Equações diferenciais funcionais neutras, comportamento assintótico e representação / Neutral functional differential equations, asymptotic behaviour and representation

Tacuri, Patrícia Hilario 29 January 2013 (has links)
Os resultados novos apresentados neste trabalho estão contidos nos artigos [31, 43] / The aim of this work is to investigate qualitative properties of neutral functional differential equations (NFDEs) and introduce a general class of equations called measure NFDE . We obtain results on the asymptotic behavior for a class of NFDEs with periodic coefficients, where the period and delay are rationally related. Moreover, we show that the exponential dichotomy of the solution operator of non autonomous retarded functional differential equations (RFDEs) implies the existence of bounded solutions to the associated non homogeneous RFDEs. Finally, using the theory of generalized ordinary differential equations (generalized ODEs), we obtain results of existence and uniqueness, continuous dependence on parameters of the solutions of measure NFDEs. The new results presented in this work are contained in the articles [31,43]

A Research into Wen-Ito's Studies on the Book of Odes

Hou, Mei Chen Unknown Date (has links)

The relationship between sound and content in Latin poetry

Williams, Matthew Llewellyn January 2004 (has links)
This dissertation examines the relationship between phonetic sound and content in Latin poetry, with a focus on Books 1-3 of Horace's Odes. The central argument is that a relationship exists between sound and content in poetry, that this can be analysed and described more thoroughly and systematically than is usually the case, and that the appreciation of poetry can be enhanced by doing so. Part 1 presents a scheme for describing the sound-content relationship, and argues that this accurately reflects the perceptions of poetic audiences and is psychologically valid. The scheme begins with the concept of the 'sonance', defined as any set of sounds that renders a passage sonically noteworthy. Sonances that relate to content are classified either as 'harmonic sonances', which relate to content due to the properties of the relevant sounds, or 'repetitive sonances', which relate to content purely due to the repetition (including patterning or contrasting) of sounds, regardless of their properties. Harmonic sonances, it is argued, may relate to content through four 'harmonies', depending on whether acoustic or articulatory properties are involved and whether the relationship is one of similarity between property and content or a more distant 'metaphor'. Repetitive sonances may relate to content by several different means, or 'modes of repetition'. Part 2 presents a simple method of numerical analysis which may be applied to the text by computer to extract passages that are relatively likely to contain a sonance, and briefly discusses the process of assessing these results, identifying further sonances by more natural means, and relating each sonance to the relevant content. As an essential preliminary to such matters, Latin phonetics and phonology are also discussed in detail. Parts 3 and 4 present the results of applying these resources of assessment and description to the text, to demonstrate the type of poetic appreciation which may thus be gained. Part 3 consists of two catalogues of harmonic and repetitive sonances taken from the whole of Odes 1-3. Part 4 is a specific examination of two entire odes in much greater detail. / Thesis (Ph.D.)--Humanities, 2004.

Vérification de descriptions VHDL par interprétation abstraite.

Hymans, Charles 04 September 2004 (has links) (PDF)

Heitzler, Domitille 07 January 2011 (has links) (PDF)

Attia, Najmeddine 20 December 2012 (has links) (PDF)

Feuto, Justin 25 October 2003 (has links) (PDF)

Basotho family odes (diboko) and oral tradition

Tsiu, M. W. (Moruti William), 1944- 01 January 2002 (has links)
Basotho family odes (diboko) form part of oral literature, and refer to names of families, clans or totems. They constitute poetic compositions conveying information about clans' historical origin, philosophy and ancestors. The performance of this oral art form makes use of formulaic techniques such as linking, parallelism, alliteration, etc., which are commonly used in praise poetry. As basis to the content of these oral art forms, the genealogies of the various Basotho clans are discussed to show the reflection of the progenitor names in the clan praises. The functions of family odes are of educational, social and religious nature. Other functions include their use in compositions of other genres, such as, praise poems, mine workers' chants, traditional doctors' falls (mawa) and songs. The recitation of this oral art form is characterised by the instability of the texts, which takes the form of extensions, additions, truncations, improvisations and genre transitions. / African Languages / M.A. (African Languages)

Gesamtkunstwerk and Other Trifles: Poems

Olthof, Derk A. 12 April 2011 (has links) (PDF)
In all their various categories, the arts serve as the dominant subject matter of Gesamtkunstwerk and Other Trifles. The title itself begins with a German word-meld—gesamt (total) + kunstwerk (work of art). Thus a primary aim of these poems is to bring as many elements of art together as possible and to use their various forms (self-portraits, nocturnes, odes, etc.) as metaphorical frameworks that inform abstractions such as regret ("How to Draw Regret"), psychological disorders ("Insomnia Nocturnes") and confusion in how one should feel about living realities as opposed to inanimate objects ("Dead Starling"). Most of the poems that are not related in some way to the arts (other than their inseparable relation to the art of poetry itself) deal with death or some other form of loss. Some of them humorous ("Commencement Speech"), others poignant ("In Places Where We Store Our Deaths"), these poems ironically find their place as the "other trifles" of the work. The purpose of this somewhat irreverent categorization of death and tragedy is to create ironic commentaries on the triviality of humankind's grand designs and accomplishments and to show the many similarities shared by comedy and tragedy alike, a project Tony Hoagland took up in his first book of poems, Sweet Ruin. My aim in writing these poems is to better understand how various art forms relate to each other and how aligning those arts in poetry allows the various genres to be "in conversation" one with another. I hope that readers will come away with a better understanding of how art forms are interconnected, but at the same time, I always aim to construct my poems in such a way that multiple readings can occur.
