The role of the principal in maintaining a harmonious working environment : an investigation into "legal" staff bullying by the school management team in Ekurhuleni North District high schools

Binduko, Samuel 06 1900 (has links)
Workplace bullying studies have gathered an increasing impetus among researchers throughout the world in the last decade. Previous research has concentrated on bullying in the context of students. Recent research has shifted focus towards workplace bullying of staff by managers. Little is known of upwards bullying where staff members bully managers or students bully their teachers. In this study, workplace bullying focuses on the bullying of teaching staff by the School Management Team. The researcher used the qualitative method for this study. Questionnaires were administered to 80 teachers. Interviews were held with eight members of the School Management Team (SMT) and ten teachers who perceived that they had been subjected to bullying. Data was coded and arranged thematically using Colaizzi’s (1978) phenomenological method of analysis. Results indicate that bullying of the teaching staff thrives in all schools but with varying degrees to certain teachers who are vulnerable due to social and environmental circumstances. The researcher recommends that schools identify cases of bullying and develop an anti- bullying policy that is incorporated in the whole school development strategy. / Educational Leadership and Management / M. Konfuciánský ideál harmonického společenství podle norem rodu Wu z Mingzhou / The Confucian Ideal of Harmonious Community according to the Norms of the Wu Lineage from Mingzhou

Vázal, Michal January 2011 (has links)
1 Michal Vázal: The Confucian Ideal of Harmonious Community according to the Norms of the Wu Lineage from Mingzhou Abstract Abstract: This paper aims to characterize the structure and values produced by rituals in a kinship community, and how these characteristics subsequently helped to shape a harmoniously working community and its ideological relationship with the state in terms of local governance. The rituals in question are partially confined in time and place, as they are observed on one particular community, and are examined only in the extent of the primary source named "The Norms and Rituals of the Wu Lineage of Mingzhou" (Mingzhou Wu Shi Jiadian) - a ritual manual authored mainly by Wu Di (died 1736) from the village of Mingzhou, which belonged to the Huizhou prefecture (the south of the present day Anhui province). On the other hand, this text is largely based on Zhu Xi's "Family Rituals" (Jiali) which were viewed across the country as the ritual standard. The most essential rituals used to govern the lineage were coming of age ritual, wedding rituals, funeral rituals and sacrifices to ancestors. A unifying principle behind the structure and values these rituals created was seniority. The lineage structure was created mainly by the system in which the branches of firstborn sons were superiors to...

Aménagement du territoire, levier de développement durable : étude comparée des systèmes d'innovation français et sud-coréens dans le processus de métropolisation / Spatial planning as a driving force for sustainable development : comparative study of French and South Korean innovation systems in the metropolization process

Park, Jiyeon 20 October 2016 (has links)
Faire métropole est très souvent associée à l’aménagement d’un vaste territoire, ce qui le limite à la simple recherche d’un périmètre ou d’une échelle pertinents. Or, elle implique bien davantage. / The development of a Metropolis is very often associated with the construction of a vast territory, which limits it to the simple search for a pertinent perimeter or level. It implies, however, much more. The French intercommunality, that opens up to various forms of cooperation between different territorial entities, is an interesting approach in this respect. France is, indeed, often presented aborad as an example of cooperation and of decentralization, especially in countries with a strong centralizing tradition, such as South Korea. In this perspective, we will carry out comparative case studies mirroring the process of metropolisation in France and in South Korea. Our study seeks to illustrate how to structure the innovation system (IS) according to the co-construction scheme PAS, making it possible, among otherthings, to co-create an ecosystem of exchange, sharing and arbitration -and thus serving as a driving force and optimizing force in an urban system of specialization. Finally, our study aims at orienting spatial planning towards the integrated approach of sustainable development.

Samband mellan Mental Health Literacy och idrottares psykologiska hälsostatus: : En longitudinell sambandsstudie baserad på idrottare / Relationship between Mental Health Literacy and athletes'psychological health status: : A longitudinal relationship study based on athletes

Osdautaj, Seadra, Pelmas, Jessica January 2022 (has links)
The purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between Mental Health Literacy (MHL) and psychological health and illness through the variables emotional and physical exhaustion, anxiety, depression, muscle dysmorphia, well-being in sports, harmonious and obsessive passion. More specifically, the purpose was to investigate whether MHL can predict psychological health and illness. Previous studies have shown a significant relationship between athletes' Mental Health Literacy (MHL) and their psychological health, the research indicates that low levels of MHL lead to poorer psychological health compared to those who rate high MHL (Kutcher et al., 2016). A quantitative longitudinal research design was used in this study and a total of 70 athletes aged 15–35 years participated (M = 23.7, SD = 5.69). Participants were recruited via an availability sample and answered a questionnaire on two measurement occasions, which contained six questionnaires. The results indicate that there is no relationship over time between MHL and psychological health. More specifically, the results indicate that neither low or high levels of MHL can predict an athlete's future psychological health. The results of the present study highlight that there are good reasons for more research about the relationship between MHL and psychological health in sports.

EFFICIENTNEXT: EFFICIENTNET FOR EMBEDDED SYSTEMS

Abhishek Rajendra Deokar (12456477) 12 July 2022 (has links)
<p>Convolutional Neural Networks have come a long way since  AlexNet. Each year the limits of the state of the art are being pushed to new  levels. EfficientNet pushed the performance metrics to a new high and EfficientNetV2 even more so. Even so, architectures for mobile applications can benefit from improved accuracy and reduced model footprint. The classic Inverted Residual block has been the foundation upon which most mobile networks seek to improve. EfficientNet architecture is built using the same Inverted Residual block. In this paper we experiment with Harmonious Bottlenecks in  place of the Inverted Residuals to observe a reduction in the number of parameters and improvement in accuracy. The designed network is then deployed on the NXP i.MX 8M Mini board for Image classification.</p>

The Development of a Three Minute Realtime Sampling Method to Measure Social Harmony during Interactions between Parents and their Toddlers with Autism

Cunningham, Isabel L. 08 1900 (has links)
Training parents of a child with autism to increase the frequency of their child's social behavior may improve the quality of parent-child interactions. The purpose of this methodological study was to develop a direct observation method for rapidly sampling social harmony between parents and their toddlers with autism during parent training interactions. The current study used a pre and post probe design, with benchmark comparisons to test the discriminability of the measurement protocol across two sets of data. The first set of data came from pre and post training videos from a parent training program for children with a diagnosis of autism or at risk for a diagnosis. The second set of data came from videos of typically developing toddlers and their parents. The results of the study show that the measurement system differentiated in the level of harmonious engagement between the benchmark sample and the sample including children diagnosed with autism. The results are discussed in the context of future directions and the utility of the measurement system for behavior analytic practices in parent training and other settings where rapport and complex interactional behaviors are an intervention priority.
