<p>I Bosnien och Hercegovina har det i 15 år pågått en segregering mellan tre nationer, bosnier, kroater och serber. I detta arbete har jag valt att närmare studera segregation mellan bosniska och kroatiska ungdomar i Stolac. Syftet med denna undersökning var att ta reda på varför denna etniska segregation fortfarande är så djup och hur ungdomarna ser på denna segregation, men även att ta reda på hur man kan motarbeta denna uppdelning. Genom att göra sex personliga intervjuer, fyra med ungdomar och två med lärare på skolorna i Stolac, enkätundersökningen och deltagande observation fick jag större inblick i segregationen i Stolac. Men även anledningar till segregations bevaring, vad ungdomarna tycker om den här uppdelningen och vad de tycker hur man borde motarbeta detta. De teorier och sociologiska begrepp som jag använde mig av är etnicitet, segregation och Gemeinschaft och Gesellschaft.</p>

<p>In this composition we will treat issues about intercultural approach and managing diversity in Swedish municipal/public school. This survey includes several theories and conceptions as ethnicity, culture, multiplicity/managing diversity and intercultural approach/multiculturalism.</p><p>We studied two different schools and their awareness concerning intercultural approach and managing diversity . The study is concentrating on two schools in two different communities. One of the schools had a greater ethnic multiplicity than the other school, and therefore, we thought, it seemed easier for them to accept an intercultural approach and managing diversity. But that was not the whole truth. We discovered, through some governmental printed documents on laws and directed contributions focused on multiplicity/managing diversity in Swedish municipal/public schools, that the first mentioned school had received a governmental contribution aimed to make it possible to develop the multiplicity work even further had an access to governmental contributions aimed to make it possible to develop the multiplicity work. Our conclusion, based on this limited survey, is that an intercultural approach is not given in Swedish municipal/public school.</p>

<p>Syftet med uppsatsen är att studera styrdokument- från nationell till lokal nivå- vad gäller synen på etnisk och kulturell mångfald i skolan. Min ambition är även att med utgångspunkt från befintliga styrdokument undersöka hur skolledare på en skola i Eskilstuna tolkar styrdokument beträffande mångfald samt hur de tillämpar sina tolkningar i verksamheten. Samspelet mellan mångfald som direktiv samt dess förverkligande är således uppsatsen röda tråd. Studien har inspirerats av det hermeneutiska perspektivet och närmar sig mångfaldsbegreppet genom textstudier och intervjuer.</p><p>Studien visar för det första att Lpo94, Eskilstuna kommuns skol- och verksamhetsplan framhåller värdet av kulturell och etnisk mångfald. Dock kan ingen definition på mångfaldsbegreppet utrönas. Här finns även oklara direktiv ifråga om hur ett mångfaldsarbete ska bedrivas i skolan. För det andra visar studien att skolledarna har svårigheter att tolka ovannämnda styrdokument utifrån ett mångfaldsperspektiv, detta trots att dessa fungerar som verksamhetens ledstjärnor. Däremot kan skolledarna definiera vad mångfaldsarbete är för dem, vilket står i polemik mot förmågan att tolka styrdokumenten. Något framgångsrikt mångfaldsarbete sker således inte. Varför är det så svårt att tolka och implementera styrdokumenten utifrån ett mångfaldsperspektiv?</p>

<p>Som pedagog är det viktigt att välja läromedel som uppfyller det åtagande som gäller enligt Skolverkets styrdokument. Detta för att det förstås inte bara är pedagogerna som påverkar elevernas värderingar utan även innehållet i de läromedel som används påverkar eleverna i stor utsträckning. Det kanske t.o.m. är så att det är den enda litteratur som eleverna kommer i kontakt med. Därför är det viktigt att innehållet uppfyller kraven som ställs på goda läroböcker.</p><p>Är det då så att det finns ett interkulturellt perspektiv i alla läroböcker? Detta är angeläget att ta reda på eftersom de flesta pedagoger med stor sannolikhet antar att även läromedlen utgår ifrån ett interkulturellt perspektiv.</p> / <p>The purpose of this study is to show in which way the intercultural conception is presented in schoolbooks for the Swedish senior high school used in the teaching of Swedish. My definition of the intercultural conception includes ethnicity, sexuality, class and gender. This is important to find out as the Swedish school has an important democratic commission to fulfill.</p><p>The method I used for this is a qualitative text analysis. The study covers two basic schoolbooks used in the teaching of Swedish.</p><p>The result of the study shows that the writers have good intention, for example to include people with other sexuality than heterosexuality and people with other ethnicity than Swedish. But even with the good intention there are still stereotype patterns present. The study also finds that the examined schoolbooks for the Swedish senior high school completely exclude some people from the books.</p>

<p>The purpose of this thesis was to investigate in which way samis in Stockholm relate to their identity in lack of their language. Four sami living in Stockholm have been interviewed. Furthermore, books, laws, and rules regarding the language and living of the samis are investigated.</p><p>It is shown that historical factors and episodes still are the bases of how they are influenced and relate to their identity, group belonging, and ethnicity.</p><p>The questions of the principles behind ones identifying as a sami, and if there is any difference compared to the corresponding principles of the rest of the society, are also dealt with.</p><p>It is clearly shown that Samis are not an outdated people, but rather a people that follow the general social and technical development.</p><p>It is concluded that samis who live and grow up in Stockholm today which don’t practice reindeer husbandry and lack the sami language, have difficulties in feeling fully acceptance in there identity as samis.</p>

<p>This study aims to investigate, describe and discuss the views of group new arrived pupils from the preparatory training to the compulsory school level. They all came to Sweden and started in the preparatory training there they also started studying Swedish as a second language. This study aims to investigate the creation of identities and how the pupils socialize in the Swedish school. The study has been conducted with respect to the pupil´s own perspectives and what they consider important.</p><p>The methods used are interviews together with an interpreter. Their voices are used and described in this paper. Their names and the school´s name have been used anonymous. One must take into consideration that there is no objective of being neutral or to generalize the results to any other group.</p><p>The pupils are convinced that second language acquisition is the key to success although their first language - the Arabic language is still symbolized as their identity. They are still working on their identities, their language acquisition and adaptation to expectations in different situations. They always will be seen as multidimensional personalities. </p><p> </p>

<p>This essay is a qualitative study about Swedish fire-fighters´ ideas of women and people from other ethnic backgrounds than Swedish. The problem in focus is why there are difficulties for those groups of people to be employed in the Swedish fire service. Can there be ideas of these groups which are not favourable for them? And if this is the case, can those ideas be explained by gender theory about construction of masculinity? The purpose is to investigate whether the absence of women and people from other ethnic backgrounds can be explained by the fire-fighters´ ideas of those groups. The study consisted of a one day observation and four one hour long interviews with fire-fighters from different positions within the Swedish fire service. Analysis has shown that there are ideas of women and people from other ethnic backgrounds which can make it harder for those groups to be employed in this organization. Ideas of women are for example that women have both weaker physical and mental conditions and that this can cause problems in serious rescue operations. Ideas of people from other ethnic backgrounds than Swedish are for example that those have a different view of the Swedish fire service and that this view can be hard to match with the Swedish one.</p>
