Os esforços do presente estudo concentraram-se em compreender as transformações trazidas pelos Jogos Mundiais Universitários ocorridos no ano de 1963 - Universíade de 1963 -, ao associativismo esportivo da cidade de Porto Alegre. Espera-se, com esta pesquisa, trazer mais uma contribuição sobre a relevância dos Jogos Mundiais Universitários para Porto Alegre, elegendo para tal, como foco de análise, as modificações ocorridas na estrutura e no funcionamento dos clubes que sediaram as competições esportivas. Desse modo, aproximar-nos da realidade gerada por tais mudanças significou, nos limites deste estudo, uma incursão sobre as representações que daquelas ocuparam-se em sustentar, fontes impressas de diversas naturezas, a saber: Revista do Globo, Jornal Correio do Povo, livros comemorativos dos clubes esportivos, obras especializadas, boletins, monografias e dissertações. No mesmo passo, este trabalho mobilizou a utilização de um grande acervo de fontes iconográficas que, com seus contornos, operaram igualmente aos textos, como elementos criadores ou reforçadores de representações. Assim sendo, privilegiando a utilização de fontes de diversas naturezas, bem como tecendo essa movimentação no enfoque que transcorre do macro ao micro, ressaltando o segundo ao primeiro, assumimos características teórico-metodológicas que alocam nosso estudo nas dimensões da História Cultural. Evidenciou-se que após a realização da Universíade de 1963, há indícios que não houve continuidade em algumas ações desencadeadas em razão do evento. Esse quadro de abandonos se intensifica quando direcionamos o olhar à elaboração de políticas públicas para a difusão das práticas esportivas na cidade. / The efforts of the present study had been concentrated in understanding the transformations brought from University World-wide Games occurred on the 1963 year, the Universíade of 1963, for the sporting scene of Porto Alegre, city headquarters of the event. In the same step, this work mobilized the use of a great quantity of iconographic sources that, with its contours, had operated equally to the texts, as creative or stiffener elements of representations. Thus being, privileging the use of sources of diverse natures, as well as weaveeing this movement in the approach that transcorre of the macro to the micron, standing out according to the first one, we assume characteristics theoretician-methodologicals that place our study in the dimensions of Cultural History. After the 1963 University World-wide Games realization, the clue found through this research points that some actions developed during the event didn't have continuation. This picture of abandon gets more intense when we put our look to the sports practicing public political elaboration in the city.

O tema da presente pesquisa é a competição esportiva escolar. Investigou-se as contribuições das competições esportivas para a formação e educação dos participantes, de forma específica sobre o caso dos Jogos Escolares de Petrolina (JEP), competição esportiva escolar desenvolvida a mais de 40 anos, e o seu impacto como instrumento de formação e educação das crianças e adolescentes da região. Para cumprir com os objetivos da investigação foram conduzidos três estudos. O primeiro estudo trata da Teoria e Metodologia das Competições Esportivas e do Modelo Teórico apresentado por Marques (2004), modelo este que defende a competição esportiva como elemento estruturante da educação e formação de crianças e jovens. O segundo estudo, de natureza histórica, abordou a criação dos JEP. Para tal, foram entrevistados os professores responsáveis pela criação dos JEP, utilizando um questionário construído em formato semiestruturado. O terceiro estudo, realizado com professores atuantes nos JEP, focalizou a realidade atual dos JEP. Através da aplicação de um questionário em formato semiestruturado foram investigadas as características, potencialidades e limitações dos JEP como elemento de formação e educação dos participantes. As competições esportivas são elementos insubstituíveis para a educação e formação dos participantes, porém, para que cumpram a sua função formativa e educacional, as competições devem ser organizadas por princípios, regras e conteúdos adequados à cada faixa etária. Os JEP foram criados a partir de determinação da secretaria de