The objective is to prove that the loving thematic in her poetry tissues a connection among wish, love and sorrow. The psychoanalitic boarding is the basis to elucidate this connection, which begans with the sight, since mythology, passing by the portuguese literature begining periods and repeating itself in Florbela contemporanian poets. If Florbela poetry corroborates the portuguese literature tradiction, otherwise, it exposes the subject human being face, being a wishful creature / Neste trabalho, analisa-se a obra po?tica de Florbela Espanca.

Rocha, Alexandre Fritzen da January 2013 (has links)
Sight-reading on the organ is a complex task since this instrument requires one to reconcile reading in three staves while playing with feet and hands simultaneously. The purpose of this research is to investigate the approaches used by organists in a sight-reading exercise with two contrasting excerpts, one of homophonic and the other of polyphonic texture. Studies indicate that the difference in texture can influence the result of sight-reading tasks. Others goals include: to determine if aspects of musical analysis are utilized consciously during sight-reading; observe the performance in sight-reading with subjects of different levels of training and/or musical experiences; identify the aspects, observed by the participants relative to sight-reading and self-reflection. Thus, the research questions arise: Is the result of sight-reading on the organ more satisfactory in homophonic or polyphonic excerpts? Did the self-evaluation after watching the video modify the perception of their interpretations? Ten subjects of distinct ages and music backgrounds were selected, all linked to the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). A questionnaire, videos of the performance of both excerpts, two semi-structured interviews and the exhibit of the videos to the participants were used. The audios of the performances were submitted to seven external evaluators. We concluded that self-evaluation after watching their videos modified the perception of the majority of the participants, proving to be a useful tool in this process. The musical background was not determinant in the homophonic texture, and the contrapuntal texture was considered more difficult among most participants.

Návrh projektu rozvoje cestovního ruchu - historický areál Klenová / The proposal of tourism development project - historical complex Klenová

HŘEBCOVÁ, Jaroslava January 2009 (has links)
The primary goal of my thesis is to develop a proposal of a project which would be focused on tourism development of the historical complex of Klenová; this complex is located in the Klatovy district in the region of Pilsen. There are two remarkable sights in this area, a) the ruin of the medieval stronghold of Klenová and b) the chateau of Klenová. Both of these are loosely connected to other historical sights and together they create an interesting face of the typical Czech landscape. Emerging from the executed SWOT analysis and subsequent SWOT matrix, the trouble spots have been identified and they became the source for the definition of strategic underdeveloped areas. These areas are appropriate to focus on and they are a part of the overall strategy. Next, these areas, which are in accord with the objectives of the project, are aimed to eliminate deficits and obstacles in the given locality. The areas in question are as follows: {$\bullet$} Tourism offers concerning products. {$\bullet$} The quality of service. {$\bullet$} Marketing and keeping the visitors informed. {$\bullet$} The infrastructure of tourism. Within the framework of these areas, partial targets have been determined. These targets are the source of consequent strategic measures. There is a certain amount of weaknesses to the castle area of Klenová. One of the major shortcommings is that guests tend to spend a short period of time in the area and that the infrastructure of the tourism is by no means sufficient. Furthermore, the quality of the services provided is below standards and tourists are confronted with lack of information concerning overall services. Finally, tourists are not given a sufficiently wide range of possibilities to spend their free time. The chateau of Klenová is always going to be a most important sight, but some refinements could be put into action to heighten the interest of tourists and to increase competitiveness towards other important sights. To interconnect a couple of cultural and historical sights into a single unit is more attractive for visitors, increasing attendance as well as extending the period of time the tourists are willing to spend in the area. The most effective way to connect sights in a comparatively small area seems to be an educational nature trail leading from one heritage landmark to another. The main goal of this thesis has been accomplished by the creation of a nature trail called "In the steps of ancient times, Klenova {--} Týnec {--} Loreta". The castle, the chateau of Klenová and its surroundings should provide the visitors with a wide range of possibilities to spend their free time. Morever, it should make them actually want to spend their free time in the particular area and make them want to come back. Simultaneously, all existing services should be provided on a satisfactory level while the organizational methodology and management should be improving at the same time.

Development of three AI techniques for 2D platform games

Persson, Martin January 2005 (has links)
This thesis serves as an introduction to anyone that has an interest in artificial intelligence games and has experience in programming or anyone who knows nothing of computer games but wants to learn about it. The first part will present a brief introduction to AI, then it will give an introduction to games and game programming for someone that has little knowledge about games. This part includes game programming terminology, different game genres and a little history of games. Then there is an introduction of a couple of common techniques used in game AI. The main contribution of this dissertation is in the second part where three techniques that never were properly implemented before 3D games took over the market are introduced and it is explained how they would be done if they were to live up to today’s standards and demands. These are: line of sight, image recognition and pathfinding. These three techniques are used in today’s 3D games so if a 2D game were to be released today the demands on the AI would be much higher then they were ten years ago when 2D games stagnated. The last part is an evaluation of the three discussed topics.

