Michel, Ernst Jean Robert 05 1900 (has links)
Our analysis of the theological discourse relates the characteristic traits of Afro-descendants in the Atabaque and the Conférence Haïtienne des Religieux et Religieuses (CHR) research work. These publications are used to bring to light the Afro-Brazilian and Haitian theological reflection as an expression of their commitment to multicultural and mestizo Brazil as well as black Haiti. They refer to the struggle of Afro-descendants and their resistance against what they consider to be the consequences of the period of slavery. What begun in the 16th century still oppresses Blacks in the 21st century and prevents their full emancipation. They are engaged in a post-colonialist approach to change which includes enculturation, recognition of African religions are an essential strength in their quest for full freedom of Blacks. Our approach, based on the comparative study of the content of these theologies developed in Brazil and in Haiti, highlights two separate currents from 1986 to 2004 in theological databases. This delimitation corresponds to the phase of publication of results of three consultations about black theologies in Brazil in 1986, in 1995 and 2004. The CHR’s works date from 1991 to 1999. Our study aims to trace their practice of the Christian faith, as well as their development and their evolution. Teologia Negra and Haitian theology represent two distinct black theologies. A comparison of the two contexts has never been made. This research led to the fact that three paradigms can encompass the major aspect of Afro-Brazilian and Haitian theological currents. We note the convergences and divergences of paradigms of the liberating enculturation, the post-colonialism and religious plurality. Afro-Brazilian theological reflection is seen as a socio-political approach above all anchored in the promotion of positive action to promote integration of Blacks, relatively a minority in a multicultural society. In Haiti, where Blacks are in majority, this theological reflection goes in the direction of the safeguarding of the historic roots to motivate change in a black society. This approach the issue of Blacks, interpreted in a new light, offer new avenues for theological reflection while strengthening cultural claims of the Afro-Brazilians and the Afro-Haitians to develop a new theological discourse. Our theory helps highlight two institutions committed to the cause of the Afro-Brazilians and the Afro-Haitians. The work of the Atabaque and the CHR testifies that they were likely to act collectively in contributing to the diversity of theological reflection of afro-descendants by supporting a process of solidarity between permanent victims of racism whether explicit or implicit. Our study raises the possibility of developing a meeting of black theology while taking on the challenge of building a network Brazil-Haiti regarding Afro-descendants. Finally, the specificity of these theologies can help inspire Latin American Christianity. This reflection is not limited only to these two countries, but extends to other Latin American or African contexts.

In order to achieve this goal, we analyzed the set of scholastic attitudes present in the Academia de Comércio Saldanha , which was founded by the anarchist João Penteado, trying to recognize some continuity in the remaining of this experiment, between the years of 1920 and 1945. The temporal selection is justified by the encompassing period of intense debate about education issues in Brazil. To this analysis, we utilized the school journals, João Penteado s manuscripts and the scholastic administrative documentation which are current located at the Centro de Memória da Escola da Universidade de São Paulo (Memorial Center of the São Paulo University s School). We tried to link the anarchist proposal continuity to the resistance forms present in the liberating associations, understanding them as part of the ideal and culture of the anarchist period / Essa dissertação tem por objetivo demonstrar a permanência dos princípios e métodos racionalistas sobrevivendo ao fechamento das Escolas Modernas de São Paulo, estabelecendo uma discussão com a historiografia brasileira, que considera essa experiência encerrada em 1919.

The Bible and literature: a case of biblical influence in some Shona novels

Mapara, Jacob 30 November 2003 (has links)
A lot has been written on the development of the Shona novel and the influence of orature on it. This research while acknowledging the importance of such an observation makes yet another one. This other view is that there is also another element that has had a significant impact on the development and growth of the Shona novel. This research has endeavoured to highlight that the Shona novel is a product of the society where it is found which is influenced by The Bible. The novelists Chakaipa, Chidzero, Makari, Musengezi, Tsodzo, Zvarevashe and Ngugi wa Thiong'o's A Grain of Wheat which has been translated into Shona as Tsanga Yembeu have used The Bible as the backbone of their novels. Although these novelists have all used The Bible they have not used it in the same way and for the same purpose. They have used The Bible to justify the themes embedded in their works. This research at the end shows that it is difficult to label a literary product as either a success or a failure. / African Languages / M.A. (African Languages)