educação de Pernambuco, no início da década de 70. Nas edições iniciais os professores organizadores não receberam nenhum apoio dos órgãos governamentais, necessitando improvisar as condições dos locais de disputa, atuando como organizadores, árbitros e treinadores. Neste período foi fundamental o auxílio dos alunos, da direção das escolas e da comunidade de Petrolina. Através dos resultados obtidos nos três estudos que compõe a tese, foi possível responder a questão central da investigação: Quais as contribuições dos JEP para a formação e educação dos jovens atletas? Os JEP contribuem não apenas para a formação esportiva dos participantes, mas também com a construção e educação de valores, inerentes às competições esportivas, porém desejáveis em outros domínios da vida em sociedade. Entre eles destacam-se o “respeito às regras”, o “companheirismo”, o “prazer”, a “desportividade”, a “imagem pública”, a “tolerância”, o “ser justo”, a “autoestima”, o “ser vencedor” e a “realização pessoal”. O crescimento da “autoestima” dos atletas e a sensação de “realização pessoal” são aspectos muito presentes durante os JEP com reflexos que vão muito além do ambiente esportivo. Estes valores têm contribuído para a mudança de atitude de muitos atletas, expressos pela redução no abandono escolar, na maior tolerância entre os estudantes e na melhora no relacionamento familiar, percebidos pelos professores de outras disciplinas, pela direção das escolas e pelos familiares. / The topic of this research is the school sports competition. The contributions of sports competitions for training and education of participants were investigated specifically about the School Games of Petrolina (SGP), which is a school sports competition developed over 40 years ago and its impact as a training and education tool of children and adolescents in the region. Three studies were conducted to reach the research objectives. The first study deals with the Theory and Methodology of Sports Competitions and the Theoretical Model presented by Marques (2004). This model supports sports competition as a structural element of the education and training of children and youth. The second study, of historical nature, addressed the creation of the SGP. For this purpose, teachers responsible for creating the SGP were interviewed using a survey built in a semi-structured format. The third study, performed with teachers working in the SGP, focused on the current reality of the SGP. The characteristics, capabilities and limitations of the SGP as a training and education element of the participants, were investigated by applying a semi-structured format survey. The sports competitions are irreplaceable elements for education and training of participants, however, to fulfill its training and educational function, competitions should be organized by principles, rules and appropriated contents for each age group. The SGP was created by the Education Secretariat of Pernambuco in the early 70s. In the early editions, teachers, who were also organizing, received no support from government agencies, requiring them to improvise when it came to the conditions of the contest sites as well as acting out the roles of organizers, referees and coaches. During this period, the support coming from students, schools' management and Petrolina community was crucial. The results of the three studies that are part of this thesis enabled to answer the central question of this investigation: What are the contributions of the SGP for the training and education of young athletes? The SGP helps not only the participant's growth in sport, but also the build of values that are part of sports competitions and also desirable in other aspects of life. Some examples are "respect to rules", "partnership", "pleasure", "sportiness", "public image", "tolerance", "be fair", "self-esteem", "be a winner" and "personal fulfillment". The "self-esteem" growth on athletes and the feeling of "personal fulfillment" are aspects very present in the SGP, with implications that go far beyond the sport environment. These values have contributed to an attitude change of many athletes, expressed in terms of lower number of students leaving school, higher tolerance and better family relationship, aspects that were noticed by other teachers, school board and families.

