To Buy or Not to Buy: Consumer Purchase Behavior Based on Lifestyle Brand Logo Colors

Crockett, Chelsi 01 May 2020 (has links)
This research aims to examine the logos of lifestyle brands and explore whether certain logo colors elicit a purchase response in consumers. Color Theory and Impression Management Theory are examined alongside the idea of this study. Two-hundred-nine United States residents 18 years of age and older who are not color blind or color deficient participated in a voluntary online survey where they were presented with several differently colored lifestyle brand logos and then prompted to choose which color of lifestyle brand logo would prompt them to purchase a product from the brand in question. The variables of gender, age and, favorite color were also examined in the survey. Results from Qualtrics Survey Software and SPSS showed that even though an individual chose a certain color as their favorite color, that favorite color was not always the color they chose when choosing the preferred color of a lifestyle brand logo.

När samhället säger stopp : En intervjustudie om hur äldres livsstil och självidentitet utmanas under pandemin

Persson, Anna January 2021 (has links)
Since the outburst of the COVID-19 pandemic in Sweden in March 2020, there has been a request of maintaining a social distance between one another in society. Especially in the beginning of the pandemic it was emphasized that elder people should limit the number of interactions and keep a safe distance. However, good intentions may have turned out into negative consequences for the elderly, partly caused by having been forced to a change of lifestyle. The aim of this study is consequently to reflect the lives of the elderly during the COVID-19 pandemic based on the concepts lifestyle and self identity. Anthony Giddens (2014) claims that our lifestyle represents a story about our self identity and that it touches the core of our own self, and his understanding of the concepts constitutes the theoretical frame of reference. Semi-structured interviews have shown how seven informers, aged 70 and older, express how lifestyles of the elderly have been challenged in many ways during the pandemic. Special trials arise for the ones that are not seeing others like they used to but they have all found alternative ways of interacting. However, some of the elderly have chosen to continue to interact like they used to but their lifestyle has still been challenged caused to cancelled activities, and above all because many of them feel that their choise to do so is not appreciated by the environment. Even though they are handling the challenges differently, the results show that they all are confident individuals and that their way of living during the pandemic even can strengthen their self identity.

To sportify or not to sportify? : Unpacking the profiles of sport and lifestyle initiatives for sustainable social development

Barcenilla, Hugo, D'Arcy, Brendan January 2021 (has links)
Background: Sport is often perceived as inherently positive for sustainable development. This widespread assumption is however found to be quite normative, and the standardization of its boundaries dangerously naive. The lack of contextual specificity across the dominant schools of thought calls for a more comprehensive analysis of what different activities entail in different contexts.  Purpose: This study examines the field of sport for development through a critical lens. Different initiatives using traditional mainstream sports and lifestyle sports, seeking an array of social development objectives, are structurally and systematically unpacked, hence uncovering the attributes that shape the achievements and challenges of the projects.  Methods: Through a qualitative approach, six organisations operating in varying scopes and environments were interviewed using a semi-structured approach.  Results: The investigation pinpoints the encompassing theme of sportification as a force of change influencing the internal and external dynamics of lifestyle sports as well as traditional mainstream sports, though to a lesser extent. Several important issues emerge from the investigation, such as how the notions of focus, networks and the fundamental benefits and challenges underlying each type of sport can materialize into concrete impacts on social development.  Conclusions: A fine balance of sportification is necessary in order to gain the leverage and capital required to access the opportunities presented by organized sport yet without excessively compromising the innate social qualities of the activity.

Hantera utmaningar i omvårdnaden av patienter med hjärtsvikt : En litteraturöversikt från sjuksköterskeperspektiv / Managing challenges in the care of patients with heart failure : – A literature review from nurse’s perspective

Nolén, Anna, Nyrén, Mariya January 2021 (has links)
Background: Patients with heart failure experience various nursing problems and symptoms. Self-care advice in heart failure reduces symptoms and mortality, however, there are difficulties in lifestyle changes. Difficulties between nurse and patient are most common in communication about disease prognosis or death. In addition, the staff’s attitude, lack of time and level of knowledge affect the quality of care.Aim: The aim of this study was to describe nurses’ experiences of providing care to patients with heart failure.Method: Literature review based on 15 scientific articles with a qualitative or quantitative approach. The databases used to search the articles were PubMed and CINAHL. The analysis was performed according to a general overview method. Results: The nurses experienced several different challenges while providing care to patients with heart failure, including lack of continuity for optimal treatment and lack of ethical approach when meeting patients. They also experienced communication and information transfer issues between various health care settings, which affected their long-term work and patient care. Finally, the results showed a need for increased knowledge about telemedicine in order to be able to support the patient in the future. Conclusion: Nurses are expected to handle various patient care challenges and collaborate with other professions. Collaboration is essential to provide care of good quality. New ways of information transfer may be necessary. E-health has shown positive and negative factors in health care. Several patients could be treated at the same time, and the need for hospital care could decrease. Negative parts are seen in cost and work routine. The conclusion shows the necessity for increased knowledge.