Facing the Public Eye: Analyzing Discourse on the Niqab and the Visibility of the Face In Canada

Feder, Samantha 14 May 2018 (has links)
The niqab is a veil worn by some Muslim women that covers the face except the area around the eyes, which can be seen through a rectangular slit in the fabric. In recent years, a number of countries have enacted measures against the niqab in public spaces. Canadian law and policy makers have made significant contributions to ongoing debates about the niqab as well as the acts of facial covering and uncovering. While objections to the niqab have been framed in many different ways, the guiding premise of this dissertation is that negative reactions to the niqab are grounded within the expectation and demand to see the human face. Drawing upon the case of R. v. N.S, the niqab ban during the Canadian citizenship oath, and Bill 62: An Act to foster adherence to State religious neutrality and, in particular, to provide a framework for requests for accommodations on religious grounds in certain bodies, this dissertation considers how Canadian legal and political actors have justified restrictions against the niqab by invoking the idea that the visibility of the face is a central part of Western cultural values. Ultimately, my research questions the kind of work that the human face and the sense of sight is expected to do by examining how demands to see people’s faces reflect and maintain interlocking cites of privilege and oppression such as racism, sexism, ableism, imperialism, and colonialism.

South African unit standards for sight-singing, realised in a multiple-media study package

Potgieter, Paul Stephanus 29 September 2004 (has links)
This research concerns the design of a multiple-media study package for sight-singing and how national standards for sight-singing can be realised by using this study package. Sight-singing is a skill which can be of great value for singers, choristers and other musicians. Unfortunately this skill has been sadly neglected in South African schools. The result is that a great percentage of society (and in particular, choristers) is not able to read music and then sing it. The researchers is responsible for sight-singing tuition at the Drakensberg Boys’ Choir School, which is the only choir school in South Africa. The ages of new choristers vary from 9 to 13 years and there is a considerable variation in their music backgrounds. It is therefore essential that every learner can work at his own pace to master sight-singing. The author did research on this subject to compile a sight-singing programme which will enable learners to reach a high standard of sight-singing while progressing at their own pace. By making a study of relevant literature, the author gathered information on sight-singing, reading, communication, educational media as well as Outcomes-Based Education and instructional design. The author formulated criteria for a sight-singing programme and for the use of educational media in such a programme. These criteria are used to evaluate seven different sight-singing programmes. The evaluation indicated to the researcher how other authors approached the subject. He identified the strong and weak points of every programme. The researcher designed a multiple-media study package for sight-singing according to Dick and Carey’s systems approach model for designing instruction (1996). The study package consists of a workbook, a textbook and two audio CDs. The author did action research by using the study package to teach sight-singing to the new choristers at the Drakensberg Boys’ Choir School. Various problems in the study package became clear while using it for teaching. The study package was amended a number of times to eliminate the shortcomings. This research indicates that sight-singing is not only possible when a competent teacher is present. Students can learn sight-singing independently by using a multiple-media programme. / Thesis (DMus)--University of Pretoria, 2005. / Music / unrestricted

Att tro sina ögon : En självstudie i a prima vista på elbas / To believe one’ses : A self-study on sight-reading on the electric bass

Olsson, Jonas January 2021 (has links)
The purpose of this work is to study my learning process when practicing sight-reading on the electric bass and to examine how my choices on the design of the learning situation affect my learning. During a four-week period I’ve been practicing sight-reading 3-4 times per week which has been documented using video recording and a logbook. The study is based on a design theoretical perspective on learning. The results show a progression in my ability to sight-read and also how various resources affect my learning. In the last chapter I problematize the results in relation to previous research in this field of study and what preconditions the chosen material and the study’s method mean for my learning.

Line of Sight controller global tuning based on a high-level optronic criterion. Application to a double-stage stabilization platform

Frasnedo, Sophie 06 December 2016 (has links)
The presented work on the Line of Sight stabilization of an optronic device meets the heightened demands regarding stabilization performances that come with the reduction of the time allowed to controller tuning. It includes the intrinsinc improvement of the system stabilization. The proposed solution features a double stabilization stage built from a single stabilization stage existing system. The new architecture is specified and the new components are chosen among the existing technology and experimentally characterized. A complete double stabilization stage model is then proposed. The simplification of the controller tuning process is another goal. The designed cost function F includes a high-level optronic criterion, the Modulation Transfer Function (that quantifies the level of blur broughtinto the image by the residual motion of the platform) instead of the usual low-level and potentially conservative criterion. The function F is costly to evaluate. In order to tune the controller parameters within industrial time constraints, a Bayesian algorithm, adapted to optimization with a reduced budget of evaluations, is implemented.Controllers of both stabilization stages are simultaneously tuned thanks to the previously developped system model.