O objetivo desta investigação é identificar e compreender as experiências esportivas significativas relatadas por atletas com deficiência visual. Através da análise fenomenológica de entrevistas de inspiração fenomenológica, realizadas com quatro atletas, busca-se apreender e descrever estas experiências vividas no nível fundamental das mesmas. Também se pretende localizar a relação destas experiências vividas durante a prática esportiva e a sua repercussão nas atitudes cotidianas destes atletas, como testemunho do fenômeno enquanto lembrado ou recordado. As experiências vividas no esporte por esses sujeitos possuem elementos comuns os quais também remetem à esfera da dimensão existencial deles. No esporte, os atletas podem vivenciar um momento de ampliação de sua condição, através da efetividade corporal, do senso de capacidade, da possibilidade de realização do desejo, este se tornando vontade perseverante frente às adversidades próprias do esporte. A prática esportiva dá essa oportunidade de efetividade corporal, de maneira intensa, realizadora e, sobretudo, compartilhada socialmente. Esses elementos comuns também podem ser encontrados nas experiências de outros sujeitos, com ou sem deficiência. No entanto, a novidade e a persistência da efetividade corporal implicada no horizonte vivido da condição existencial desses atletas é o que pode tornar o esporte fator existencialmente modificador e gradualmente significativo em suas vidas. Os atletas com deficiência visual, no esporte, experimentam uma situação de efetividade corporal e de ampliação, uma ampliação de sua condição existencial, da condição do corpo no mundo e, assim, pela modificação do encolhimento dessa esfera, experimentam a potencialização de seu ser no mundo / The purpose of this research is to identify and understand the reported meaningful sport experiences by athletes with visual disability. Through the phenomenological analysis of phenomenological interviews with four athletes, seeks to understand and describe these experiences in its fundamental level. Also we want to find the relationship of these lived experiences during sport and its effect on everyday attitudes of these athletes, as witness of the phenomenon as remembered or recalled. The experiences in the sport of these subjects have common elements which also refer to the sphere of existential dimension of them. In sports, athletes can experience a moment of enlargement of their condition, through the effectiveness body, the sense of capacity, the possibility of fulfillment of desire, this becoming persevering will in face of the owns adversities of sport. Sports practice gives the opportunity of effectiveness body, so intense, fulfilling and, above all, socially shared. These common elements can also be found in the experiences of other subjects, with or without disabilities. However, the novelty and the persistence of effectiveness body involved in the lived horizon of the existential condition of these athletes is what can make the sport as aspect existentially modifying and gradually meaningful in their lives. Athletes with visual impairment, in sports, experiencing an effectiveness of the body and an enlargement, an enlargement of their existential condition, the condition of the body in the world and thus the modification of the shrinkage of this sphere, they experience the potential of their being in world

Em 2002 a produção total de pescado no mundo foi de 133,0 milhões de toneladas. No Brasil, o volume total desembarcado foi de 822,2 mil toneladas, sendo cerca de 26,5% provenientes da pesca em água doce. A represa do Lobo-Broa (Itirapina, Brotas, SP; 22°15’S, 47°49’W) pode ter a sustentabilidade de seus recursos pesqueiros comprometida devido à proximidade de cidades como São Carlos e Itirapina. O objetivo geral deste trabalho foi estudar as pescarias esportivas e suas artes, realizar pescarias experimentais e estudar as composições das capturas de ambas pescarias. O trabalho foi apresentado em oito capítulos: (1) apresentação, (2) caracterização sócio-econômica dos pescadores esportivos, (3) descrição das capturas das pescarias esportivas, (4) descrição das capturas das pescarias experimentais, (5) análises estatísticas sobre as ambas, (6) estudo preliminar da seletividade das redes de emalhar utilizadas nas pescarias experimentais, (7) manejo de recursos pesqueiros em reservatórios e (8) considerações finais e recomendações. Entre setembro e novembro de 2004 foram aplicados 38 questionários para avaliação sócio-econômica dos pescadores esportivos e estes indicaram que as pescarias são praticadas principalmente por homens cujo padrão de vida se assemelha à média populacional do país. Entre setembro de 2002 a setembro de 2004 foram realizadas 1027 entrevistas sobre as capturas nos três principais locais de pescarias esportivas (praia, píer