The effect of risk communication to young adults in Sweden during COVID-19 : A qualitative study about how Swedish young adults decide to live concerning to the restrictions during the pandemic

Svensson, Stina, Yasmeen, Khadiza January 2021 (has links)
The risks for Swedish citizens' health increased when the COVID-19 pandemic came to the country and the risk communication started. Risk communication entails attempts to change perceptions, beliefs, attitudes, feelings or behavior according to Breakwell (2014, p.144). Sweden has adopted a different strategy to deal with the pandemic in relation to other Nordic countries. In this thesis we have chosen to look at a vulnerable group, Swedish young adults in age 20 to 30 year olds because they are the one of the most active citizens during the pandemic. This thesis is conducted using a qualitative method and collects empirical data from semi-structured interviews of Swedish young adults. The theoretical concept is centred on risk communication, risk society and decisions-making. Based on research evidence, It is a mixed outcome how young adults choose to deal with the restrictions, some follow them closely and some of them still live a social life as before the pandemic. The study concluded that young adult’s behavioral changes played an important role in society

Physical activity levels by glycemia status: A population-based cross-sectional study in Peru

Ganoza-Calero, Antonelhla M., Cuadros-Torres, Milagros, Bernabé-Ortiz, Antonio 01 April 2021 (has links)
Objective: To assess whether the prevalence of low physical activity levels and time spent watching TV differ depending on glycemia status. Methods: A secondary analysis using data from a population-based study was conducted. Two were the outcomes: physical activity levels, derived from the International Physical Activity Questionnaire, and sitting time watching TV. The exposure was glycemia status, defined based on results of the oral glucose tolerance tests (OGTT): euglycemia, dysglycemia, and T2DM. The T2DM group was further split into: aware and unaware of T2DM diagnosis. Prevalence ratios (PR) and 95% CI were reported using Poisson regression models. Results: Data of 1607 individuals, mean age 48.2 (SD: 10.6) years, 809 (50.3%) females, were analyzed. Dysglycemia and T2DM was present in 16.9% (95% CI: 15.1%–18.8%) and 11.0% (95% CI: 9.5%–12.6%) of participants, respectively. A total of 605 (37.6%; 95% CI: 35.2%–39.9%) participants had low levels of physical activity and 1019 (63.3%; 95% CI: 60.9%–65.7%) subjects spent ≥2 h per day sitting watching TV. In multivariable model, there was no significant association between glycemia status and physical activity levels (PR = 1.14; 95% CI: 0.95–1.36). Similar result was found between glycemia status and sitting time watching TV. However, those aware of T2DM diagnosis were more likely to have low levels of physical activity (PR = 1.31; 95% CI: 1.06–1.61) compared to the euglycemia group. Conclusions: We found a no relationship between glycemia status and physical activity level or sitting time watching TV, pointing out similar levels of physical (in)activity among those with euglycemia, dysglycemia and T2DM. Individuals aware of having T2DM were 30% more likely to have low physical activity levels compared to the euglycemic group. There is a need to increase physical activity levels among T2DM individuals. / Revisión por pares

Obrazy partnerství, manželství a rodičovství v časopisech životního stylu pro ženy a pro muže / The Imagine of Cohabitation, Marriage and Parenthood in Women's and Men's Lifestyle Magazines

Mixová, Kristýna January 2014 (has links)
Diplomová práce Kristýna Mixová Abstract The topic of this diploma thesis is the image of cohabitation, marriage and parenthood in lifestyle magazines. Theoretical sources of the text are ideas of Zygmunt Bauman - love as a consumer product or love forever, and the ideas of Gilles Lipovetsky about postmoral society without duty. Methodology for this diploma thesis was the qualitative content analysis of 12 issues of the most read czech men's lifestyle magazine Maxim and 12 issues of the most read czech women's lifestyle magazine Joy. Both published in 2012. In both lifestyle magazines love is presented as a consumer product, but in women's magazines exists an image of love forever as well. Duty is shown in negative view. Instead of duty, taking care about others is presented. Wedding is decribed like a normal event expected in a human life. Parenthood in men's lifestyle magazines is connected with self-denial, in women's lifestyle magazines as a self-fulfilment connected with self- denial. The last part of the diploma thesis updates the finding of Paulína Tabery from 2007.
