 years. Small businesses also account for 99.7% of U.S. firms and provide 48.0% of employees in the private sector, or 57 million out of 118 million employees. From 1992 to 2013, small firms were responsible for 63% of new jobs generated. The purpose of this qualitative multiple case study was to explore the skills small business owners (SBOs) used to achieve sustainability beyond 5 years in a purposefully selected area of Central Florida. The conceptual framework of human capital theory served to focus this case study on the exploration of skills SBOs used to succeed. Purposeful sampling was used to identify 3 small businesses in the mortgage industry had achieved sustainability beyond 5 years. Data were collected via semistructured interviews conducted in person and via Skype. Interview data were analyzed through inductive coding of phrases and words, and secondary data were collected from participants' company documents, such as lead sheets and goal boards. The findings revealed continuing education and training helped SBOs to increase their skills, communication and community networking allowed SBOs to build relationships, and goal setting and creating plans increased SBOs' business success. The results may contribute to social change because new SBOs can use the data to improve their skills for increased job creation and business, which creates economic stimulation.

Stoskopf, Nicolas 13 December 2002 (has links) (PDF)

Levy-Tadjine, Thierry 26 October 2004 (has links) (PDF)

Det osynliga entreprenörskapet : - en intervjustudie av företagare med utländsk bakgrund / The invisible entrepreneurship : - a study based on interviews with owners of businesses with foreign heritage

Landerholm Martinovic, Emilia January 2006 (has links)

The invisible entrepreneurship is a study of owners of businesses with foreign heritage. It describes the unexplored relationship between ethnicity and class within this group of entrepreneurs.

The result of the study is a model which I have found to be suitable to use when depicting the relationship between the ethnic profile and class. The model indicates that the importance of ethnicity decreases as both the owner of, and the business reach a more prominent class. The method of collecting data has been interviews with owners of businesses and Grounded theory has been used to analyse this data. Theories on ethnicity, owners of businesses with foreign heritage, and class in relation to ethnicity have been discussed on the basis of social constructivism. Also, the conception of ethnicity, foreigners, and owners of businesses with foreign heritage, entrepreneur and class has been discussed and defined.

Research on women who run a one person business

Huang, Ya-lin 12 February 2007 (has links)
The evolvement of a knowledge-based economy and the internet has changed the pattern of occupation, shortening the career life cycle of various professions. For many people wanting to realize their dreams and continue their careers, the choice is to start their own enterprise. Women have been restricted for a long time owing to the binding traditional roles, expectations and the differing sexual values in society. When choosing an occupation, women were faced with more difficult considerations than men. Hence, recently both academics and industrialists have attached importance to the discussion of women entrepreneurs in Taiwan. According to statistics from various countries, one-person business, a part of micro-business, is proportionally high in each nation. This could be seen as a common commercial pattern as well as an entrepreneurial model and also as an individual¡¦s choice of lifestyle. Many of these self-employed businesses, ¡¥non-companies¡¦, are in existence because they don¡¦t have complex organizational regulations and working procedures. They are seen in society as a matter of course and are often ignored. The numbers of one-person businesses and the SOHO population have increased due to the knowledge-based economy and the internet. Many people choose self-employment as a means to gain freedom, flexibility and independence. One-person business can be regarded as the easiest type out of all business to set up. There are many reasons why women pursue one-person business as a career. This study is based on in-depth interviews which explore the reasons of contentment and motivation behind women entrepreneurs. It also sums up an evaluation of women prior to their own business and to understand women¡¦s ability to carry out business development opportunities. Finally, it concludes with an optimum model proposal for women¡¦s one-person business.