e horto florestal). As pescarias esportivas são praticadas com vara de pescar simples e com molinete, principalmente no horto florestal, local que apresentou maiores as cpues e onde foi registrado o maior esforço pesqueiro. A captura foi composta de Ciclídeos (cará, Geophagus brasiliensis, tilápia do Nilo, Oreochromis niloticus, tilápia do Congo, Tilapia rendalli e tucunaré Cichla monoculus), principalmente, embora a represa não tenha elevada produtividade pesqueira. A sazonalidade e o uso de isca/ceva não se mostraram estatisticamente significativos. Para avaliação da composição da ictiofauna da represa, foram realizadas sete pescarias experimentais entre novembro de 2002 e setembro de 2004 em três locais (horto/Itaqueri, meio e barragem), utilizando redes de emalhar. As espécies que tiveram maiores capturas relativas foram o cará e o lambari rabo amarelo (Astyanax altiparanae) e a região com maiores capturas relativas foi o horto/Itaqueri. A sazonalidade e a variação diuturna não foram significativas estatisticamente. Buscou-se detectar os fatores e a covariável estatisticamente significativos (P<0,05) sobre as capturas dos estudos acima, testando-se dois modelos de análise de covariância com três fatores (3 way ANCOVA). O estudo da seletividade das redes de emalhar para cada espécie por abertura de malha mostrou que as redes foram seletivas para os lambaris rabo amarelo e rabo vermelho (Astyanax scabripinnis paranae), sagüiru (Cyphocharax modesta) e cará. Para tuvira (Gymnotus carapo), cascudo (Hypostomus sp) e mandi (Pimelodella cf gracilis) esta arte não foi seletiva. Com base nos estudos acima, concluiu-se que as pescarias esportivas deveriam ser incentivadas visando o aumento do turismo na região e da produtividade pesqueira da represa. Porém, faz-se urgente a conscientização para que a ceva para os peixes deixe de ser utilizada, pois esta prática não aumenta as capturas e contribui para o processo de eutrofização represa / In 2002 the total production of fish in the world was 133,0 million tons. In Brazil, the total volume of fish was of 822,2 thousand tons, with 26,5% coming from freshwater fisheries. The Lobo-Broa reservoir (Itirapina, Brotas, SP; 22°15'S, 47°49'W), can have the sustainability of their fishing resources changed due to the proximity of cities as São Carlos and Itirapina. The general objective of this work was to study the sporting fisheries and their fishing gears, to do experimental fisheries and to study the compositions of the captures of both studies. The work was presented in eight chapters: (1) presentation, (2) socioeconomic characterization of the sporting fishermen, (3) description of the captures of the sporting fisheries, (4) description of the captures of the experimental fisheries, (5) statistical analyses on the both fisheries, (6) preliminary survey of the selectivity of the gillnets used in the experimental fisheries, (7) handling of fishing resources in reservoirs and (8) final considerations and recommendations. Among September and November of 2004 it was applied 38 questionnaires for socioeconomic evaluation of the sporting fishermen and these indicated that the fisheries are practiced mainly by men whose standard of living resembles each other to the population average of the country. Among September of 2002 to September of 2004, 1027 interviews were did on the captures in the three main places of sporting fisheries (praia, píer and horto florestal). The sporting fisheries are practiced with simple fishing rod and with reel, mainly in horto florestal, place that presented larger captures and where was concentrated the largest fishing effort. The capture is composed of Ciclídeos (cará, Geophagus brasiliensis, tilápia do Nilo, Oreochromis niloticus, tilápia do Congo, Tilapia rendalli and tucunaré Cichla monoculus), mainly, although the reservoir has not elevated fishing productivity. The seasonal variation and the bait use were not shown statistically significant. For fish fauna composition evaluation of the reservoir, seven experimental fisheries were accomplished between November of 2002 and September of 2004 in three places (horto/Itaqueri, meio and barragem), using gillnets. The species that had larger relative captures were the cará and the lambari rabo amarelo (Astyanax altiparanae) and the area with larger relative captures was the horto/Itaqueri. The seasonal variation and the daytime-nighttime variation were not statistically significant. It was detected the factors and the covariates statistically significant (P<0,05) on the captures of the studies above, being tested two models of analysis of covariance with three factors (3 way ANCOVA). The selectivity of the gillnets study for each species, for mesh size showed that the nets were selective for the lambari rabo amarelo, lambari rabo vermelho (Astyanax scabripinnis paranae), sagüiru (Cyphocharax modesta) and cará. For species as tuvira (Gymnotus carapo), cascudo (Hypostomus sp) and mandi (Pimelodella cf gracilis) this fishing gear was not selective. It was believed that the sporting fisheries should be motivated aiming the increment of the tourism in the area and increase of the fishing productivity of the reservoir. A larger understanding of the fishermen is urgent so that the bait stop being used, once this practice doesn't increase the captures and contributed to the eutrofication process in the reservoir

