Obraz ženy v tištěných médiích v meziválečném Československu / Image of woman in print media in interwar Czechoslovakia

Zamazalová, Michaela January 2014 (has links)
1 Abstract The thesis "The image of a woman in the press at interwar Czechoslovakia" deals with the visual presentation of a woman who was an integral part of the First Republic press. The thesis attempts to provide an analysis of selected periodicals (magazines especially for women) in terms of the depiction of women. The thesis surveys the changes in society and lifestyle in this epoch of our history which complements the cultural-historical background of the time and familiarity with contemporary press. The thesis focuses primarily on issues of women's emancipation, which were at that time very current and projected also into all areas of the art. Emancipation influenced significantly the whole Czech artistic creation. We can find some evidence especially in the press, which also mediated the reflection of period. The thesis focuses only on the most important press at these times with regard to its scope. Eva revue was especially important for emancipatory efforts and is compared here with men's magazine Gentleman and avant-garde magazine ReD. The main part of the thesis focuses on the actual image of women, generally and in specific cases. The thesis deals with the image of a woman in selected sections of the interwar women's magazines - fashion, sport and motoring. The thesis compares some newspapers...

Comparative pilot study of 3D Manufactured and Conventional Manufactured Custom Made Foot Orthotics when looking at Plantar Pressure Distribution and Comfort in adults

Mågård-Hansen, Alexander, Sejersen, Camilla Louise January 2024 (has links)
Background 3D manufacturing is a newer technology that shows potential and has gained interest in the world of medical devices. It has been used to produce custom made foot orthotics (CFO)s, but little evidence on the biomechanical effects is available. The literature suggests that the 3D manufactured CFOs (3DMCFO) have comparable outcomes as conventional manufactured CFOs (CMCFO). Purpose The purpose of this pilot study was to investigate biomechanics and comfort in the 3D manufacturing method, because of the lack of biomechanical evidence in literature, and because comfortable orthotics are a prerequisite for an optimal foot orthosis. Methods This pilot project uses a randomized crossover study design to test if there is a difference in plantar pressure distribution and comfort between 3DMCFOs and CMCFOs on two participants (n=2). To investigate the plantar pressure distribution the F-scan® in-shoe sensors was used to measure peak plantar pressures. To evaluate comfort the Orthosis Comfort Score (OCS) was used. Result For both participants similar results of mean peak pressures could be seen in some areas in the two CFOs, where in other areas contradictory results were seen. The comfort in the two CFOs was similar. Conclusion Similarities was seen in plantar pressure distribution and comfort in the two CFOs in both participants. However, the validity and reliability are low because of the low number of participants. For at undersøge trykfordeling under foden bruges F- scan® indlæg-sensor, for komfort bruges The Orthosis Comfort Score.

Messan, Adamah 08 December 2006 (has links) (PDF)

Visões do feminino: a criação de Eva nos mosteiros da Coimbra medieval (séculos XII-XIII) / View of the feminine figure: the Creation of Eve in the monasteries of medieval Coimbra (12th and 13th centuries)

Santos Neto, Regina Celia dos 14 March 2008 (has links)
The present work approaches the medieval understanding of the theme of the Creation of Eve through the study of manuscript illuminations, and particularly those in the most important monasteries of Coimbra, in the Kingdom of Portugal, in the 12th and 13th Centuries. The tension between the flesh and the spirit, and between the masculine and the feminine essential elements of the medieval mentality- essential elements of the medieval mentality - will be explored based on images and debates related to Creation, Original Sin and the daily life as experienced through the senses, producing a polysemic view of the feminine figure in medieval Portugal.