Alkoholistin ja hänen läheisensä samanaikainen toipuminen vapauttavana oppimisprosessina Minnesota-hoidossa

Oinas-Kukkonen, H. (Heikki) 18 November 2013 (has links)
Abstract This dissertation investigates the treatment of alcoholism and its related codependences using the Minnesota model, which defines alcoholism as a disease. This study seeks to recognize the stages of alcoholism, from the rise and deepening of alcoholism and its codependences through recovery, and to determine the keys to this recovery as viewed by patients and their family members. Based on experiential and transformative learning theories, a new learning model for explaining this recovery is suggested. A content analysis of empirical survey data obtained from a Minnesota-model-based treatment home over 10 years is carried out. The survey respondents are 173 patients and 125 of their family members. In this survey, the respondents describe their problems with substance dependence and codependence, explain their attempts to resolve these problems, characterize their recovery (or lack thereof) and provide their views on the treatment’s success factors. The results suggest that it is essential for patients and family members to obtain knowledge and adopt a new perception of substance dependence and codependences. The starting point, to consider alcoholism as a disease, opens up a new avenue of thinking, which liberates an alcoholic from agony and enables them to utilize previous life experiences as a bridge to move from only knowing the phenomenon to the active path of recovery. A key prerequisite for recovery is an analytical walkthrough of one’s own experiences from the drinking period based on this new understanding. Peer support provided by therapists and other patients who have been freed from alcohol dependence is also found to be essential for patients. The treatment’s special characteristics, which are close encounters with family members and a carefully planned one-year follow-up treatment, are also found to be very important. A new conceptual model is suggested to explain the results. The model is an experiential and transformative learning process model with theoretical roots in learning theories from Mezirow and Kolb. The birth and deepening of substance dependence and codependences is known as ‘capturing learning’ and, correspondingly, the recovery is known as ‘liberating learning’. This explanatory model emphasizes simultaneous collaboration- and peer-support-based recovery for family members and patients. Building upon the work of Jellinek, a new recovery curve, which is characteristically spiral and non-symmetric, is presented for both groups as an integral part of the model. This research has significant practical implications. The results of this study suggest that in addition to traditional approaches to treat alcoholism, which emphasize psychiatry, psychology and other mental health aspects, it is feasible to adopt the new learning-based treatment paradigm suggested here.

Manažerský řídicí systém a styl řízení / Management control systems and management style

Štěrbáková, Dominika January 2016 (has links)
The main concern of this master thesis is in the relation between management control systems and management style. In particular it is the management style called liberating leadership, which is characteristic for so called democratic companies, that is subject of the research. The main goal of this thesis is to examine whether it is possible to establish management control systems in such companies given the principles they are built on. Further question is whether and eventually how this management style should be reflected in management control system. The answer to the latter question is introduced using also the outcomes of survey conducted among the executives of companies that endorse the principles of democratic workplace.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Sandra Regina Luvisetto do Nascimento.pdf: 1743560 bytes, checksum: 33d562c15521acb5b721904be92682c0 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2017-04-28 / This dissertation has as its theme the Teaching of History and, as object, the analysis of the theme in the initial years of Elementary School in a school of the state network of the city of São Paulo. They guided the research the following questions: how do the teachers understand the teaching of history in the formation of the children in the initial years? Do the methodological practices developed by them in the classroom contribute to children's awareness? Do the official documents and programs of the public network and the Curriculum Guidelines subsidize a liberating formation in this age group? The theoretical reference that subsidized this work was the conception of liberating education of Paulo Freire. In order to demonstrate the academic and pedagogical relevance of the work, a bibliographical review of the main works, theses and dissertations dealing with this topic was carried out in the Portal of the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) and the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology ( IBICT) as well as a survey on the site of the Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo), in the period between 2010 and 2015, in the area of Education. The empirical research was carried out in a public school of the State Network located in the West Zone of the city of São Paulo. In addition to the analysis of the legislative documents, semi-structured interviews were carried out with five teachers from the 1st to 5th grades of the initial years of elementary education. From the examination of the data of the studied reality, it was verified that the discourse on the intentions regarding the teaching of history in this educational cycle differs from the educational practice. Despite the advances of the studies developed in the last decades on the teaching of history, the teaching practice is still linked to a "traditional" format of teaching, based, among other aspects, on the memorization of textbooks and the historical approach decontextualized, impacting Negatively on the idea of training for children's awareness and citizenship.