The renaissance came with the trajectory of neoinstitutionalism, guided by the social bias that starts to approach the study of institutions with the outside look inside the organizations, considering its organizational field, its actors and the universe in which this institution is allotted. In the field of sports management studies, researchers at both the international and national levels use this theory to justify phenomena that occur with sports organizations. In this work, the study will be guided by the institutionalization of a sports entity of the universe of Brazilian basketball, the Women's Basketball League. Because this entity has undergone three distinct processes since its foundation, provoking successive organizational rearrangements, the research points out the influences of its organizational field, where interferences of the external and internal environments of the organization, provoke its incontinuity. The single case study used interviews with actors from the organizational field, analysis of documentary content and direct observation by the researcher. Among the results, it was observed that there was intention of the LBF to reproduce a pre-existing structure in the male basketball, which would characterize the phenomenon as mimetic isomorphism, but after analysis and discussion it was characterized as coercive isomorphism. In the transition from the first phase to the second phase of the process studied, the LBF suffered political and social pressures that resulted in the rearrangement of its structure, the second phase of transition characterized by interferences of political, social and functional pressures. On legitimacy, it is understood that the institution is recognized by its main leaders, the clubs, and needs to strengthen the relationship with society. The application of this study is reinforced by the social orientation of the neoinstitutionalism with the focus on the organizational field of Brazilian basketball. It is proposed as a managerial intervention the execution of sports projects aimed at the basketball community in partnership with clubs that participate in the LBF. / A teoria institucional retomou o cenário das pesquisas em administração no meio acadêmico. O renascimento veio com a trajetória do neoinstitucionalismo, orientada pelo viés social que passa a abordar o estudo das instituições com o olhar de fora para dentro das organizações, considerando seu campo organizacional, seus atores e o universo em que essa instituição está alocado. Na área de estudos da gestão do esporte, pesquisadores tanto em nível internacional como nacional utilizam essa teoria para justificar fenômenos que acontecem com organizações esportivas. Neste trabalho, o estudo será norteado pela institucionalização de uma entidade esportiva do universo do basquete brasileiro, a Liga de Basquete Feminino. Pelo fato dessa entidade ter passado por três processos distintos desde sua fundação, provocando rearranjos organizacionais sucessivos, a pesquisa aponta as influências do seu campo organizacional, onde interferências dos ambientes externo e interno da organização, provocam sua incontinuidade. O estudo de caso único utilizou entrevistas com atores do campo organizacional, análise de conteúdo documental e observação direta pelo pesquisador. Entre os resultados encontrados, percebeu-se que havia intenção da LBF reproduzir uma estrutura pré-existente no basquete masculino, o que caracterizaria o fenômeno como isomorfismo mimético, porém após análise e discussão caracterizou-se como isomorfismo coercitivo. Na transição da primeira fase para a segunda fase do processo estudado, a LBF sofreu pressões políticas e sociais que resultaram no rearranjo da sua estrutura. A segunda fase de transição caracteriza-se por interferências de pressões políticas, sociais e funcionais. Sobre a legitimidade, entende-se que a instituição é reconhecida pelos seus principais responsáveis, os clubes, e necessita estreitar a relação com a sociedade. A aplicação deste estudo é reforçada pela orientação social do neoinstitucionalismo com o foco no campo organizacional do basquete brasileiro. Propõe-se como intervenção gerencial a execução de projetos esportivos voltados para a comunidade do basquete em parceria com clubes que participam da LBF.

[pt] A qualidade do discurso mercadológico é fator determinante para o sucesso de uma empresa, tendo as marcas não só a necessidade de se comunicar, mas também de serem relevantes, de somarem aos projetos de vida dos consumidores. Em um contexto de grande importância econômica das marcas de artigos esportivos, este estudo tem como objetivo analisar os diversos significados produzidos nos vídeos das marcas Adidas, Nike e Under Armour no período olímpico e pré-olímpico de 2016. Em outras palavras, pretende-se apresentar os significados produzidos pelas marcas bem como os mecanismos discursivos utilizados em suas peças de comunicação veiculadas em seus respectivos canais no YouTube. A pesquisa tem como base a teoria do cultural branding, em especial os trabalhos de Douglas Holt, e as aplicações da semiótica discursiva no marketing e no branding, com destaque para as contribuições de Jean-Marie Floch e Andrea Semprini. Os resultados sugerem que essas marcas exploram em suas narrativas as similaridades entre esportistas famosos e seus enunciatários-consumidores. Não obstante o uso de diferentes mecanismos discursivos, as três marcas cujos vídeos foram analisados desenvolvem narrativas de superação que, em uma construção mítica, conciliam os valores de igualdade e diferenciação. / [en] The quality of the marketing discourse is a decisive factor in a company s success, meaning that on top of communicating with their consumers, brands need to be relevant to them, adding up to their life projects. In a context where sports brands have significant economic relevance, this study analyzes the different meanings brought by the campaigns of three brands: Adidas, Nike and Under Armour, before and during the 2016 Olympic Games. In other words, this paper aims not only to identify the meanings produced by the brands but also discuss the discursive mechanisms used in their pieces of communication broadcasted in their respective channels on YouTube. The research is based on the theory of cultural branding, focusing on Douglas Holt s work, and the application of discursive semiotics in marketing and branding, emphasizing the contributions of Jean-Marie Floch and Andrea Semprini in this particular field of study. The results of the analysis suggest that these brands explore in their narratives the similarities between famous athletes and their consumers. Moreover, despite the use of different discursive mechanisms, all three brands developed stories about the process of overcoming a situation which, in a mythical construction, reconciles the values of equality and differentiation.

A pesquisa busca refletir sobre a produção do espaço urbano, e suas contradições a partir do estudo das Franquias Oficiais de Mercadorias Esportivas em espaços do comércio e do consumo no Estado de São Paulo, que a nosso ver, contribuem para reprodução do urbano. Historicamente, o futebol realizava-se em espaços públicos e abertos, enquanto momento de sociabilidade. Contemporaneamente, embora a presença nesses espaços não tenha desaparecido, estão subjulgados pelo crescente processo de urbanização; ao mesmo tempo, verifica-se que o futebol vem se reproduzindo fora do âmbito jogo, por meio da estratégia de grandes clubes paulistas que buscam um aumento de suas receitas através da expansão de lojas franqueadas, o que revela a transformação dos clubes e do próprio futebol, em signos do consumo. Dessa maneira, a sociabilidade a partir do futebol se torna tanto mediada por mercadorias quanto realizada em espaços-mercadoria como shopping-center, por exemplo. O atual estágio em que o capitalismo se encontra amplia a produção de espaços para consumo massificado, como consequência da vitória do valor de troca sobre o valor de uso. / The research aims to reflect on the production of urban space and its contradictions from the study of Official Franchising of Sports Goods in spaces of trade and consumption in the State of São Paulo. Historically, soccer was realized in public or open spaces, while moment of sociability. Contemporaneously, although the presence of these spaces has not disappeared, they are overwhelmed by the increasing urbanization process; the same time, it appears that soccer has been reproducing outside the game, through the strategy of top clubs from São Paulo who seek an increase of its revenues through the expansion of franchised stores, which shows the transformation of the clubs and their own soccer, in signs of consumption. Thus, sociability from soccer becomes as mediated by commodity as realized in commodity-spaces like shopping mall, for example. The current stage in which capitalism is expands production of spaces for mass consumption, as a result of the victory of exchange value over use value.
